Galaxy Tab A not working with Xbox controllers

i just bought a Galaxy Tab A and used the USB micro b (ugh) to USB type A connector to connect a Xbox one controller to tablet and the controller doesn't seem to work in Minecraft like it does on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 if anyone has potential solutions to this problem let me know.
