Hey guys, So when i connect my monitor to my gpu i can play for like 20mins and then it will crash and the black screen appears. Sometimes the fans on the gpu go crazy and sometimea is just a black screen and i mus force shutdown my pc. But when i plug my monitor in my motherboard i don't have this problem. Why is this happening? BTW i have an older monitor so i am using vga to hdmi converter to connect monitor to gpu. GPU is amd radeon r9 290 sapphire tri x 4gb It mainly occurs when playing CS GO while entering in smoke bombs. I have cleaned the gpu replaced thermal paste and got a new PSU 650W. But it did not resolved the problem. HELP PLEASE!!!

3090 does not want to go past 150-170watts. Will spike up to 200-250 watts upon initial start up of any program and then quickly reduce core clock to lower lower wattage back to 150-170. I'm honestly stumped..... I am experiencing what seems to be either hardware or driver related issues with my pc while gaming. Before I get into it, here are my specs: -Ryzen 5 1600af overclocked to 4.1ghz -EVGA rtx 2080 super XC ultra (latest drivers,) (2100mhz core clock, 8200mhz memory) -16gb (2x8gb) Corsair vengeance memory at 3200mhz XMP profile - Aorus B450 pro wifi motherboard (Bios ver. 61) -750w 80+ bronze EVGA power supply BR series -Resolution is 2560x1440 at 144hz on a viewsonic monitor Recently, my FPS has been down from an average of about 260-300, to between 90 and 130 in my primary game; Rainbow Six Siege. The game has been stuttering, and full on rubber banding at times with the icon even coming on to tell me that I am not rendering enough frames to take advantage of my 144hz monitor. My temps on GPU are between 45-55 degrees and CPU temps are between 55-65 degrees Celsius while gaming. The CPU usage never goes past 60-70%, and GPU usage never hits 65-70%. Memory usage is 6.7-7.0 GB out of 16 GB. All drivers are up to date, and as far as I know I have no fps limiters, or any software dragging my performance down. All NVIDIA control panel and windows power settings are set to high performance, and in game settings are only using 4.4gb out of 8gb of vram. I have seen both success and failure with using Razer Cortex system booster software, which helps some days, or does nothing on others. Last night was by far the worst gaming experience I’ve had though and nothing I tried to do seemed to help. If more info is needed such as benchmarks, screenshots, etc. I can tag those files at a later date. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hello, I'm having an issue with the top 1/4 of my displays (I'm running a dual monitor setup[144hz and 240hz]) flickering black periodically as seen in the 5 second video on this thread ( ) After changing my Nvidia panel GPU performance global settings to maximum performance, as suggested on this thread, the flickering became much less frequent, but it still occasionally happens. Would anyone happen to know what could be causing this problem? I recently had a new rig built (ryzen 5600x, 32gb 3600mhz ram, 750w psu, and a b550 tomahawk motherboard) and swapped in my 2070super from my previous build (intel 7700k, 16gb 2133mhz ram), and then this flickering started. It was not flickering on my previous system. Is this a potential issue between the cpu and display driver compatibility? Any insight would be appreciated.

so i got a free gaming laptop from my brother. it's an acer predator helios 300 with an i7 8770hq and a gtx 1060. he said it blew out smoke and turned off. upon further inspection, it appears to be one of the gpu power inductors, that has blown. can someone please help me out? i don't know if it took anything else out with it, and i havent powered up the laptop since. is there a way to cut the power to the gpu entirely, and just use integrated graphics? also i'm comfortable with soldering.

Currently my 2060 super (founders edition) is having an issue were the fans randomly ramp up to 100% for a while and then creeps up and down to 100%. The computer is 100% functional. I can play games without any issues, temperature readings are normal but changing the GPU ramps or fan speeds on AfterBurner or GPU Tweak 3 changes nothing. (Idk if this is normal but GPU Tweak 3 shows the fan speeds at 41% only for the 1st fan and not the second). The only thing that seems to fix the issue is turning on the computer is safe mode or uninstalling the drivers with DDU but as soon as I update it the fans go back to 100%. This is the second time it happens and the first time it was fixed just by updating the driver. I've been up-to-date with the drivers since the 516.94 update was released in august and the issue just started happening today. Any help is highly appreciated. a

So last year i bought an rx6700xt, and with it a whole new desktop, but after putting the rig togheter there was way more crashes in games ike CP2077, Elden Ring, RDR2 and with every crash there's a system message that says application X was blocked from accessing graphics hardware. I've tried to find the issue but to no avail so now im desprate and need actual help and not some sort of 5 minute guide on youtube on how to fix it. The fixes i've done are as follows: set TdrDelay and TdrDdiDelay Updated and redownloaded (DDU) drivers, more times than i care to recall. Tested if XMP boost was the issue. Set PCIE to gen 3 instead of auto. Updated bios. Ran several stresstests on furmark each being tougher on the system than the last, without any issues even tho games crash every ~30 min. Checked if my cooling was the issue which it wasn't. It's stable around 50-60 C on high workload. Did the pin test on my PCU. As i said im desprate on a fix so im hoping you would be able to suggest any ideas or fixes potentially. Thanks in advance. System Specs: Amd Ryzen 9 3900x Rx6700xt b450 tomahawk max windows 10 home Corsair 750w (dont remember the exact model.) 32gb 3600mhz corsair vengance. NVMe ssd 970 1tb

Hello everyone. Ive bought my pc in january, a prebuilt one. Everything worked like a charm till 2 weeks ago. My pc sometimes crashes, with graphical glitches like green or multicolor squares appearing on the screen and many other glitches but this is the most common symptom. My monitor goes no signal shortly, also my keyboard and mouse lights go off as well and i just have to manually restart my computer. When this first happend i was sure my gpu might be dead. It is an xfx rx 570 8gb. But, what happens to me is really strange. It happens more when i firstly start my pc, and as long as i keep restarting for a few times everythings works perfect, no glitches i can play everything i want for hours maybe without a single crash, good temps good framerates. Sometimes when I stop playing a game and close it, a crash sometimes appears, not everytime. So this is why I am asking you this because my gpu cant be dead, because playing all those games with best quality for long without a single crash is a good proof that my gpu is pretty much alive and working. The problem happens mostly as I told you when i open the PC first time in a day. Besides that, if i put my fans on 40% speed(with msi afterburner) first time when i open my pc I get no crashes or only one, not 3 or 4 till my pc gets usable. I also want to add that when the problem started i put my hdmi on the tv from the computer and i stepped on it and took it out of my gpu slot, ruining the cable, now im using an older one i had in my house, the hdmi cable could be the problem, or maybe the hdmi slot ruined too in my gpu card? Thank you very much and I hope ill get some responses from you, and ill try to answer quickly if you have more questions for me. Best regards.

I tried upgrading a dell Inspiron 580 with a GTX 760. The power supply is a 650 watt Corsair, so that’s not the problem. the things I’ve done so far: - update BIOS to latest version (A07) - reset CMOS with battery-method - DDU old drivers (HD 5450) - reseat the gpu the old one, a HD 5450, is still working. the gtx 760 is confirmed working on another system, just like the rest of the pc, the cables and the screen. anybody know a way to fix this? edit: I am talking about a black screen/no video output

Hello everyone, I am currently having some issues with my GPU of not running at a safe temperature. So 2 months ago my friend and I bought the exact same pc, same specs, same case ..everything is the same but the problem is that when we run both the same game he gets around 69 degrees celcius and I get around 80 degrees celcius...is this normal?? Is my gpu faulty or smthing? We both play at the same settings for assassins creed odyssey ... the only difference in my pc is that I added more ram and now it is dual channel 2x16 .. is this the problem? specs: GTX 1660 OC i5-9400f

What's goin on everyone! I've just recently built my first pc. Everything went fine in the build process. The only issue I've noticed is that only one of the fans on my EVGA GeForce GTX 750ti FTW is spinning at all times. Whether I'm playing games such as Smite or Diablo 3, running benchmarks on 3Dmark, or stress testing, only the far fan spins. My question is, is it faulty? Does it not get hot enough to engage the other fan? Is it possible the cpu is bottlenecking the card, explaining the previous question? The fan spins manually when off just like the one that operates. Like I said, this was my first build. Not all knowing in the pc department. Just started learning and am extremely interested in learning everything there is to know! Here's a list of all the specs. All parts brand new. CPU: Intel G3258 MOBO: msi H81I RAM: 8gb HyperX Fury GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 750ti FTW STORAGE: 1tb Seagate Barracuda PSU: EVGA 430w CASE: Thermaltake Core V1

troubleshooting GPU keeps crashing for no apparent reason
Ndwolfy780 posted a topic in Graphics Cards
So I'm trying to fix up my neighbors old computer that keeps crashing out of the blue. The second you try to do anything other then sit at the desktop it's only a matter of seconds before the screen goes black, and the blue screen of death comes up. His rig, if you could call it that, is an old Intel Celeron G390 on an ASRock H110M-DGS with 4GB of RAM running a GeForce GT 220. I've narrowed down the issue to the graphics card as using integrated graphics and a spare GPU things ran fine all be it slow(er). The BIOS and the drivers are all up to date, when it crashes the thing isn't even hot. It's never even gotten above 50° C. Unfortunately I can't increase the voltage beyond what it already gets as the motherboard simple doesn't have that feature. And he can't afford to get a new GPU even the cheaper ones as the little guy is still in primary school (Elementary).- 10 replies

hey everyone on the forum, i need some help finding a problem to my pc issue, i have made a forum post back in november last year but ended up with nothing, now that i have a little more info about what the problem is i wonder if anyone has the awnser. i bought new parts for my pc back in november ( X470 GAMING PRO CARBON (MS-7B78) (AM4) AMD Ryzen 7 and 32gb ram ) and changed them out with my old mother board and cpu ( dont remember what gen it was but it was an i7 and an asus mb to go with it ) after installing them and putting in my gpu ( gtx 1080ti ) every think seemed to work normaly like usual, after about half a day with the pc the issue that im still having poped up, every once in a while my screens will freeze and then go black for 2 - 30 sec and then come back on. that issue also crashes some games and programs when the screen come back. i recently saw that when my screen comes back to normal that gpu 3d had spiked up to a 100% while the screen was black, so i read up on some forums that had the same problem and most of them told me that reinstalling windows usualy helps. i have reinstalled windows atleast 5 time by now and uninstalled my gpu driver about the same amount and nothing has changed. i have also tried one other gpu ( gtx 970 ) and the same problem was there. if someone knows the awnser to my problems or have an idea of what it could be please leve a comment. AMD Ryzen 7 X470 GAMING PRO CARBON (MS-7B78) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Corsait 1200HI

RX 580 isnt being used in games there for giving me low fps in easy to run games like league and overwatch, the usage jumps to 100% every so often and then my fps shoots up but it always goes back to 0-10%. I installed and reinstalled drivers about 4 times now and my cords are plugged in right no over clocking. my cpu is at 60%-80% usage when in the games too. when i used after burner and turned unified gpu, it didn't effect any game play but instead of the spikes in gpu usage its a constant 0% Ryzen 5 1400 16 gb ram RX 580 gb 600W gold psu

Hey! I bought a pny gtx 750 ti for a second pc for streaming. The problem that I faced was that i put it in on the pcie slot and then when i turn on the computer there is not display. Ofcourse i checked if everything was pluged in right and even switched the hdmi and nothing, what could it be? The graphics card has no 4 pin connector. the computer that i am putting it in is a hp pro 3500 mt that i got for free in a office, I tried the pcie slot with my 1080 and it worked just fine.

Ok, so here's the problem: my EVGA GTX 950 SC won't display anything via HDMI on a Hitachi HD ready 32" TV. I know the PC is booting due to me connecting via RDP after a leaving my PC to boot for a couple mins. Checked devmgmt through RDP and my PC's integrated graphics (ATI Radeon HD 3000 series) are the only ones showing up. The GTX 950's fans spin like normal, there's no kind of burning smell coming from the GPU itself. Tried reseating the GPU, that didn't work, I know that my 6 pin power cable is connected to it. Even tried a different monitor and a different HDMI cable. Can't test the other display ports because I do not have the required cables/converters to use them. Mobo bios is also up to date. Specs are as follows: AMD FX-6300 working at factory clock speed. 8GB DDR3 1tb Samsung Spinpoint 7200rpm hdd. The GPU in question (GTX 950 sc) EVGA 430w 80+ PSU Asus M5A78L-M Plus /USB3 motherboard 32" Hitachi HD ready TV, Windows 7 Ultimate with Asus ROG theming. Any solutions? Oh and I built this PC just before christmas, apart from the GPU which I received for my birthday yesterday. Hasn't displayed anything in the entire day I've had it.

I was preparing a system to give to a friend. I was testing the system with a gt 640 and it was working perfectly, then I switched in the graphics card that I was going to give him, a his hd 6770. When i turned the system on, the computer power button flashed 3 times before finally turning on. I wasn't getting any output to my monitors but I could tell windows was loading from the hard drive noises. Eventually the graphics card driver was loaded and I got an image, but it was stuck in a 640x480 resolution with no options to change it. I then installed catalyst control center and the newest driver and still nothing. I put the graphics card in a system using an lga 775 board and experienced the same issue. I finally put the card in my personal system, a lga 1150 computer, and it booted fine. I did the same thing a hd 7570 with the same effect. Only this time, the power button flashed only once, The rest was the same: low resolution, lengthy time before an image showed up, and it didn't work in the two older systems but worked fine in my rig. Does anyone have suggestions as to why this is happening and how I can fix this? System that I'm giving away athlon x4 9750 4gb ddr2 ram 400 watt psu mcp61pm-gm gateway board 160gb hard drive

So I recently discovered that a year long struggle to get consistent performance in games has been due to my GPU not connecting at the full x16 that my x16 slot is wired for and runs often at just x1. Has anyone experienced this before or have any idea how to force it to connect at x16? Could this even be a GPU problem?

Hello, so i purchased a pny GTX970 because a good warranty and a good price. but i am getting a weird reading. the gpu load fluctuates and when i put load on it i get a "driver error" the next time it happens ill post a picture. for now all i can show is the info from cam. currently running folding at home figured it was a good way to figure out my max temps but i noticed that the cpus are solid at 100% but the gpu likes to fluctuate pretty crazy dipping below sometimes below 70% load. is this normal should i send it back. let me know
