Me and my friends are planning to do some benchmarking of CPU coolers. We are testing it on my 16 core Ryzen 9 3950x and doing some CPU intensive tasks and medium to moderate overclocking. What is the best air cooler for an AMD Ryzen 9 3950x right now? BTW we are planning to compare it with a 240mm NZXT Kraken X52 and a 280mm Kraken X62.

Hi, I'm buying an AIO, and I was looking at the NZXTs kraken x62 and x52. I can fit both in my case and I know I should get the biggest one I can fit but I cant find the x62 in stock anywhere in Finland. The x52 is already in stock in a couple of stores. The estimated arrival for the x62 is end of march. I was wondering wether the noise and temp differences are much between them or could I just go for the x52 now? according to the first image from gamers nexus at 1500rpm the x62 is a few degrees cooler but also almost 5db louder but then again the x62 at 1050rpm beats the x52 in both. But then again in the second image the temp differences are only a few degrees: x62 vs x52 @1500rpm the x62 is only 4,3c cooler and when the x62 is @ 1050rpm its only 2,6c cooler than the x52 @ 1500rpm. TL:DR: The x52 is a bit worse but already available in Finland while I would have to wait 2 months for the x62. What would you do? thanks in advance and props to anyone who reads this mess fully!

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum and building systems. After a ton of research I'm finally confident enough to have a go at building my first system - and I have managed to create a rough list of components that I will use. Now before I get shot down in flames...I am aware that the parts I have chosen are majoritively out of date. I'm not using this system for gaming, I just want a bespoke, budget, decent performing machine for my first build, with bang for buck being my highest priority. I have already got my CPU (a Xeon 5650) and my mobo (Asus Rampage III Extreme) and I have just ordered my case (an Aerocool Aero 800 Black). I was looking to use an NZXT Kraken X61 for my CPU cooling - however PC Part Picker is giving me a compatibility error for this combination. I am a bit confused as I have seen several reviews for my case stating that there is space in the roof of the case for an AIO radiator. My question really is - does anybody have any experience with this combination or any advice about compatibility with these components? I am also open to any other recommendations or advice regarding my first build - as some parts are still to be determined (HDD, SSD, GPU, PSU) Thanks, Matt

Hi. In my plan to upgrade my PC, i'm thinking of getting these parts: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/M9TZvV My worry is, that the Kraken x62 will block one or two of the RAM slots. I've seen this being discussed in other threads, not on this motherboard though. Can anyone comfirm or deny that the x62 will block the RAM?

Hi I've got an Asus Strix z270E MB and a Kraken x62 AIO. I have the AIO Fans connected to the CPU_FAN header running at 100% in DC Mode. Is it correct that it should be set to 100% on the CPU_FAN header? Thanks.

Just as the title suggests; is there a certain cleaning solution/type of cloth I should use when trying to clean the Infinity Mirror on the Kraken X62?
-
which of these 2 should i get. i dont care about the rgb but i do care about performance, noise and reliability. Ive heard that the kraken is more quieter and that the h115i can sound like a jet but does the kraken perform slightly better and is it a reliable cooler. If it helps i will be putting it on a i7 7700k in a corsair 780t case

I'm ordering parts for my up and coming PC and was wondering if the kraken x62 would fit on the top side of the fractal define r5. My MOBO is Asus Rog Strix z270e. GPU is Gigabyte's Xtreme Gaming 1070 and for RAM I got the RGB G.Skill TridentZ's. I think that it will fit, but I'm not sure. Thanks in advance for your time.

Hello fellow techies, This is my first crack at watercooling, using an AIO. I am using the Kraken X62 in the NZXT S340 Elite case. I was previously running an i7 7700k in the 70's using a Hyper 212 Evo at 4.7GHz in the high 60's low 70's. After installing the X62 idle CPU temps seem fine at around 27-31 degrees at 4.8GHZ with a water temp of 28, fan speed 50% and pump at 60%. However when I put it under a stress test with Prime 95 it will start in the high 60's and when it starts the second test it will shoot to around 86 and has surpassed 90 at some points all the while the liquid temps sit between 35 and 38 degrees, the fan speed bumps to 55% and the pump goes to 100%. I set the the AIO to performance mode with fan speed controlled by liquid temp and pump controlled by CPU temp. I am using the pre-applied paste that was on the cooler. Would you call this normal? Or is there something I should look into as to why this is happening? Going from air to water with only a 100MHz increase in speed between the two doesn't seem like it should run these temps. If you need any more info do let me know and I will provide what I can. Thanks for any inputs!

Hello there everyone, it's my first post on the forums, after a few years of lurking. So I have built myself this PC for C4D work, Photoshop, video editing and occasional gaming: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X @ 3.8 GHz, 1.1825v ASRock X399 Taichi Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4, 2x16GB, 3000MHz, CL15, White (CMU32GX4M2C3000C15) NZXT Kraken X62, radiator on top, exhaust fans on the bottom NZXT H440 rev. 1 White Inno3D GTX 1080 iChiLL X3 (open-air style) 1x M.2 NVMe SSD (250GB Samsung 960 Evo), 2x SATA 6G SSDs, 2x SATA 6G HDDs Corsair RM850i PSU I've been having many thermal problems with this build. Is the Kraken X62 really not enough? The CPU idles out at about 42 *C and in load it runs at a staggering 74 *C (C4D rendering and AIDA64 stress test, both for about 1h, it does top out at 74), which I'm not comfortable with, as its 6 degrees over what AMD suggests. My ambient temp is usually 24-25 *C. Liquid temp. reported by the CAM software is 44-45 *C. I'll be glad as long as it meets the 68 *C limit and reaches 3000+ points in Cinebench, but it doesn't look like it'll happen. Onto the clocks. It's currently set at 3.8 GHz with a nice voltage of 1.1825 v on the vcore. Now I understand that the H440 is a bad case for airflow, and that the X62's coldplate is not designed for the size of a TR4 CPU, but should it be this bad? Steve from GN tested the X62 with the 1950X and the temps were surprisingly good, you can see the article here: LINK. The radiator is on the top and its fans are set to exahust. I also have 3 120mm intake fans in the front and 1 140mm on the back. Thermal compound is Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut. So, about the RAM issue - first of all, my RAM is not on the QVL for my motherboard, but the XMP profile is read and applied correctly, so I thought this shouldn't be an problem. Funny thing is - the faster the memory frequency, the hotter the 1950X gets. But ALSO - the whole system behaves slightly laggy when the RAM is at a lower MHz, especially when memory is being heavily used. A BIOS update largely fixed this issue, but, for example, when a YouTube video starts to play, it seriously stutters and lags for a couple of seconds. Currently, I've found that the ad hoc sweet spot is at 2800 MHz. The RAM runs at 1.35 v, but downvolting it doesn't seem to impact my CPU temps. It runs in dual channel mode. What do you suggest me do? Stick to stock speeds, or even downclock the CPU? Try re-seating the CPU and reapplying the thermal paste? Reposition the radiator, turn it upside down, flip the fans the other way? Or maybe I should sell my current RAM kit, or sell my Kraken X62 in order to get something else, like the Enermax Liqtech TR4 360 (or even a custom loop), if I want decent temps in a H440? Taking off all panels and opening the window definitely helps to bring the temps down by a couple degrees, but what's the point of having an ugly, loud PC and a perpetually runny nose?

So Here is my question, I have taken Notice that my CPU Runs around 40C at idle and Hitting A peak of 78C-80C Under load in Ghost Recon Wildland's. Its Cooled by a NZXT Kraken X62 (240mm Rad). It seems these Temps are a Little High for it being water cooled. Can anyone Confirm? Also The Room Was at 84F or 29C when these temp were recorded. I want to OC but I really don't want to go Over 90C and I don't think that's possible. One note, When I installed the X62, the tube seemed to be pushing on the Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4 Ram, Im thinking its possible that the Kraken isnt seating properly and that I need to turn the cooler 1/4 Clockwise to allow the tubes to exit on the top or bottom. But if the temps seems OK for stock clock then I dont want to mess with it.. Thanks for any Guidance.

Hi everyone, New user here, and first time building a PC as well. I've been delaying my build because I am unable to decide on optimal fan setup, and was hoping to get some input. Relevant hardware: -Phanteks Enthoo Pro M TG -i7-7700k -NZXT Kraken X62 -ASUS STRIX 1080ti -ASUS ROG maximus code IX My question is, how should i set up my fans? As it stands I have room for 5 140mm fans, 2 in the front, 2 in the top, and one in the back. I was planning on putting my 280 rad on top as exhaust, with two unimpeded 140mm fans in front as intake, but i am afraid this will give me negative pressure with the back fan also being used as exhaust. I could put 3 120mm fans in front if i remove the ODD enclosure, but i need a blu ray drive. I have 3 Corsair HD 140s (600-1350rpm, 74 CFM) and the 2 stock NZXT fans (500-1800rpm, ??? CFM) that came with the x62. I was thinking that the radiator fans wont move as much air as the front intakes (obviously they wont, but i dont have any numbers on this), so maybe i could still get positive pressure with this setup, but i would like to have some input from experienced builders before i begin. Any suggestions would be wonderful.

so im trying to turn my pc on and it wouldnt turn on. went to bios and it said my CPU was 100 degrees. currently im blowing a fan into it with the side panel off just so i can type this lol. ive got a kraken x62, 6700k, gtx 1080, 16gb corsair ram and a gaming m5 MSI mobo incase you need to know. im assuming its a x62 problem but it isnt out of place or moving. Thanks for the help

Hello everyone, i hope you guys could help me. Yesterday I started fitting my x62 onto my asus Maximus formula vii and noticed a substantial gap between de backplate standoffs and the motherboard. I had the same problem with my h100i hydro from corsair, in the extend that I bent a standoff while tightening, ruining my cooling. Thats the reason why I went with a new kit to start of fresh, but to my surprise the problem is back (even if in a new package :p) i searched the net for this problem and there are 2 camps: 1. Fill the gap behind the mobo with washers. 2. Let the backplate be loose, it will tighten upon installation. What at do you guys think? I added some zoomed in pics of the standoffs. Thanks in advance!

Do anyone know the difference pros and cons. also I would definitely focus on silent over temp.

Can you hook the NZXT x62 up to a custom loop? i cant find much about it i really just like the look of the cpu block but i want to add it to a custom loop. does anyone have any ideas or know from experience?

So I'm planning a build with the new Kraken X62, and NZXT just pushed its "Earliest Estimated Shipping Date" from Nov 18 to Nov 28. Curious if anyone has worked with NZXT pre-releases in the past: How timely are they? Should I fear a months-long wait or can I just chill out?

Hello, I want to put my push/pull kraken x62 into my new H200i build. I know it will fit perfectly, however my question is regarding fans. The included fan hub only allows for 3 channels at 10W each. Can I plug a fan splitter into the NZXT fan hub? I want to be able to control all my fans RPM through CAM software (4 fans radiator, 2 exhaust) so should I purchase a better fan hub and remove the included one? Any work-arounds? thank you

Hello Fellow Friends, I have recently done some searching regarding the NZXT x62 and the AER RBG fans. I have never seen a very clear answer, so I came to ask. Could I replace the radiator fans with 2 140 AER RBG fans? I would currently be building with a core i7-8086K, obviously the NZXT x62. An H500 case, and an ASUS ROG Z370-E. Thank you in advance.

Currently looking for AIO coolers and come down to the kraken x62 and the h115i pro rgb. I am personally leaning towards the x62 because of its far better look and slightly better performance. However, I have heard lots of complaints about the CAM software just being buggy in general and that's tearing me apart. Does anyone here have experience with the x62 and how is the software implementation? Any help would be appreciated!

What is the optimal radiator setup, with positive air pressure in mind? seeing as the case comes with two front 200mm RGB intake fans(which i really dont want to switch), and one 140mm fan for outtake in the back, should i do the top 280mm radiator as intake or outtake in this case?

Hi Has anyone tried mount Kraken x62 on LGA3647 socket? I think about dual CPU configuration with Intel Xeon 8176. The orginal cooler must be very loudnes, because it's small and is dedicade to 205W TDP

Hello peeps, I have a ryzen 7 1700 oc'ed to 3.8Ghz with 1.3125V vcore ans 1.2V SOC and running 2933 mhz memory. I have seen peeps run higher voltages for higher clocks on the same chip online (ryzen is supposed to run cool) but I am getting 70 C load temps running Aida 64 stress test. This makes no sense to me. People are getting this kind of temps with the included wraith cooler... not a $200 high end AIO like the Kraken x62. Specs as currently setup: Ryzen 7 1700 @ 3.8Ghz 1.3125 Vcore Asrock x370 taichi 64gb G-skill trident Z 3200 @ 2933 Corsair HX850i psu GTX 1050ti exoc @2ghz/8ghz Case: NZXT S340 white with tempered glass. Fans: All fans are Noctua NF-A14 + NF-F12 with all fan slots populated I have done 2 repastes and 5 remounts of my cooler with no major change. I am using Arctic cooling MX-4 thermal compound. I know I live in Australia and the ambiant temps are around 35 C but a delta T over ambient of 35 C with liquid cooling seems off. My highly overclocked 1050ti runs around 66C which is aircooled. Pls halp.

I was in the market for a cooler and really wanted the NZXT Kraken X62. Have you seen the reviews on Newegg? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA85V5735272&cm_re=nzxt_x62-_-35-146-056-_-Product Version 1 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835146059&cm_re=nzxt_x62-_-35-146-059-_-Product Version 2 They put out two different revisions, I assume to fix the issue but it didn't help. Both have pumps failing within 2-10 months after purchase with many reporting a 1+ month RMA and a horrible customer service experience. I guess my biggest problem is that no one is talking about it. Not one Youtuber(to my knowledge, Gamers Nexus touches on it with Asetek but not for this particular product) has mentioned it and asked for an explanation. There is also nothing in print(from a major tech publication) outside of someone like me mentioning it. This is a big deal considering its a $150+ cooler and its pretty, alot of people like the pump design and LED setup. It's clearly a faulty product but Youtuber's are still promoting it. Bitwit in particular but Dmitry over on Hardware Canucks is still pushing ads for it(I've messaged both of them but haven't gotten a response). I ended up buying a Corsair H115i Pro, I like it and it does well(so far, 8700k shows up today). Its unfortunate that NZXT is still having this issue with their QC and I hope someone with a bigger presence brings this up to them. I admit, I was pretty salty about their decision to include those garbage fan hubs in the new H400i case, really wanted one but not for $150. The fan hub is what made the price so damn high. Even after that, I still wanted to buy their products until I saw these Newegg reviews. Thanks!
