I have a Ryzen 5 3600 and I have never overclocked it unless I did accidently. However, My Task Manager displays 4.0, but bios only displays 3.6. I downloaded NZXT cam and it too said 4.0 and i want to know what to trust and how to set it back to 3.6. Thank - you

Laptop: Legion 5i (GTX 1650) The dextop window manager has a very high gpu usage (50%-90%). This problem started today and has made my laptop laggy. I'm even getting frame drops in games. In games which gave me around 80fps are now having drops to 30fps. Yes optimus is on but on turning optimus off there is no problem. Since I'm a student battery life is important for me. Does anyone have any workaround for this issue. Changing priority of dwm.exe didn't help.

Hi! Since i upgraded my setup i have poor performance, i tried some virus cleaning and installing M2 and more RAM, and two weeks ago i change my chassi and new CPU cooling so everything was in top shape. I thought i could count on taskmanager to show me correct stats, but when i changed chassi i wanted to check more on the temperature and fans speed so i had HWMonitor always on. I started to se sometimes that the CPU was on 100% and that was slowing the PC down. But when a start taskmanager to see what process that is taking that power, everything just cools down to a normal state. (se picturers, taked just seconds apart) I´ve searched for something that could help me but i get the result like, check taskmanager, clean for virus or some other troubleshooting to se with applications that is bugged. But nothing really helps and fells like this i s the same problem. I will reinstalling windows se if that helps me, but anyone who got any more suggestions? except buying a new processor.. To summarize: Bad performance, CPU is at 100%. As soon as i start taskmanager everything goes back to normal CPU and performance.

Hello, I've recently noticed, whilst tweaking some of my settings, that whenever I am tabbed into PUBG, Task-Manager shows 0% GPU utilization. The game is running fine at around 200 fps, the GPU is running at a reasonable temperature for the actual load and the GPU load shows up in both HWMonitor and HWInfo, however not in Task-Manager. Things I've tried to resolve the issue: Restarting the game Updating Windows Restarting the PC Verifying game integrity None of the above worked, hence I am posting here. Setup: AMD Ryzen 7 3700x at 4.3 GHz all cores 4x8GB DDR4 3400 CL 16 NVIDIA RTX 3070 TUF 1TB 970 EVO as game storage 240GB Intenso SATA SSD as OS drive 1TB Toshiba DT01ACA HDD as mass storage MPG x570 GAMING EDGE WIFI Windows 10 Pro v 20H2 build 19042.1083 In the screenshot, you can see all the graphs, except VRAM usage sitting at pretty much zero (this was whilst in-game). The spike towards the end is from hitting alt+tab. Thanks in advance for any help in resolving this issue.

So in the performance tab under task manager there are two GPUs - GPU 0 and GPU 1. Now I've heard that GPU 0 is the integrated GPU while GPU 1 is the dedicated GPU. But in my case, GPU 0 is actually my dedicated NVIDIA GPU(Geforce GTX 1650) and GPU 1 is my integrated GPU(Rx Vega My Laptop is an ASUS TUF Gaming FX705DT and I want to know if this is an issue or not. It was never the other way round as far as I know.

Hello, I have the following problem - My GPU (3060 ti) usage increases to 100% (3D) when idle and taskmgr shows that dwm.exe is using 100%. I reinstalled Windows, reinstalled the drivers, updated the driver to 526.47 (10/27/2022), switched to Studio drivers, disabled every "eyecandy setting" I could, but still it spikes to 100%. Also I can not install the resizable BAR update / or enable it. It seems to happen since the driver version 522.25. Is this something I should be concerned about, or is it something that will have virtually no effect on my PC? Thank you for your time and help!

Hello everyone, I have created an account on the LTT forums just for this problem I have been having with windows. Hope you guys can help me out! Problem The process "explorer.exe" is using extremely high CPU resources on select threads continuously. Upon starting the computer, I have monitored abnormally high temperature readings from my CPU along with the aforementioned high (100%) usage of threads on the CPU during idle operation. However, very weirdly when task manager is opened CPU usage and temperatures go to normal and stay normal until task manager is closed again. As though the process were avoiding the task managers use. Upon further investigation, and the use of the program Process Lasso to monitor running processes to avoid the use of task manager, it can be seen that the sneaky process using CPU resources is "explorer.exe" ran by the SYSTEM. Using Process Lasso, I am able to navigate to the location of the program explorer.exe and it appears to be the same process located in the C:/Windows directory. However, after using Process Lasso to close the process the CPU usage returns to the normal idle operating load, and the problem does not reoccur until the PC is restarted. This problem arose out of nowhere, no known software has been downloaded recently, I use this PC mostly for CAD work and Gaming, and do not visit any sketchy sites. Solution Attempts After discovering this problem I had immediately thought it was a virus or trojan using my systems resources, so I had performed multiple virus and malware scans: -Bitdefender is my antivirus software of choice, I have performed 'Quick', 'System' and 'Vulnerability' scans of the entire C: drive, some taking overnight to complete. All of which came up clean -Malwarebytes Premium was also used to perform Quick and Full scans of my C: drive, both coming up clean as well. -Malwarebytes Rootkit scanner and remover of the C: drive, also coming up blank (thankfully). -Malwarebytes Adware remover also showing no signs of viruses. After these processes I had also assumed that perhaps Windows was corrupt so I ran the following Windows tests: -DISM full system check/restore health processes. -SFC system integrity check. -Disk Cleanup and Disk Error checker. -Windows Memory Diagnostics check. All of these had found no problems, and after restarting in between tests, the problem had still preceded. Disabling of overclocks and cleaning of the PC: -XMP profiles were disabled. -CPU overclocks were disabled. -GPU overclocks with MSI afterburner were disabled. -PC was fully cleaned and dusted to ensure it was working properly, thermal paste was reapplied and cooler was checked for working condition. PC specifications and Windows information -CPU: AMD Ryzen 2600 -GPU: PNY GTX 1080 -PSU: 500W EVGA silver -RAM: 32Gb T-Force 3000mhz -M.2 SSD: Intel 660P series M.2 2280 2TB -Windows 11 Pro -Version: 21H2 -OS build: 22000.675 Any and all help is appreciated thank you! Attached are the readings from HWmonitor and Process Lasso

I've tried to do something with my old PC, and while I was looking at the cpu usage and cpu temps, I noted that Cpu usage in Aida64 fluctuates between about 20% and 80% while idle. Later on I noted that this fluctuation is related to Task manager: when it's closed the cpu usage (according to aida64 and also Perfomance monitor (included in windows 10)) is sitting at around 70-80%, as soon as i open tm, it drops at 20%. Any idea why that would happen? FIY: i'm using windows 10 creators update and the cpu is an intel core i5 2310 on an asus p8p67 board. I also attached a screen capture of the strange phenomenon task manager.mp4

I installed process explorer on my machine to tinker with a few settings, but I accidentally hit "replace task manager". Now, whenever I click task manager, process explorer pops up. How do I go back to task manager?

After booting into windows, a task in taskmanager called NVIDIA nodejs launcher is present and causes a black screen. Only on one monitor. Ending this task stops the black screen and I can use the desktop and taskbar as normal. What is this task and is it dangerous? A Google search contains no information, other than a link to isthisfilesafe.com, which I don't even know is reliable.

Hi guys, I have a problem with my Laptop. After a random time period I loose connection to the internet and the taskmanger freezes. I am still able to moove the mouse and the other programms still respond, but I can't really work like that. The laptop doesn't recover from that state. I also can't shut the computer down unless I use an emergency shut down. My laptop is over 2 years old which is why I have no warranty left. I already had the problem once before. Back then I tried a reinstall of Windows, but the reinstall ended up failing. I had no chance getting Windows back on the laptop. Linux worked perfectly fine on it, but I need programms which only run under Windows. Luckyly it still was within the warranty and the manufacture replaced my ssd and reinstalled Windows. After that it worked for around a year again. I can't acces my ssd since it is pretty hard to get to the hardware of my Laptop. I have a HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 14-ba1xx. I would be very thankful for any ideas, I tried to look up the problem in the internet but I wasn't able to find anything. Thanks in advance and sry for my English (I am not a native speaker)

I have started to face a problem from a while, what happens is that the Performance monitor shows a lot of memory usage which does not add up in the processes tab. I suspect a memory leak and have tried doing some things like a network change from registry but that did not work. DO u guys know how can i fix it?.

Hey! I used to have a tab to the right of Network called GPU usage, and GPU engine. Now after a restart, they are gone? I loved this addition to the Processes tab, though the tab still does exist in the performance tab, I wish it was back in processes. Anyone know what happened?

Hi there, Just throwing this out here, in the hope some one can actually make this a happen since no luck so far on this matter. Ok we all know that Microsoft forces that crap Bing on you in Windows 10. For most things I have found a workaround, but so far nothing works specificly on taskmanagers online search. NOTE: Iam not talking about Cortana or the taskbar search, it's specificly in taskmanager when clicking search online. When you click a process in taskmanager and search the process online, I can't get it to use Google instead of Bing. So if someone has a fix for that pls tell here in detailed steps. Thx in advance

i have windows 10 installed on my laptop and 12 GB of RAM, the problem is that recently when i start it up, the task manager shows that i am using around 80% of the total RAM, even do i'm only browsing, i scanned for malware using malwarebyte and it showed nothing, the antivirus i have installed is the Bitdefender and my gpu drivers (970M) are up to date. i don;t know what can be causing this, is not always that happen, but most of the times, by doing absolute nothing. and when i checked the task manager, in the users tab, i was only using around 40%, witch is still a lot for browsing.

Hi, The short answer-my computer has been freezing on video games and after crashing the process cannot be closed even in task manager. Recently (in the last month) my computer has been stuttering and leading to an eventual freeze on all computer games. The stuttering can begin instantly or take several hours of solid gaming, they start as small stutters and sound loops but eventually the whole game crashes. The second problem is once the games have crashed the application exits but in task manager the process is apparently still going on, even when you try to end it or the process tree. This then causes my computer to freeze every minute or so for 10-30 seconds and the only way to stop this is with a hard shut down. I have also done stress tests on GPU and PSU which have both caused my computer to suddenly turn off. Could it be a power issue? My specs- CPU-AMD Phenom II X4 955 3.20GHz RAM-2x2GB DDR3 and 2x4GB DDR3 (i tried both as i enitially thought this was a problem) Hard Drives-Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120GB (used for Applications and OS) -Western Digital Blue 1TB (used for game and file storage) GPU-Sapphire HD 7850 2048MB GDDR5 PSU-Winpower plus 650w Motherboard-ASUS M4N68T-M V2 OS-Windows Home Premium 64-bit
