Hello everyone, I want to buy a used phone for 150-200 euro. I found 4 options but I don't really know which one to pick. The phones are: HTC one M8 for €140 1 of 28 months and 1 of 22 months old LG G4 for €225 12 months old LG Nexus 5 for €110 I guess more than a year (simtray partially broken) Sony Xperia Z2 for €175 4 months old The HTC is on 5.1 while the rest is on 6.0. I dont know how big of a diffrence that is. I need your advice on which phone to pick and why -Jelmrtje99k

Hello yall! I currently have a HTC One M8. Its getting very old now, but I'm not really aware of what phone is out there. I'm so in love with the quality of the screen (you can't see the pixels, colors are so vivid, never seen a screen comparable), its sturdiness, its perfect weight, its size, its stainless back, etc. But especially the screen and its for that reason I haven't changed yet. My bf has the new Pixel 2, and its nothing like the M8 imo. Its too lightweight and for some reason I can't keep it in my hand lol, i'm having a hard time having a good grip... Anyway, the M8 has served me very well many years, but its time to change. Its getting laggy, camera/light sensor is broken... I paid 250$ used for it and I'd like to find an other deal like this. I'm not willing to go with iPhone. I've seen the new iPhone X, its screen is amazing, but paying over 1k$ makes no sense to me. Is it me or HTC is not sold anywhere now? I can't recall having seen a HTC in a phone booth for a while. My brother had an M8 and thats why I felt in love with it. Sorry for my bad english.. TLDR: Looking for HTC One M8 replacement. Must have same or better screen/sound quality and sturdiness. Not necessarily looking for the most powerful phone, but I'd like it to last me an other 4 years. Want it to be a good overall phone. I'm not very aware of what is out there. Also not looking to pay more than 500$. Very willing to buy used. Won't pay phone monthly. I'm in Quebec, Canada. Thank you

Ok. So. I'm pretty new to the Android software game, so this may be a pretty easy fix, but its something that's been bothering me for awhile. I have an HTC one M8, with 6.20 Android Marshmallow operating system. There is no launcher on it, just the normal HTC. The problem I'm having is with the moving emoji feature on Snapchat video. The update has supposedly been out for Android devices since April, however it just doesn't work on my phone, despite my phone being updated, as well as the app. And I wouldn't think my phone is too outdated. It's only 2 years old. Like I said this is probably a very petty/small scale problem, but idk what to do. Ive tried all the ways the emoji feature is supposed to work (tap, hold, etc.) yet it still doesn't work. If anyone has any insight, it would be greatly appreciated.

I have broken my HTC One m8 with verizon's own repair tool and they will not cover my phone because I have attempted and semi rooted my phone which voided the warranty. My last OS was android marshmallow and my bootloader has s-on and says official because i factory reset it a bunch of times but it still won't work. When i attempt to boot into android, it only goes to the static htc logo without the one animation or verizon animation. Please suggest anything that can help as it may work.

My snapchat app has been acting up for awhile now. I have an HTC one m8, and ever since getting the phone, the snapchat app has not allowed me to take a full video. Only around 7 seconds, never 10. The video stops as if I remove my finger after 7-8 seconds. It's really annoying, because I think it restricts my ability to put slow motion and speed filters on my videos, but that may be an unrelated issue. So if you have a solution to, that would also be helpful. If you have any questions feel free to ask, and thanks in advance.

Phone literally farted the other day. It ran out of battery and died, no biggie. I put it on charge and it didn't show a charging light, then the charging light ( instead of being a solid orange light) began flashing, I left it overnight and it charged, but now the problem is that IT DOESNT PLAY AND SOUND, AND DOESNT PLAY ANY VIDEO FROM THE INTERNET. So I can play a video from my gallery, but without sound, I can't play youtube videos at all ( it loads the thumbnail, but when I press play it just says that " there was a problem while playing"). When I play videos on google chrome on my phone it plays them but without sound, and when I try and play any music from my soundcloud or my music which ive downloaded it doesnt play. The sound doesn't play when I have headphones in either. I have no clue whats wrong, I havent dropped my phone or done anything to it physically, what I have done is googled the problem on my pc and it told me to wipe the cache partition, which I did, but that didnt do anything to the video and audio situation. ANYTHING I CAN DO? damn

I was just trying to connect my HTC One M8 (Verizon) to my computer to create a backup. However, when I connected my phone via the original USB cable, the computer recognized that it is connected, but HTC Sync manager didn't even acknowledge that the One M8 was plugged in. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Just a quick question, why is the htc one m8 so hard to root? I just finished rooting it with a long and hard (lol) process that was much harder than any of my previous android phones to root. A lot of the other phones had software that I could use (3rd party) that would do the process for me!

Hi! So I am looking for a new android phone. I have done my research and narrowed my choice down to a few phones: - HTC ONE M8 ( 530€ = 599$ ) - LG G3 ( 370€ = 418$ ) - HTC ONE mini2 ( 310€ = 350$ ) - LG G3 S(mini) ( 140€ = 158$ ) I want a phone that will run smoothly when browsing the web, social media and YouTube. I also want to do some gaming on it and it would be great if it would last me more than a day doing all that stuff or at least until before I go to bed so I can charge it over night. I have chosen this phones (listed above) based on their reviews, performance and size. I would like your honest opinion on what I should buy and why. I don't want to spend more than I need to and 599$ is a lot of money to spend on a phone. If you think that there is another phone I should look at feel free to tell me wich one but keep in mind that I live in Europe so any phone that is only available in the US doesn't come into play for me. Thank you

Hello everyone! I post very little, but ask for alot of help! So it'd be really great if someone could help me out. Alright judging by the title you know what I need help with, but here's the details. I bought the Htc one M8 the day the iPhone 6 was released mainly because I wasn't happy with the results and Linus brags about his. So this is my first Android phone. One thing that I really did appreciate was NFC. Especially wireless payments. Can anyone help me setup wireless payments with my phone? I live in Canada and downloaded google wallet but it doesn't show a option to add a credit card. (By the way, I'm a complete noob to android so PLEASE give alot of detail) If anyone else needs deets comment below!

RANT!!! So interesting series of events have taken place over the last few days. I decided that I've had enough with HTC Sense 6(It's honestly not that bad) on my T-mobile HTC One M8, so I ventured down the Root and Rom path. I really wanted to install Google Play ROM so I can get Lollipop as soon as possible (drool) but in order to get that I have to have Unlocked bootloader, Root, custom recovery and S-off. All were really simple except for S-off. Tmobile's S-off was impossible to turn off until recently, while other GSM carriers had it easy! SoI tried a few different methods before stumbling on SunShine, which is an application that easily gives S-off. But it's 25 dollars to run...Now I have to spend 25 dollars to get the proper google play rom with OTA updates! FML /Rant Has anyone experienced such complications?

Hey guys, I've used an iPhone 4 since it was released it's pretty beat up by now, so I ordered an HTC one M8. I have a few questions about the transition and need a few app suggestions. 1. is rooting the device essential? 2. is there an easy way to transfer all my contacts from Iphone to HTC? 3. are there any restrictions i need to circumvent (like the WiFi range restriction on the iPhone) 4. App suggestions: What are good apps to use for/as reddit, youtube, webbrowser, wardriving app, general wifi analysis, (offroad) navigation, f.lux, fast access to menue options (like sbsettings). 5. what are your general suggestions? 6. what are good options for a case and display protection? The iPhone was my first smartphone and I had close to 0 experience with android, any comments on the transition?

Hi all, I've recently got my hands on an HTC One M8, making the switch to an Android phone from my iPhone 4S. I've got basically everything working as I want except photo syncing. I have a MacBook Pro which, for now at least, I use for all of my media storage because then I have access to all my media on the go as well as at home (otherwise I'd use my desktop, but that's a story for another time). As such I use iPhoto, a program I really like and would really like to keep using, however it doesn't play nice with anything non-apple or 'basic camera'. I didn't really expect there to be any "auto syncing" feature but I also thought this issue would be a lot easier to sort out than it has been. What I'd like to do is to be able to keep using iPhoto, but be able to sync selected albums either directly with 128GB SD card in my phone over a local network. If that isn't an option (which appears to be the case), then I'd like to be able to sync with Google Drive - again, selectively. Selectively because my iPhoto library is close to 200GB (lots of GoPro footage there) and whilst it's all backed up on hard storage I don't want to upload it to the internet - mainly because that would be my household's monthly plan all gone in one hit! (Australia FTW) Of course that also won't fit on the SD card either. I suspect that I can compress the images and videos in my library but I'd like to avoid that because I just don't want all of the clutter on my phone anyway. I know one option I do have is to copy the photos I do want to Google drive and transfer them manually through that. That's easier said than done, because I'm pretty close to my 500GB SSD's capacity and whilst I'm planning to do some major spring cleaning and filing of all that in my upcoming long summer holidays (between Year 12 and Uni) I'd prefer to have a solution that doesn't duplicate my photos on storage anyway... I'd also prefer not to have to spend money, or at least not very much. I've seen some $40+ solutions but I've also heard people say that they don't really make things as easy as they sound like they will. So, to summarise, I'm looking for a solution that will allow me to selectively sync photos on iPhoto with my HTC One M8, preferably over a local network but Google Drive is an option too. If that isn't really possible, then I'm open to suggestions of some sort of cross-platform photo management software (cross platform as in Windows, Mac, Android and maybe iOS if possible) with features similar to iPhoto that can all sync together, again preferably over a local network rather than using up all my metered internet... Thanks in advance.

First news post! There's a pretty interesting promotion rogers is running, where if you order your HTC One M8 on the national reservation system, that you can get the HTC One M8 prior to the launch date!, I'm unsure to how rogers is able to do such a promotion, which is rare for a Canadian carrier, but for those with rogers, and are planning to get the HTC One M8, I'd hop on this one pretty fast! The all new HTC One M8 is undoubtedly one of the best phones out there. One of the major features it lacks is a great camera and optical image stabilisation, both of which will be resolved in the all new HTC One M8 Prime which is sheduled to be released in September this year. To find out more awesome advancements that this phone will be having against the present HTC One M8 please refer to the following article by GSMArena. http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_one_m8_prime_purported_specifications_include_qhd_display-news-8463.php

Sorry if this is a repost as I searched the forum and didn't see anything like this amd I really want a lot of people to be aware. From the creators of Cyanogen Mod a phone they believe is the ideal Android phone to kill the Flagship bosses like the Galaxy S5, HTC ONE, Iphone 5s or Moto X etc. With it's insane specs for a ridiculoously low price I beleive this is the idea flagship killer. Check out my video on the specs and feats on the phone, Android Authority's First look and OnePlus One's Teaser in the description, just to make people aware of the phone, hope you appreciate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6aDU4aQJIlw 16GB White - $299 64GB Black - $350 Back of the phone colour can be changed to your liking in the future even with textures like wood, demin or carbon in the future. Ok guys I just wanted to put this out here. http://browser.primatelabs.com/android-benchmarks If you look at the top of the benchmarks you'll see the samsung galaxy s5 and may ask where is the HTC one m8? Why isn't it up here? Well the answer is quite a funny one, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll find the long list of Samsung and Sony phones, who in the past have been disqualified for cheating, then you'll see even further down the biggest surprise of this page, the HTC m8 has also been cheating. Has HTC switched places with Samsung? Have they became the cheats? Discussion please

So tomorrow im getting another phone. currently i have the nexus 5 and im going to miss it so but it does not offer enough memory for my music. now from research i came down to these two. I very very rarely play games i just use my phone for music, watching videos, hotspot, scrolling through the forums, shopping, and lastly i need a phone with wifi calling since my apartment is like a fallout.
