I need a monitor for gaming and one for video editing. What would be the best combo for around $600? I started doing video editing professionally just recently and my 5 yo cheapo samsung monitor just isn't enough anymore. I'd prefer a 21:9 screen for editing, but if it's not in the budget I'm fine with 16:9. For gaming it really doesn't matter, anything around 120-144hz would do. I'm don't really know what makes an editing monitor good beside "color accuracy". I'd really appreciate your help!

I fount two laptops that i finally could afford but one has a high refresh rate monitor but a gtx 1650 and the other has a gtx 1660Ti but a 60hz screen . All i want to do is game and i know that both processors are similar in performance although one is 6cores and the other is 8 but that wouldn't effect the gaming performance of them anyway.

Hello there! I'm currently in the market to purchase an external monitor for my laptop, and I'm quite stuck on where to start. As stated in the title, I'm trying to look for a high refresh rate, 1440p monitor with good color accuracy, and my intended use with this monitor is to do some casual gaming and light/ moderate video editing. I thought 1440p and high refresh rate would be a good sweet spot because I believe the pixel density is tight enough to give good video quality, but that it isn't too much for my laptop to handle. Plus, since I'm just editing videos for myself, I'd at least like to go one step above 1440p. Some things to note: First, my laptop specs: Dell XPS 17 9700 i9-10885H (8 cores, 16 threads, boosts to 5.3 GHz) NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q (6 GB video memory) 32 GB Memory (2933 MHz) 1 TB SSD 1920*1200p, 60 Hz internal display I've heard that I wouldn't be able to get full benefits running of using a high-refresh rate 1440p monitor while playing games because I only have a 2060 Max-Q (and, well, because all my other components are laptop-grade), though most of the games I play aren't too demanding i.e. ... Minecraft Batman Arkham-series (2009-2015) Forza Horizon 5 Resident Evil Village Plus, I suspect I'll be purchasing a new laptop within the next couple years, and by then I predict it'll definitely be able to handle 1440p, high refresh rate gaming. i.e., I plan to keep the monitor for a couple years I've posted about external monitors for my laptop a couple times on LTT forums, though each time I found myself too busy to actually go buy the monitor. Now, though, I feel I finally have some time to buy a monitor and properly invest into some research and opinions. I should also mention that in my past postings, people have recommended me LG Ultragear monitors. I've been very tempted to hit the trigger on these monitors, though I'm not so sure if it's 98% DCI-P3 color accuracy will satisfy my wants for video editing. On top of this, I don't believe these monitors are necessarily bright, since they come in at only 350 nits peak brightness (at least, for the ones I've seen). My laptop's internal display has a 500 nit peak brightness, and when my room gets bright, it can, at times, be a slightly dim. Though, I'm not so sure if this wouldn't make much of a difference considering an external monitor will be noticeably bigger, so if someone could clarify this for me, too, that'd be great. Otherwise, please let me know what monitor you folks would recommend me, given my laptop's specs and my needs. Should I pull the trigger on the LG Ultragear monitors, or should I choose something else?

I'm looking for a monitor that will be mostly used for gaming / work. Currently I have a very cheap 144Hz 27" 1080p monitor and I'm all around not happy with it at all, so now that I have some money to spare I am looking for a replacement. I would like another 27" monitor so I can use the old one as secondary one and because that way I can have the monitor further away from me and at that size 1080p just does not look nice anymore. Since I like to play competitive games (Rocket League, R6:Siege, Valorant..) I cannot live without my high refresh rate anymore, but I don't really care if its 120Hz, 144Hz or 160Hz, G-Sync Compatible would also be great. Lastly the monitor should also have good color accuracy and contrast (HDR?) for the visually appealing Games and Movies. So bottom line it should be somewhat of an allrounder for around 300-450€ but I'm willing to spend more if it checks all my boxes. So far I've had my eye on a couple of monitors, all come with their downsides: LG 27GN800-B -I can live without the "gamery" Design but its not a dealbreaker, I've read very different things about the contrast from one review (sample) to the other, BenQ EX2780q -Basic stand, Can't find anything about G-Sync compatibility ViewSonic XG2705-2K -no HDR, no reference to G-Sync Viewsonic XG270 - A bit more pricey but seems to check all my boxes Which ones of these (or any other) would you reccomend for my needs Thank you in Advance Kind Regards Minaj

Hello all, I am having a bit of trouble with my displays. I have two Scepter M25s and an RTX 3060Ti, but my GPU only has 1 HDMI output. In the past I have run both displays off of DP, but with DP my monitors decided to randomly go black before popping back to life. They repeatedly would do this until I unplugged the DP cable from the monitor and plugged it back in. Everything at that point would usually work fine for a day or two or until I restarted my machine. This frustrated the crap out of me so I switched one monitor to HDMI and have the other is connected to HDMI via a DP to HDMI adaptor: no issues with blacking out. This brings me to my problem. My monitor that is connected via the converter is limited to 60Hz when I know the cable and monitor both support 1080p at 144Hz on HDMI. What can I do to run my second display at a full 144Hz? I think I need a better adaptor, but many do not say what refresh rates they support on the box or in marketing materials, and its not as simple as looking for the spec of the cable. Can someone pleas provide me some recommendations on adaptors or teach me how to identify the product I need? Thanks in advance, Tim

Hello there, I’m in the market for an ultra-wide 1440p monitor for my college dorm. I’m an Engineering student, so I have a powerful laptop (Dell XPS 17) that can handle a 1440p monitor, and I’d like to purchase an ultra wide so I can have multiple applications open when I work, and to have a premium gaming experience when I have some free time. I’d say my budget for a monitor is somewhere in the $650-$800 range, though don’t be afraid to show anything above the price range if nothing in this price range fits my wants/ desires. I also plan to get an eGPU so that I can play AAA games like Resident Evil 8 and Doom Eternal with Ray-Tracing settings at over 60 FPS at 1440p, or at 1080p high and over 100 FPS. Considering this, I’d also like a monitor with a pixel response time lower than 3 ms, though preferably around the 1 ms range. So far I’ve seen a couple monitors from LG that might suit my wants, though they don’t seem to be too bright, and honestly I’d like a monitor that outputs at least 400 nits of brightness, though preferably over 500 considering the display on my XPS 17 already outputs 500 nits. Back to color accuracy, I won’t be doing an professional editing, but knowing that I’ll be utilizing some Engineering softwares, I’ll want a display that’s decently color accurate. However, I would also like the monitor to have good contrast and black uniformity so I can, again, have a good viewing experience. If you folks here at LTT forums can help me out with this, it would be greatly appreciated!

So for a little while now I've noticed a couple problems on my Samsung 1440p 144hz monitor. First of all it will only let me set my refresh rate at 120hz (not really a big issue because my GPU cant really spit out that many frames at 1440p anyway) but more importantly low fps feels horrible, like 30fps will feel like 15 and 60fps will feel like 30. Changing to 1080p or 60hz makes no difference. I thought it was just my imagination but I put my old MSI monitor (right, 1080p 120hz) up next to, recorded it in slow motion on my phone, and noticed the main Samsung monitor (left) took noticeably longer to display the full frame! The MSI also feels much much smoother at the same framerate. Has anyone else had a similar issue? This is seriously annoying! Specs: R7 3800x @4.4ghz 16gb 3200mhz Samsung 500gb m.2 ssd GTX 1080 STRIX Monitors: (Both are running DP 1.2) Main (left) Samsung 1440p 144hz (dont remember the exact model but 100% sure it should do 1440p 144hz) Extra (right) MSI 1080P 144hz (set to 120hz, also not sure about the model) Additional Info: Yes I know I'm playing BOTW in the clip but it is running on an emulator locked at 30fps, also this problem happens in every game at any framerate not just in the emulator. Video ends on each side when the monitor stopped adjusting the frame (Samsung took almost twice as long) The main (Samsung) monitor was a refurbished monitor if that makes any difference) The Samsung monitor supports the weird freesync/gsync thing, turning on gsync makes no difference at all Sorry about the crappy video quality as well Any help would be appreciated!, If you have any questions let me know samsung.mp4

I currently have a single 27" 1080p ips 60hz Acer monitor. I am gonna be working from home and need more screen real estate and was considering getting another 27" monitor but 144hz or a 21:9 aspect ratio. LG Ultra Wide from PC Part Picker I found this LG monitor which is IPS and while it's not 144hz, 75hz is technically better than 60hz. Acer 27" 144hz This one one is only about $40 less than the ultra wide and I'm torn between which would be better. I play games like BF V and WoW or hearthstone. I'm just so torn!

I'm looking into buying the ASUS TUF A15 and i'm confused on whether i should get a 1660ti with 144hz display or a 2060 with a 60 hz display as theyre both almost the same price and i cant afford the 2060 144hz. I do play competetive games and eye candy games so I'm not really sure which one I wanna go for. Does 144hz really make that big of a difference? I know the 2060 is about 15-20% better in games, but I dont know where I could place the refresh rate upgrade in comparison

Resolution: 1080p or 1440p (I would much prefer the latter) Size: Nothing over 22" 1080p or 30" 1440p (I want acceptable pixel density) Input: HDMI is preferred, I can deal with Display Port. Refresh rate: 100Hz+ for 1440p or 144Hz+ for 1080p (though 120Hz would be okay if it were 21:9) Budget: $300-$350 CAD (I know that's not much, but we don't all pick our passions/interests in light of out financial situation) I currently have a 1080p 60Hz monitor (running it at 65Hz) and while it's a lot batter than what came before, I think I'm ready to upgrade to something nicer. High refresh rate caught my eye as I mostly play Minecraft and even my pinner GPU can push out 100+ FPS easily; it would be nice to take advantage of that. (I also want to upgrade said GPU at some point.)

Well, I'm looking for a phone not for right now, but idnk in like a year I want some specific features on my phone which I found mostly in this 2 phones if you find another one with the same I would appreciate it if you would send me. XPERIA 5 ll and ZENFONE 7 PRO were the closest to my needs after months of searching, but still not sure if they are really good enough for the price I say this because the Xperia has literally all I need but its a oled idnk if the screen still burns if kept on the same image for a really long time like movies with a logo or something and I'm not sure about the camera setup its triple 12mp it is sony but I really would like another opinion. The features I NEED to have: 802.11ac High Refresh Rate 90/+ Minimum Battery 4000 Mah Good / Great camera Quality Video and Photo Dolby Atmos SD expansion 512gb or + Bluetooth 5.0/5.1 Really want as well: I really would like 3.5 Jack cause im looking at gettings some "semi-audiophile" headphones for daily great/amazing music experience. Really want IP rating Add-Ons: NFC 4K 120fps video recording Android 11

Considering getting a 360/390hz monitor to upgrade from my 144hz one. Do you think the change is noticeable or no? I have a R7 5800X for my CPU. I play overwatch mostly and I know the game is limited to 300fps so maybe it's even less noticeable? I don't rly care about resolution as my current monitor is 144hz 1440p.

I recently bought a MAG274QRF-QD (when it was 389,99, now it’s 407,95) for my gaming pc and it came with a black spot almost in the middle of the screen and two dead pixels. I sent it back and requested a refund and now I am planning to either buy another one and leave it to fate in order to receive a good one or buy one of these alternatives: I also considered the Dell SD2721DGF, but ruled it out because of no sRGB while being a wide gamut monitor (that in turn causes over-saturation which I don’t like). I’ve been doing some research and it seems that the LG has the worst contrast ratio out of all the three and the XG27AQ seems to suffer from a high 30ms input lag while gaming on 60hz. According to Rtings it has been fixed by updating the Hardware abstraction layer through Armory Crate (not a fan of), and I don’t even know if that fix even applies to console gaming which I do some from time to time since I have a ps5 and not all games have 120hz support. And finally the MAG274QRF-QD which suffers from qc issues (there are a lot of comments about it either on Amazon or through Reddit, it’s not just me that was unlucky). The choice can seem easy due to close prices but the thing is I am buying the monitor from amazon and importing it to my country which has absurdly high import taxes (in the end costing me almost double the price of the monitor), a price difference of 20 - 30 is more like a 50-60 dollar price difference and with the amount I’m already paying extra it’s starting to look like a small but impactful difference between the three. I didn’t know buying a monitor could be such a chore, especially since every single monitor has a defect, either from a con in the specs or a defect. Not only the msi came to me with dead pixels but the 144hz 1080p viewsonic monitor I had before it too came with dead pixels, which I had to change three times and I still ended up with a unit with 1 dead pixel What are your thoughts and recommendations? P.D: My pc has an i7 9700k and 3060 ti and that’s why I’m looking at these 1440p panels. I can’t find any 1440p high refresh rate monitors in my country since the market is very small and prices are so high nobody wants to sell them. They only sell 1080p screens.

So I'm looking for monitor with a refresh rate of at least 120hz and size of at least 24inches in size| A res above 1080p is not a requirement and normal form factor is preferred 16:9 or even 16:10 No ultra wide's My primary use will be gaming and other regular use I currently have an ips panel LG display and I really like it.I've seen friends with VA/TN panels and what not and the color on them is just bad tbh My budget is 17k Rs or for others about 200 usd response bellow 3ms i don't require any usb io or audio jacks (only use HDMI or dp) or any inbuilt speakers. I would really like to hear people's personal experience with said monitors and not just ppl blabbing on about specs Cuz yes I have done my research and I have shortlisted good Lg ultra gear/Samsung neo or G series/MSI Optix/Benq Mobiuz monitor.

Which one is best for a mix of casual gaming and 3D modeling ? It would be helpful if you guys can list some pros and cons. I'm running an i7 6700k with a GTX 1070. > https://www.asus.com/Monitors/TUF-GAMING-VG27WQ/specifications/ > https://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/UM.HV1AA.P01

So this question has been asked and answered like a hundred times (but here goes the 101st)... I'm currently saving money for a new display and since I don't purchase displays very often I wanna make sure it's worth it. The dilemma is between a 3440x1440 100 Hz Ultrawide display like the ASUS Pg348q or a 1440p 144 Hz (I'll make sure to buy a good model if the scale tips over to 144 Hz display vs Ultrawide). Money is not a problem since I've been saving for quite a while now. I mainly use my PC for gaming, watching series and movies (not from Netflix) and let's say 25% productivity (MS Word, Excel, stuff like that). Which one is it and why would you choose one over the other? Thanks a lot in advance.

I've been looking for a new monitor to replace one that I sold to a friend. I was interested in 144Hz 1440p monitors but the majority of good ones are $500-$800 which is above my price range, so I decided to look at 144Hz 1080p instead. I really wanted to find a 23"-25" 120Hz or 144Hz IPS 1080p display, but I'm pretty sure that doesn't exist after scouring pcpartpicker, the rest of the internet, and the LTT forums alike. So my question is, what're some of the better high refresh rate 1080p monitors out there that have really solid panels even if they're not IPS?

So I have a 1080 Ti and I'm running on 1080p 60hz monitor. I'm planning to get 1440p monitor, so I'd like to ask a few questions. Do all high refresh rate monitors have adjustable refresh rates(144hz, 120hz, 60hz)? How noticeable is dropping below 144hz compared to dropping below 60hz and does g sync really make it that much better? And which monitor would you reccomend, I really don't know too much about this topic.
-
So I live in Argentina, a land where hardware prices (and prices in general) are through the roof when compared to Amazon.com for example. I've been saving for a new monitor for quite a while and since there aren't many available to begin with (or if they are, you have to fork out a ton of money to buy them), the decision has come down to only 2 enticing options and I'm counting on you to help me decide: ASUS PG279Q vs. LG 34UC98-W (I left out the PG348Q cause it's a lot more expensive than the 16:9 27" counterpart). I should also mention that I'm a bit of a gamer, but don't play FPS games that often since adventure, survival horror and exploring type of games are more of my thing. The way I see it, one has an insanely high refresh rate and boasts G-Sync and 1440p for a great gaming experience and movie watching, but you need a 1080 or 1080 Ti to really drive the monitor, making it more expensive overall if you want to enjoy the specs to its full potential. The other one only has 75 Hz of refresh rate, but it's 3440x1440, has an incredible color gamut and is a 34" curved ultrawide which kinda tickles my fancy as Jay would say, so it would be better for productivity and just looking extra cool on my desk. I would also save some cash on the GPU purchase since it wouldn't be as demanding to run (but since it has FreeSync I'm left out of the Nvidia upgrade cycle for future graphics card generations altoghether and risk having screen tearing). I've never had much experience with any of the specs (ultrawide format or high refresh rate) so all feedback and opinions are welcomed.

I'm about to buy a new high refresh rate 1440p, but I'm not sure if I should sprnd the extra $200 on G-sync as I've never used a gsync monitor before and don't have anything to compare it to. I also don't know if I should get an IPS panel or TN...

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my monitor to a 240hz and I can't find which one to go for. The 4 monitor I have in mind are these one : 1 - Aorus KD25F with the newest TN Panel 0.5ms vs 1ms all the other one 2 - BenQ XL2546 or XL2540, they are the same anyway 3 - Asus PG258Q or the XG248Q as the PG258Q is not available at newegg.ca(I got a gift card of 500$ for newegg.ca) 4 - Acer Predator XB252Q - Great looking and popular for any gaming streamer I'm not looking for something higher than 1080p, but I'm looking forward to something with 240hz. I got a i7-8700k OC at 5.3 and a GTX 1080ti Asus Strix OC, so I should not have a problem with the power. Let me know your review and if someone had the hand on a Aorus KD25F monitor, cause they have the new TN panel and I want to know if it's that much of a big deal. Linus did not review it yet and I'm not sure he will review it. Thanks y'all !

So I'm looking at getting an ultrawide and just need some advice on whats best to get. My main focus is high refresh rate, 1080p is fine, 1440p would be nice but not important. I also want the monitor to fit neatly next to my existing 24 inch 16:9 monitors as they're on a 1x3 multi-monitor stand. What would you guys recommend?
