DP to HDMI adaptor for freesync.

If I was to go out and get a Display Port to HDMI adaptor would i be able to use Freesync/ Gsync on my Acer Nitro VG270 (it supports freesync but only over HDMI ad it does not have a DP connector.). If so would i need to get an active or passive adaptor for freesync to work?

Not in the foreseeable future. FreeSync doesn't work through DP to HDMI adapters as far as I'm aware, and that's been here for years.

Sorry, what I meant to say is do you think that Nvidia will support freesync over HDMI as AMD does?

Yes, that's possible. It's up to NVIDIA though.
