Dear reader, So I'm having a bit of a situation here. I am employed at a car workshop and recently we've needed to update some software tools to service new car models. Our Mercedes contact sent us these pieces of software on a disc. Now for whatever reason that's beyond me Mercedes' Xentry software comes on a Blu-Ray disc. Now the problem is that the laptop that I service cars with does not have a Blu-ray drive and will not read the data on the disc. I also do not have a desktop computer available that has a Blu-Ray drive. I find it mindbogglingly stupid that ANY piece of software comes on a Blu-Ray disc, especially because its poorly supported on pc and in my mind meant for movies. It doesn't make any sense to me. Now I am certain it's not a video file or anything because it says its installation media for the Xentry program. Does anyone have any idea how I can get a Blu-Ray disc to play on my laptop and read the data since Blu-Ray hardware support on PC seems to be pretty thin, even more so on laptops. I'm desperate for a solution because I need to software to do my job. The only solution I could come up with is order a desktop pc drive that supports it and somehow wire it up to my laptop. Hello, I'm a new CLS owner, so I do bolster a few queries: 1. Is it actually possible to change all of the interior trim within my CLS from piano lacquer to OEM carbon fiber? If so, how would I identify which parts I need to purchase (model number, etc.) and, then, where to purchase said parts? 2. It is also possible to replace the foam things that are on the AMG steering wheel? The foam where the hands grip on the steering wheel are quite dirty. Or would I simply need to just purchase an entirely new wheel? 3. Also, the shifter that is directly in the middle of the console has an AMG stamped within its leather, which is now worn. How would I go about replacing that? 4. How could I go about reconditioning the black leather seats? They are mildly worn in the front. If any of these queries could be answered, I'd truly be thankful! Thank You, -Will

Hi, Idrive a mecades c300 4matic and I was wondering about the manual shifting. I know how to drive a manual but whenever I start to use the paddle shifters it will switch back to automatic if I don't shift for a while and am just driving in that gear. Any solution?

Its not surprising to see that MBs head would have such comments against Apples plan to make a car, because Apples choice is crazy. The automotive industry runs off razor thin margins and is brutally competitive in a way that Apple has never had to put up with before; getting people to spend 700 on a phone is one thing. 70,000 on a car requires a little bit more than just the badge. The industry has also been unkind to recent startups in the sector, Tesla is the only that one brute forced its way to being very relevant. What I do see is that Apple is determined to make Project Titan a thing. Either it will be a fantastic failure, or fantastic. With the amount of money they are dumping into this, with employees and engineers and everything else, they're taking it seriously so say the least. To Mercedes, since I like you guys, don't let hubris get in your way. You know the last company that questioned the ability of a PC maker to make phones? Palm. They don't exist anymore. The other company that dropped the ball on the product they themselves created? Kodak and the digital camera. Go see how well Kodak is doing. I'd be wary and take it seriously, if I were them. Apple is a company, if they wanted to, could straight up buy these automakers and enter the field that way.
