So I have four drives in my system, a 980pro, sn550, a small sata ssd and a 3tb hdd. I installed StoreMi to link the small ssd and the hdd together. They work fine, but my problem is that StoreMi replaces the standard nvme controllers with it's own controllers. This causes both of my NVME drives to no longer appear in their respective manufacturer software. The drives otherwise work fine. Is there anything that can be done about this?

Hi all, Not sure if anyone has a similar issue to me but my whole entire AMD StoreMI folder has been deleted after installing AMD Adrenalin 21.4.1 with Factory Reset. I cannot install another copy of StoreMI as it says that it is unable to support my SATA Source HDD and SATA Cache SSD. Previously I have connected my SATA SSD to the my SATA HDD and it is seen as a SCSI drive in Device Manager. So now I do not know what is the current state of my drives and whether I can uninstall it. Anyone know how to recover from this, short of reinstalling windows?

I'm trying to set up Store MI on my PC. I have a Ryzen 5 3400G, 16GB ram, Asrock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4, my boot drive is a PNY CS900 250GB SSD, storage drive is a 2TB WDC WD2000FYYZ. This pic is what i get when I run Store MI. Does anyone know a fix?

I have a new ryzen 5000 build in the works and I am deciding on the drive configuration I want. Pretty sure im going with: - 1TB NVME SSD (boot drive/windows + non-games windows applications and folders) - 500GB NVME SSD (SSD Cache for HDD via StoreMI 2.0) - 4TB HDD (games, datasets, movies, photos etc) So I will most likely have all my projects on the hard drive and I mainly develop in WSL so I am wondering if I set up StoreMI in Windows will I still benefit from the caching when I read/write to files on my HDD in WSL?

Hello everyone! Hope someone can help me, I'm getting desperate and very sad. I have been using AMD StoreMI for a long time, ever since I build my computer and have worked just fine without any issues. Today when I came home from the holidays my computer was acting very strange. I then noticed that me StoreMI drive was gone completely, I try to open AMD StoreMI up but it wasn't reporting anything. So I backup the files I wanted (and could) from my computer and uninstalled StoreMI and reinstalled Windows. It seems somehow StoreMI have locked the two drives I was using for it permanently? I can see them in BIOS and somewhat see them in Disk Manager, but I can't really interact with them? I really want to come into contact with them again. Image: to show the disk not being interactable in diskmgmt. Kind Regards and happy Holidays

Hi all I'm reinstalling my PC but I have a tiered drive that I wanna keep. It's not my boot drive so I wont be fromatting it but since I have to uninstall the StoreMi program, I'm not sure how to proceed with that. I think I need to separate the tiered drive, then do a full uninstall of StoreMI, then go on with my pc reinstalling. Just asking to be sure! also wanted to know if the upgrade to FuzeDrive is free for Ryzen users, since AMD discontinued storeMi thanks!

Thinking of utilizing AMD's StoreMI on my B450 board, but wondering whetherornot it's better/safer to get a second 250Gb+ SSD to use it with my game drive, as I heard people Windows won't even start properly.

Hello, Im trying to install AMD's StoreMI 2.0 (v2.0.0.0130 aka the one you get form their website). But every time I try in the end the installer tells me "Installation Failed. Rolling back changes" and then gives me a "StoreMI failed to install" with no error infos at all. My Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X MB: MSI 550M Pro-VHD WIFI Not sure if anything else is needed. EDIT: Okay I found a log but cant wrap my head around it. Im not sure if it shows any sensitive information but i trust that people in this forum would not use it for anything bad if it would have them. I attached the file to this post. AMD_StoreMI.log

Hello! I reinstalled Windows yesterday, and in that process, I discovered that StoreMI had decided to stop working at some point and was no longer compatible with my system. No problem, I figured I would stop using it anyway. After getting through the reinstall, I saw that my SSD is showing up in BIOS, but it is nowhere to be found on my system. Disk Management doesn't see it. My HDD is running as a Basic type, so I don't think the SSD is associated with it via RAID or anything like that. There is no way for me to initialize the disk because it isn't showing up in Disk Management. I have tried reinstalling StoreMI just to see if its UI could pick up the disk, but I can't even get through the installer due to the system incompatibility issue. I assume this issue was caused by me upgrading to a 5950X some time ago, but I never noticed StoreMI stopped working, and according to AMD's website my system should still be fine to use StoreMI - not sure why it isn't but that isn't the main problem here. I'd just like to have a usable SSD. My guess is that it is related to StoreMI because this is not a new SSD. Any ideas on what could be happening?

Hi All, I've got myself in a situation where I need to replace my motherboard with a different one - from MSI B450 Tomahawk Max to Asus ROG Strix B450-F I was just about to do the actual swap when I remembered that I have StoreMI active on my secondary drive+extra SSD, the Windows drive is not affected. Would replacing the motherboard mess things up? I know I can't remove StoreMI without wiping the HDD, so I am trying to avoid backing up the whole 2TB drive somewhere else. There isn't anything that important on it, but would prefer not to loose if possible. Thanks!

Hey All, So to start this is my current PC https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/b/HBw6Mp I'm wondering what the best solution for a speedy, large capacity game drive is? Currently my games are stored on a 1TB 2.5" SSD but that is quickly filling up. I've heard of AMD StoreMI and PrimoCache but don't really know a whole lot about either. I've heard StoreMI has limitations and can be a bit clunky though. Are either of them any good? Or does anyone have any other solutions? Ideally I am looking for something similar to Optane. I'm hoping to have like a 10TB HDD wtih some sort of cache so that its still quick if that makes sense.

I built a new computer with a 240GB SSD and 1TB HDD in it and i set storeMI up on it but the hard drive i got is making weird noises so I am going to be returning and getting a replacement but when I go to untier storeMI it only lets me put everything on the slow mechanical drive even though it would all fit on the SSD. Is there any way to untier the drives and have everything go to the SSD?

Hey Linus fans! I've got a problem... I installed storemi on my pc. I am using a WD 1TB HDD accelerated be an Kingston M.2 SSD. I believe that the storemi virtual disk is a boot drive. I now want to remove storemi from my computer completely and be able to access the drives from other computers too. I want my SSD to be the boot drive and I want to be able to change in which disk is every program. The problem is that I have no idea how to do that. Also I didn't find anything on the internet. Please help me! Step by step instructions would be great!

Hi there! Recently I set up a Parity Storage space consisting of 4 1TB + one 2TB HDD, for a total of 3TB usable capacity, in my dad's PC and mapped it as a network drive to the rest of our devices. The objective was to have a central backup storage location and share media files in the household. Aside from a lower-than-expected capacity, it works as intended, but the write speed s u c k s. I have a spare 500GB SSD that I want to combine with it to accelerate it and create a small tiered solution. Question is, what would be the best way about it? Option 1: Tiered Storage Spaces The machine is Windows 10 Pro, so it would require Powershell wizardry, but it can be done. I would have to offload around 2TB of data first and dismantle the current Storage Space (I assume), but I have the spare capacity on external drives. Option 2: Primocache The idea is to combine the "single drive" - Parity Storage Space - and the SSD. I'm not sure it would work, but it could be easier and without hassling with Powershell. Paid solution dependent on software Option 3: Stablebit Drivepool Same as Primocache, possibly more robust in terms of setting up the drive pool from scratch. Paid solution dependent on software Option 4: StoreMI Right now the PC is based on Intel Z77, but a Ryzen 3600 upgrade is planned for around the end of the year. What would be your recommendation?

Im in panic right now because i have very very important files on a windows installation which now fails to boot because of storeMI and bad ssd. So i installed StoreMI which is amd’s technology of combining large HDD’s with SSD’s (operating system is on HDD) for better speed and system fluidity. After installation my ssd died and i could no longer boot my system. I kept getting a bsod with no stop code or Critical process died. Please does anyone know how to fix this and get my old os back without StoreMI?? I have a windows 10 boot media on a thumb drive if needed for repair please help me.

My OS started acting up for a while, and I cant find any solution that works. Re-installing my OS seems to be the best idea. However, I'm using StoreMI and Im not sure what will happen during reinstallationg. Using the "Reset this PC" option, it says that StoreMI (with a lot of other program) will be uninstalled. I tired to revert back my tier drives but it keeps giving me errors too.

Hi there! I've got a new system a few days ago. Msi b450 tomahawk, 256gb 970 Evo nvme and a Seagate 2tb drive. Now I want to set up AMD StoreMI, but I am not quite sure how to. Should I install my os on the nvme, and add the hdd. Or should I install my os on the hdd and add the nvme drive? Greetings :)

My PC shuts down instead of going to sleep. This started happening after I removed AMD store MI from my system which I did by cloning my HDD onto my SSD and then re-formatting the HDD (most common method when I searched "how to remove AMD storeMI"). Everything seemed to be working better, I had two separate drives that I could control myself, but I started having the shut down issue. I tried all the windows power and sleep settings options which is the first recommendation when searching this issue. After looking at Event viewer i can see the same error every time I try to put my computer to sleep. "Disk 1 has the same disk identifiers as one or more disks connected to the system. Go to Microsoft's support website (http://support.microsoft.com) and search for KB2983588 to resolve the issue." Some say this error can occur when cloning drives which i have done as mentioned earlier. Apparently when two drives have the same ID, but according to diskpart, all of my drives have different ID's. One more weird thing... Even after removing Store MI, I still see the virtual drive that it created. Maybe this is causing the issue, but I cannot figure out how to get rid of it. Anyone got anything? I'm not a PC expert but i enjoy learning this stuff. Thanks!

Hey guys! I have a 2TB HDD that I brought over from my previous PC. It has very little on it now, except for some pictures and videos, and some code. My 1TB Seagate HDD has Windows 10, and all of my programs/games on it. I am considering buying the Samsung 970 EVO (250GB) (MZ-V7E250BW), which will work perfectly with the M.2 slot on my x470 Gaming 5 Wifi. I play GTA and Fortnite, and I do lots of programming. Would I benefit from using StoreMI with my 1TB HDD and the 970 EVO? Thanks.
