Hi! I'm currently looking for two monitors, one for more high-quality gaming and another for less intensive games (League of Legends, CS: GO, etc). For my new setup, I will be using a GTX 1070 and an I5 CPU from Skylake. I am aware there are different types of panels and refresh rates. Could you guys just throw me some models that you think would be best for me? Thank you for your time!

Is the Dell inspiring 7567 worth the price with the tn panel and don't mention to buy it with an ips panel I live in india so we still don't have an option

Hello, i have to decide between the Dell S2716DG and the Acer Predator XB271 Hu (TN panel version). (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01784K78A/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A16ZP7NJD4O2OY) (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B01EN5JN5K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A133RA3ZUAU4I7). They both have TN panels (I know the Acer one has an IPS panel normally, but this is the TN version that is a good amount cheaper, so im going with that one). They are very equal and i have difficulty deciding between them. Any help will be appreciated

Just got it and the colors look horrid, but heard the settings can be tweaked to make it somewhat usable Can anyone provide me settings for Gaming (mainly Overwatch) and another set of settings for watching movies, slight editing Ive been searching and most settings Im getting are of a xl2411p/xl2411z and not my model

I am trying to choose between these two: - AOC G2590PX - https://us.aoc.com/en/gaming-monitors/g2590px - ASUS VG258QR - https://www.asus.com/ph/Monitors/VG258QR/overview/ It will be used 60% for software development, and 40% for gaming. I realized I would prefer monitors that you can pivot (helpful for programming). I have searched for reviews all over the internet for these two, and the most common complaints I have found are about the colors (which is obviously understandable for me since they both use TN panel but not really a dealbreaker because a lot of people said the colors can just be adjusted to the point they are tolerable). I also read one or two comments about how the text is unreadable for them, and this is the thing I'm really, really worried about. I will most likely be staring at this screen for hours, reading code. MSI MAG241C was also in my options, but I removed it since I read people saying they experience a lot of ghosting when gaming (and also has no pivot). On paper, the two are almost identical. If anyone has any more 23"/24"/25" 144hz suggestions though, I'm all ears. Will be partnered with Ryzen 5 3600 + RTX 2060, if that helps.

My current build is a R5 2600 and GTX 1060. I am willing to play at low settings if it means to hit the higher FPS mark. I first want to purchase a monitor and see if things work out for me. A GPU upgrade is planned in the future. I usually have difficulty in spotting objects and noticing things quickly enough in games. I really can't enjoy a lot of what I used to. I'm hoping a high refresh rate will aid me. Not sure on price, but I am a budget guy. G-sync certified prefer. However G-sync compatible will also do. 24 inch to 27 inch. Ideally 1440p, Lowest response time, with least amount of ghosting, motion blur, etc And having Anti-glare (matte finish or something) Sadly there are no local stores here with the monitors on display. I am open to the following brands, but if you have something else in mind let me know please- Acer Asus LG AOC does come to mind but I don't know what kind of service they have where I live. I am reading all I can on the subject. The major problem is picking a model considering the current build, budget is also a thing.

i just bought a monitor cause i wanted to upgrade fro 60hz and 5ms to 144 with 1ms. i have seen a lot of people say that TN panels are really bad and stuff to do with colours (i dont really know much about monitors) so i was wondering if this was a bad idea? i already ordered it and it was on sale and fit my budget perfectly and personally im not too picky and dont really notice colour differences until things are side by side. will this monitor be fine for 1080p gaming at 144hz with freesync? old monitor: https://www.amazon.ca/BenQ-9H-LE5LB-QPA-21-5-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitors/dp/B019EFMK1I/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1548962998&sr=8-3&keywords=21.5inch+monitor new one: https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824011259

Hey all, I want to start with my setup being Nvidia with a GTX 1080. I am currently running an older Monoprice Zero-G 1440p 60hz IPS Monitor. I thoroughly enjoy the quality of the IPS but want to step up to the higher refresh rate (i.e. 144hz). The games I intend to play are mostly competitive FPS (R6 Siege, CS:GO) but I also play games which are still in alpha stages so not yet fully optimized (SCUM, Squad v12). I have found the two monitors listed below for $400.00 used and would ultimately like to know would the Dell be worth the panel downgrade in visuals for the g-sync, or would the Asus be best to go with for the IPS and freesync (which would remain unused)? Dell S2716DGR 1440p 144hz (TN Panel) w/ G-Sync Asus Mg279Q 1440p 1444hz (IPS Panel) w/ Freesync Ultimately, I don’t know if the IPS panel is worth sacrificing for the perceivably small performance upgrades and G-Sync as I have not been able to experience other monitors in person. Apologies for being a bit long winded but appreciate the input.

Is anyone currently using this monitor ? https://www.asus.com/za/Monitors/ROG-SWIFT-PG27VQ/ How is it ? Any really bad or annoying issues with it that you only realize after using it for a while? I'm upgrading from a 60Hz panel and have a GTX 1070 in my system

Hi everyone! I was looking at this Monitor (https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236828). Has anyone purchased refurbished from Newegg before? Is it an actual factory refurb or something that Newegg does internally? Also if there's any different recommendation I'd be open to hearing other suggestions.

Hi Guys, I am wondering if you can help with a small question. For sure my question could be answered by doing some real tests but in my country it is quite difficult to do so as big stores stock mainly mainstream, usually cheap equipment that you are not really allow to test in the way I would like so I hope someone here did something like that already and can share some results. I am looking to buy new monitor around 27 inches maybe bigger. There are IPS and TN displays on the market – I understand what are the differences between them and I would like my black to be black so more likely it will be IPS panel. I am not a gamer but of course like to play some Start Craft from time to time. I mainly use a laptop with a docking station and DVI connection – it also can be HDMI or Display Port but currently I have a monitor that uses a DVI connection. My question is obviously what to buy, but there is one important condition that I have to take under consideration and cannot test it live anywhere to check if that will actually work. I have bad eyesight, wearing high minus glasses, what makes me short sided what in practice means that I need to seat close to the monitor and need all my stuff to be bigger than for normal person. Of course I am not talking here about massive icons and stuff and I am comfortable with 1280x1024 on 19” 4x3 LCD. I am not going higher on resolution as then all become to small for me to work with. At work I use 27” monitor and also maintaining similar ration to keep all big enough for me to see – I know it is a waste of space on the screen but I cannot do much about my eyes. I am not sure what exactly monitor I have at work but it is not 4K and it is TN panel. As I mentioned I want to buy 4K IPS monitor – mainly for its contrast – it will enhance my vision while programing or simply working with web or IDE. I do not do much graphic like Photo Shop sometimes PS Light Room. I am wondering if buying 4K has any sense for me? I won’t be using enormous resolution that 4K coms with but I value pixel density in 4K panel what theoretically means in half max resolution all is still going to be sharp and application menus, icons etc. will remain big enough for me to work with it comfortably, is that true? Or maybe Full HD 1080 is good enough in such configuration – will I see the difference between 4K and FHD using the same resolution on both? I know that in gaming or movie watching with native resolution for 4K and FHD from short distance I might see the difference what would indicate that 4K for my purposes and with the conditions I have might be better but this is my theory that I cannot test anywhere. Guys please help and give me some real live input so I can decide what is best for me, my eyes can see very well in short distance and I do not want to see badly shaped letters or lines drown diagonally as bunch of stair stack one at another – this is big exaggeration but I want you to understand what I mean. Thanks for any input maniuch

Hi, Just been playing around with my monitors colour and contrast but unfortunately in the G-Sync mode I'm limited to only a few options Brightness, Contrast, Low Blue light, Black eQualizer and AMA. I'm using the Benq xl2420g and love G-sync but I just can't calibrate it right and yes I know its a TN panel. So any suggestions on the best calibration settings for this monitor?

Just got 2 of these at work today and boy are they nice....they are TN panel displays. I looked them up and they are about $265 on newegg. They have VGA, DVI-D and Display port inputs. No headphone jack or speakers though I would have liked to have the headphone jack available at least, otherwise they are nice displays. http://www.hp.com/united-states/campaigns/elite-products/assets/elitedisplay_e221.pdf Anybody else use these? *edit Oops I realized I just posted this in the wrong thread, Mods could you move please? Thanks and my apologies....

So, it's my 18 birthday in a week and my parents wanted to know what I wanted. I told them my cpu, mobo, psu, and cpu cooler are all falling apart and sent them my pcpartpicker list that had the stuff I wanted in it. It also happened to have a bunch of other stuff in it for a dream build. Well, turns out, my parents are going waaaay overboard. My family is outrageously well off (dad makes bank x9000) but we're pretty humble about it. (donating a lot of it and not being spoiled pricks) I've always had to pay for my own pc and build it myself. Well, my mom left her amazon account open, and I happened to catch a glimpse of 3 Asus 144hz 1ms response time monitors. Shit blew my mind. They spent a grand just getting monitors. But then I thought "fuck, how is my 7870 gonna drive that?" so my question is, what would be the ideal gpu setup to run a surround setup? I would imagine dual 780ti's. TLDR: parents are blowing massive amounts of cash on a new pc for my 18th bday. Caught a glimpse of 3 badass monitors that they spent over a grand on. What gpu setup would be ideal the drive a surround setup? Also, I noticed the monitors are all TN panel. I'm a little worried about the viewing angles. Thoughts?

Just thought some people might be interested in picking up the new monitor 4K monitor that debuted at CES 2014. Its release price was $700 but if you use a coupon code(QG3G$33HH3QP0) you can already get it for $630 which is a more appealing price point. Check it out, just thought I would leave this here and see what kind of response I get. P.S. you can tell me if I was stupid for posting this, like if everyone already knows or i posted in the wrong place. Shiloh S. Edit: Cant believe i forget the link, was going to link http://bensbargains.net/bargain/dell-28-ultra-hd-3840-x-2160-4k-28-monitor-630-at-dell-116708/ I did not see that it was expired but i do think its a different coupon code, try this Linus QZLZVG878LG5V6 , and if that doesn't work use the code they give you for 10% off

Hi everyone After a whole year of using a 32 inch TV as a monitor I finally decided to get a real monitor. The monitor that I bought is the LG22EN33 and it cost around 100 euros. The specifications are these: 1920x1080 21.5 inches TN panel 75Hz Pros Cheap Good enough brightness Good color reproduction for the price Cons Bad build quality VGA only I've been gaming at least 2 hours everyday on it and I need to say that I have had an enjoyable experience without paying much. For the general user that surfs the web, watches movies,YouTube videos and plays games for fun and not competitively this monitor is perfect. To conclude,if you are on a budget or coming from a lower resolution monitor or a TV,this monitor will serve you well. Score 3/5 (if 5 is this:http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&cs=04&sku=320-2676 since this is the best monitor I have used for more that a day)

Hey, I am looking at upgrading monitors from one old lg, and was wonderign if this was any good for gaming: http://www.amazon.co.uk/VN247H-23-6-inch-Widescreen-Multimedia-1920x1080/dp/B00A4415KG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405460082&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+vn It is a ips with i love and the frame is narrow but the down side is that it is only 60-75hz what do you think? I don't really want a TN panel with fast response times but with a price of veiwing angels, colours that are less than good. please help. (p.s what setup shall I have them? I want to have upto three and i am considering get a triple monitor stand and having them all in potrait mode.) Thanks for reading.

I purchased this monitor from BuyDig as manufacturer refurbished and here are my thoughts PROS: -comes with v2 firmware. -packed well in a brown box. -comes with all the accessories like the retail version. -the best color accuracy Ive seen on a TN panel w/ calibration settings. -massive improvement in terms of eye comfort. -make games extremely responsive (almost no input lag) and smooth -Low Blue Light actually works in reducing eye strain -No glare/reflection on either the screen and screen bezel -120Hz for best compromise for motion and image quality or 128Hz for brightest image with 0.5ms persistence "BB strobe utility) -tweakable with Blur Buster Strobe Utility and ToastyX CRU(to increases brightness and lowers input lag and ghosting) CONS: -there is still noticeable ghosting and crosstalk compared to CRT -not an IPS -screen sharpness is mediocre (it uses medium AG coating) -144Hz is unusable for me (ToastyX CRU tweak for brightness and ghosting doesn't work, drop in image quality) -out of box settings and calibration is unbearable (seriously you should absolutely calibrate this monitor to be usable) Sure this is not an IPS and comparing it side by side with my Dell 2007WFP S-IPS, the colors look somewhat dull but not bad. This Benq actually has better white and black than my Dell. Viewing angles are what typically you would expect from a TN panel, there is color shift(orange) as soon as you view the from an angle. If you are looking for the fastest (input lag), smoothest (little motion blur), best eye comfort, good color reproduction, this is the closest thing your gonna get to a CRT at the moment. My settings for the monitor are:
