I haven't upgraded the PC in a couple of years and it's due. This area is not my specialty so I was looking for some advice. The GPU is at the top of my list along with a new monitor. What else should I look at? Nvidia GTX 1080 GPU AMD Ryzen 7 1700 Eight-Core Processor 16.0GB Single-Channel DDR4 RAM Gigabyte Technology Co. Ltd. AB350M-DS3H-CF (AM4) Motherboard 931GB Western Digital WDC WDS100T2B0A-00SM50 (SATA SSD) Drive The SSD card was my most recent upgrade, I plan to put in an RTX 4070 along with a new monitor to go with it of course. What else should I think about upgrading for better gaming performance?

Overall the system will primarily be used for Unity development over the next few years and games such as BG3. Ray tracing is not all that important and won't be used during development of games etc. Budget for the desktop is £2250 and a colour accurate monitor for £300 + calibrator for £100 . Any thoughts on the specs etc, haven't decided on a monitor just yet.... https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/Gy3JkJ Cheers for any help in advance, Lex.

(First off, I would like to say that I have never used any forum before in my life. So if this is the wrong location to be asking this kind of question, or if you all don't really talk about this sort of thing normally, just let me know!) Greetings everyone, I don't really visit Forums, sub-reddits or other similiar forms of media, but this time I needed to make an exception. I was planning on upgrading my PC for a long time but never did it. Until recently where I finally did decide to upgrade. I am pretty happy with my choice but I was going to ask for some advice. I saw that Linus was both happy and disappointed about the GPU that I chose, and I wasn't sure aswell if the overall configuration works well together. Since, I remember some friends of mine talking about bottle-necking my setup or something like that. Also, about the "mix" of AMD and a GeForce card, instead of a AMD CPU with a AMD GPU. So I wanted to ask some people if they could tell me if I made the right choices, or if I need to chance some things up or not. Did I overspend? Could I have saved somewhere? Or should I have gone a bit deeper in some areas and left a lot of room for improvement? I'm not new to pc's and 'tech' perse, but I'm just not sure how well components work together and what items are concidered a waste or not. I chose the parts, and the company will put the pc together and install the software/windows and all for me. But I can still ask them to chance some parts if it fits/works for them aswell. Considering if they have the items on hand or not for example.

From the album: Blue Dragon
Just a brief snapshot of my current PC. I have it cooled on air only, no watercooling. CPU cooler is a Zalman 90mm open fin cooler. Current rated Athlon X2 64 base clock is 2.7ghz ... Overclock'd to 2.9Ghz... Yes I have a Radeon HD 6770 in as my primary card and also am using the IGP, Radeon 3300, 128mb as a linked graphics card. Giving me 1152mb of graphics memory. It's an old rig (PC) but it works great for games like WoW, Warframe and GTA 4, etc... New rig coming in the near future... -
Also why is my ram capped at 1600mhz, I have a rog z390-f mother board with xmp profile 2 enabled. http://speccy.piriform.com/results/nwSZzA5j0sKHUBhJkXYDmC5 and please feel free to point anything else that may be hampering my performance.

His main objective is to build a gaming-focused machine. The bar he decided to set is the following He wants to play Cyberpunk at 1440p 60fps+ High preset and was wondering if the following suggested graph is overspec'd or too weak I'm not good at telling these things as I really have no extra parts to run benchmarks. Additional notes: • This is all hypothetical, He's sure as hell not interested in getting scalped as soon as possible, he'll wait. • He owns a 144hz 27" curved monitor, connected to a hp pavilion (i7 9th gen, gtx 1650) that is apparently a terribly built overheating piece of poo. planning to keep the monitor. • He's smart, doesn't know how to build a pc yet but I promise you he can learn in an hour if needed, is not afraid of messing around in the system, is capable of writing code for games in Unity and s**t. • I don't feel like recommending him any AMD for the graphics department, as of now, Unless you found an incredible offer over Nvidia counterpart (haha, not funny) I really don't see the benefits, I have an AMD card and, although I love at least having a card, I really hate all the driver problems, and graphical hiccups, plus he messes around in creative software a lot, I Suppose Nvidia is more suitable for rendering. (feel free to prove me wrong but last time I checked..wasn't worth it) That...should be everything, ask away anything you need to know. And thanks for reading, I know It's a poem but I believe in giving a consistent amount of details when asking for help.

Hi there, I'm looking for a laptop to use for entertainment purposes and occasionally do the odd spreadsheet with or use to work on a word file. I'm have my sights focused on a dell xps 13 although would consider others if recommended. I am currently confused as to which specs to choose as I'm only using it for entertainment purposes really will I need 16GB of ram and the better of the two processers? Or will they be useful for future proofing? I also feel that the 1080p display may be underkill and that the 4k display may be overkill... Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks so much, Josh.

Hi, I brought a prebuilt system back in 2019 or round about then. The specs are: Motherboard: ASUS® H310-PLUS R2.0: ATX, DDR4, LGA1151, USB 3.1, SATA 6GBs Memory: 16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 2400MHz (2 x 8GB) Processor: Intel® Core™ i7 Eight Core Processor i7-9700 Graphics Card: 11GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 2080 Ti (Palit dual fan) Power supply: CORSAIR 650W VS SERIES™ VS-650 Storage: 2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE M.2 Storage: 256GB ADATA SX6000 Pro PCIe M.2 2280 (2100 MB/R, 1200 MB/W) Case: COOLERMASTER MASTERBOX MB600L CASE I was new to pc gaming back in 2019 when I got this pc, I have been a console player from the beginning and at the time had done a fair bit of research on pc components, watching Linus, Jay etc at that time. So I decided to go for a prebuilt as I didn't feel confident enough to build one myself (which I regret now). Gaining the knowledge about the computer components, I forked out to get the best at the time (excluding the NVidia titan cards) a sorta reasonably priced system with a 2080Ti in it. Since I had first got my pc, I had been having issues with keeping my graphics card cool and keep the fans from going so loud trying to cool down my already thermal throttling card. So since my 2 year warranty ran out I took it upon myself to try and fix the problem. So about a week ago I upgraded my case to allow much more airflow compared to the Cooler master master box case. The master box case was just terrible for airflow, there was basically none. So I took the plunge into upgrading my case to a MSI FORGE 100R. The case swap was a little bit challenging, being my first time actually physically moving the components, putting my theoretical understanding and YouTube video tutorials under the test, but thankfully I didn't break anything. However, I thought that would at least help my gpu from reaching 84C, but it did nothing pretty much. I just wanted a second opinion on what I should do next, I've been considering getting the NZXT GPU AIO mount to water cool my GPU but yeah, its really frustrating having a card that just doesn't cool well and I loose performance because of it, not to mention its super loud.

Hello, I am trying to maximize my performance on a Minecraft server. I will list the specs below but I was wondering if they seem like a good system to run a server on for the long run, or if there are bottlenecks that could come up. Any help is appreciated; here are the specs for my server. Operating System: Microsoft Corporation, Windows Server 2016 Standard Evaluation (10.0.14393) (en-US) Motherboard Model: Storage: 3TB of storage on HDD with one hot-swappable drive Processor(s): Two Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5620 @ 2.40GHz (16 virtual) (X64) Available Memory: 48GB of ECC DDR3 RAM Intel Corporation S5520HC

I would like to apologize beforehand for any typos and grammatical errors. Also, since all the pages are in swedish you can find the specs under "specifikationer" tab. Here we have 3 pre-builds: https://www.inet.se/produkt/2219422/asus-rog-strix-g15dk-ryzen-7-16gb-1tb-rtx-3070#specifikationer https://www.webhallen.com/se/product/334998-ASUS-ROG-Strix-GA15-R7-5800X-16GB-1TB-RTX-3070-Win-10?gclid=CjwKCAjwsNiIBhBdEiwAJK4khq1mDLACoK0LtI0B0MRbb4EN7-u7BIjzDQkCyh8HlZn5nnEbinTmZhoCquUQAvD_BwE https://www.netonnet.se/art/gaming/gamingdator/stationar-gamingdator/asus-rog-strix-g15dk-r5800x097t/1019493.12917 Both 1 and 2 have same product number (G15DK-R5800X080T). ROG Website https://rog.asus.com/se/desktops/mid-tower/rog-strix-ga15-series/spec List of problems, unanswered questions and annoying things I've encountered: Both 1 and 2 can be found on ROG website by the product number but I was not able to find the third one. Could not find specs of the 3070 that is in the build. Could not find the clock frequency of the ram on the ROG original website but it is mentioned in the link number one. Should I assume it was tested by the seller ? Why is 1 and 2 3k more expensive than 3 if the only difference in the mentioned specs is the amount of storage. (512gb Samsung 970 pro costs 1590kr | would buy SATA SSD anyway) When you look at the specs on ROGs website it says that it has SO-DIMMs for G15DK-R5800X080T. Site number 1 lists the chipset as the motherboard. There is probably more things out there that I have not noticed yet, but at the same time I don't think I will keep looking because for some reason it makes my blood boil. I have no idea how to conclude this entire post. On one hand pre-build number 3 seems like a steal in comparison to 1 and 2 atm. This is only under the assumption that everything between these two system is the same except the storage. On the other I would really like a new custom build but I know it is not currently possible without overpaying. I guess my 770, 4770k and 8gb of ram will have to suffice for a little longer unless someone can confirm that the pre-build numer 3 is actually worth buying and that the difference between G15DK-R5800X080T and number 3 is indeed just the storage. Let me know what you think. Ty!

To anyone that knows about specs, help! I have made a pcpartpicker list and am wondering if its any good and if i am missing anything crucial to start building my PC. https://nl.pcpartpicker.com/list/KdgJ4d this is the link. [i am aware that there is no GPU included, as they are incredibly hard to get right now for a reasonable price] i am planning on doing video editing, play minecraft, valorant and such games. I am wondering if this will do the job and if all the parts will fit and work together. And i also wanna know if i am getting my moneys worth with these parts, can i get some of them for cheaper or are there even parts that work better for the same amount of money etc. Also feel free to send me a 'better' list for the same amount of money, and an explanation as to why its better (i would love to learn more about that stuff) ANY advice is HIGHLY appreciated!!

Hello there. I have an unraid server that is basically purely used to run plex and dumb storage. For that it works fine just fine since that doesn't require anything fancy. My specs: Ryzen 3 2200G Gigabyte GA-A320M-S2H AMD A320 8GB G.Skill Value DDR4-2133 CL15 Single-slot bunch of wd reds 8tb Samsung 1TB ssd cache I tried to run a minecraft server for me and my friends. We were 3 but max would be around 5. As long we did move as a group the server held up quite good. But as we moved separately the server lagged and finally crashed. I obviously did not build the server to be able to handle a game server but i wonder what i would need todo to do that. I read some server specs that were meant to run game servers but they always were build to handle much more than what i would want. I cant really get useful information out of them. I have 2 questions. What made the minecraft server lag and what would i need to upgrade to handle game servers? my goal is mainly one minecraft server for my friends and i but it would be nice to know what is needed to maybe run more. Since the problem was with us moving separately I thought it maybe was the ram i allocated to the minecraft server. Increasing it did change anything which leads me to beleave the cpu is the main factor?! I would be rly thankful for any help you can give me

Soooo recently might my PC has been doing these random Lag Stutters when im playing a game while running Discord as well (Games like Valorant). It does one big lag spike and the 5 seconds later anther lag spike and then Boom MY PC Reboots itself and its so frustrating. I'm not sure if its because I have a bad power supply or maybe its my CPU or maybe the motherboard. but I've been thinking of getting a new CPU and Motherboard because while I play I have OBS Discord and A Game running at once and maybe its too much for it to handle. I'll leave my specs under this so you guys can get an idea of what im working with and maybe help me with my issue. This another issue maybe it doesnt have to do with this but sometimes I can be playing a game while discord running in the background and all of a sudden Discord like mutes my ability to hear the people in a Voice Call and Im forced to restart my PC because they cant hear me either its so weird and this plays along with my PC rebooting its self as well. If anyone knows how to resolve my problem PLEASEEE help me out Thanks a bunch PC Specs. Budget (including currency): 1300$-1700$- flexible Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games and light work Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hi everyone! I'm David, I am a recent PC convert after using a Playstation for over 13 Years and now that I have some budget I think I am ready to transition to a gaming PC. I have a rough list of parts that I like (visually, Price and general performance) but I don't know enough to be sure that everything works together as it should.. and that I am not wasting money on something that is total overkill.... my hope is to be able to game on 4K at 60fps (that is what my TV allows) and later buy a 1440p high refresh rate monitor when I'll have the space for it. The things that are important to me are: SPACE- the smaller pc, the better. Noise- I currently use a STRIX GL703GE and it's loud, so less than that but doesn't have to be completely quite. Future Proof- of course to a degree but I'd rather spend a little more money now and not have to upgrade for another few years. so Here is my parts list (for the CPU I plan to buy the new 5600X and GPU a 3070 (in one form or another)): Any help will be appreciated!!! Thanks :)
