Happened to have mine die the other day so I figured I'd make a quick post on how to swap it if anyone needs to or is thinking about swapping the pump instead of ordering another complete pump block. It's pretty easy except for removing the top plate as you'll see in the terrible photos. Part needed Alphacool DC-LT2 replacement pump Tools needed PH2 Screw driver Optional Heat gun and floss or metal wire H6 Allen key Remove pump block from the CPU Not necessary to remove fill plug. Remove Alphacool Eisbaer LT cover. Stuck on with a huge piece of double sided tape. If you want to reuse it you'll need to heat it with a heat gun (preferred} and some floss or metal wire. ^^^Note residue on the cover Unscrew the 4 Phillip screws on the corners. Remove top cover. Unscrew DC-LT2 pump. Reverse for reassembly. *****Careful not to over torque and strip plastic housing!***** Hopefully this helps out someone someday!

Here is how and why people delid CPUs in a nutshell : improving performances and temps. I was thinking documenting the process would be interesting, since I re-pasted both my 13700f and my 13900; It is relatively safe to do if you follow the guidelines. I started heating the CPU with my hot air soldering station at 200c for 2 min, but if you have a heat gun it will do the job as well; Then I pulled the lid with my deliding tool and some tweezers, do not touch it with your fingers it is hot. I removed as much soldering material as I could with a razor blade, then I applied some polish until I removed everything and I removed all silicone glue Liquid metal can be tricky to apply if you are not used to, you need to apply this on both your CPU die and lid, for un-experimented modders I would recommend not to place the syringe directly on the CPU die and put some heat resistant glue on some CPU parts to protect them because liquid metal conducts electricity, you don't want to see what happens when a CPU gets short-circuited. Then I had to glue back the lid in place. I ran different tests before/after, and I got a 4c difference which is nice; Let me know if you guys are interested by some more detailed intel about this.

Hello, LTT forumers! At the moment im running a PLEX server (when i need it) from my gaming pc. As i've been studying Golang a bit lately i would like to try to "launch" a Golang web app, at least accessible on my LAN. So the idea in my head is brewing that i should reutilize my old laptop as a server just for that purpose and that exactly is where it starts to get tricky. What my soon-to-be server would need to do: - Plex - Nextcloud (probably just some pictures) - Golang apps + databases - maybe something more? Questions related to that: - Should it be a virtual machine on top of my W10 laptop? - Ubuntu server or desktop? -- Or maybe even something else? - How do i "deploy" a Golang app on my server? - Or should i buy an "old random pc"? So the idea is to have at first a sandbox server to be able to try out how things work etc, hence, should i run a VM on my W10 laptop or just go to (some form) of Ubuntu etc.. I hope you guys can direct me in a path to choose. Thanks!

Hello LTT Forum, First post here, hope you guys can welcome me to your community! I'm planning out the parts for my new build, my first build (for myself, second in total, made one a few years back for a cousin). I want to dive head in into customization, and I want to add 3 A-RGB fans, an A-RGB water block, and an A-RGB pump/res combo. The 3 fans are 2 from SilverStone and 1 from CoolerMaster, the pump/res combo, as well as the CPU block are from Alphacool. My motherboard is going to be either the Gigabyte Arorus b450i, or b550i (perhaps an x570i if I happen to find a used one at a good price). All 3 of these boards come with a single A-RGB header (at least the b boards do, not sure if the x has two, but I doubt it). What I want to know, is how can I best, and most affordably, connect those 5 A-RGB devices to my mobo's header? Can I just buy a 5 way splitter (plus any necessary adapters in terms of compatibility, which I think I don't need), and just hook them up to with with Gigabyte's RGB Fusion Software? Can the software an Mobo header differentiate between the 5 different devices, or would it just register as a single A-RGB strip of x length? I consider myself to be quite savvy in terms of computer expertise, but even if I know a bit about the current state of A-RGB/RGB devices, I just haven't had the experience, either directly or with a video, of how to make everything work together seamlessly; all while having just a single A-RGB header, as well as a limited amount of LEDs per header. Can you guys please tell my what I should do? Should I just bite the bullet and buy an A-RGB controlled, and let the PC handle them through their approximate software, or should I just go YOLO and install all daisy with the 5-way splitter strait into the mob. Thanks from a curious/anxious nerd -Scott

I'm looking for help on how to install the Syncthing app on my unRAID server. I can't seem to find any videos show me what settings I need to make or change. I have no idea what to do with the "Ports". In a situation like this where is the best place to look for answers/install help? Should I ask unRAID? Or perhaps turn to the maker of the app? Thank you!

Yesterday I discovered the magic of Windows's Desktop Remote Access, which I will use on my crappy old laptop to remote into my desktop at home, so I won't need to use the shitty macs in my school. But I was wondering, Is there a way to set a "whitelist" of devices that are allowed to remote into my desktop so that only my laptop and only my phone have access to it?

A while ago Linus did a video where he added a raspberry pi into the network to block ads. However I was wondering if this is possible to do accomplish the same thing with a DNS server adjustment on my router instead? I have done some research and there are some forums advising using the cloudflare ranges (1.1.1.1) but their documentation doesn’t state that ad blocking is included. My question is as follows, does anyone have any experience with these or any other providers and are they actually viable, or is the only real option the one highlighted in the video?

Hi, I am new here. So I'll introduce myself first, I guess. I am from Indonesia and I have been following the PC hardware community for a long time (including this forum), but recently I decided to make an account and post here. I have a question. My situation is that I am into PSUs lately. Just now I discovered that my old/secondary build, that has an i7 2700k and a GTX 960 in it, is powered by a somewhat mediocre Xigmatek Tauro 500 W PSU. Now I know it isn't a crap tier PSU and it has been running fine for ages, but considering that this thing has been running since 2012 I am a little bit worried that it will pose some threats to my safety. I am considering replacing this PSU with something better, but PSUs are extremely expensive here. The best PSU that my budget allows is the BQ 500W System Power U9. But upon deeper research I came across this used Seasonic SS-560KM (yes, it says X-650, but on the description the seller said they only have the 560 for now) for around the same price. I know that the SS-560KM is one of the best PSUs Seasonic ever made (with respect to time, that is). If I have done my research correctly, it should be miles ahead of the BQ U9. However, I am a bit hesitant on this. I have been buying second hand parts (CPUs, GPUs, RAMs) with relatively good results and Motherboards and HDDs with mixed results. I've never thought of buying a used PSU myself, but I reckon getting something that was once really strong like that Seasonic PSU shouldn't be a problem right? With that being said, if you have done this before, can you share on what experiences you had? What would be the most important questions to ask? Manufacturing date, warranty seal, what the PSU was formerly used for, anything else? Maybe you guys can light me on this. Thanks!

I've got two methods, a method which takes a link and processes it, and then another which does the main methods. Within the main, I want to grab the name of one of the variables within the first function, how do I go about this? This is my code: import requests import nltk from bs4 import BeautifulSoup import string from nltk.corpus import stopwords from collections import Counter def linkInput(): # input which will allow the end user to input a link or file location linkInput = input ("Enter the website address: ") # processes the link using the requests module (linkText variable) and then processes linkText using the .text method (savedLinkText) linkText = requests.get(linkInput) print ("The output of the HTML document looks like this: ") savedLinkText = linkText.text print(" ") def mainProcesing(): linkInput() #prints the text of the link through the savedLinkText variable. #grabs the savedLinkText variable from the linkInput() method. print(savedLinkText) #text in savedLinkText is then parsed through the BeautifulSoup html parser saved as the variable linkParsed. linkParsed = BeautifulSoup(savedLinkText, 'html.parser') #the parsed link then gets scraped for its text, without the tags in the variable parsedText parsedText = linkParsed.get_text() #extra spaces are then removed, joining the parsedText variable contents with split. strippedText = " ".join(parsedText.split()) print(strippedText) #the strippedText contents are then tokenised using the natural toolkit language module, via its tokenize method. tokenList = nltk.word_tokenize(strippedText) print(" ") print(" ") print(tokenList) #tokenised list (tokenList) is then stripped of any punctuation values such as ' , . ? or ! which may be seperate from any text values (tokenListNoPunctuation). This list is then normalised (tokenListNormalised) tokenListNoPunctuation = [''.join(c for c in s if c not in string.punctuation) for s in tokenList] tokenListNormalised = [s for s in tokenListNoPunctuation if s] print(" ") print(len(tokenListNormalised)) #stop words are then removed which are part of the english words list in stopwords.words from the nltk module in a variable named stopwordsRemoved. stopwordsRemoved = [word for word in tokenListNormalised if word not in stopwords.words('english')] print(" ") print(" ") #now the stop words are removed, the text in variable stopwordsRemoved is then tagged using the pos_tag method through the nltk module, in a variable named taggedText taggedText = nltk.pos_tag(stopwordsRemoved) print(len(taggedText)) #the following four variables (removedSingularNouns, removedProperNouns, removedProperSingularNouns, removedAllNouns) are then used to remove nouns (singular noun, proper noun, proper singular noun and proper plural nouns) #this is done in four stages, with the final list being the 'removedAllNouns'variable removedSingularNouns = [s for s in taggedText if s[1] != 'NN'] removedProperNouns = [s for s in removedSingularNouns if s[1] != 'NNP'] removedProperSingularNouns = [s for s in removedProperNouns if s[1] != 'NNS'] removedAllNouns = [s for s in removedProperSingularNouns if s[1] != 'NNPS'] print(len(removedSingularNouns)) print(len(removedProperNouns)) print(len(removedProperSingularNouns)) print(len(removedAllNouns)) #counter named wordCounter is then used using the collections module which associates a counter for each of the tagged values, and lists them from most used to least used. wordCounter = Counter(removedAllNouns) print(len(wordCounter)) print(wordCounter)

hey guys, im getting a new laptop soon (MSI gt73vr 7rf) and i always hear that i should update the drivers from websites... i never did a fresh windows installation before, i always had a friend do it for me. and it's diffrent when you're updating existing drivers rather than downloading non existent ones... so im kinda lost on what i should do. should i just go to the motherboard's website and download the drivers and simply install them? or is there a process involved?? one more question. how can i check if drivers are outdated on a PC or Laptop? thank you so much for the help.

Hello, I am very new here and I've got a burning question to ask. The question in mind being "Should I buy a used CPU with a faulty memory controller?". I have had plenty of experiences buying used hardware but I have yet to buy something which has a bad memory controller. How would a faulty memory controller affect everyday tasks, which should be my main concerns, is there anything I could do to prevent typical behaviour caused by this problem, how safe is it to actually use this CPU for somewhere in the ball park from a year to two at most. I have found this CPU on my local ebay sort of site, buy and sell used products, where I have previously bought items which have worked completely fine with no issues. The CPU in question is the 4790k, it comes with an ASUS maximus ranger vi, 16gb vengeance pro and a hyper 212 evo all for around 350usd (that's around 465cad since I see you're a Canadian site). It is clearly stated that it has a memory controller issue and that it doesn't recognize 2 ram slots, should I be really worried and stay away from it or is it fine to use with just the remaining 2 ram slots? Thanks in advance (sorry for bad englando)

If you guys know any tutorial showing how to do this please post it below, i've been trying to do it myself but unsuccessful. Example video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbPfzvq1wWU&index=29&list=PLVGT_7RQui0EUJUKxqJbeGsFlzZWCXiz7 The effect i want starts at 00:07 and end at 00:28. I searched for tutorials, but couldn't find any or maybe i searched the wrong way. He just somehow made the selected area big and then small again without making the whole thing big or small....

Hey guys, not sure if this is on the right sub forum, hope so. I want to start game servers for things like ark, arma 2, arma 3 etc. But I want to have payed services on a forum for the servers such (x) number of dollars for (x) number of building supplies, or spawning with loot etc. What is a good way of going about this and would this require individual knowledge of coding for each game. I truly don't know where to start. Thanks for any help
