  1. I have a 2 year old acer predator helios 300 and it was fine until last week, I decided to use Parton the discs and I got a disc failure warning then stopped the partitioning, ever since that day when I open my laptop the system temp gets high instantly it get to 70-80 deg and I always have to restart the laptop for it to have normal temps which is like 43 deg so does anyone know how to fix this issue it's really annoying
  2. Hello to you all! Is a pleasure for me to post a thread inside this fantastic community! (I will ask you to have patience/apologize about my english, because im italian and my english sucks) I got a problem with my RTX 3090Ti, in the last days i noticed that playing PUBG or Alan Wake 2 or CS2, im getting High Temperatures. (Like 85-89°) Yesterday I opened the gpu without any problem and re-applied the thermal paste "Artic MX4", but for some 30-40 minutes everything was normal at 65° after went damn hot again to 85-89°. So i don't really know what to do, because is the first time this things happen to me. I was thinking two things, undervolting or thermal pads change, what should i do? My PC is composed by: I7-14700kf - (CPU Temperatures: 36° in idle, on stress 60-65° not more.) NZXT 240 - Kraken AIO. 32gb 3600MHZ Z790 - Aeorus DDR4 Elite Ax - V. "F10c" Bios 1000W Asus Gaming Case Corsair 4000D - (The side-glass panel getting very hot too.) Case fans orientantion / airflow: 1 Fan 120mm in the back - 2 fans 240MM AIO Radiator oriented up (throwing air outside from up) 3 fans 120mm putting inside air in the front. like in the example: (I play normally in 3440x1440 and i got other 2 monitors connected for a total of 3 monitors.) Any suggestion?
  3. Hello. For a long time now (I believe, since I built my PC a year or so ago), I've been getting high temperatures just by interacting with the UI on YouTube's webpage. My PC has had good thermals everywhere else that I've seen, and since I always have a temp sensor runnimg, I can check constantly and would notice if I had issues anywhere else. (See below playlist for footage of other scenarios and their temperatures) This is a problem to me because I'll be watching a YouTube video and not moving the cursor or pressing any keys, and my temps will be not much higher than idle, (Low 30-35 degrees celcius) But as soon as I interact with YouTube's UI, especially the video player, my temps will spike. These spikes vary a decent amount going as high as 75 degrees celcius, but are usually around 60-65 degrees. So when I just want to adjust the volume or skip ahead, it'll spike and my fans will ramp up until I stop. This has been very annoying, and makes me not want to use YouTube at all on my computer, and instead opt to just watch them on my phone. Interestingly, It seems that this does not happen when watching an imbedded youtube video in Discord. This is the only embedded player I've tested it with though. I've recorded the issue along with recordings of other scenarios to compare temperatures with - Link to playlist HERE - Only the first video is important, and maybe the two after that. The rest are supplementary. I've tested mixes of other webpages (with and without video players), settings, entire browsers, and extensions, but it's always the same as far as I can tell. When I tested with a different browser, I tested it with default settings and configuration, so no extensions. Although uBlock, which I use on my main browser, actually improves the spikes. I even tried Opera's "Gaming Browser" thing which allows you to set a CPU/RAM limiter. I set the stricted limit I could, and while it lagged due to that limit, it still spikes my temperatures. You can find a link to my PC specs here: PCPartPicker For what is not on there, I'm on windows 10 64-bit, version 21H1 build 19043.1706. My browser was Chrome, but recently I switched to Brave. (As mentioned above, I've tried every browser I could think of- it happens on all of them). Extensions I use are uBlock and a popup blocker. Since the issue still happens with no extensions however, these should not be the issue. Also, I have no antivirus except Windows Defender. Thank you for anyone who takes the time to try to help me out with this. I'm pretty out of ideas and this issue has been annoying me for a long time. I've made a genuine effort to make this post as helpful to anyone reading it as I can, though I'm not happy with how much of a wall-of-text it is. I hope it is alright. TL;DR Summary: Issue - YouTube's web UI causes high temperatures while interacting with it. (Doesnt happen with embedded YouTube in discord?) What I've tried - Different browsers, extensions, settings. (Even OperaGX's CPU/RAM limiter) No other thermal issues in any other use-case with my PC. Somehow it's just YouTube.
  4. New to LTT forums so I hope this is the right place to ask. In HWInfo, my normal "GPU Temperature" is usually fine, maxing out at 70C, but my hotspot temp consistently gets to 90-95 under moderate load, and playing intensive games like Cyberpunk can bring it up to 105 or so. I've tried opening up my case and pointing a fan on full-blast at it to see if it was just an airflow issue, but that only decreased temps by 2-5C. I've also tried some of the basics like updating drivers and dusting my card with compressed air. The only thing left I can think of is to repaste, but I'm not an expert at this stuff and I don't want to ruin my graphics card in the middle of an already busy semester. In case it matters, my card is the MSI Ventus XS OC 2080 Super.
  5. Just swapped out my dead AIO for a Noctua NH-D15 and was wondering if these temps were normal. CPU is an i9-9900K. For context, was playing Overwatch 2. When playing Starfield my temps maxed out at 85. Ambient temperature is around 27.5 C.
  6. Hi everyone, I'm new to the LTT Forums so hopefully this is an ok place to post. I currently own a Razer Blade 15 Advanced with an i7-10875H and an RTX 3070 (95W TDP) and I've had it for about two and a half years. About every 6 months, I open it up and clean the dust out of the fans and the heatsink using compressed air, but I have noticed recently that the CPU is idling at about 70 to 80 degrees Celsius even after most of the dust is removed (at least from what I can see). The GPU idles around 50 degrees which I'm not worried about. When I first bought it, it was idling at around 30 to 50 degrees and cleaning it would help a bit, but over time it still seems to be getting hotter. I don't live in a dusty environment and the ambient temperature is always around 20 degrees at the moment. The temperature is not currently a problem unless I load it (and then I just figure it's a laptop so I'm expecting throttling and 95 to 100 degrees anyway), but it is currently winter where I live and it might become more of a problem in summer. Should I be looking to replace the thermal paste? I am comfortable with doing so, but I would rather avoid doing it if it isn't necessary since laptop components are particularly delicate. My laptop is also my only computer. Are there any other ways I can decrease my temperatures while still maintaining performance? I have seen that some solutions involve undervolting, but I have little experience with altering voltages and clock speeds. At least from what I can see, there is not a huge amount of information about this online, and what is there appears dependent on specific hardware and situations. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  7. I tried to look this up before asking but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for so I figured I would make a new post. I am using a new 5700xt Thicc III from XFX. I am mining through NiceHash while I do work to make a little extra money. I upped the fan speeds to where they are operating around 90% right now. My current temperatures are as follows. GPU Temp: 67c GPU hot spot: 78c Memory Temp: 88c What is the difference between these three temps and specifically, what is memory temp and should it be that high? Are they all in the normal range? Thanks!
  8. Hello. My current build is: Ryzen 3 3100 MSI A320M-A Pro Max 5500xt 8gb 16gb ram 3200mhz And lately I've been having some problems with the CPU temps, they are ALWAYS +50 degrees, and I don't think that's good at all. So I've been planning on undervolting the CPU. Now, i know that my MOBO doesn't support Overclocking, but does it support Undervolting? Thanks
  9. Hi im new to these forums but im posting about my new pc build. Here are the specs Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X570-F Gaming CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X GPU: ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3080 10GB Gundam Edition CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 Chromax RAM: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32GB (2x16) 3600MHz CL16 Case: Fractal Design Meshify 2 White PSU: Corsair RM850 The main issue ive come accross is that the CPU runs incredibly hot while idle and while gaming, i was hitting a max of 89c during a game of Battlefield V and hovering around 35-60c idle. My current case cooling configuration is as goes. 2 front mounted 140mm case fans provided by my Fractal Design Meshify 2 and 1 Rear mounted 140mm Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition acting as the exhaust. I have since ordered 4 more 140mm Corsair QL140's in order to replace the current fans i have but am unsure if that would fix my issues with CPU temps. I've already tried reapplying thermal paste to the cooler and although that showed *slight* improvement over my previous temps its nothing worth really mentioning. Attached are images of the system the get a better grasp of the whole build. Any help would be appreciated thanks! P.S. Im aware of my messy PCIE power cables...
  10. Okay so ive been trying to get better at overclocking on my ryzen 2600, 16g corsair lpx @3200mhz, gtx 1650 super, 750w seasonic all on an asrock b450mstarted. I started with a cheap air cooler and about a week ago ended up instaling a 30mmx360mm radiator w/ 3 fans at 900rpm dedicated for cpu cooling. So custom loop, just for the cpu. With the air cooler i would idle anywhere from 39-44c. Now i idle anywhere from 29-40c and all that is stock no oc. I guess i just expected better more consistent cooling and not to have it spiking to 40c so frequently with such a big radiator on it. is that normal? Should i re apply thermal paste? It looks like on hw monitor my 3rd and 4th core at like 91/99c respectively and i feel like that means something is wrong, but it could also just mean im not reading hw monitor correctly. help? Thank You!!!
  11. Hi all, I am experiencing some strangeness on my 3600x, and I am trying to figure out what is at fault. I run it on a Gigabyte X370 AORUS Gaming K7 with the latest BIOS, with a Deepcool Captain 240 AIO watercooler and 16GB of Samsung B-die RAM. My PSU is a modular Corsair 650W one, don't remember the model but it was either gold or platinum 80+ rated. Initially I had only enabled PBO (advanced, 10x, +200Mhz, motherboard limits) on the BIOS but due to my need for increased performance on Cyberpunk (futile, I know) I started monitoring the speeds and temps more closely. What I found out was that while playing the game I saw max core speeds of around 4.1Ghz, which lead to trying cinebench - that was running up to a max of 4.0Ghz. All this was with temperatures around 70C. Even on single core Cinebench tests the highest I saw was between 4.2 and 4.3Ghz. This seemed strange to me, so I installed Ryzen Master that said max speed was 4600 on the CCX, applied AutoOC and left PBO on at the BIOS. All this changed was that Cinebench started at 4.05-4.1Ghz for a couple of seconds, and then dropped back to 4.0. At this point I started asking myself if it is the motherboard due to it being X370 and not very good at the PBO stuff, the AIO, the CPU, the PSU, etc. I did a lot of things after this including multiple CMOS resets, RAM overclock tests (tried with default 2133 speed too), Fabric speed tests, played with voltages and LLC and found another "bug" where if I set dynamic voltage on the BIOS, not matter what I add or subtract it always shows 1.1V in windows. The AIO is on top of the case, now configured as intake (used to be exhaust) with open case and no intake filter/restrictions. So I opened Ryzen Master and started manually overclocking - I reached 4.250 on all cores with a voltage of 1.18 to 1.20 but got very strange temp readings while running Cinebench - immediate jumps to 85 - 92C specifically, after which I stopped pushing. I reseated the AIO and reapplied thermal paste just in case with no change. When remounting the AIO plate the paste pattern looked normal before I cleaned it off, but I had mounting issues with it in the past on my R7 1700. Does anyone here have a clue as to what might be going on here and possibly any suggestions so I can ideally avoid ending up in a mental hospital? Thanks
  12. At what temperatures should my CPU and GPU be when no programms/games are going considering an ambiant temperature of 23°C (73.4°F)? My GPU is a GTX 1060 6GB with the normal air cooler and my CPU is an Intel i7-8700 (non k) with the intel stock cooler.
  13. Hi, When my pc not doing anything hard things (just mails were open in Chrome and CPUID HWMonitor was open in back) I saw a Gigabyte System Information Viewer (SIV) "high temperature system alert" notification pop up window for a few seconds. OK, I have this software and I configured in the software a 80°C high CPU temperature alert in past (a half year ago) but my CPU never went up above 65°C. Furtunately I had opened CPUID HWMonitor earlyer so I checked it and this shows the CPU's max. temperature was 45°C. So I don't know why I saw the SIV "high temp system alert". I updated the Gigabyte APP Center few days ago, so it's just a bug? Or something wrong with my pc? I observed too HWMonitor shows different temperatures than SIV. SIV shows ~10°C less. Another thing... I saw extereamly high max temperatures in CPUID HWMonitor's TMPIN0-5 section after SIV's "high temp system alert" popped up (eg. 124°C). I attach a screenshoot of this. Reassure me that everything is fine with my pc. I changed power chord yesterday, because the original seasonic power chord was too loose and heard some electrical spark noise around... 14. Hey, I just wanted to share my CPU temps using the NZXT Kraken X63 280mm AIO and my i7-10700k running at 4,70GHz. First off, I am not having any OC or extreme fan curve, this config is pretty much stock like anyone would be using it. The average room temp is 23°C. My case is the BeQuiet! Pure Base 500, the radiator is mounted in the front and the fans are pushing air in. AIDA64 benchmark, 10 Minutes, Profile "Performance": 69°C AIDA64 Benchmark, 10 Minutes: Profile "Silent": 71°C With the air cooler I was using before (BeQuiet! Dark Rock 4), I was having following results: AIDA64 Benchmark, 10 Minutes: 98°C, Max. Throttle: 13% As I mentioned, I am using the 2 radiator fans do push air in (intake) and 2x BeQuiet! Pure Wings 2 as exhaust fans. From my experience, I can fully recommend the X63. It is not too loud and gave me a good 20°C-30°C difference from my previous Dark Rock 4. Have a nice day and a happy new year, Marcel
  15. Hello , Its my first post on the community. I lately installed a custom water loop (soft tube) on my system. CPU : Ryzen 7 3700 X GPU : Gigabyte RX 5700 XT Gaming OC M/B : Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite RAM : 2 x 8GB DDR4 Patriot 3733Mhz (@XMP 3733 - 16/19/19/38/56 ) PSU : Corsair TX 850-M HARD DISKS : Samsung 240gb 970 evo plus M.2 / Samsung 512gb SM961 M.2 / WD SCorpio 320 GB / WD BLUE 1TB CASE : Deepcool Matrexx 55 I had relativelly high temperatures especially in the GPU. I had tried many times to repaste the card and put new thermal pads and tighten the screws and everything with a bit better temps ( from 110 C hotspot to -> 90~95 C). I then installed an Arctic Accellero Xtreme IV and had very good temps on the GPU-HOTSPOT(around ~ 60 C gpu / ~ 85 C hotspot) but very high VRAM temperatures ( > 95-100C) even after installing back plate and small copper heatsinks with thermal adhesive glue. After many tries with thermal tape on the small heatsinks (on VRAMs and Mosfeets and VRM capacitors) the temperatures had fallen a bit to around 90-95C VRAM but not stable with a 120mm fan also straight pussing air on the arctic backplate. All this temps were under load in games and in Furmark After GPU stress test 10-20 minutes... With the CPU I didnt have problems because I had installed an Arctic Freezer Esports 2 duo and had very good temps(as on the reviews) with relativelly low noise). Anyway , long story short , I decided to installed my first Custom Water loop for CPU & GPU and went with soft tubing (easier for first try etc etc). CPU BLOCK : Freezemod AM4 -> https://www.banggood.com/Red-Copper-Plate-CPU-Water-Cooling-Block-Waterblock-0_3mm-Water-Channel-Injection-for-AMD-AM4-p-1401576.html?rmmds=myorder&cur_warehouse=CN GPU BLOCK : Custom for Gigabyte rx5700 xt gaming oc -> https://hybridcooling-modding.fr/gpu/200-waterblock-rx-5700-xt-gaming-oc-8g.html Radiator : Bykski 360mm (I think its slimmer than normal) -> https://www.banggood.com/BYKSKI-B-RD360-TN-G14-14-Tubes-360mm-Copper-Computer-Radiator-Water-Cooling-CPU-PC-Liquid-Water-Heatsink-p-1591744.html?rmmds=myorder&cur_warehouse=CN Pump : Tank+Pump Combo -> https://freezemod.com/product/freeze-mod-pump-reservoir-kit-for-computer-water-cooling-system-rgb-control-or-aura-synchronizationpub-fs6pd-17/ Bykski fittings + soft tubes / Radiator is in Push Pool mode with fans on both sides (Enermax & Arctic fans etc) After many tries and problems occured I finally managed to install the GPU Block and everything but had high VRAM temperature again (> 100 C after furmark 10-20 minutes) even though the GPU Block had an area that covered the VRAMs also ( with thermal pads ).... So I installed the Back Blate from Arctic Accellero xtreme IV also with thermal pads and also a 120mm fan on top to cool the VRAM and finally after many many tries and modifications I have reached an acceptable (for me at least ..) setup of everything. I want to post the temperatures now that I have in my system with the custom loop and if anyone with more experience can tell me if the temps are OK now or any other suggestion about my system because it is the first time for me and of course I probably had done a mistake or two ( some were fixed during the proccess...) So now After 30 minutes of stress test on both GPU & CPU (Furmark on Gpu STRESS test @ 1440 + Prime 95 at smallest FFP) I saw temperatures : GPU : around 50 C mostly max 53 C GPU Hotspot : around 70 mostly max 75 C VRAM : around 80 mostly max 84 C VRM : around 80 mostly max 81 C CPU : around 67-68 mostly max 70 C This temperatures are also the same when playing games (not constantlly) with very small variatons (2-3 C on the gpu hotspot and 2-3 C on the cpu). Vram & VRM is much much lower ( due to the lowest memory controller load of course ) when playing games VRAM sits at around 70 C and VRM also sits at around 70 C after 2-3 hours of gameplay (Horizon zero dawn - Doom Eternal - PUBG etc etc) with very small variatons +- 3-4 C. Are these temperatures OK considering everything ??? *the temps are with the pump contant working @ 100 % (~3500 rmp) because if I lower @ 70% or less GPU HOTSPOT rises up to 80-85 C and CPU temp also rises 2-3 C at least.* Is it ok to use the pump at 100 % all the time ??? * as long as the noise is very low (It doesnt bother me at all barelly audible , fans are much more audible @ 50-60% - probably a D5 pump on the part) * *Thermaltake Cryonaut was used as thermal paste in CPU and GPU but in CPU I didnt put a lot of paste to cover the edges also so I think I can mod this the next time I will service my loop because I know Ryzen tend to have high temps on the edges on the CPU Die and need to cover the hole cpu surface very good with thermal paste...* *Last thing to inform is tha I use FRTC from Registry in order to Cap frames at 118 since I use a Samsung Qled TV with FREESYNC 1440@120hz and its the only way as long as I have tested to effectivelly cap my fps lower than the screens higher freequency for Freesync to work properly* So many games are running @ 118 fps capped at times like PUBG and DOOM and not using 100% of GPU all the time and others like HORIZON @ 65-75 fps constantly using 100% of GPU. The card is running on 2050 mhz Core / 1750 memory / 1068mV voltage - (without issues from the undervolt have tested the card for hours for errors bsods etc) TimeSpy Results : ~ 9950 Points Horizon Benchmark@1440 ultra settings & freesync : 69 - 70 Fps Sorry for the long post. I wanted to include everything ...
  16. Howdy hey! tldr: Help me cool my PC better! I started this PC build about a year ago, and after finally getting a GPU for it (and upgrading the CPU I got at the time) I am now at a point where I want to fine tune it. And by that I mean, find a way to cool it better. AMD stuff seems to get toasty, and while I've not encountered any CPU thermal issues, I'd like to get it down more. As for the GPU hotness, I'd like to see that go down a fair bit. I'm currently air-cooling, and could consider an AIO solution if it would make a drastic improvement. I generally don't live in a hot country or anything, so would not be too concerned about ambient heat levels throughout the year. I just tested a bit of Doom Eternal on HDR/High settings (at 1440p), during which my CPU spiked at 83.5c and the GPU at 102c. (Starting level, only just got the game to try out fancypants GPU :P) I'm still figuring out what kind of settings I can use in different games, but I feel I should be able to push it higher without experiencing noticeable FPS drops/stuttering. I'm thinking that could be down to GPU throttling due to thermals. It sure likes to use the GPU fully though. Specifics of thermals/load from this can be found in a screenshot below. So my question is: What can I do to improve things. Should I worry about the current temperatures? Is there a "quick fix" or should I look into a different case all together? My system for reference: Case: PHANTEKS Eclipse P400A Mid Tower Fans: Noctua NF-A14 PWM (4x140mm 2 front, 2 top). 2x "case" 120's (1 on CPU cooler block, 1 on the back of the case). 17. Hey! I am currently running an X99 system, about 6 years old, with an i7 5820K CPU and a Corsair h100i GTX cooler. My CPU has had high temperatures for a while now - about 50C idle. I assumed it was because of poor maintenence (I haven't cleaned it in about 2 years and it built up a lot of dust). Recently, I finally decided to clean it, and on the way I replaced the thermal paste, as I've been using the stock one that came with the cooler since I got it. After plugging it back in, the temperatures climbed really high, even higher than usual. In the bios, under very low load, it could get all the way to mid 60's C. After entering Windows, Corsair Link shows almost 80C with about 15% load. I tried different amounts of tightness with the waterblock screws, but nothing seemed to work. I decided to try applying thermal paste again, twice, and in both attempts it didn't work. I then decided to give up. When I cleaned the PC, it wasn't a very deep clean, and a lot of dust stayed between the radiator and fans. I decided to do a deeper cleaning by taking off the radiator fans and cleaning the dust between. These are pictures of the radiator after cleaning. It's not perfect because I had to stop in the middle, but it's still not bad enough to cause these problems. There is a more suspicious spot, though, with some hard material between the fins of the radiator. I cleaned it with a toothpick, but that also included some bending of the fins. However, there is no uniform bending in any part of it, so I don't see why such a small difference would matter. This is after cleaning: I also applied thermal paste again. Obviously, still high temps. Right before giving up and posting here, I gave another shot to replacing thermal paste. I looked at the pictures of the previous applications and thought that the amount may have been a little high, so I tried with significantly less. This is the final application: Note that I have pictures of all the other applications, as well as how the CPU and waterblock looked after removing it. I couldn't add it because of the size limit, but I can add it in the comments if it's needed. This last attempt was even worse, with temps climbing even faster. At this point I only have a few ideas for what could be wrong. Maybe the thermal paste quality is bad, although it was recommended everywhere I saw. Problem is that to test it I have to buy new paste. It could be that the cooler is broken, but I don't have another cooler to test it with. It could be that the CPU is dead. Actually, since I ran it for so long with high temps, maybe the parts between its heatsync and the core are broken? Maybe I need to replace the paste there? That would mean checking the warranty status of the CPU. Again, though, no way for me to test this as this is my only CPU. Any help is appreciated, so thanks in advance! If more info/pictures are required, I could provide it. PC Configuration i7 5820K CPU, at stock clock Corsair H100i GTX CPU cooler Asus Sabertooth X99 motherboard Cooler Master Mastercase Pro 5 The fan configuration is two intake in the front, one exhaust in the back, and two exshaust at the top of the case, mounted on the radiator (pushing air into it). Thermal paste is Arctic MX-4 Don't know if it matters, but all cleaning of thermal paste was done with 70% alcohol, paper towels, and cotton sticks (no fibers left as far as I could tell)
  18. Hi there, have had my new PC for a couple months now and I've been having temperature issues with my graphics card while outside of gaming. I have a Palit RTX 3080 and a Samsung Odyssey G7. Both are brand new and connected via DisplayPort. The refresh rate is set at 240Hz and I have enabled G-Sync via the monitor. While browsing sites and applications like Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Spotify and the Steam Store, pretty much where there's a lot of multimedia on screen, I've noticed a pretty radical jump in the temperature of my GPU. Even right now it's idling just below 50 degrees C and all I have open is one tab through Edge. I very rarely have more than one tab open at a time. Most of the time though it'll reach the high 50s or even low 60s, which then causes the GPU fans to spin up. In-game it seems fine and performance doesn't seem to be an issue, it's just when doing anything else, mostly just casual browsing, where I seem to have this issue. For a while I had the GPU and monitor connected via HDMI at a refresh rate at 144Hz which was slightly cooler but I still had this problem of pretty radical temperature jumps, and at least once the GPU fans kicked in. My other components seem fine and my CPU hovers around the 40s at the best of times. I've yet to set a fan curve for the GPU fans themselves and my CPU cooler fans. I have a fan curve set on my case fans through FanControl by rem0o (the default BIOS curve is 60% and pretty aggressive) and are connected to both my CPU and GPU temps. My case fans are 3 140mm stock CoolerMaster fans though which came with the case. I've set them to run based on the GPU temp at 40% between 20 - 50 degrees C on the GPU, 40 - 60% between 50 - 70 degrees C and 60% at anything above 70 degrees C. They're also set to run based on the CPU temp at 40% between 20 - 60 degrees C, 40 - 90% between 60 - 90 degrees C and at 90% at anything above 90 degrees C. However, the GPU is almost always warmer than the CPU and a very audible increase in fan noise. I'm not sure if I have my fan curve set too low but already the fans are fairly loud and have considered replacing them with Corsair ones. I live in a pretty cold climate and my desk sits against my window. Even with it open and while it was pretty chilly, I'm still experiencing this odd temp increase. My GPU drivers are up to date and have updated them a few times since. I've also tried undervolting my GPU through MSI Afterburner to a frequency of 1850Mhz and a voltage of 850mV which, when tested through Unigine Heaven on Ultra, resulted in slightly better performance with an average decrease of 5 degrees C. I've set it so that these settings are applied at start-up. However, it didn't fix my issues while not in game and I'm still experiencing the pretty wild temperature increases. I'm at a loss as to what to do next and think that there's maybe some kind of background process (or processes) going on that's causing my GPU to heat up like this but I have no clue as to how to check. Below are a list of my specs which I hope give an idea of the build as a whole: Case: CoolerMaster MasterBox TD500 Mesh Fans: 3x front 140mm stock fans, 1x rear 140mm fan Mobo: Asus Rog Strix B550-F Gaming CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU cooler: Corsair iCue H150i Elite RGB GPU: Palit GeForce RTX 3080 RAM: 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro (2 x 16GB) SSDs: 1x 500GB Samsung 980 Pro (Windows), 1x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro (other storage) Wireless network card: Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 PSU: Corsair 1000W RMx Series Modular 80 Plus Gold OS: Windows 11 Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G7 27" (1440p, 240 Hz) Would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions you might have. I'm actually surprised that I'm having this issue as I didn't expect the GPU to heat up as much as it is while not running a game. I've also tried lowering the refresh rate to 144Hz and even 60Hz, but unfortunately I'm still having the same issue. Disabling G-Sync also doesn't seem to do anything, in fact it was originally disabled and I enabled it hoping that it would help. It did help with removing some screen tearing but not my temp issue. Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice that you might have and I'm more than happy to try out any suggestions or provide more information about my system. Thanks.
  19. Hello fellow PC Enthusiasts! I decided to share my experience with you guys concerning Radiator placement in a Custom Waterloop. Ive been searching a pretty long time now but every1 is just talking about a single Radiator or an AIO, and i havent found any information regarding multiple Radiators inside a "standard" ATX case. Im currently running a 3600X compared with a Vega 64 (LC BIOS) in a single loop, which we all know is a pretty power hungry and hot graphics card. Case: Fractal R6 Watercooling Parts: Phobya DC12-400 Pump Alphacool Radiators EKWB Supremacy Evo CPU Block Aquacomputer Kryographics Vega 64 Waterblock. At first i was running this configuration: 280x40 Radiator intake Front 360x30 Radiator exhaust Top 1x140 Fan exhaust Back Temperatures under full load (CPU+GPU) after 25min: CPU - 78°C GPU Hotspot - 93°C Water - almost 50°C Pump Speed - 1200 RPM Fan Speed Top - 1350 RPM Fan Speed Front - 1000 RPM. I stopped the workload because the Water Temperature reached 50°C. From all ive seen this is the "standard" or most common configuration if you run a dual Radiator setup. Since we all care about Airflow, we seek to have a little positive pressure inside the case so we can minimize dust buildup. In this scenario i was a bit on the negative side regarding pressure. But it was ok. But after seeing those Temperatures i wondered: Why is my Water Temperature increasing that much with 640mm Radiator surface? I talked to a Physician at my University and he told me that the Top Radiator will have almost no impact on cooling because of the front mounted Radiator. Because of the small delta between Water Temperature and the Air Temperature that is coming out of the Front radiator AND going through the Top Radiator, the cooling performance will be significant lower. I then decided to do another Test configuration: 2x 140mm Fan intake Front 1x 140mm Fan intake Bottom 360x30 Radiator exhaust Top 140x30 Radiator exhaust Back Temperatures under full load (CPU+GPU) after 25min: CPU - ~68°C GPU Hotspot - 79°C Water - 42°C Pump Speed - 1200 RPM Fan Speed Top - 1300 RPM Fan Speed Exhaust - 900 RPM. Air pressure inside the case is stabilized. With a little smoke test i could not detect any gaps sucking Air inside the case. But still - im not very pleased with those numbers. I now ordered another 360x30 Radiator and will try following: 2x 140mm Fan intake Bottom 1x 140x30 exhaust Back 1x 360x30 exhaust Top 1x 360x30 exhaust Front I know that i will be highly on the negative side regarding Case pressure, but its a sacrifice im willing to take to lower my Component temperatures especially the GPU Temperature. I will update this thread once the parts have arrived and i installed them. For now i just wanted to share my experience so far, and tell you that a front mounted radiator is not always the best way to go if you run multiple Radiators inside your case. I will update this thread with new numbers once i get the parts. Edit: spelling.
  20. Budget (including currency): Country: Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details: Hello, geeks! Can someone who owns NZXT H210 case tell me which maximum temperatures can achieve on both CPU and GPU at full load? Which coolers do you use? I don’t want temperatures above 70 at full load but in the meantime I don’t really want an ATX build. If you have this case help me and tell me your temperatures, please. I will be very thankful!
  21. I'm combining the R5 3600 (Not OC'ing) with the Cryorig H7 cooler but I've heard some Ryzen users have had issues with the shape of the H7's contact plate not being flat enough for Ryzen's IHS and causing temperature issues. I also see others using the same cooler on ryzen CPUs with no issues at all. IF I do have issues I'll probably try lapping the base of the CPU cooler to flatten it, but I just wanted to know how widespread this problem is?
  22. Hello all, I have recently been fortunate enough to receive a Surface Book (i7 CPU). However, often when I am looking at photos or watching YouTube, the device becomes very hot to the touch, but until now I haven't checked the temperatures. With Google Chrome and MS Word open, the CPU is hovering at around 70oC. Also, when I played some Overwatch on the laptop, it reached 80oC. Are these temperatures normal for the Surface Book, or should I look at seeing if I can get it replaced? Thanks!
  23. Okay so lately I've been getting really high temperatures on the CPU with Prime 95 without Overclock (to check the temperatures I used RealTemp) and on full load I get 75ºC with all of my fans on max (case fans and CPU fan). What am I doing wrong?
  24. I built my first low price gaming pc around 2 years ago or so my CPU is an AMD-A10-5800K (if you did not already guess) but it has really high temps and i mean reallly high temps Yes i DO have the stock cooler on for now but 60c in idle/bios and 100c while under load seems a little bit far fetched i have reapplied the thermal paste twice my pc has a good airflow with 4 stock fans(2 intake,2 exhaust) and when i put my fans at top speed (1 stock fan and the cpu cooler) i get little to no diffrence whatsoever the thing is when i change my cpu power consuption from windows it just falls to low temps but also reduces performance any way to cool it down or advice on what to do? i cannot undervolt and i dont want to spend money on a better cooler. these temps are too high and i dont know why, something is not right here. i mean i have heard that people with this cpu are getting 40c on idle and complaining but this is too much im using cam to record temps system specs: SAPPHIRE RX 470 8GB NITRO 120GB SSD CORSAIR CORSAIR VS 450W PSU 500GB HDD 120GB HDD 8GB KINGSTON DDR3 RAM F2A88XM-HD3 GIGABYTE MOBO
  25. My old Corsair H100 all-in-one liquid cooler was reaching it's limits with the I7 3970X running at 4.6 GHz, so I decided it's time to cool my cpu proper I've had my R9 290s under water with 480 mm radiator for a couple of years (did that one pretty quick lol), but the cpu has always been in it's own loop with H100. I had I7 3820 before for a long time (ran it @4,3 GHz), but recently I swapped it to an old 3970X from ebay. This thing is power hungry on a complete different level. While the H100 certainly could cool it, I decided to finally add the cpu to the existing loop (and about time, I had 4x 10/16mm fittings lying in a box reserved for the additional radiator and cpu block to come for almost two years). So I also added a 360 mm radiator to the loop while I was at it. Sandy Bridge Extreme series processor still have soldered ihs and I read online the H100 flow rate really wasn't much to write home about (you could feel the inlet side of the radiator be much hotter than the outlet), so I was expecting some results. For reference, here's an old pic of the PC with H100: And here's now (I'm still leak testing so the side panel is off - I just completed putting it together and ran the tests): So here are relevant setup details: Old cooling setup: I7 3970X @ 4.6 GHz, Vcore ~ 1.37 V (offset mode, so voltage and clocks go down in idle) CPU cooling: Corsair H100, push/pull with 4x noctua fans Tim: GC- Extreme GPUs in their separate loop New: I7 3970X @ 4.6 GHz, Vcore ~ 1.37 V (offset mode, so voltage and clocks go down in idle) Radiators: 360mm (3x noctua fans pull) + 480 mm (4x Alphacool NB-eLoop 1200rpm push) Pump: EK-5D Vario (X- RES 100) CPU block: Alphacool NexXxoS XP³ Light - Acetal Tim: GC- Extreme (GPU blocks: EK-FC R9-290X - Acetal+Nickel (Rev.2.0)) Loop in series: pump -> GPU2 -> GPU1 -> 360mm -> 480mm -> CPU -> pump, tubing ~ 3m *added a Noctua fan to blow at the back side of the cpu socket (to provide more cooling to the backside vrms on the motherboard) Rest: I ran three tests on both setups: 1. Idle at desktop (system has been heated up and running at least 30 min before the test) 2. Blender (2.78.0 latest build) BMW 3D rendering benchmark scene (realistic 100% load on the cpu) 3. Prime95 (28.10) AVX small FFT (maximum CPU heat and power) In all cases the room ambient temperature was 21 C and all test were ran with fans and pump at full speed (to keep things simple for this). Crapload of data was logged with Corsair AX860i PSU and Corsair Link 4 software to spread sheets. Focus will be on CPU core temperatures and system power. Below are the temperature and power graphs from these tests. Results with H100 are first, and CL (= custom loop) follow in each test scenario. 1. System idle (mostly): H100 CPU cores avg: 30 C Custom loop CPU cores avg: 27 C PSU reported idle power is about 150 Watts in both cases (system was doing something during the jumps) 2. Blender BMW rendering benchmark scene: H100 CPU cores avg reaches: 72.5 C Custom loop CPU cores avg reaches: 49 C PSU reported power is about 400 Watts in both cases, but it starts to slightly increase with H100 to around 420 W as components heat up more. 3. Prime95 AVX small FFT: H100 CPU cores avg reaches: 83.5 C, hottest core: 88 C Custom loop CPU cores avg reaches: 57.5 C, hottest core: 62 C Things to note: H100 setup severely throttles at around 310 secs (either processor Tcase max 66.8 C is reached, or motherboard VRMs overheat) and test is soon stopped. The torture test is run longer on the custom loop while no throttling occurs. We start to see how heat affects efficiency, H100 system power: 450 Watts, custom loop: 420 Watts As a side note, the cpu seems to be pulling quite nice amps through the additional CPU power (8-pin pcie, marked yellow in the graph): So there you have it, and I'm extremely pleased with the results! And one last thing, I noticed that the CPU block contact surface was not entirely flat, but it was slightly raised in the center and edges. I considered milling it it flat, but the results are looking good, so I'll let it be I hope someone found this info interesting and if you want to share your experiences, please feel free to post below!
