today, my computer decided to restart 3 times already with no warning, i went to look into minidump to see if there was a crash log or anything but found nothing. the only thing i can find is in event viewer and it dont say much other than it being a kernal power problem and maybe an overheating issue? i checked my cpu temps and they are fine even looked at the cpu temps log and they looked fine before restart. system specs: CPU: Intel Core i7-12700K MOTHERBOARD: MSI MPG Z690 CARBON WIFI CPU COOLER: DeepCool LS720 360mm Radiator GPU: MSI 3080 Ti GAMING X TRIO RAM: G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB Series (Intel XMP 3.0) DDR5 RAM 64GB (2x32GB) 6400MT/s CL32-39-39-102 1.40V PSU: Seasonic - FOCUS GX-850, 850W 80+ Gold PSU

I recently upgraded my pc and after I installed a new Motherboard and CPU it randomly shuts down when I'm playing. The screen just goes black and immediately starts to post again. This only happens when I'm playing a video game such as Rainbow Six Siege. I have checked connections and reseated the RAM. CPU temps are at 60 degrees Celsius at time of crash. I have disabled windows restart. Everything is at stock speeds. I do not know where to go from here. Hello, I've been having an intermittent issue lately. I'm getting random reboots (sometimes under load, sometimes at idle). An example of this happening (at idle) could be me being in a zoom call, and I start typing in a word doc, and my machine will shut down to a black screen. Then immediately following that, my machine will boot up again to the Windows 10 login screen. An example of this under-load would be when I'm in the process of loading up a game the machine will shut down and follow the same routine as stated before. This issue began after I swapped my Intel I5-8600k with an Intel I9-9900k, added liquid cooling, and added a 1TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 drive to my machine. However, I had to update my BIOS to support the 9th Gen processor. I've done stability tests on my GPU using Uniengine superposition that came out to be stable, and I ran a CPU stability test using Intelburn test, which also came out to be stable. After doing so, I presumed my issue was a dying Power supply so I swapped out my previous power supply only to have the machine have a random shutdown again. After this, I re-installed windows to alleviate any software issues. It's a somewhat tricky issue to replicate as it is very unexpected at times. It will not occur for a few days but then happen three to four times a day. I also want to add that I've been having cooling issues with the new M.2 drive since its install. It has maxed out in its lifetime at 59C but will average anywhere from 45C to 52C since its install. As far as cooling goes, I have a single fan on the rear of my case pulling in, two fans on the top of my case pulling in, and two fans on my AIO pushing out. I've included my specs below. CPU: Intel i9-9900k. COOLING: NZXT X63 AIO liquid cooler GPU: Nvidia GTX 1070 Founders Edition RAM: 32GB (2x16 DDR4-3200 cl16) Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 16GB (2x8 DDR4-3200 cl16) Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB Motherboard: Asus Tuf Z370 Pro Gaming PSU: EVGA Supernova GA 850W 80+ Gold Fully modular Drives: Samsung 970 Evo 1TB NVMe Samsung 860 Evo 25GB SATA SSD Western Digital 1TB HDD Western Digital 2TB HDD

Hi folks, My system is randomly rebooting. Can’t figure this one out. No BSOD’s About 9 months ago I upgraded my system. Bought a new GTX1660Ti a 2nd hand Gigabyte Z77P-D3 motherboard to fit my i7 3rd gen ivy bridge. Fitted the cpu with a dark rock pro cooler. Added 2x 8GB ram sticks from Hyperx. Lastly to power the rig a new PSU: https://m.alternate.nl/Cooler-Master/MWE-450Watt-Bronze-v2-voeding/html/product/1551849 Running a win7 install that’s probably 6-7 years old and upgraded it to win10 i think about 1-2 years ago. Then bought this Gigabyte motherboard to fit my GTX1660Ti and had to go through the hassle of migrating windows to a new motherboard. That was last Christmas break. So for 8 months everything was fine and dandy but since a month things are awkward. The system operated fine, but after about an hour or so the screen goes black, the audio continues for 3 more seconds and the system then reboot. What i have done so far. Did a mem test, all good on the RAM Checked the voltage on the 12V rail and it was between 12.04 - 12.07 whilst running a benchmark load for about 15 min. Formatted an additional SSD which was 98% full, not the windows drive. Thinking it perhaps used it as Cache?? Not sure. It did speed up the boot process, but didn’t resolve the reboots. Updated my GPU driver last week, Updated Windows to 2005 built about a month ago. I think there may be a correlation there. Got rid of AVG virus scanner and am running the free trial of bitdefender at the moment. Just today I had another reboot after about an hour again. It feels like it’s right around the same time it happens. I checked the event scheduler and deleted a couple of old stuff like update check of AVG. didn’t do the trick either. I dont know how to: •check the CPU •Check other voltages •If my motherboard may have issues Any other thought or info you need to make sense of this? All the help is really appreciated Thanks

I'm currently having a reboot issue with my PC. It reboots almost immediately, with a new issue of intermittently having to reseat a cable on the motherboard inorder to have it power on. Parts List: Motherboard - ASRock Z590M PRO4 LGA 1200 Intel Z590 SATA 6Gb/s Micro ATX Intel Motherboard Intel Core i7-11700F - Core i7 11th Gen Rocket Lake 8-Core 2.5 GHz LGA 1200 65W Desktop Processor - BX8070811700F SAMSUNG 980 M.2 2280 1TB PCI-Express 3.0 x4, NVMe 1.4 V-NAND MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) MZ-V8V1T0B/AM GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3060 VISION OC 12G Graphics Card, 3 x WINDFORCE Fans, 12GB 192-bit GDDR6, GV-N3060VISION OC-12GD Video Card Super Flower Leadex III 850W 80+ Gold, Three-Way ECO Mode Fanless, Silent & Cooling Mode, FDB Fan, Full Modular Power Supply, Dual Over Power Protection, SF-850F14HG G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Desktop Memory Model F4-3200C16D-32GVK Replaced Parts: CORSAIR RMx Series RM650x 2018 CP-9020178-NA 650 W ATX12V / EPS12V 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Full Modular Power Supply OLOy OWL RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Intel/AMD Optimized Desktop Memory Model ND4U1636181BHVDA Detailed info, i built this PC in May of this year and the issue popped up in late August. At first the reboots were happening after 30-45 minutes of gaming which quickly progressed to rebooting shortly after logging in The first action i took was to replace the PSU since that's what google leaned towards. No noticeable change after the swap. Reseated all cables on motherboard and no change. I looked at the LED lights on the mother board, DRAM always illuminated when the reboot happened so i moved focus to RAM. Next i went to the RAM. I had the 2 sticks in, removed one at a time, switched slots, no change. Thought it might be RAM i bought was just bad. Installed new RAM, no change. Also appears that the RAM is not compatible with each other, very unfortunate. After the RAM, i tried reseating all cables and parts on the mother board, then the power button started acting up. I made sure the cables were all in the right port. Reseating the power cable on the motherboard would "fix" the power-on issue, but it still happens intermittently. If i'm lucky if the pc stay on long enough for me to pull info from it. If i need to include any additional info let me know and i'll do my best to pull it. I'm not super computer/tech savvy, I have minumum knowledge and my friend gave me the list of parts to get for this build, so please bear with me!

Windows 10 pro PSU: Corsair RM 650x MOBO: MSI B450 Tomahawk RAM: Corsair Vengeance Pro 16g 3200mhz CPU: Amd Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: Radeon HD 7970 WD Black 2tb Samsung 250ssd for boot Everything's BRAND NEW except for GPU. The computer boots up and runs normally under normal load but when the GPU is like running and game or even opening the Steam app the PC automatically reboots itself with no BSOD or error message. All drivers are up to date including the bios with a fresh install of Windows and updates. And I no it's not a heating issue because I consistently check the Temps I ran a bench test on each individual component and the ones that usually reboot my system are Direct X or under little GPU loads even I tried to separate graphics card and it does the same thing with that one to. It's a very old Radeon HD 2600 Pro but still works just fine BUT I'VE NOTICED THE MORE POWER MY GPU USES THE FASTER THE REBOOT HAPPENS. For example my 7970 reboots my PC faster than my 2600. Now I did have the 7970 GPU in a older Intel PC a few weeks ago and it worked just fine. Then I built a new AMD computer and installed the gpu and Bam automatic reboots out of nowhere Could it possibly be a directX issue? This is The Benchmark software I use because it can test each individual component. And everything runs flawlessly except for 3Dmark

Hi all. I recently replaced my GTX 1660ti with an RTX 2060 SUPER. Up to that point, everything was peachy. My boot SSD had been cloned with no issues and I was riding cloud nine. Then I noticed the first issue: This PC was listed under Desktop in File Explorer. No big deal, I thought to myself. And it went downhill from there. I am now unable to get a context menu in any application without Explorer crashing and requiring a force quit and restart in the command prompt. Half the time, Explorer sits on “Working on it” while trying to load This PC. I can’t access the administrator-level (I am the only user) of any program, and the only time everything works is when I am in Safe Mode. I ended up buying a new SSD and installing a clean version of Windows on it, and I STILL had the same issues above. I’ve installed a fresh hard drive and moved every connector to rule out a bad SATA or M.2 slot, so I’m convinced it’s not one of my drives. I’m at my wits end and I need advice on what to check, because everything is relatively new there. Specs just in case they’re helpful: Ryzen 5 3600x ASUS X570-P (not the Pro version) 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 1TB Intel M.2 500GB Samsung 960 M.2 4TB Seagate Iron Wolf SATA Corsair RM1000X PSU

PC boots into bios but restarts if i do anything else
Tr1ggerfish1 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
So I resently built a system 3600, gtx 1660, corsair cv650, asus croshair vi hero, corsair vengeance lpx. The system was working fine up until a few days ago where it suddenly rebooted after me getting off COD warfare and then browsing youtube for a bit. Afterward the restarts got more and more frequent to the point now where I cant get past bios. I have done bios flashbacks and attempted to reinstall windows where almost as soon as the windows to select language apreas it reboots. I have replaced the motherboard and the hdd, I have also tryed a power supply of which I had replaced a week prior to all this, it still restarted all the same. Please post any ideas. Could this be related to the cpu. -

Hey guys. Is there anyway I can pinpoint on what causes the problem? My PC is crashing in 2K lately and having fps problems in PUBG (from stable 80-90 , now it hits 40-60 and drops to as low as 13) It also randomly reboots. Sounds like GPU failure? Is this a GPU failure? Bought my GTX 960 used. Not overclocked Is it a CPU problem? Overclocked my i5 3570K to 4.5GHz (It is stable but maybe now it isnt?) A ram problem? Overclocked this 8GB Crucial to 21333MHz Mobo? PSU? Thanks

My PC randomly restarts while under under mild stress.Never Blue Screens, just reboots. Usually occurs during a game, doesn't matter if the game is old and easy to run or new and stresses my PC. However its not limited to games. Tried troubleshooting parts. Ran with integrated graphics rather than card, played around with ram. Temps were normal, and the CPU is liquid cooled. Clean reinstalled windows, during which it randomly restarted several times tanking the install. Eventually got it to install and problem persisted. Took it to the shop it was built at where they also "fix" computers. They claimed it was an issue with the Graphics card, and they had fixed it. After briefly running some games, it appeared that they had not in fact fixed it and the problem still occurs. WIndows 10 CPU: Intel i5-4590 @3.3GHZ GPU: GTX 760 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H PSU: Thermaltake Smart 750W RAM: F3-1600C9D-8GAO Ares 2x4GB Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120gb has the OS on it Seagate 1tb HDD Any help would be awesome as I don't want to start randomly replacing parts or have to take it to another shop. If I've missed any details let me know and I'll fix it. Thanks

I posted this on tomshardware and didn't get any responses. Hopefully Linus's grand army of loyal subject can help me out here Essentially my computer decides to randomly reboot without BSOD or anything, no warning, basically the same as me pressing the reset button. Things to note: []Occurs when playing DotA 2, I don't play anything else enough to notice. []Occurs randomly a few times a week []Does not seem to depend on the length of the gaming session, sometimes occurs within an hour and sometimes occurs within 8 hours. []Windows just reports a system power interruption []My hardware is nowhere near overheating from what I can tell. CPU hits a max of like 60C in prime95 and GPU hits 80C max in unigen valley benchmark. []Specs: CPU- FX-8320 w/ hyper 212 evo GPU- GTX 770 SC EVGA RAM- 8GB Ballistix ram MOBO- Asus M5A97 R2.0 board SSD- Some Kingston SSD 256GB HDD- WD Black 1TB Case- Corsair 200r (I think) case with stock fans PSU- Rosewill Captone 750W PSU (new one) (old one, gone) CX600m PSU OS - Windows 8.1 []My PC has froze twice on the desktop since this started. This never happened before. So far: Tried shutting down PC every night (no noticeable effect) Replaced old PSU with new one. Tested hardware as stated earlier. Reset BIOS to defaults. Update: 3/14/15- Reboot occurred on desktop with almost nothing running. Screenshot of event log http://gyazo.com/2ab51a244960c43b3d5850a5cbc17f09 Any suggestions? I'm stuck here
