I have the typical resolution issue, the thing is that windows drivers recognize my monitor as a Konka led tv and work properly at 1080p. Of course, for performance reasons, i prefer using amd drivers for my 5600g, the problem with this is that amd drivers wont recognize my monitor, it will set it as a generic monitor at 640x480 and not even RCU will help me. Something important to say is that with w10 i coud use amd drivers and force the monitor to 1080p runing perfectly. But my girlfriend accidentally updated to w11 and now i have this issue. What can i do? I can't find drivers online for this monitor neither. It's an RCA L24S9500 1080 60HZ Monitor and a 5600g igpu

In game stutters/micro stutters What i have found in my time during PC, so far has only been issues and i dont know if thats just me being stupid or something is hidden in plain sight but i have spent hundreds if not thousand of hours researching and testing on this. I have found out a lot of things and learnt along the way but still have not got the result I would like in the end. In my case i have a brand new pc, custom built and built correctly. I have rebuilt this pc numerous times with every part (gpu, cpu motherboard e.x.) and it is 100% that none of my parts are deficient or damaged and underperforming. I have a very powerful PC, Consists of a GIGABYTE EAGLE 3060 OC Ryzen 5 5600x 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3600mhz RAM AORUS B550 ELITE V2 1TB Sabrent Rocket NVME SSD 500GB SAMSUNG 870 EVO Ofc a lian li 011mini 600W Gold Corsair SFX PSU This is the final build of my PC and every time I have traded the parts or swapped to test I found that it did not help the situation. I have always suffered with severe Stutters in my game, no matter what settings… even if I play in 720p just to make sure it could handle it, while I have exceedingly high framerate, even in 2k I dramatically suffer with stutters. To be more specific, I have a frame time graph on screen when I test and it spikes way above 30ms a few times every minute or two. I have done all the basics, manually tuned my CPU, made sure my XMP is enabled and yes it is AMD xmp optimised. My thermals are fine, never exceeding 65 degrees celsius. BIOS Updates? Done. Capping my framerate to something my pc is capable of running the whole time? Done. I have created a task to delete my cached memory every 5 minutes to see if my ram was the issue getting filled up and then it starts doing this process which i cannot remember the name of but it essentially is a lot slower than the standard process of ram using it’s high speed quick access memory. I tried upgrading to 32GB of ram and that did not help me either so I sent it back as I really cannot afford to keep spending money on this. I have also looked into the cpu, undervolting, underclocking, overclocking and overvolting it to values i have seen other people online have success with? Used different versions of windows also i just seem i can never win. Looking at what some people have said stutter can be cause of frame-pacing, which is controlled by the cpu, ofc that means the higher speeds the cpu runs at the higher the fps you can go at without stuttering as the cpu can handle that many fps without choking? Of course not too high whjere it becomes unstable. But i ned to know what the sweetspot is. I have contacted nvidia, amd, gigabyte and multiple discord servers forums and computer shops local to me. Everytime i get suggested something it's something extremely basic but I have covered everything anyone has ever asked and I'm wondering if my rig is just doomed? I have swapped monitors multiple times, Cables, swapped the power from socket to socket in my house. I am not bothered about extremely high fps, but I am bothered about smooth gameplay. I am happy at 2k 120/144 capped and medium settings, or even 1080p at this point as I just want to enjoy games. I have invested too much of my money and time on this pc for me to sell it on and go back to xbox. Plus there are so many benefits of using a PC over xbox and I enjoy what i have seen so far. I just need to be able to experience it properly. Of course some games run worse than others but it seems to happen in every game I have tested so far. I know this is extremely long but does anyone have any suggestions for setting speeds of my cpu and gpu for the best stability? PBO off or on also? And what voltages are best for stability. I feel like the only person who could fix this at this point is Linus but unfortunately I cannot contact him personally and he does not have the time to go out of his way to help a random guy on his forums. So is there anybody here or potentially a certain place I can go to get this sorted for once and for all. There is probably some stuff i have done but missed as there is so much stuff i have done over the past 4 months. Thankyou for reading.

So I have a DELL Vostro 2420 14, it has Intel® Core™ i3-3110M, it have a broken Charger, the pin Inside it are bent, so it says "AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined please insert DELL 65 Watt Power Adapter bla bla bla" so I switched my charger to my other OLD DELL Laptop, it was a DELL INSPIRON N4010 it has Intel® Core™ i3-370M, I absolutely don't know that is the charger is 65 Watts because the specs on the AC Adapter is, kind of oofed, so I plugged it in and its the same! I tried to turn off Intel SpeedStep®, doesn't do anything, also my RAM Speed is 1067 MHz rather than 1333 MHz so, can anyone help me? BTW This Laptop "Because The Power Adapter is broken, so the System will adjust the CPU Clock Speed to the power available" RUNS GTA:SA AT 35 FPS, WHAT A PAIN IN THE BUTT! So please help, I will sell this laptop for 100$ so I can get more savings to get a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER and Intel® Core™ i5-10400F Processor system lol, don't worry I can find a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 SUPER in a Reasonable Price, that looks like a Chinese Knock-Off but it's not fake.

I have made several posts about different issues but this is a relatively new one I am having. I am now stuck in a boot loop, my PC will start, show my MOBO's logo screen and load into windows lock-screen. Upon loading into windows lock-screen it may instantly restart, or sometimes it lets me log in then after 10 seconds will instantly restart. Sometimes I dont even see the windows lock screen before it restarts. This was happening before albeit to a MUCH lesser severity, it wasnt instant boot-loops, I could use my PC for hours before it randomly restarts, but now it is ALWAYS instantly rebooting. I get no BSODs. I can access windows safe-mode which is weird. I initially thought hardware problem but the fact I can enter windows safe-mode and have no problems is strange. It could maybe be driver error? This PC is 2 years old, no problems until my Mobo died about 1 month ago. Had weird reboot issues with new Mobo but thought I fixed it by disabling XMP in BIOS as I havent crashed for 18 days since, but then now, with no recent changes, I can no longer boot into Windows. I will try anything. I can access Safe Mode - so I can look at boot logs and access command prompt and such if necessary.

So I recently had to replace my Motherboard as it apparently stopped working and didnt allow my PC to Post. I replaced it with a Gigabyte b450 Aorus Pro Wifi- please note that EVERYTHING worked completely fine no issues before my old Mobo died, so I am using all my old drives and components ie: my 2070 Super, Ryzen 3800x, ram etc, along with one new SSD. First power up- no post, mobo diag RAM Led turns on. I move ram from channels 2/4 to channels 1/3. Second power up- Posts! Hooray! I log into windows, after 10 mins realize I didnt connect my (E) drive HDD, so I shut down, and plug it in. Third power up- Again, posts. I log into windows, and after 30 seconds I get black screen and PC very quickly restarts. This is a loop that never ends. If i just keep logging in, it will keep restarting after about 30s - 1m. So, I unplug my HDD, and that "appears" to fix the issue. Now, instead of the quick restarts every 30 seconds with my HDD plugged in, with it unplugged I get seemingly random restarts with no warning after any given time. 20 mins, 1hr, 2hr. Im not even doing anything, I could be in the middle of watching Netflix and it will just restart. No error codes no nothing. Does anyone have any ideas? Everything worked fine before. Only difference is I have a new Mobo and new additional SSD alongside my 'old' SSD, and my HDD. All parts in this computer are <2 years old. This is just weird how it will DEFINITELY crash at some point, but me having the HDD in makes it crash faster. I am legitimately losing my mind as this is happening off the tail end of my 'old' mobo dying and having to do all sorts of troubleshooting then working with no PC for 2 weeks. Very stressful and annoying times :(

Hey guys, i recently built my first PC and now everything runs smooth and nice except for one thing where my screen occasionally starts to freeze for a second, this happens sporadically and sometimes many times back to back and sometimes once every minute (I will attach 2 short clips where you can see it happen) I can't seem to put my finger on it what could be the cause so I would like to ask for your expertise because this gets very annoying If this helps for some reason these are my components Ryzen 7 3800x -> cpu MSI MEG x570 unify -> mobo XFX 5700xt Thicc III -> GPU Acer EI272URP -> monitor Thank you so much and happy Easter video_20200413_012833.mp4 video_20200412_230756.mp4 video_20200412_230756.mp4 video_20200413_012833.mp4

I just finished building my new pc. But now that im booting it up and trying to install windows i discovered that both of my ssd's aren't showing up in the bios. I've tried switching the cables different SATA ports on the motherboard bot nothing has worked. The only thing i could think of is that both cables are broken, but that would be so unlikely right? Anyway, please let me know what you think on how i can resolve this issue

I'm installing Windows 8.1 (don't judge I have my reasons) on my Asus ROG G750JM. Windows is demanding I install drivers (without specifying WHAT drivers) so I installed the most up-to-date versions of EVERY driver on the official AsusTek drivers page https://www.asus.com/support/Download/3/521/0/4/hk9WNtlEOFPl0Q7s/41/ I put all the files on a USB flash drive and popped it into my PC. Windows recognizes the flash drive but not ANY of the drivers. Idk wtf to do. The files saved as .zip and I have every one of them. Am I missing a specific driver that Asus wants? The fuck is wrong here because I've been dealing with Windows installation giving me shit on this machine for the past two days and I'm getting really pissed off at the thing. Should I put the drivers on the same drive as the Windows installation media is?

So on an Intel motherboard that I have (Intel Spl500 socket J) board, one of the capacitors has been dented when I brought it home in a suitcase. The capacitor was a 1200 μf, 12 volt. I have bought from Radio-Shack a 1000 μf 35WVDC capacitor and a 2200 μf 35WVDC as replacements. Could I possibly use one of them as a replacement capacitor for the dented one? Also can you wrap the leads in electrical tape because sadly they are axial ones. Thanks! (Photo from Tom's Hardware, edited my yours truly.)

So i want to upgrade my laptop (t410) with an external gpu via mini pcie, the gpu i was thinking of is the HD 5750 wich requires a 6 pin conector. The problem is that i want the enclousure to be as small as possible so i want to use a pico psu, another problem is finding an external mini pcie dock with an x16 slot that would work with a pico psu so that i idealy dont have to reroute or cut any cables but that would be possible to if nesecary. To be more percise i was thinking of using this psu https://www.amazon.de/PicoPSU-90-DC-DC-mini-ITX-Netzteil-supply/dp/B004QDP05C/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501012224&sr=8-1&keywords=pico+psu Could i just use a sata to 6 pin adapter or is even possible at all to use on of these picos with a dock simmilar to this https://www.banggood.com/Mini-PCI-E-Version-V8_0-EXP-GDC-Beast-Laptop-External-Independent-Video-Card-Dock-p-1011222.html?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=cussku&utm_campaign=lowspecgamer&utm_content=lailixian Are there any adapters so that i could power the pcie slot and the additonal 6pin with that psu? I only need power for the gpu not an entire system. sry for shitty spelling pls help and many thanks C: edit:will look for nvidia gpu cuse of compresion over 1x pcie

Hello guys. So I stumbled upon a strange used gtx 1060 6GB by Msi. It appears as an OC model but it has only one cooling fan. As far as I'm awere gtx's 1060 in this edition only came with 2 fans. But the seller claims it was bought in 2016, so I don't really know if this is legit or not. The price is laughably low (at least for my country standards). It's about 130 USD, and again, in my country it's a very good deal (I don't really know how it looks in other parts of the world these days). So can you guys help me figure out what's up with this card? Checking the long number on the back didn't really help at all. I will attach a few picks provided by the seller. P.S. I apologise for all the mistakes I probably made, I'm not a native english speaker.

Budget (including currency): 1500€ - less would be nicer. Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mostly for gaming like League, Civilisation 6, Deus Ex, Cyberpunk, Subnautica, Assassins Creed, Skyrim while watching movies and/or social media on a second monitor. Possibly Photo-editing in the future (I got a Mavic 2 zoom and a ton of RAW-format pictures). Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I am upgrading because my current pc is from 2012 (Alienware Aurora), and slowly falling apart. I did buy a new SSD and GTX 970 sometime around 2016, so I think I am ready to move on and hopefully use the new system for another 8 years or so. I will need a new monitor as my current second one is failing slowly, so New Monitor -> Main Monitor, Main Monitor -> Second Monitor, Second Monitor -> Trash, other then that I do not need any more peripherals and am looking to buy as soon as possible. For my new monitor I am currently eying either the AOC Gaming 24G2U (144Hz) or the HP Omen 25 - either way I would prefer to not spend more then 250€ on a monitor. I did watch Linus "Early 2020" Guide, so you will recognise some parts. I have the habit of keeping a lot of different files (DnD) on my Pc which is why I opted for a 2TB SSD as I am currently using around 700GB on my current setup (SSD + HDD) and would only go for a 2TB SSD for convenience of having one single disk. But if it would be way cheaper to go 200-500 SSD + 1TB HDD I am open to doing that again. Hello people, I have just recently found this website, (literally 5 mins, ago) and it looks to be an awesome one. A lot of people replying and helping folks out, on their tech questions. Which is why I decided to create a post myself, asking for your help. I bought a new laptop about 7 months ago, mainly to play games, and to also work as school laptop in my upcoming years in high school. While this laptop definitely isn't meant for big battery life, and only for gaming, I still bought it mainly because I use it at my home, and will almost never bring it to school. But you never know when you need to bring your laptop. There is another reason to why I decided to go with a laptop instead of a Desktop, but unfortunately, it is a very personal matter, and I don't wish to talk about it. All I can say is I just could not buy a desktop. Now to my question. I have basic knowledge of computers, and that is what helped me pick it out (duh). Btu I am sure that there are so many more pros and cons that I have missed out on. Which is why I am hoping that some good soul could help this noobie understand why this is a good or bad laptop. You could also recommend me to better laptops, or anything that would broaden my knowledge of computers. To summarize: >Wanted a LAPTOP for gaming and other household purposes. >Budget: about $1000 >Battery life is not extremely important. This is the laptop I bought: https://www.amazon.com/Lenovo-Legion-Y520-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B06XWFCKYX If I am asking for too much, then I sincerely apologize.

Hi, I have just received a used MSI GTX 1050ti double fan armor edition that was advertised as "fans spinning, no signal". I am hoping to solve the issue with your help but I won't complain if I have to take it to a repair shop either as it was really quite cheap. System specs: MB: MSI X99A RAIDER GPU (previously used): 1070 Founders edition RAM: 16GB DDR4 G.Skill Ripjaws 3200MHz (currently running as 2133MHz with XMP off) CPU: Intel i7-5820K @3.3GHz (currently running at stock speeds) PSU: SilentiumPC L1 vero 600W bronze 80+ (Polish brand) OS: Win10 pro I will break the problem down for easier digestion and to show what steps I had already taken 1. The 1050ti fans are spinning, the PC does not shut down but there is no display on the monitor (when running 1050ti by itself) 2. 1050ti does not appear in device manager while it sits in a second PCIe slot (first occupied by a 1070) 3. After searching through some forums I uninstalled nvidia drivers using DDU (to no avail) 4. My motherboard's bios (Board explorer) shows my 1070 in either PCIe slot I put it in but the slot 1050ti is plugged into is always shown as "empty" My guess is that something is wrong with the cards power intake. What do you think, is it salvagable?

One day I opened up my computer and it would not allow me to see the desktop. I'm not sure if this was caused by the windows 1803 update, but it did start sometime after the update. I've tried messing around with the settings to no avail. I attached some photos to show all that is an option. If you could offer any assistance that would be great.

I have been playing counterstrike for about a year now and recently the game has given up on me. I am unable to get into a match without my computer having a problem when playing and I can't find a way to fix it. I had an audio problem for forever that I couldn't fix so I use different headphones but now I will randomly disconnect from the match and rejoin 10 seconds or so later. I also experience stutters that happen seemingly right before I come into contact with the opposing force. I have tried everything I can think of but I think its a networking problem. If you have time and can respond maybe we can get to the bottom of this thank you very much! Information you may need: MacBook Pro, 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3. FPS in game: ~60-90 (depending on map) Networking settings: rate 700000, cmd rate 64, update rate 64, interpolate 0 (or lowest u can have), interp_ratio 1. I have changed these alot and it doesn't seem to make a difference in fixing my stuttering and disconnecting. Internet speed: ~8 Mbps (line speed is 8) No I am not using ethernet, Mac unfortunately sucks and thinks that we need to have a computer so thin u can't use one and instead use a thunderbolt port I have never heard of. All settings are as low as possible with a 4:3 aspect ratio fullscreen windowed at 1024 x 800 or something like that as resolution. This is called stretched mode if you are wondering why I have aspect and fullscreen windowed like that. Thank you!

Hey guys! Literally JUST built my first computer and I got in to the bios to check everything.. Saw that my RAM (corsair vengeance lpx 2666mhz) wasn't displayed as advertised but instead as 2133mhz..? I selected the D.O.C.P. 4 setting in the Ai overclock tuner which described the optimal system settings for 2666mhz memory.. Shouldn't there be like a X.M.P mode or something? Should I just go with the D.O.C.P. 4 setting?
