I'm in need of a new PC for full-time video editing (Adobe Suite with some rather involved AE renders on short deadlines) as well as doing remote live stream production (using VMix and OBS). Looking for the Ryzen 9 5950x/5900x and the RTX 3090 but obviously those have been tough to find (let alone at a decent price) so I'm assuming a pre built is still the way to go? Currently looking at this (photo attached) setup from NZXT but haven't bought a prebuilt before so curious if there is a fantastic integrator out there that I'm forgetting. (Should clarify that I have a nice NZXT full tower sitting empty on a shelf and plenty of storage that I'm moving over from my old PC.)

Hey! I'm looking to upgrade my RAM to 32GB for After Effects, Cinema4D and Premiere work. My current setup is as follows: - AMD Ryzen 3700x - G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB (2x8) 3200Mhz CL14 - Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti - Gigabyte x570 Aorus Elite I'm looking at the G.Skill Trident Z Neo RGB 32GB (2x16) 3200Mhz CL16 and the HyperX Fury RGB 32GB (2x16) 3200Mhz CL16, at 198€ and 170€ respectively. I'm planning to sell my current RAM sticks for maybe something around 85€. I'm aware 3200Mhz at CL14 is ideal for this CPU but the prices skyrocket way out of my budget and I've heard CL16 is also a pretty solid choice. My question is, is there a difference between the HyperX and the G.Skill sticks considering they have the same frequencies and latency or can there be differences in performance between the two due to different brands? If so, is it noticeable at all? Does the HyperX work as well with this Ryzen as the G.Skill does? Or do you have any other recommendations? Thank you!

Hey guys can anyone recommend a good monitor for my new Pc. I usually create motion graphic templates in A.E and I will also be doing a good bit of gaming. I have a RTX 2070 Super if that helps . I currently have an Acer R271 which has been okay but since I'm going 4K Id like at least a 32" inch monitor. My budget is around £800 but I could stretch it a little. Thanks for any recommendations. I have done a lot of searching but I thought I'd ask possibly some one might recommend one that I maybe haven't come across... Some features that i was looking for in the monitor; Wide Color Gamut: atleast 95 - 100% in either SRGB or DCI-P3?? HDR Freesync or G-Sync Nothing higher than 5ms response time IPS Panel Id like to get a monitor that would take advantage of the features of my gpu

My parts list (though I did not or am not buying anything from the listed stores, I don't live in North America) https://pcpartpicker.com/list/fg9tRG Initial core components Parts newly purchased i7-6900K (new purchase, as listed in the list) Corsair CPU cooler (new purchase, as listed in the list) Asus Rampage V logic board (new purchase, as listed in the list) 64GB (4x 16GB) DDR4-2400 RAM (new purchase, as listed in the list) Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD for OS and Applications (new purchase, as listed in the list) Samsung 960 EVO 1TB SSD for active project and Flame store (new purchase, as listed in the list) 780T Case (new purchase, as listed in the list) ThunderboltEX III (new purchase, not in the list) Parts recycled from previous build nVidia Quadro M4000 GTX Titan X (Maxwell) 850W power supply (mentioned in the part list above) Extra red sleeved cables I had lying around Parts awaiting installment Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD for CentOS, there's some data on it that needs to be copied to another drive before installing in the new build. And a few smaller capacity SSDs taken out from older computers for temporary use. Items to be added/replaced in the future after purchase Quadro P5000 (2-way SLI) 2TB SATA III SSD's WD HDD's for local/direct archiving So my goal is to build a rig capable of (at least) 4K real time'ish editing in Autodesk Flame (Linux version). We already have one black cylinder Mac Pro that my fellow DoP is using and while I prefer OSX as my operating system of choice, I don't want to buy the black Mac Pro due to a few reasons: I want nVidia GPUs instead of the current FirePro D700. I want PCIe and SATA III (at least) expansion slots for additional storage instead of having to connect external Thunderbolt drives. I don't like AMD in general (which is why I picked a 6900K instead of a Ryzen). If Apple came out with a nVidia Quadro based Mac Pro in the future, I will strongly consider buying one. So I decided to build a new machine based on a few spare components lying around until I can acquire the ideal parts I need. From a previous i7-4790K gaming build, I had a spare Titan X (Maxwell) and since this new build will become the main editing workstation I decided to take the Quadro M4000 it had inside. Right now the old gaming/editing rig has only a single Titan X left. But I had to buy a new CPU, logic board, memory, etc. I had leftover red sleeved cables, not enough for everything. I initially didn't want to make the build stylish in anyway because my first choice for a case was a Define XL R2 (no windows, none of the interior visible). Since I had spare sleeved cables I decided to make it stylish instead and switched to the Graphite 780T. Since I was going for the 780T case, I considered making a RGB color build and using white sleeved cables so that the ambient lighting will give the white cables a color hue, but will be using the red cables for the time being until I find the time to order new cables and get RGB fans and additional lighting. Looking good is not the priority here, being able to use it for work is the priority. @scottyseng Here are a couple of photos of the completed (for the time being) build. In the second photo you'll also see a bit of our studio, still a work in progress to get it organized. The office and editing suites side is finished, the filming side is not. Since I didn't have enough spare red sleeved cables (which are leftovers from my previous build), I still have a lot of black stock cables in use. And the cables/stuff I can't change color are the CPU cooler water pipes, USB 2.0 header cables to attach stuff like the Corsair Link connection, the Thunderbolt header cable that came with the Asus ThunderboltEX III card, some fan cables. The Quadro M4000 is in PCIe slot 1 and is the main GPU, the Titan is below the Thunderbolt card, and is the workhorse GPU with all the extra CUDA cores and horsepower. I don't think I'll be using the included Asus SupremeFX Hi-Fi DAC for much longer, since I have an USB audio interface at one of my other offices that I will be bringing in to connect my nearfield monitors. The Asus DAC is currently sitting in the top 5.25" bay, with a DVD drive below it. The DVD drive is mainly for reading some old archives we have on disc.

Hey guys, I do motion graphics and 3D/VFX stuff partly from home and am fed up with external storages, cloud solutions etc. etc. I'm looking for a NAS solution with the following requirements: - should be able to work off of - low power consumption - low cost (bang for my buck) - ssd cache?! - at first RAID1 4tb (possible upgrade to eg. RAID5) - small form factor - provide clients with a download link - (not necessarily) stream video content to a projector I built some motion graphics rigs in the past, so I'm not a complete hardware noob =P Can you guys give me some advice on this?

Wondering how many here use DaVinci Resolve and/or Fusion, and whether people use the free version or the studio version. If you use another suite of applications, it's fine too. TIP: For those who own the paid version of Resolve or Fusion, but more specifically the versions that use the USB dongle instead of activation code. Did you know that you can use the Fusion USB dongle to run the studio version of Resolve, and with the newest version of Fusion that is in beta right now, Fusion 16, the Resolve dongle will be supported. You do not need to have two USB dongles connected to run both applications. Resolve dongle is unfortunately not supported by Fusion 9, it will be in Fusion 16. This technically means, if you own the USB dongle for Fusion you can also use DaVinci Resolve Studio 15 and maybe a few older versions, and if you own the Resolve USB dongle you can run Fusion 16 Studio (whichever version you feel like installing, beta or wait for final release). While it may not be ethical, the way BlackMagic has designed the software means you only need to buy the USB dongle for one software to run both.

I am a Digital Designer, and I've been working with a Apple computers for more than 5 years now. It's time to invest in a new more powerful computer, and I don't live in the US, so I've been researching computer building companies like Xidax, Origin PC, etc. Xidax seems to offer the best deal, specially because of the Lifetime Parts Warranty and their customer service has been great so far. They've helped me with my build and answered all my questions. I wanted to ask around if anyone has any reviews or experience with this company, specially because I am ordering from another country I want to make sure I make a good investment. NOTE: This is intended as a workstation build, NOT a gaming rig. I use the Adobe Suite and mostly work creating motion graphics, video editing and 3D (I use C4D+Octane Render but still have to use C4D's render from time to time). Also, I am NOT considering building the rig myself for a main reason, and that is that I live in Venezuela, and having parts (or anything for that matter) shipped here is already very expensive, a huge hassle (shipping and mail don't work here anywhere near as good as they do in the US). So ordering all the parts, have em shipped all the way here and then having a part not working correctly or something go wrong, I can't just return the part because that would mean more money spent in International Shipping, plus more time to wait, and more hassle, so I decided to go with a company that can build the computer for me, test it and guarantee that it will work as soon as I plug it in. Here's the build that I am planning to buy: MSI Z179 Krait ATX Intel Quad Core™ i7-6700 Processor - Liquid Cooled 32 GB DDR4 RAM Corsair 750W PSU 24x Asus DVD-RW combo PCI-Express Wireless-N Adapter NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980ti 6GB - Overclocked 240Gb SSD + 1TB HDD (x2 in Raid 1) Windows 10 Home Premium 64 bit FREE Rise of Tomb Raider Game FREE Lifetime Support _______________________________________ $2,634 Total Keep in mind that a build made at Origin PC with 16Gb of ram and a GTX 970 came to about $2,800 so this is still a better machine and at a better price. I was suggested to make a Xeon based system in another forum, but to my understanding those are WAY more expensive and apparently Xidax doesn't offer Xeon based systems, OriginPC does, but they start at more than $2,500 and my budget (including shipping) is $3,000. Of course I want this system to be future proof, as I would like to be able to upgrade this to better CPU's/GPU's/RAM as time goes by and technologies advance, but I am talking in a few years. Here's the link to the configuration I have going at Xidax > https://www.xidax.com/desktops/x-6/?saveconfig=86160, feel free to edit anything, and to save the configuration just hit the button at the top, enter your email and then copy that link from your email and paste it here. I really appreciate any help from anyone on this! Thanks!
