Something is seriously wrong with my pc, and I have no idea what it is. I’m experiencing occasional blue screens, application crashes, and games breaking/falling apart. I’ve attached some photos of examples bellow. In the first photo (which I like to call door horse) my game went from being completely fine for 20 minutes, to having audio cut out and having that happen in the place of a cut scene. Other examples include ground textures not being rendered, or just normal crashes to desktop. These issues also aren’t exclusive to red dead, as many other games are experiencing crashes and randomly freezing (doom eternal, minecraft, destiny 2 and the last of us, however Red Dead 2 is just the most extreme example of the issues I’m experiencing.) Many of these crashes are also accompanied by a notification telling me to verify integrity of game files, but doing so hasn’t resolved anything. My pc is also somehow completely fine at editing intensive footage (Sony 4:2:2 10bit xavc s 140mb/s footage from my a7iv) in both premier pro and after effects, as well as being completely fine at rendering. My pc was also somehow completely fine at playing TLOU when it first dropped on pc as a broken mess, however now it is basically unplayable with consistent crashing and having to open the game 3 times to actually get it to work. My specs are an i713700kf, 32gb of 3600mhz ddr4 ram, 2tb ssd, a 3060 Ti, 850w psu, and an asus B660 motherboard. Both the cpu and motherboard have been replaced via warranty, and my pc has been tested with both other sticks of ram and other gpus (3200mhz 16gb and a 2060 respectively). My pc was also given to a repair shop, and replacing the ssd showed the same issues. We have gone through multiple windows installs, and my pc has been rebuilt multiple times. This has been going for months and it feels like we are getting nowhere, and if someone has any idea what’s wrong it’d be greatly appreciated. One important note is that my pc seemed to act mostly fine when the cpu was replaced, as it’d let me play Red dead for 1-3 hours before anything weird would happen. Replacing the cpu was the closest I’ve been to actually fixing this pc. Also, my blue screen codes have been varied, but ‘Video memory management internal’ and ‘irql not less or equel’ have shown up at least twice respectively. Any help would be appreciated, and thank you in advance

hi, just built my built my first pc with some spare parts and some new ones from my 8y old pc which broke. Upon booting for the first time there was no post and cpu debug led turned on.Replaced my mobo with a new one. Now after booting still no post but no debug led's on either. All the fans work and run, even the light on my mouse lights up but i have still yet to see the bios page. I then replaced my gpu cause the heat sink looked really corroded but the same problem still persisted Someone told me a bios update was needed for my mobo for my cpu and mobo to be compatible but im still not quite sure. Also noticed the light next to the power button flickers at random when i turn the pc on, not sure if thats related to anything. Please help, thanks! CPU: Intel i3 12100f (new) Mobo: MSI pro H610M-g DDR4 (new and replaced) RAM: Samsung 8GB RAM sticks(M378A1G43EB1-CPB) (8 years old) GPU: XFX SWFT210 rx 6600 (new)/Asus 1660 super(new) CPU Cooler: intel stock cooler (new) Boot SSD: Samsung 870 QVO 2TB SSD (5-7 years old) Secondary SSD: Crucial P3 500gb m.2 ssd (new) PSU: FSP HV pro (2 years old) OS: Windows 10 64 bit Case: Deepcool Mattrexx 40 at this point the only thing i have not replaced is the cpu and power supply. I used the other parts( ram, ssd and m.2ssd) in a seperate pc and they all work fine.

Hello, I have had a problem with my PC for a bout a year now where games freeze randomly then crash either to desktop or the windows not responding thing I don't know much about computers but I have tried most things from updating drivers to reinstalling windows. I can play most games but with performance penalties. The main games I can not play are the new Modern Warfare and lately the new Assassins Creed. But yesterday I ran the chkdsk /r on my main C : drive where my windows is installed and I could play the new AC afterwards with only a few stutters that lasted a few seconds but today when I booted up my PC I could not get into the game without it freezing then crashing the same as before I did the chkdsk so my question is do I need a new main hardrive or is it a windows problem? My specs are: GPU: NVIDIA GEFORCE 1070 8GB CPU: RYZEN 7 2700X RAM: Corsair 16GB Dual Channel OS: Windows 10 Home 64-bit Motherboard: ASUSTEK CROSSHAIR VI HERO (AM4) BIOS Version: American Megatrends Inc. Version 7501 Date 23-Sep-19 No software running other than the game launcher (steam, Uplay)

About 2 weeks ago my pc began stuttering in games. Then a few days ago it would crash and require a hard reboot every 15 minutes or so when gaming. However, at this time the pc was still running normally for regular task. Then this morning when I turned on my pc, everything has been running slowly. I performed a user benchmark test and it came back with the results that my CPU Gpu and SSD are all performing below 6 percentile. Here is a link to the Test: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/26000464 Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've recently upgraded my pc from a R7 370 to a R9 Fury (non X), since I heard and my friend said that it's as good as a GTX 1070, I did research and looked at benchmarks and I was hooked so I bought it. After installing the card, I started up GTA 5, but right when I loaded in I was seeing sub-60fps and into the 30's. I did a benchmark run and sub-60 fps across the board, I have tried lowest resolutions but the lower resolutions have no effect on the FPS. So, I looked at benchmarks on youtube with the same card and they were getting 100's of fps. They did have an Intel i5-3570 @ 4.2ghz, and I have my AMD FX 8350 Black Edition @4.0Ghz Stock. I've done research on why this could be happening and I found out it could be a PCI-E Express issue and I did see that my GPU is PCI-E Express x16 3.0 while my mobo is PCI-E Express x16 2.0 but I looked and people are saying that it shouldn't make a difference, but then I was seeing that the 8350 is a bottleneck and some are saying that it doesn't bottleneck. So I'm either thinking it's a CPU issue, or if not then a different hardware issue. I just want one definite answer so I can find out what I have to buy to remove this issue, and have a great gaming pc that I can play great games at good framerates and be able to enjoy them without being annoyed at the FPS counter always being at sub-60fps. With CSGO for example, I'm pretty sure that I was getting better FPS on my old R7 370 GPU on the same settings than my new R9 Fury, it sometimes drops to sub-60fps when I'm playing while on my old R7 370 it would always stay above 100fps+ at least. In Rocket League, I never drop below 100fps and in most of the time it's in the 200's. Now in Rainbow Six: Siege, on the same settings, my old gpu would get higher fps than my current card, the R9 Fury, the Fury may have the default settings at the max settings, but I'm expecting higher fps. I'm hoping to selling my old R7 370, so if needed I can use the money I get for the card towards an upgrade to my pc. But I would like as much help as I can get to fix this issue because I can't do it on my own and I want to feel confident that once I've bought new parts, that it's the right decision, and I know that it will fix my pc. Thanks for the help! Hello all, I'm having some incredibly frustrating issues with my PC. For the last several weeks it will crash seemingly at random. After a few hours gaming, or only watching YouTube, or even doing literally nothing at the desktop. Sometimes it goes a few days with no issues, sometimes it crashes repeatedly. Its usually a complete lock-up. No response from anything, including the power button, and I am forced to flip the switch on the PSU. I've tried 3 different graphics cards, 2 sets of RAM, 2 PSUs, 2 motherboards, and 2 boot drives each with a fresh Win10 install. Both motherboards had the issue before and after updating everything there was to update from manufacturers. At this point the only things I have not tried is a new CPU and replacing my surge protector. Event Viewer shows no useful information. There are only normal "Information" entries showing no issues or errors until a sudden "Critical" from where I've had to hard reset. Temperatures are well within range when this happens. Highest temp was 67C on my CPU during the most recent crashes. I'm truly at a loss here and figured I should check with the peeps here. Been a long time lurker, but never really posted. If anybody has any tips at all, let me know. Specs for reference: CPU: Ryzen 2600 MOBO: Gigabyte B450M DS3H AM4 RAM: Ballistix BLS2K4G4D240FSB 8 GB Kit (4 GB x 2) DDR4 2400 PSU: EVGA Supernova NEX650G GPU: EVGA GTX 760 SC Just upgraded 3 weeks ago from: CPU: FX-6300 RAM: 1x8GB Crucial Ballistic Sport MOBO: AM3 Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 So Thursday last week I shut down the PC fine and I've had no issues with it at all. Friday I went to turn it on in the morning and nothing so I thought somehow maybe the fuse had tripped, checked and it hadn't. Tried a different power cable I had laying around and again nothing. So I took the side panel off and checked every cable was seated and hadn't wriggled free, also reseated the ram tried to power on and nothing only the fans span for a second or so. I went home from the weekend and I've come back just hoping maybe it would start and nothing again. So I pulled out the old setup I had so just plugged the PSU into that, only having the CPU and Motherboard power cables in the PSU and again just the fans spinning for 1s. From what I can tell from looking online there must have been a power surge or something that has blown the PSU? Should I just get a new PSU or a full new setup? I have no way of testing the board as I'm at University without another power supply... Is there hope that the rest of my components are fine and just the PSU has gone? It's probably 5/6 years old or maybe even older by now. Any advice or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My pc specs: CPU: I7 9700KF MOBO: Msi MPG z390 gaming edge RAM Viper steel RAM (2 x 8gb 3000mhz) GPU: Sapphire nitro rx480 oc CPU COOLER: Using noctua nhd-15 PSU: Corsair VS650 This is my first time upgrading my pc so i bought the new cpu/mobo/ram and cpu cooler. I used my previous gpu, psu, hdd and ssd. I built this yesterday in the beautiful fractal design meshify c. It took longer than id like to admit but in the end i followed a guide and got it working (or so i thought) with some alright cable management. Anyway the issue is that when i connect my monitors to thr gpu they do not display. The gpu fans are also the only ones that do not spin at all when i power the pc. I have tried the gpu in both pcie slots and no luck. I cannot use onboard graphics because as mentioned earlier i opted for the i79700KF to save some money (regretting that now) Just wondering if anyone could help at all or if i need to buy a new gpu. Really have no idea what to do.

The PC: PCPartPicker Part List CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K 4 GHz Quad-Core Processor Motherboard: Asus Z170 PRO GAMING ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2666 CL19 Memory Storage: Samsung 950 PRO 512 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive Storage: Seagate Barracuda 3 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB DUKE 11G Video Card Optical Drive: LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link Archer T9E PCIe x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi Adapter And also one of these: [PCIe NVMe expansion card] (https://www.orico.me/product/orico-m-2-nvme-to-pci-e-3-0-x4-expansion-card-psm2/) The Problem: This PC has been serving me well for a few years now, however I recently decided to upgrade by adding the second NVMe drive (the 970 EVO Plus). The original EVO 950 PRO was taking up the m.2 slot on the board, so I ordered the PCIe expansion card above. After installing the card into the 3rd PCIe 16x slot (board only has 1x and 16x slots) and powering up, there was no signal from GPU. After plugging the monitor cable over to the onboard GPU and restarting, I went into BIOS which showed no GPU installed in slot 1. The card was lighting up so was definitely still getting power. What I have tried so far After booting into windows, I initialised and formatted the new drive, and downloaded the latest motherboard firmware from the Asus website. I rebooted, installed the firmware, but the issue remained. I have tried various slot combinations (GPU in slot 2, PCIe extension in slot 2 or 1), playing around with BIOS settings, forcing PCIe to force gen3 but nothing has worked so far. I found the following PCIe lane diagram for the Z170 chipset which indicates that it should work if I plug the extension into slot 3 with the GPU in slot 1: It also indicates that I have plenty of PCIe lanes available (16 from CPU to cover GPU, 20 more from chipset to cover everything else. Other details Another thing I noticed, was the after booting back into windows I could not access the newly formatted drive. Disk management showed the drive as RAW and attempting to format it gave an instant error. I haven't been able to shed much light by reading the motherboard manual, and everything I have found online so far suggests that it should work. My suspicion at this point is that the 16x slots are configured to only take graphics cards - but I can't find anything to prove that or otherwise. I know this is older generation hardware but I am at my wits end after trying to figure this out all weekend! A link to the motherboard manual: from Asus website .

I’ve had problems with my recently new built computer. It’s not performing close to how it should. I’ve read as many posts as i could instead of making my own trying to not make it harder for you guys. But at this point i’m desperate and ready to try anything. All ideas and tips are appreciated! When i play Overwatch, my fps is very unstable, It jumps between 200 -275 constantly when im out of combat, And then goes to 130 during combat. (This is on the low preset). In also struggling with fps in other titles like Fortnite or Witcher 3. Specs: MSI GTX 1070 ARMOR OC 8 GB intel i7-8700k @ 4.3Ghz Fractal Design Integra M 650 W 1x16 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000MHZ Asus Prime z370-P BenQ XL2411 144HZ 1080p Things ive tried and done. Reinstalling windows reinstalling drivers Checked task manager Monitor connected to gpu Checked power plan and nvidia control panel(turned on maximum performance, vsync off, etc) Set bios to default. ran xmp profile Checked cpu multiplier, frequency Display is connected to GPU. Xbox DVR is turned off Made sure that windows is using all of the ”processors” in the cpu in msconfig. Cpu is on 30c when idle and 45-55 while in games. Gpu 40c then 60-65 in games. I was thinking if it’s the RAM running single channel, but could that make such a huge difference? Also thinking if its some weird BIOS setting. I ran Uniengine on ultra preset and got a score of 2200 while ive seen people reaching scores of 3100 Any replies are appreciated!

I am facing a problem since last week. At some random time, the PC freezes and nothing happens. Nothing works including keyboard and mouse even the caps doesn't light on/off. It started a few days back only before that it never happened. I uninstalled the anti-virus which was the latest installation on the pc. But nothing seems to work. I have to shut down the laptop forcefully using the power button and restart. Is it something to do with windows update?? Please help I have a HP laptop with i5 and 12 gb ram.

Guys hi there! I will be direct to the point here cause' I think it's not only me that has/had this issue, "My fps drops dramatically from 90~100 to 20~40 like rekt" Games affected are: team fortress 2, dota 2, cs: global offensive, league of legends and dead island epidemic. But I believe we need to focus on the steam/valve titles first if we fix this we basically fix everything so. Specs are: windows 7~64bit ultimate sp1 Core i3 - 4160 @ 3.6ghz (non-overclocked) GA-H97M-D3H G.skill ripjawsX (XMP cl9-9-9-24 is activated no voltage overclocks cause' xmp does that automatically anyway) [RipjawsX] F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL DDR3-1600 (PC3-12800) 8GB (4GBx2) CL9-9-9-24 1.50 Volt HDD WD blue 7200 rpm ASUS DVD-R combo RW drive AMD Graphics (Sapphire r7 250X 1GB gddr5) (non-overclocked) PSU thermal master by cooler master 500w and a 500w IVR Here's what I've tried so far: updated windows and drivers ~ check! checked internal components for dust and residue ~ check! checked temps while gaming ranges 49~60C/64C and 39~40C at idle room temps ~ check! (I supposed to be very well under Tcase values) Bitdefender antivirus 2015 installed ~ check! (but I don't know is to whether it causes the issue or not)(please help. autopilot active) Running every game on max settings ~ check! cause graphics card can handle it fine (but I'm not sure if running all max settings can cause these fps drops) please help. dust issues ~ check! this is a new pc barely 3 months old but is still checked hsf no bulging residue or dust. thermal issues ~ check! I installed and oiled all case fans accordingly thermal reading show below Tcase temp values which is good even in gaming. Check voltages ~ still in progress I have little knowledge in checking voltage anomalies from the psu. please help. defragged and left only the minimum startup at msconfig excluding(not touching ms services) left bitdefender on at all times in auto pilot and noticed game profile is on when gaming steam client bootstrap and services are on at msconfig startup. and finally, a re-launch of apps does not fix fps drops across all games, but a full restart will, and I notice on some startups bios starts slow delaying the bios beep and can take a full 2 minutes and some seconds to get you to the windows login screen "note: when this slow startup issue happens the fps drops will occur" Any ideas friends? any tips? please help. I will greatly with all my heart accept any advises with gratitude. at normal state w/out the issues happening LOL is at 180+ fps at max 1600x900 resolutions 75hz screen CS:GO is at 140+ fps at max 1600x900 resolutions 75hz screen DOTA 2 is at 95+ fps at max 1600x900 resolutions 75hz screen and TF2 is at 140+ fps at max 1600x900 resolutions 75hz screen checked wiring everything is plugged in hard made sure that connections are pushed - in so tight at cpu component level. Any ideas friends? any tips? please help. I will greatly with all my heart accept any advises with gratitude.

Hello, For the past few months,my new gaming rig has suffered from constant lockups( screen freezes, sound stops, devices become useless, and a manual reset is required). This will be a very long post so be prepared. I am going to leave NOTHING out as I want to limit the amount of questions asked so we can get to the bottom of this can of worms. I live in Western NY, Warm summers and freeing winters lol. I built this PC in mid-August and it ran perfectly at my house until mid-September. At first, the lockups only happened once a week but became more and more frequent as the weeks went on. I came to a point where I could not use my PC whatsoever. I have tried EVERYTHING to find out what's wrong. I have swapped RAM out, Swapped GPU's as I have r9 270X's in Xfire. I have replaced the PSU twice. I now bought an 850W EVGA Supernova G2, top of the line PSU I guess. The ones I had before I was told were terrible ( LEPA 800W MaxBronze, Raidmax Vampire 800W Gold). I have ran Windows memory diagnosis to rule a RAM issue out. It found nothing wrong. The biggest clue I believe I found was this: I brought my PC along with every single piece of my setup to my buddy's house. I hooked everything up as I would at my house. The only things being different was the ethernet cable and the house's power itself. For almost a week, we ran my PC there, never turning it off, gaming, surfing the web and everything. We COULD NOT get it to lock up or do anything like it does at my house. This led me to believe that it was an issue with my houses power. Maybe my PC wasn't getting enough power or it wasn't getting clean power. Upon inspection, the outlet I was using was grounded ( as were the dozen other outlets about the house that I have tried) I am getting a steady wattage and voltage before during and after my PC locks up ( no spikes or dips). We also routed my PC it's own personal breaker, locked up. we turned off all breaker in the entire house so my PC was the only thing in the whole house on, locked up. I did the light bulb test, light bulb did not dim when the PC locked up. I even bought a Volt Regulator which did not help at all. Internet connection was something I thought could be the issue. I disconnected my PC from the internet as well as using a different ethernet than the one I had been using. Both of those trials led in lockups or blue screens which can occasionally happen but not nearly as often as lockups. I keep and run my PC in my basement as it is the only place I can get privacy and stay out of the family's way. The basement can get very cold. In the summer, it never gets warmer than 70*F or so and in the winter like right now, It can get as low as 45-50*F. Recently, I have tried very unorthodox troubleshooting. I put my PC on power saving mode and kept my case fans on the lowest setting. That night my PC did not lockup once. Normally I am not able to keep it on for 5 minutes let alone 5 hours or more! The next night however, I powered my PC on and suffered from one lockup when I started Steam but after resetting, It worked fine. The following night, I did get 3 lockups in a row when starting Steam and browsing the internet. Aggravated, I opened my PC up and unplugged my case fan on the side panel. " Why not?" I was willing to do anything. The lockups stopped after that and only happen once every time I turn on my computer. I do a manual reset and it will work until the next time I turn it on. Lockups tend to only happen on the internet or steam. Keep in mind that the connection itself has no bearing because it locked up without being connected as well. It seemed that if I managed to get a game going for awhile and avoid a lockup by luck, my PC will run fine. but I will get on chrome for a few hours after and eventually...I'll get a lockup. So, here's the question, can a PC's lockup from being too cold. upon startup, ASRock A-Tuning says that my CPU temp is around 25-27*C. I do not know how cold other components are though. I'd assume the GPU's would be cool as well. I do recall one time moving my PC to my room where it can be freezing at night. I gamed on it all night and it worked fine there until I put it to sleep and woke it up in the morning, It locked up immediately. This is just the last thing I think this issue could be. Well, tell me you're thoughts and may Gaben be with you all
