Can anyone share the current helium health status of their 5 years (and older) Helium Drives? I googled the average Helium life of the new drives and it said roughly '5 Years'. I want to know the 'real-life' status. Thanks.

I saw an ad for this compact and portable gaming pc from a company I've never heard of. And after a quick online search, apparently nobody else has either. The only video about it on YouTube is of an actor talking about its features in front of a green screen, and search results come up with chemistry pages on helium or mercury, or a game called Helium. Hi peeps! Since I put my HNT miner on top of my block and connected it with a LAN cable my router seems to have been going through a rough time of constantly going on and off and losing signal, which is why I am looking for a new router. Can you guys help me and recommend me one. I'm looking for one thats in the range of €50/$52 with 4 LAN ports that also has a great WiFi speed so my family can use it flawlessly. So we do on set dailies and we already had some 8K weapon shoots to handle and it was always a big struggle especially when the client requested full debayer on set. Most of the time its 8K full debayer to 1080p ProResLT or DnxHD, with our main rig (8core xeon and dual 980ti) we see around 5fps max when transcoding. (in resolve and redCineX) Last shoot we rented HP Z840 systems with dual 12 core xeons and dual quadro cards and we got around 30fps on each machine. RedRocket X card did actually make everything slower. So now I was wondering, how did the Z840 manage 30fps and our rig bottoms out 5. The 24 cores are obviously better than our 8 core machine but not by that big of a margin. Maybe its the quadros? I would really like to see some guys with crazy rigs to do a little benchmark and post the results here, that would really help us out in deciding what to buy next. That would also be a great project for Linus as he has 8K reds and the hardware to test it. So if you want get some 8K weapon footage run it through redcineX or resolve at full debayer and let it render some 1080p proresLT or DnxHD120 and post the results , lets see who has the fastest ;-) In the end we would love to break the 60fps "barrier", and we are even willing to go all out quad CPU for this.

I know this isn't exactly XDA forums or something, but I'm pretty desperate for help. I'm trying to backup app data from a Galaxy S6 to my new S7. I'm using Helium and backing up seems all fine, I drag the carbon folder to my S7 and when I try to restore the files on my S7, it always pops an error at about 76%, no matter what the application. I've tried to do it over the computer, through the server thing, but it always tells me the file is invalid even though it shouldn't be. Need some help please!

I need to use baloons to carry some small stuff up to a window, not heavy stuff, flowers n choclates n shit. how do i know how much helium(inside a baloon though, so i have to add the weight of each baloon) i need to make something that weighs a certain amount float?

HGST, a wholly owned subsidiary of Western Digital, first announced its helium-filled hard disk drives in 2013 and started their shipments in 2014. Such drives have a number of advantages compared to traditional HDDs, but they still have not gained popularity because both WD and Seagate produce hard drives with comparable capacity that are not sealed. However, this year a lot may change. At present HGST offers Ultrastar He hard drives with 6TB and 8TB capacities for applications that require maximum storage density and relatively high performance. Such HDDs compete with HGST’s Ultrastar 6TB hard drives, WD’s Ae 6.3TB HDDs as well as Seagate’s Enterprise Capacity, Enterprise NAS and Archive hard disk products with 5TB – 8TB capacities. While the Ultrastar He products have some advantages compared to rival products, they are still not radically better than competitors, which is a reason of their relatively low popularity. In the coming months HGST plans to release 10TB UltraStar HelioSeal hard drive that will offer a massive capacity advantage over all existing solutions. The drive is based on seven 1.43TB SMR [shingled magnetic recording] platters and is filed with helium. While Seagate also plans to introduce its 10TB HDD this year (based on six 1.66TB SMR platters), the company will likely do that only in late 2015, which means that the Ultrastar He 10TB will have a significant time-to-market advantage. The release of the 10TB helium-filled drive as well as the ramp of 8TB product will help the drives to gain market share because so far the adoption of such HDDs has been slow. “Helium, as an individual category, particularly as it relates to 6TB drive, probably did not have a material impact [on our business],” said Steve Milligan, chief executive officer and president of Western Digital, during a recent conference call with investors and financial analysts. “We believe that as we transition to the 8TB platform with the helium product, we will begin to see a bit of a larger impact.” Mike Cordano, the president of HGST, also believes that the use of helium-filled hard drives will increase this year. The company HGST announced they will be releasing 10TB helium filled hard drives. They are due for release next month but no price was mentioned. Some specifications of the drive: - 128 MB of cache - two million hour meantime between failure (MTBF) rating - Instant Secure Erase features - five-year warranty The hard drive will "use shingled magnetic recording (SMR) technology to offer even platters with 1.43TB of storage capacity on each of them" I personally think that while this is a huge thing for hard drives to be helium filled and be well, 10tb, It is not to appealing as It will most likely not be a consumer grade product and will most likely end up costing a huge amount of money. HGST did also say something about releasing other 10tb drives, maybe on that is a bit more appealing to a average consumer if it isnt helium filled, But since right now a 8tb seagate drive cost around $350 I can only predict that a 10tb one will be in the $400-500 range with the helium ones costing even more.
