So being stuck at home coughing until my head aches, I decided to have a look at my ex's old laptop. It is as you might have guessed an Acer aspire s3 ms2346. It starts to a white screen and some hdd noices, but appears to not give any signal thru the hdmi port. And there is also no startup sound from the speakers. The most common solution to the white screen problem appears to be a screen replacement. But I don't think this laptop with its limited 4gb of ram is worth the ≈110usd it would cost me. So I wonder if anyone here have a suggestion of a cheaper way for me to fix this.

Hey, I have been having this problem since past 3 days. Gpu-GTX 960 The display either goes black and I get the message- 'monitor going to sleep'. Or it turns brown or white and freezes until I restart by holding down the power button. During this the cpu lights, and all the fans are spinning. Sometimes I get a short stuttering sound before it goes out, other time I keep getting the entire sound output without any issues but the monitor doesn't get any signal. Even when it crashes, sometimes it reboots itself, other time I have to hold down the button. Twice I have gotten a completely back screen with 3-4 green dots/pixels at the same place when I am rebooting, it is fixed by rebooting again. I monitored temperatures and they never go over 65-70 max. This happens when I'm gaming or just watch a stream or browsing. I tried to do a clean reinstall of video drivers, and rolled back to a previous release as well. Everytime the crash happens the fans and all the lights in the cpu are on. I also reset from the bios and am not running any overclocks anywhere. If I turn the montior off and on, it say that dvi input is active but there is no display. What may be the issue? Edit: I also did take the pc apart and re-place everything. But the gpu sits on the same pci slot.

So randomly starting yesterday, around 2:AM When playing RDR2 Online, my pc shut off. I restarted my pc, with no applications running again the pc shut off, no memory issues, this had been a very clean install of windows as well as it just being installed two weeks before the issue. I have all the latest drivers, I tried troubleshooting hardware as well already. As well as doing simple tasks can sometimes shut it off as well or white screen. Please refer to the video attached. My monitor suddenly started flashing like this. I checked the wires they are okay. It's not an issue with HDMI cable either cause if I turn on the PC i can see the display but it flashes like this even after that. The Change to Analog to Hdmi(which can be seen in the video in the top left corner) is the source detection mode of my monitor and it does not flash in it. P.S: The PC was turned off when the video was recorded. VID-20230323-WA0024.mp4

Good morning/afternoon/evening to you all In the last week my pc has shown me a bunch of wonderful new way to crashes, see attached images. Those crashes see to be due to nvidia drivers, but that seems to be fixed after a format. Along with those crashes my pc has switched off with no warning. In the one case I was just reading something on my browser and on the other I was playing Supreme commander, spanning 2 screens. Current configuration: CPU: i5 2500 OC to 4.0GHz (been running like this for 2 years) RAM: 2 x 8 GB Corsair vengeance CL9 1600MHz + 2 x 4 GB Adata CL9 1600MHz (Not the best combination, but it has been working) GPU: MSI 1050ti 4GB (No 6pin connector) SSD: 128GB Samsung 840evo PSU: Corsair TX 750 Motherboard: GA-P67A-UD3 (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3698&dl=1#ov) Windows 10 Pro What I have tried: Format windows Got rid of the coloured crash screen Removed all oc and xmp. Ran valley benchmark 3 times and was stable Evaluated Event viewer and found no errors during the benchmark Restored CPU OC Ran LinX with a 16GB problem set along with Kombuster's frame buffer filling stress test PC ran at 100% cpu load @4GHz at 79C Ram was filled to 20/20 GB GPU used the full 4GB frame buffer Test period 20min System was stable 2017.02.04 Removed the 1050ti and installed my old 660 PC powered down when starting supreme commander FA Struggling to replicate the behavior 2017.02.05 May today be the end of this crap Stripped the pc in its entirety and took a few hours to clean and inspect every nook and cranny. All parts were photographed during the process. The motherboard Inspected the are under the slots to remove the dust that might have settled in ther Found a little dust bunny lodged under my PCI-E lane between the pins Inspected all slots for dust partials and damaged pins Inspected all capacitors for ovality, buldges, leakage and superficial damage Inspected all power connectors for damage or burn spots Clleaned and replaced the thermal paste as the paste was more of a putty than a goo. PSU: The warranty was up so decided to remove the lid and see if all was still well in there Cleaned the fan Cleaned 6years worth of dust Inspected the capacitors for signs of damage Resembled the psu and tested it before using it again Removed some redundant case lighting Redid cable management to remove any possible pinch points Testing Ran Aida 64 for 30min passed Included a picture of a shorter run after the temps had stabilized 2017.02.13 The Pc randomly powered down again. As a next step I was investigating my psu's different voltages (3.3V, 5V and 12V) for deviations exceeding 5%. For the evaluation I used a multi-meter rather than software. Measurements were taken at molex and sata connectors All the voltages are within tolerance and did not shift regardless of idle or load conditions. I think my initial gpu crash were due to windows driver issues. After allowing windows to do all its updates, the problem went away.

So I am currently gaming on a Lenovo Y510p with 16gb of ram and two 755m's running in SLI. Playing games such as Rocket League and Borderlands 2 on very high settings brings my CPU and GPU temps very high so I have to reduce settings to get them to run around 70 degrees. I have been running MSI Afterburner to check my stats while in game and they are fine. Randomly while playing however, my screen will just go white and I cannot do anything other than a hard restart to fix it. Any ideas?

hi, my computer has been crashing whilst playing games eg: 'war thunder' for the past day or so. neither me nor my friend can work this out and its really bugging me that i cant play games anymore without my computer crashing and shutting down. Has anyone got any ideas about what it could be and before anyone asks, yes i have pushed all the wires in correctly. My thermaltake versa h15 case has only the blue LED on where there is usually a flashing red LED also. Thanks for any assistance.

Greetings. This is met to be an FYI for those who had the same problem. I already got mine fixed. I played NieR for roughly 13 hours across the first week I had the game. All of sudden, I couldn't open the game without it crashing to a white screen, maxing out my cpu 100%. I read around, couldn't find a complete fix. Here is how I fixed my game: >Uninstall Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (both x64 and x86) >Open Command Prompt in administrator mode. >Enter, "bcdedit -set DEBUG OFF" (no quotations) >Turn off your computer >After you turn your computer on, reinstall Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (both x64 and x86) Game should work now. Press Alt + Enter to fullscreen This is the only thing that worked for me. I tried to update/roll back my gpu drivers. As well clean installation of the game. You may give those a shot. It didn't help in my case. Hope this helps! Also good source: https://steamcommunity.com/app/524220/discussions/0/1327844097129846213/

Windows 10 some programs show white screen
steVENOM posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
This is a bump of another user's post that I am also encountering. On my University laptop, I don't expect to play any impressive games, but when trying to open the Minecraft Java Launcher or even something as lightweight as Spotify, I end up having the window show either a white screen, or a black border that outline's the window's parameters with nothing filled in. In the example of the Minecraft launcher, I am able to move my cursor around and click start, because I know where that button is, but when I start it, it just crashes. I found somewhere along the pipeline that disabling my AMD graphics device would allow me to see the windows, which ended up working, but this poses new problems. Again in the case of Minecraft Java, I can then see the launcher, and click play, but then upon launching, it crashes and states that my driver does not support OpenGL. I ran a full scan and repair of all drivers using DriverEasy Pro. And I'm still in the same spot that I was from the beginning. I of course also ran DDU to give that a try and of course came out no luckier than before. If anyone else has any other things in mind that might be able to fix this, I would really appreciate any feedback.- 1 reply

Hi everyone, I have a real piece of work I'm working on. It's a Toshiba Satellite C-850. Had to replace the the cracked screen and the RAM on it. Now on boot up, it's giving me a white screen and you can hear the operating system still working in the background (system sounds, the sound of Windows booting, etc). Did I somehow install the screen wrong? There's only one cable you plug in for the screen so I don't think that's it. The RAM I just installed should be fine (8GB SO-DIMM). Do you think the hard drive or operating system might be corrupted in some way? Maybe the video card is malfunctioning? Thanks for any help in advance.

I'm trying to fix a Galaxy S3 and my main problem is this: White Screen Image I think that it's a hardware issue but in the past few hours I've been trying to flash the stock rom. Unfortunately I haven't had any luck because I get an error from Odin "There is no PIT partition". Odin Error Here's what I tried: -Odin 3.04, 3.07, 3.09 and 3.11.1 -4 different USB cables which I plugged into a USB 2.0 port on the back of my motherboard -reinstalled the Samsung USB drivers -tried to flash on 2 PCs -tried to update via KIES but gets stuck on 0% while updating KIES is not running while I'm using Odin and I paste the path to the .tar.md5 file in the PAD(for older versions) or AP(for newer versions) tab. In both new and old versions Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked and everything else is unchecked. It doesn't seem that I can get into the recovery or get the phone to boot normally because of the white screen with gray lines but I can get into downloading mode and it shows this: -Product name: GT-I9300 -Custom binary download: No -Current binary: Samsung official -System status: Custom If it's a hardware issue then I know that there is no way to fix it. I still think that something can be done and I hope you guys can give me some advice. Thank you.

Hi so i recently bought a new graphics card for my computer to replace the integrated one that was in it, i bought a gtx 970, I bought this so I could play dark souls 3 at a higher frame rate than my previous computer but the problem is that whenever I try to launch the game it will take me through the menu options and then go to either a white, black or grey screen (for some reason it changes). Other games do this as well but not all of them, i tested this out on 4 games. Superhot ran fine, Alien Isolation ran good and MGS 5 had the same crashing issue as dark souls. Apparently this is a driver issue with them conflicting but no matter what I tried to do nothing seems to work, i reset my entire computer, redownloaded the graphics card, tried different options, the only thing that seemed to work was if i was to play dark souls at around 480p but since I spent so much on this card that is unideal to say the least. Please help if you have any ideas.

Hello, I have a problem with my BenQ GL2250-T. This Wednesday my monitor started acting weird. Since then I have a white line through my screen. The monitor still worked but only with that white line through it. Today I powered up my monitor and all of a sudden it gives me this weird screen where the top part works fine but the rest gives a mess of pixels that starts of black and after some time fades to white. I've tried multiple things such as disconnecting the cables and waiting a bit and trying a different computer and a different GPU. But nothing has helped so far. It might be a problem with a capacitor or something but it seems to me that the bezel of this monitor is glued together so I can't take it apart. I hope anyone knows a fix for this problem. All help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

My laptop's screen flash ( turn completely white ) for 0.1 - 0.3 second , but didn't happen very often . its there anything to do with my screen , or does it mean my video card damaged during some heating ( I not usually check my pc's temperature because my CPU never reach 100% before , the highest I get is 96% ) It didn't repeat , after less than a second of white screen nothing happen , everything is normal , few weeks or months and it happen again . Hey guys! First post... Since a few days I have a weird bug: After boot but before the log in-screen the screen is flashing white with colorful dots. I can see and move the mouse, but the keyboard is useless, so I have to restart the PC. This only happens the first time I start the PC on a new day and after the restart everything is fine. I recently installed windows 10 and deleted everything beforehand, but the bug just came up recently (months after the update). What could be broken? Is it maybe a faulty update? I tried to update all drivers, bios and checked the HDDs and RAM for errors. If there is anything else you need to know just ask. My rig should be shown in my profile.

Hello. I finally got around to building a computer and it was working fine until a few days ago I turned it on and something strange happened. Directly after the msi dragon bios prompt screen, when it should be booting Windows, the screen starts flashing white with two black squares on it. It only seems to happen after it has been off for some time, like over night, and after turning restarting it a few times it eventually works. Once it starts up it seems to work fine, I'm kinda stumped at what to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is a video of the problem: https://youtu.be/VXLC52uo9Aw Sorry for potato quality. Hey guys, my parents have a somewhat old dell computer that I recently put a crucial mx100 into and reinstalled the operating system on it. I used the original Hitachi 500GB drive for storage. It has 8GB of RAM, a Intel i7 860 1st-gen processor, and a dell motherboard (not sure which one). The model is a Dell Studio XPS 8000. I think it's about 5 years old?? Anyways, I'm having problems where the computer will completely freeze up, I'll get a white, line-filled, screen, sudden shutdowns, etc. It seems like it could be a blown motherboard capacitor, but I don't see one. The computer was freezing up before I reinstalled, so I do not think it is a corrupted install. Any suggestions/advice?
