So I was selling my 2yo RTX 3060 on DBA (Danish marketplace for used items). I had set the price a bit high, but within reason (after some research in both new and used prices) to have some wiggleroom to give the buyer a pricecut but still get a decent price. I encountered two types of potential buyers that really started to grind my gears. Type one: This guy started to complain that the price was too high. I said: "okay, that is your opinion. Nobody is forcing you to buy this", and the guy just kept trying to argue that I had priced the GPU too high, without him giving me a counter offer at any point. He said that It would make more sense to buy a new 3060 for a slightly higer price (He compared the price of a MSI Ventus to what I wanted for a MSI Gaming X. I told him that it was a very good way of thinking, he should totally go get a new card then. He didn't cave. After 13 messages back and forth it stopped. Never learned what he was willing to pay... Type two: "I'll give you 50% and im on my way to pick it up". My polite response "Thank you for the offer, but no thank you. It is way below what im willing to accept". In my mind it was more like "ahahahahah.... no." but I do believe in staying polite. One extra persistent bugger kept arguing that I should totally accept as he could come and pick it up same day. Are sellers usually this desperate? This took place on day 2 or 3 of the card being on sale Seriously, what is it with the "quick sale, huge pricecut" attitude? I was in no rush to get it sold, but maybe that is a common occurence? I mean, sure, nothing wrong about trying to lowball, but at least have the decency to accept a "no". In the end I sold it to a very nice young guy from Ukraine for 90 % of the stated price. Put up for sale sunday, sold wensday. Moral of the story: Don't let the inpolite nag you into giving in (if you are certain you have set the price right).

I bought a gpu from eBay an MSI ventus 3x 3070 and I bought a new PSU 750w and for some reason my VGA light keeps turning on and my GPU boots up but gives no signal. Only a couple of times it boots up but only after turning it on & off and switching to my old GPU 1660 and only if bios loads up if bios doesn't load up it'll stay a black screen or rest mode. It's not my cable, I tried reseating both GPU and ram, no loose cables, and I updated bios. I was able to play games perfectly after booting through bios but it's really hard for me to get into bios when my screen doesn't even turn on so I need help. Also if I try to use the ez setup wizard it won't load windows afterwards.

I am considering building a new PC and thanks to the massive increase in prices for this generation of PC hardware, I decided to consider used hardware as a part of the upgrade. Lately I have been watching last-gen Graphics cards to see if I could score a good deal and unfortunately it seems like it is just never going to happen. At this point Ive decided "screw it", Im just going to pay the money and get myself a new Radeon RX 7900-XT because the MSRP has dropped by $100 since launch and now it's a DECENT value (neither good nor bad). I figured I should explain why I am going with a next-gen card despite the rediculous pricing and why I feel like anyone considering a used higher-end card to try and get close to the performance of these next-gen cards should just buy the next-gen instead. Lets start with AMD since it is my card of choice plus the used market seems to be worse on the AMD side of things. So the card I am interested in is the ASRock Taichi 7900-XT for $849.99. I chose this card because my 3440x1440 resolution is fairly demanding and my goal is 120 FPS on High Settings for a nice blend of high refresh rate and high visual fidelity. I chose the Taichi specifically because I enjoy tinkering and overclocking and the Taichi is the best value AIB card right now. The chart below shows the performance differences between the RX 7900-XT and its $200 more expensive cousin, the RX 7900-XTX, at 3440x1440p with completely maxed out/Ultra settings on all games tested. A Taichi 7900-XTX will cost you over $1100. I feel the 7900-XTs performance is more than satisfactory and there will even be a bit of performance headroom in most games for a few years at least, so the additional $250 required to go from a Taichi 7900-XT to a Taichi 7900-XTX simply isn't worth it in my opinion. Only those targeting 3840x2560 4K resolution should consider the XTX from team Red. Now how does this price-to-performance ratio stack up to the used market? Well unfortunately, the used market doesn't even come close. The value you get for the money you pay is substantially better with the 7900-XT than anything on the used market that even comes close to the same performance tier. For example, the average price of a USED RX 6900-XT right now is $700. Thats simply rediculous. The 7900-XT not only has about 15% more performance than last-gen's flagship 6900-XT, but its also a brand new card, with a warranty, piece of mind, and no history to worry about. Its also got more features and updated I/O being a next-gen card. A USED 6900-XT would only start to make any sense whatsoever if you could find one for $500 or less, and that just isn't possible right now. Even the 6800-XT isn't selling used for that low of a price. Im not sure when people went absolutely insane and forgot that their used hardware isn't worth anywhere near the same money as new hardware but consider this when selecting used hardware: 1.) Its used, this automatically lowers its value by at least 30% because it no longer has a warranty and is no longer new and you are taking a risk. 2.) Value must be compared to what is available at the time of sale. So because a 6900-XT is used and 15% slower than a 7900-XT, a used 6900-XT's asking price should be 15% lower than the 7900-XT because of the performance gap, and then ANOTHER 30% lower because it is used and you are taking a risk. Obviously, a $700 asking price on a used 6900-XT is simply rediculous and thats all there is to it. Now lets take a look at the NVIDIA side of things. The news is ever so slightly better but not much. The very cheapest new RTX 4070-Ti will cost you $829.99, so that's not even beginning to look at nice AIB cards with good cooling designs, thats bottom of the barrel. Well, a used RTX 3090 is about $675-$700 and the performance is about 15% less than the 4070-Ti. Ugh... Its pointless, its completely pointless. Once again, the asking price of the USED RTX 3090 makes its price-to-performance ratio about the same as the 4070-Ti despite the fact that the 4070-Ti is newer with more features, a warranty, and no history to worry about. So in conclusion, if you were hoping to save some cash by buying used flagship cards, just forget it. There is absolutely no point whatsoever. The smartest options available are: Save up the extra money from purchasing a last gen flagship and just spend the extra $100-$150 on next-gen instead. Or - Wait for the less expensive next-gen offerings to hit the market and hopefully that will force the used market pricing to come down once they realize just how bad the pricing is. Either way, looks like I have a 7900-XT Taichi in my future .

Budget (including currency): $1,000 USD Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Valorant, League of Legends, Minecraft, Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Peripherals don't need to be included. Upgrading from a laptop, buying in December/January, 60fps 1080p. Hello, I'm trying to help a friend build a pc. I normally would advise them to build their own (or I would build it for them), but it's kinda hard to get hands on a GPU these days. I was wondering what good avenues there are for getting a PC in this current climate. It seems that prebuilt companies are just gonna be a ripoff and give you stupid configs like a 3060 with 8gb ram. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm considering trying to buy a used card from ebay or something like that. I was just hoping I could get some experienced opinions. To clarify I've built many PCs myself, I'm just not sure how to navigate this shortage effectively.

Hello everyone I hope you are all good. So I could use some help. At the moment I'm playing on my PS5 and recording gameplay with my acer laptop using a razer ripsaw HD capture card. The laptop has an Intel i5 inside (5years old) and a nvidia 945M. And so I only can record in 720p because my laptop is already at the limit. Now I wanted to build a PC soon with the following parts: CPU: ryzen 7 5800 or Intel i7 10700K (depends on the price when I decide to order. GPU: RTX 3070 (or new radeon if better pricing) Motherboard: depending on the CPU, I'm open for tips PSU: 850W 80+Gold by corsair RAM: 32GB 3200 or 3600 corsair vengance Storage: 1TB samsung m.2 SSD + 3 TB seagate barracuda HDD Case: Corsair 4000x rgb (not 100% sure about the name) Cooling: corsair icue capellix 240mm aio + 1 extra corsair fan for the rear exhaust This is going to be a complete white build (except the Motherboard) Now the actual question: The PC is going to be used for Recording/Streaming/gaming. But at the moment I will not pay 1000$+ for an 3070 so I wanted to ask you guys if you think that if I buy an used gtx 970 for about 150$, will it be enough to record gameplay from my PS5 in 1080p? Or do you recommend any other used gpu for max 200$? I just wanted to improve the quality of the content I'm making, so I was thinking maybe at the moment I could buy an old gpu for recording and editing and when the prices are normal again I will upgrade to the 3070. Thanks for your help

I'm afraid I'd buy a cheap one for that price and get scammed

Hi, i was wanting to buy a used cheap gpu that looks good (i dont game much) for a while and i found rx570 4g that is used for mid load editing and used for 3 years from my friend. I'm actually not gaming that much and if i do i dont even go higher than mid settings not because i can't. So gpu is on the way coming to me, i wondered if there would be an issue about a gpu that is been used 3 years not opened even once. Furmark score is 60+ at 1080p 8xmsaa. Note: gpu is not used for gaming.

I am looking to buy a used 2070 Super, but I'm a bit paranoid about it's condition. I feel like the manufacturer seal over the screw has been tampered with. Should I be concerned buying this card?

Hi, I've found a used 2080 msi gaming x trio for a really good price (about 630$). The problem is that it has been used for 2 years already. Is that a big deal? I also only have a i5 4690k with h97n motherboard to test it on. Will it last much longer because im not gonna upgrade for probably at least ~5 years

So a while back, I finally made the switch from console to PC and actually built my own system for the first time. And since the GPU driving it all was the GTX 1070 Superclocked by EVGA, I also expressed a desire to upgrade my monitor. My intention was to simply get a second 1080p monitor, though with a 144hz refresh rate. Instead, I'm unexpectedly gifted a brand-new 4K display, the ASUS MG24UQ. Unsurprisingly, I immediately fell in love with it and wouldn't trade it for the world. I was shocked by the difference in image quality even in programs as simply and visually bland as MS Word. However, the shameless graphics whore part of my brain is now in full effect, because now that I've actually seen what games can look like in 4K, playing them in 1080p on my new monitor makes them look annoyingly blurry, and the GTX 1070 has thus far proven incapable of hitting a stable 60fps at 4K even with the settings dialed down massively, and on older games to boot! Both Mass Effect 3 and Alan Wake were basically unplayable when I dialed the resolution up to 4K, and that honestly drives me a bit crazy. So now that Nvidia has released the GTX 1080ti, I've been very seriously considering making the upgrade. However, I can really only justify this upgrade if I sell my current 1070, and since I'm still incredibly new to the whole custom PC/PC Gaming world, I have utterly no idea how to go about this or what kind of price I can reasonably ask. Anyone have any tips/advice to offer?

So I decided to sell my PS4 and gpu, my ps4 sold within a day of me posting the ad on Kijiji. I listed my gpu ( R9 380x ) for 275 cad, and I had only one offer for 200. Should I look to sell it on eBay? Or Amazon? Or is there somewhere better to sell used GPU's?

Hi, I'm in the market for a graphics card upgrade and my budget is pretty much 200. Here's my current list. I'm upgrading from an HD 7970, which I've had since August and while it was good for the price ($85 used), it bottlenecks ever since I upgraded to a Ryzen 2600X. I'm torn between a used R9 Fury X and a GTX 1070. I understand that in the majority of games, the 1070 performs about 10-15% percent better, however the Fury X comes on top in some games. They both cost $210 on eBay right now, so the 1070 seems like the obvious choice. But I have a FreeSync 75Hz Monitor, which the Fury X is compatible with. I plan on playing intensive games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Metro: Exodus when they come out (I'm getting the card for Christmas). So the question is, which card should I go with? The Fury X comes with a water cooler (which would be amazing) and FreeSync. The 1070 has undeniable good performance for the price. Is FreeSync really worth it? Another option is the R9 Fury, which I can get right now for $140. It's not water cooled, and has about 10% worse performance than the Fury X - but it does have FreeSync, and that spare $70 can be used towards other important things. I'd like to keep the budget as low as possible, and throughout my incredibly thorough research (searching eBay for random cards off the top of my head), there is not an in-between. I've been told about the benefits of FreeSync, but I just don't know how beneficial it really is (my HD 7970 is not compatible with it). What should I go with? Any input is appreciated.

Hello! I want to buy a (used)gpu and I've came across this card for not that much money and I'm wondering if it's good enough to buy it or should I buy Asus card(Cerberus GeForce GTX 1070 Ti) for about 50$ more. I've heard somewhere that size of the Zotac card doesn't affect thermals and OC capabilities very much, but I doubt that. Have any of you had some experience with this card?

So I'm building a system for a friend and his little brother, and I was going to buy a used 1070 from another friend of mine to use in this system. Well, it turns out that card is no longer for sale, and I'm going to have to look for a different listing. So, how much should I be looking to pay for a used 1070 in good condition? The one from my friend was quoted at $170 the last time I asked, but I've seen listings for up to $300. Also, are there any other cards in the $150-$200 range that I should consider with comparable performance if I can't find a 1070 for a good price? Thanks

I have found a good deal for a Used (for approx 8 months) Asus GTX 1060 6GB OC edition for ₹ 15000 ( 220 $ ) near my location. Should i buy it ? Will there be any wear and tear of performance in such used graphics card ? The seller said that, he haven't tried overclocking or tried mining it and he does have a 2 Year warrenty left for the product What all things should i check before buying such a used graphics card ? what all precautions and risks are there in buying such graphics card ?

hello guys i want your opinion on this : i can buy a gtx 1080 used for about 2 months (under warratnty until 2021) but i fear that when i will buy it, the new 11 series cards will come out with better performance for less money the used gtx 1080 for 450€ (the new card now cost around 670€) when gtx 1080 came out in 2016 here in slovakia new cards cost about 780-800€ also i want to sell my gtx 970 for about 150€ do you think its price will fall when 11 series will come out what do you think about this ?

Hi I am going to upgrade my PC. Which GPU will last longer? A used 970 4gb or a used 1060 3gb? (The stuff i will throw in the new system: Is there any other used or new gpu under 150 that you would suggest? Thx for your comments!

I found a used R9 380 for 130$ and an HD 7970 for 89$.... Which is the better purchase?

Hey guys I'm just looking for some second opinions on my buying dilemma. Looking to buy a used video card off Kijiji and I cannot make a decision. My options are: - Zotac GTX 1050Ti 4GB listed at $180 CAD - Sapphire Tri-X R9 290 4GB listed at $180 CAD - MSI RX 470 4GB listed at $200 CAD Some other important information is that the power supply for the system is a 500w Rosewill unit so I have some doubts about the R9 290 using that psu. Basically I wonder if I should go for a newer card such as the RX 470 or 1050Ti, even if it is a little bit slower just for the fact that they are a newer architecture and perhaps have better driver support. Any insight you guys can give is appreciated. Thanks!
