Hej, so i recently got a hd 7970 and i have been throwing my head at it trying to get it to work properly. About a hour ago, i got it to void with the drivers installed, run msi afterburner and saw it said R9 200 / HD 7900 series. Got a pic of it to prove to a friend that it actually worked. But it didn't show me the clocks or anything just the series... A little after the picture taken. The screen went black and the card started screaming like it was mining crypto or something on full blast cooling. After that the pc automatically rebooted and it showed me how windows was loading, but after it had loaded and was supposed to show me the login screen it went black, screamed and rebooted. And it did that for about 10 more times when i finally gave up and decided to power the pc down.

Sup Boys, As many of you aware, millions of people are heading into PUBG scratching their heads about their rigs and the capabilities of their hardware. Up to now, I haven't even remotely felt that my rig was under powered, as what only feels like a short time ago, I was happily running the gorgeous graphics of the Witcher 3. To repeat the title I have the following: Windows 10 (Updated frequently) running 1080p AMD FX-8150 Eight-Core Processor GA-970A-DS3 Motherboard ASUS HD 7950 DirectCU II Graphics Card 16GB Ripjaw Ram While I'm aware the optimisation of PUBG is lacking, to say the least, my graphics card and processor seem to only manage a measly 25 fps with frequent dips to around 15 or less! I'm happy to pay more money to upgrade the card if it's miles below par, in terms of what people are using now, but I'd love to know if it could be some other factors, i.e. set-up etc. I haven't yet delved into 'overclocking' these, as I really haven't felt the need. If anyone who is able to give me some cursory advice as to whether these frame rates are reasonable considering their age, or whether it could be something else, I'd greatly appreciate it. Even if the answer is simple, only top-dog PCs can run above 30fps with this game, chill, even that confirmation would be appreciated. I just can't imagine 4 million people having significantly better rigs than mine (not that mine is that amazing) happily playing with much higher framerates. Am I missing anything? Is this worth answering? Are these reasonable questions? TL;DR waah,

Hi together, I searched on google but didn't find an answer. I have an Sapphire HD7970 and want to connect 4 Monitors. The Card has 1 DP 1 HDMI and 2 DVI. As AMD need monitors to be connected through DP for more than 2 monitors, is there any way to connect this setup? Thank you! Florian

Can We make a Desktop run hotter than a Apple laptop?
Eric Kazer posted a topic in Hobby Electronics
For the start, Rosewill FBM-01 case Very small. Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H Motherboard MSI HD 7970 GPU 2 Optical drives to reduce space in the case HX 850 PSU if it will fit 4GB DDR2 800 MHz RAM Windows XP because of heavy system resource use and inefficiency Case size 13.78" Hight, 6.89 Wide, 13.86" Deep Will try to cram a HD7970, HX 850, AMD 1090t CPU with a small aluminum heat sink, and 2 optical drives to see how hot it can get. It will make a good space heater if it does not catch fire. I would use FX, but they are all in use still. I will post after I have fun building the stupidest thing I can come up with. Just building it for pun and fun. Trying to have the shittyest ventalation possible. Really trying to build on current case offerings. Should be interesting. Lets see how stupid this can be. Again, Just for Pun and Fun. -
The Initial Launcher opens. I'll click on run. Then I get the error. I have a E8500, HD 7970, 4GB @ 1333MHZ with a 32bit version of Windows XP service pack 3. I installed it off of the GOG offline installer that I used Windows 10 to download. That was a 64bit version. Quake The offering works that I also got off of GOG in a offline installer. Does anyone have a solution?

Hi friends. So I RMA'd my VS650 and now I need a new PSU. My absolute limit for the price is 80 Euro's. I know basically nothing about power supplies. Here I have a link to a list of options on Tweakers: https://tweakers.net/gallery/858655/inventaris/ If you have any other suggestions I would love to hear them. I live in the Netherlands so that's something to know. My specs are an XFX 7970 GHZ edition (1x 6pin and 1x 8pin pcie connectors), a Ryzen 5 1600, an Asus Prime B350 Plus motherboard (8 pin EPS dor the CPU), 8GB 2133 DDR4 and 3 SATA HDDs and I'm probably going to add a SATA SSD soon, I hope this will all help you help me choose my PSU Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Trying to use Vega FE and an HD7970 for some Boinc Projects but I can't find a way to use Wattman on the FE (Which needs it) and have the 7970 show up as anything other than a display adapter. The dual driver is installed and in gaming mode everything works fine for the FE. If i install the standard Radeon Pro driver(non gaming) the FE shows up and the 7970 shows up, but no Wattman. Is there another GPU tuning program that will work for both cards? Is there a way to make Wattman recognize the 7970? Thanks!

Hey guys, so i was updating my rig with a 2nd Sapphire HD7970 ghz and i was sure everything was fitting and fine but then BOOM the standart cooler is just to big both cards dont fit together...so now i was thinking about getting a cooler which would be a little flatter but since the card is kinda old and height is not really a thing you find in german computer store when looking for coolers I am kinda lost... I was thinking about the NZXT or the Corsair CPU watercooler to GPU thing but i dont know if its really going to be much smaller. I hope somebody has an idea for any kind of cooler that would fit. My speccs are: Intel I5 3570k with Scythe Grand Karma Cross II 16gb Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz Corsair RM850i Asrock z77 Extreme 4-M (yeah might've slacked on the "M" version but Asrock stated both version have the same PCI-E layout) and 2x Sapphire HD7970 ghz Vapor X I hope someone has a solution i was really hoping to run a kinda old school Xfire build. Thanks in advance! ;D

after all of these years, I have finally decided to go triple monitors. Currently using 3 Asus VS247-H (23.6"). The connections on these monitors are vga, hdmi and dvi. I am trying to get my eyefinity setup, but alas, only two monitors are actually being illuminated, and the display settings look like this* (pic below). i was told I have to use an active adapter, but it won't extend the display to the third monitor because my HD7970 does not support eyefinity. Is this true? All suggestions welcomed, before i spend unnecessary money lol.

Hello, so i own a sapphire dual-x hd7970. I was so desperate to undervolt it without afterburner because i run multiple operating systems. Stock bios never worked properly with vbe7 editor. So i downloaded a newest sapphire hd 7970 vapor-x bios i modified that and flashed it. Vuala the card is undervolted and runs cooler now and the bios added a memory voltage control support. It seems stable. Btw i checked vrm and memory support beforehand and it matched. I even searched for pcb photos and they looked same. Do you guys think that the only ddifference between these cards is just a different cooler? And is it safe to run it like this in a long term ?

Recently my computer encountered some kind of a glitch. I was rendering a video and left the computer for 5 mins, when i came back the screen was black so i clicked enter, moved my mouse etc. i also checked the cables but they were all connected firmly. I restarted the computer in spite that it will fix itself but the screen was still black so i put the cable into the MB and not in the gfx, and the screen popped but i was running on the internal gpu with no sign of my HD7970. Turned off the PC, reset cmos and switch to the 2nd bios on the gfx, connected everything and the screen worked. What i noticed while my computer was on my desk, that the 2nd fan doesn't work until ~75% fan speed, when it reaches that % it automatically turns on and with full speed. Now im wondering is it something to do with the 2nd bios? Should i take my GFX to my retailer with warranty or is it a driver problem?

I have a question regarding my GPU. I have an HD 7970 from XFX, problem on it was, after attaching a second monitor with DVI they both went black and since then never worked with Digital, no HDMI Signal, no DVI Signal, only way I get a signal is trough a VGA-DVI Adapter, although that way I can´t get the EDID Data from my monitor, I have to adjust the resolution and Hz myself. So I tried in safe mode, cmos reset, driver reinstallation, deactivated the onboard graphics, and more, it won´t work with any digital signal for some reason, I know it worked perfectly fine before on HDMI and DVI by a friend who preowned the card, and it was working in the beginning, so what else could I try? My old HD 7850 works on DVI/HDMI with my system. Also I tested on 4 different monitors. My System: FX 6300 OC´d to 4,1 Ghz Biostar A960G+ HD 7970 XFX 12 GB RAM Crucial 1600 Mhz 5 HDDs total of 7 TB PSU 630 W Thermaltake Thanks!

So, I am planning on watercooling my GPUs (HD7970 and a R9 280X) and I am curious as to whether or not I should get a second 360mm radiator to give it adequate cooling for them. I'm swapping out my Corsair 300R for a NZXT H440 to fit the extra rads. Any suggestions are welcome! I'm clearly a retard. XFire.

Hi, There's this schoolmate of mine who is selling a Sapphire HD7970 3GB video card for about 220 USD (I'm not from the US so I just converted it). This costs about 435 USD brand new in our country. He said that it was only slightly used for about a month only. His reason for selling is to buy books for programming and math. Looks like a good deal to me. Do you guys have any guidelines in buying used video cards? What do I need to know before I consider getting it? Thanks! Hope this is the right section for this lol.

I`m building a new pc at the moment, but I still have my doubts about my GPU. I honestly have no affection to AMD or Nvidia, just neutral with both. I narrowed my choice down to or a MSI/ASUS, GTX 680 or HD7970. While doing my research on parts (been on a two high end laptop for last 5 years) I got excited about the ASUS Matrix P HD7970 but got my doubts about leaving Nvidia. So my specific question I would like to have an answer to is: Are Nvidia`s extra features like e.g Physx a true reason to NOT buy AMD, or won`t I miss out on anything? Thank you for your effort on helping me solve this! :)

Hi there I recently found one of my old monitors and I wanted to hook it up to my system just to have a little extra room for windows. The monitor in question is a Hyundai L72S, I think it was released in 2007 and it has 1 VGA input. I had a vga to DVI-I sitting around so I hooked it up to my hd7970 and started my system up. Here is where things get weird, when I booted my system up the monitor worked and displayed the starting windows screen (exactly the same as my main monitor). But as soon as it got past the screen it just said "VIDEO MODE NOT SUPPORTED" and no matter how much I fiddled with it in control panel I can't get it to work. Does anyone have any ideas as to why it's doing this?
