22/05/23 UPDATE: War Thunder removes Steam from its featured page on their website. 21/05/23 UPDATE: 20/05/23 UPDATE: Creative Director of Gaijin Entertainment, Kirill Yudintsev, has spoken out about the incident. Summary War Thunder developers recently introduced a slew of in game economy changes that turned the game from "Free-to-play" to "Pay-to-play". The change has been reverted due to massive backlashes from the Forums, Reddit, Russian VK and Chinese Bilibili and has also created a massive review bomb on Steam for the first time. In-depth War Thunder has been on the path of making it harder for normal players to play the game without paying for a decent premium vehicle (that usually cost 60-70 USD), with multiple changes over the course of 10 years that continually made repairing vehicles a lot more expensive without the efforts of improving upon in game rewards. The complaints have existed since 2017 onwards, but it wasn't until only today where the community have had enough and decided to review bomb the game on Steam (as of writing it has nearly 7k negative reviews, up from the usual tens of negatives), while reddit, Russian VK and Chinese Bilibili isn't slowing down on the complains, some even suggesting a boycott for up to 2 weeks. Quotes My thoughts Broadly speaking, this wasn't the first time they've made changes to the in game economy, and also not the first time slowly reducing rewards for even just playing the game. However, this IS the first time that they've made a massive change that it quite literally snapped the entire community, hence the current backlash. Sources Forum post on the reverted changes The planned economy changes The google sheet of all the changes (hard to understand if you don't read between the lines) Reddit post on the start of the Review bombing Steam review page of War Thunder NEW Creative Director's response to the incident NEW Blog post stating on the revision of the in game economy

I usually run KSP, Forza Horizon 3, War Thunder, Terra Tech, Assetto Corsa, Car Mechanic Simulator 2018, BeamNG, and Automation. I know it’s a lot of games so I’ll shorten it to KSP and War Thunder. Would like a link if you could provide it. PC Specs: Ryzen 7 3800x, (Getting this) Trident Z NEO 32gb 3600mhz CL16, Asus TUF X570 PLUS, and EVGA 500w 80+ PLUS (Should be able to see it in my profile) Thank you

I recently got the Sturmpanzer II in War Thunder. After that, I was able to move to the II rank vehicles. However, I could get the J1 panzer without needing the F/J, but couldn't skip the 234/2 and go to the Marder? How does this work? I can skip some vehicles but to move on I have to get the vehicle before it for others?

Greetings dear reader, I bought my First Gaming computer 3 years ago with a Cpu: Fx4300 Gpu: Amd R7 360OC 8gb of ram DDR3 Board: Gigabyte GA970A-DS3P Standard Cooler (small one) Power Supply: is a Corsair VS650 Now this was not good enough for me and a different reason you will read very very soon so 1 year ago i upgraded the PC with Cpu: Fx8370 With a Wraith Cooler Gpu: AMD Rx 470 4gb Strix Same 8gb ram Same GA 970A DS3P Same Vs650 Power supply. For as long as i have it. It tends to crash once every 2 weeks for absolutely no reason (Staring at my background kind of usage). So i decided to upgrade it because it was not quick enough and i thought the problem was related to my CPU or GPU. But after i did this (upgrade) Which i was very proud of : D, it crashes nearly ever 3 hours while playing a specific game (WarThunder Which runs a very smooth 90fps average) The crash is a sort of crash where the screen goes black and the in game sounds glitch and make a 0,3 second loop, the computer then completely locks up and will not recover from it. This Crash is completely random (so i don't got any footage of it) and forces me to hold down the power button and force it to turn off. Now since i really like playing War Thunder i am getting sick of my computer failing on me and i ask you, the very nice community of LinusTechTips to try and help me fix this problem..

I am looking to build a rig that will play Rift, War Thunder, World of Tanks, and Eve Online on max settings. Also most steam games like Prison Architect, Reassembly, Factorio, and others of that nature. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/4kPRwV Also note that I chose the motherboard I did so that in the future I could move to an i5 6600k of i7 and OC if needed. I believe I have choosen pretty good parts. I am not worried about cheap as much as I am future expansion and longevity as I tend to keep computers for 5-8 years before replacing them.

So I was playing War Thunder with my 1660 overclocked, +150 core and +800 memory. The game crashed and both my monitors lost signal for a bit, then it came back with the game closed. It was almost definitely a GPU problem, as my audio from my HDMI stopped working briefly. However, I’ve tested the overclock a lot since then, even turning memory to 999 and it’s been completely fine in a 10 minute furmark, around 7 War Thunder benchmarks, maybe one hour of 1440p Apex Legends, a few Firestrike runs, and a few Unigine Heaven runs. Was the crash related to the overclock, or was it just unrelated?

I’ve been looking for a decent 1440p, 144Hz display for about 2 months now, but still cannot find anything under 250-300 euros/dollars. I value colors, contrast and brightness over response times, but still would really like that 144Hz fluidity, as my most and main played game is War Thunder. For now, the only thing that seemed to kind of fit my needs is the Samsung C27JG52 (1440p, 144Hz, VA, 4ms, curved), at least from the specs, as there isn’t a lot about it online, but recently it went up exponentially in price, at least in my country (Italy). Other options are 1080p 144Hz, from Aoc or Asus, but my GPU (RX580) doesn’t really hold up in that case, because I have to do 4x SSAA otherwise it looks like a**. Does anyone have any recommendations? I’m coming from 1080p 60Hz 9ms IPS.

I have been playing on this laptop for a long time on consistent 60 fps with no issues. However, I downloaded War Thunder from Steam yesterday and it worked well, but after an hour the FPS dropped to 30 and got capped there for no reason. I restarted the game, restarted the PC, disabled V-sync from Nvidia control panel, and deleted the whole game and its driver. Still, the fps starts at 60 and then drops to 30 after some time on all games. Specs: CPU:I5-9300h GPU: GTX 1650 RAM: 8 GB SSD: 512 GB M.2 NVME Battery: Connected all time so no need GPU Driver: 456.38 Overclocked: No Security: The PC was never exposed to apparent Virus or Malware threats Pls help...

Recently, CS:GO just randomly tabs out in a sporadic way (2-4 times in a row), usually a couple times in a session. It basically freezes for a half second, then almost minimizes, and all it says is Counter Strike: Global..... in the top left corner, and the other page i had open before CS. This has never happened before the most recent windows update. The only other info I founds about this told me to turn off sticky keys (which I did) and the problem still continues. Has this happened to anyone else and how did you fix it? If it happened for you in different games, still let me know because it might help me with CS. Thanks

I own an Oculus Rift and recently realized its potential in simulations so I started looking into different control methods for war thunder but I'm not sure what to get. obviously I want this to be immersive and was wondering about any suggestions ~$100-$150 (like a joystick or yolk). also I'm not sure what is used more in the game, joysticks or yolks.

I am having problems with the fans on my Aorus GTX 1080 Ti 11GB. They will often spin up to 100% and they become uncontrollable and will not report the correct fan speed. I have noticed the problem so far after 2 different scenarios. Sometimes after booting the PC. Sometimes after closing War Thunder. I do run some custom settings on my cards because I like to keep my temps low. I initially used the Gigabyte Aorus app to make changes but have since switched to MSI Afterburner. The settings I use are Set custom fan curves - I set them to start at 10% at 45c, stay that way till 50c, then ramp to 100% by 90c. This means the fans won't on/off under low usage, and will run about 70% (I just hear them over ambient noise) at 65c Set thermal throttle at 65c - With maximum quality settings I am still getting +100fps when I'm using the card so this isn't restricting performance. Set power limit to 120%(300w) - 2 x 8pin PCIE rated for 150w. I want the card to have all the juice it requires since I am not concerned about overheating because of other settings. When the problem occurs some things happen The fans no longer report their speed. Tested in Gigabyte Aorus app, MSI Afterburner, and GPU-Z The fans will not respond to any setting changes. The only way I can stop the fans once they go into this mode is to turn the PC off and restart it. A reboot will not work as it leaves the card powered. I have noticed that once this problem has occurred once the fan stop will no longer work. That is to say that when the card is idle and at low temps the fans will not stop like they are supposed to. They will be constantly on. I am guessing at around 10% but can't tell because reporting apps all say the fans are stopped. I can temporarily fix the problem by reflashing the GPU BIOS. The fans will then be idle at low temps. However the problem will randomly occur again. As odd as it may sound I actually suspect it is War Thunder that is causing this issue. That when the problem occurs on reboot it is after playing War Thunder in the previous session. Any ideas on how I might stop this from happening? (without stopping playing WT, and while still setting my GPU settings)

This site is my last hope. Linus' videos helped me when I originally built my computer, and I need help now, so please read and help me out. I built my first Gaming PC about 4 months ago. Here was the build: ASrock 970M pro AMD R9 390 FX-9370 8GB ram Hitachi 7200 RPM 1TB HDD Seidon 120 XL water cooler 1080p AOC monitor Windows 10 On this build, my computer was playing beautifully. I could play war thunder ground forces in some of the most intense situations, and maybe, just maybe, my FPS would drop to 59. MAYBE. But it could handle any game I played, with absolutely no problem. Recently,I'm found myself with some spare money, so I figured I could give my computer a little extra kick. I purchased an MSI 970 gaming mobo, ripjaw X-series 16 GB ram, an AMD fx-8350 (not an upgrade I know, but tests have proven its not the problem), and a Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB SSD. All of my other parts stayed the same. Here's where it all started: my computer can now barely play war thunder ground forces on max at 50 FPS, and all of my other games play oddly too, it feels like my computer is more sluggish and I've lost a collective 10-15 FPS on every game. All of my games are struggling to play, and I have tried almost everything to remedy this. I have already reset windows, swapped around configurations, anything. My PC simply isn't performing like it should. I desperately need help. Any and al suggestions would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: I forgot to mention I have already tried replacing my old parts in my computer, and the problem persists.

Hey guys, I have taken up war thunder lately, and it works decently on my rig for the most part, but when shit goes down (explosions, and smoke), my fps tanks to the 30's, and tht coupled with my monitor leads to some gnarly screen tearing. I brushed it off as I could deal with it, but lately it seems to have gotten worse/ more frequent so I decided to try and find out what was the cause. Since I usually have msi afterburner's overlay running, I can diagnose problems like this, but in this case the gpu usage drops in these sections of intensity, which leaves the cpu to blame. Sure enough, when I checked task manager, (with the graph set to logical cores) one core is being maxed out, while the rest hover around 15%. Due to this changing the settings/ resolution does not really help, as my 780ti can handle the game at 1440p no problem unless I crank up the aa. I have even reinstalled the game, and everything was the same, even down to the core that was being maxed. Same thing happens on my laptop as well, so it is leaving me baffled, as to what I can do to actually play the damn game at a constant fps (its sort of annoying having the fps drop, in the times you need it the most)
