Hello, Currently using molex to fan cable splitter for 3 front fans. It is connected to PSU, saving me 1 fan header on the motherboard so I have 2 headers unused now. I was told to switch to fan splitter cable so fans can be speed-controlled, making them quieter but I don't consider them to be makibg noise currently. It's not bothering me. What else would I gain from fan splitter cable? Wouldn't it wear out front fans faster than molex connection?

Hey everyone! Been having an issue with the fans in the new system I have built. The motherboard (Gigabyte Z390 UD) has 3 fan header. One header has a single Noctua NF--P12 in the rear, the second has three NF--P12 s on a 3way fan splitter at the front. Lastly off the last header there are 2 NF-P14s up top. My issue is one of the top NF-P14s stops spinning up top after a minute or two and just sits and trys to spin while the other spins fine. It does spin when plugged into the other splitter at the front so the fan is good. I have tried two different fan splitters, am wondering if I am missing something with the amps on the motherboard or something along those lines

so i bought this fan splitter for my pc for my two case fans and when i try booting up, windows goes into automatic repair mode and fails to find any problem. also when i try to boot up my pc without the fan splitter the same issue happens. what went wrong? all i wanted to do was add a fan splitter and now my entire pc wont boot. ive tried window's cmd console repair process. im genuinely pissed because i have no idea how this happened and what is wrong additional info: i was adding this to a build and my mobo is asrock z390 pro4

Keep in mind i am upgrading my motherboard down the road. Besides that please if you have any tips its my first real build! Ive always dreamed of having a PC like this (also the Ram is as close as i could find on pc part picker but its actually https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07WJJHWYD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Budget (including currency): Roughly 2000 - 2500 (dependant on if i go with a I9-9900K Instead of the I7-9700k Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Streaming, Gaming, Video Editing Other details https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XXdyTC <-- the parts So ive came here as recommended by watching a similar build done by linus. Problem is I am worried about a couple of comparability issues. I am hoping some of you built with the H510i and could tell me if I would have problems fitting the ROG STRIX 2070 Super along side my cooler in this case? Also If i will have enough fan slots on my b360m? I am stuck with the b360M for now as i actually have it in my current build and am spending everything on mainly the case, water cooling, graphics card, and CPU. I am currently very confused how im going to be able to hook up all the fans in my case. I have the two fans noctua, i have two fan headers from my water cooler (already recieved it) + 2 more for the 2 fans on the rad. Then i have to plug in still the 2 exhaust fans on the top of the case. One final question i had was about ram Intel says the max ram it can handle even on the 9900k is 2666mhz? But after i ordered i heard it can be overclocked to handle more? How much of a performance loss will i get because i bought 2666mhz?

I am planning on fitting two PCs into this case. I want to use 15 deepcool fans. How should I go aboput being able to use them all and use all of them with Aura sync, it's this motherboard: Motherboard: https://www.amazon.com/ROG-Strix-Z390-F-Gaming-Motherboard/dp/B07J53J483/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=asus+i9+9900k+motherboard&qid=1584738401&sr=8-6 Fans: https://www.amazon.com/DEEPCOOL-RF120M-Compatible-Controlled-Motherboard/dp/B07HN199YJ/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=Aura+Sync+fans&qid=1587756176&s=electronics&sr=1-2 Case: https://www.amazon.com/Phanteks-Enthoo-PH-ES719LTG_DBK01-Performance-Tower/dp/B07TVFHTDW/ref=sr_1_2?tag=awesomenetw07-20&keywords=Phanteks%2BEnthoo%2BLuxe%2B2%3A&qid=1570637639&sr=8-2&th=1

Ok guys so heres the deal. I have bought 12x Corsair SP120L fans to fit to my 3x 480mm radiators and a NZXT Sentry Mesh fan controller to run them off. The NZXT Sentry Mesh has 5 channels, each supporting 30W. Obviously there isnt enough channles to support 12 individual fans, so i was planning on buying a Y splitter so that i could run 4 fans per channel, occupying 3 of the 5 available channels. The problem is: 1. I cant find an appropriate 3pin to 4x3 pin Y-splitter anywhere. 2. The NZXT SENTRY MESH only supports 3 pin fan inputs (there isnt enough room to physically fit 2xPWM fan headers adjacent to eachother). 3. The cables provided with the NZXT SENTRY MESH only have 2 of the 3 pins actually present, and are wired using 2 cables. So I somehow need to find a way to power 12 fans in total, running a configuration of 4x PWM fans per channel that only accept 3 pin fan headers yet are wired with effectively 2 pin cables. Confused yet, so am I?

I have two cooling-related questions! First, I have an additional fan in my system mounted on the side panel, but only have one fan header on the motherboard. Currently, it's just running via the PSU directly so I'm pretty sure that means 100% all the time in this case. I'd like to be able to control it. Would a splitter allow me to control both fans separately? Or would I need a hub? What would you guys recommend for something cheap? Second, I'd like to get a better-than-stock cooler for my 7700 (non-k so no overclocking) with a relatively small case. Nothing crazy, keep in mind I only have one cpu-fan header on the mobo and very limited air-flow in the case. Any recommendations for something cost-effective and small, but better than this stock cooler? See pic for the kind of space I'm working with.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas to fix a problem I have. I'm attempting to use a Phobya 4Pin Molex to 9x 3Pin fan splitter to power EK Vardar F2 fans. The problem I have is that not even one of these fans will run off the splitter. The splitter will run my 3x Corsair SP120 fans at what seems to be 50% though, which I find weird. I'm thinking the splitter is down-volting my connection from 12v to 7v which is not enough to start the EK Vardars? Thoughts?

Hi! On my motherboard (Intel DQ35JO) I only have two fan hubs (3-pin) and I have 4 fans in the case, and I was wondering if a fan splitter is a good idea. Two of those fans are the ones who were already in the case when I bought it (Corsair Carbide Series 275R) and i'm unable to find the model (Those are Corsair fans, if you have a clue, let me know) and the other two ones are Corsair AF120 Red Led. I have a 450W 80 PLUS Bronze EVGA PSU. I tried some of those Fancasee 1-to-2 Fan Splitter (https://www.amazon.ca/Câble-ventilateur/dp/B07DF8JDVS/ref=pd_sbs_147_2/131-7917825-1357119?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07DFFB14R&pd_rd_r=fbfe9d7d-9920-4b6e-95fc-774266562594&pd_rd_w=2qB8H&pd_rd_wg=PkagM&pf_rd_p=5dcda75b-8643-4da3-9bb1-5c0233790500&pf_rd_r=8KXAGM3RP30ED53ZVKQN&refRID=8KXAGM3RP30ED53ZVKQN&th=1) but unfortunately one of them arrived with one pin missing, so I needed to return them for a refund. Do you have some recommendations, or do you think I shouldn't use a fan splitter? Thanks!

Help can you connect a normal fan and an rgb fan to the same fan splitter I am using 2 aer p fans that came with my Nzxt h200 not i I am planning on switching one of them out for a aer rgb 120mm fan but my motherboard only has 2 fan headers so I’m using a splitter for the aer p fans can I still control the rgb on the rgb fan if I get it

I'm building a pc that has 3 case fans, 2 in the front 1 in the back for positive pressure to combat dust however... dun dun dunnnn... my motherboard only has one case fan header (2 counting the CPU header) so for the last hour I've been doing some research on different ways to run the fans 1. splitter cables, I don't think this will work for me since I think the cables will be too short and a splitter can only run 2 fans, I have 3 (also a cable management nightmare) 2. direct power from the PSU via molex/sata ... yea not happening... I don't like the sound of a Jet engine in my room 3. a cheap fan hub..... sounds like a decent solution most fan hubs online say to plug the pwm cable in the CPU header on the motherboard and then put a sata in the side of the thing for power, but this would mean I would have to mount the hub close to the motherboard since the CPU cooler would have to plug into the hub. This is something I don't want to do (and again it would be a cable management nightmare) so can I run this thing on the other case fan header? the hub I plan to use is attached below and are there any other things I should know about this kinda thing? and am I talking complete nonsense here? is there another way? thanks -

I wanted to add about 4/5 case fans to my pc case but i only have 2 fan slots on my motherboard. I know you can get fan splitters but i've heard if you go over a certain voltage/current/wattage you can burn the motherboard pins. I can't find any sufficient sources to help me calculate what fans will work and how to calculate the power. I want to get the BeQuiet Silent Wings 3 120mm fan and do not know if i can have multiple on one slot. There are two versions - PWM and non-PWM. I do not know what that means. I have listed some info about my pc. Case: INWIN 101 Motherboard: AsRock B360M-HDV Power Supply: 650w Links to sources: https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/B360M-HDV/index.asp#Specification https://www.amazon.co.uk/quiet-Silent-Wings-High-Speed/dp/B01JMELYJA https://www.bequiet.com/en/casefans/718 https://www.in-win.com/en/gaming-chassis/101

I already bought 2 thermaltake riing 120mm high static pressure fans.(2.4W each) they run on 12 volts. They have 3 pin power connector I want to install both of them as intake fans. due to lack of motherboard fan header(only 2 headers on my mobo one for CPU fan and another for exhaust fan ) I want to directly connect them to my PSU(cx450m) through sata power and not molex connector (full speed, noise doesn't matter, I don't want to control or monitor them either) Can I connect those 2 fans (working efficiently without loosing their rpm) to a SINGLE sata power from my PSU using a splitter and sata to 3 pin adapter cable? If yes then how can I do that without making any mistake or affecting their performance?

Hello! The Corsair carbide spec-alpha comes with four 2-pin fans, where does the fourth one go? The motherboard what I went with has 2 fan connectors. So what kinda fan splitter do I go with? 1 to 2 splitter or 1 to 3 splitter? Probably with the 1 to 3 since I can connect one to the motherboard and the other 3 to the splitter but i dont understand that why does the case have four 2-pin fan connectors since it has 3 fans? Is there a need for 1 to 3 or is 1 to 2 okay?

Quick question about connecting this 4 pin to 4x 4pin fan splitter. Here is the link: http://www.performance-pcs.com/phobya-4pin-pwm-to-4x-4pin-fan-splitter-pcb.html#Details I purchased the splitter but it doesn't come with any cables to connect it to power or mobo. My question is what cables doi need to actually use this splitter, something like this 4pin female to 4pin female extension: http://www.performance-pcs.com/modmytoys-4-pin-pwm-female-to-4-pin-female-extension-cable-black-24-sleeved.html or or do I also need to supply power through molex? thanks.

So I just built another PC, a mini ITX. I'm using 5 case fans, but the motherboard has only one fan header (SYS_FAN) apart from the CPU fan. So I got the NZXT Grid along with it so I can use all my fans. It works, but all the fans are at 100% and I can't control their speed, neither through the BIOS or in Windows with Speedfan. It'll simply show either 0 RPM or 1200-ish, changing them does nothing. Now, I know you don't get PWM control with 3-pin headers (both the NZXT Grid and the fans themselves are 3-pin), but at least I should be able to adjust the RPM somehow? My other computer also uses 3-pin fans on a fan controller, and it works without a problem there. Motherboard: MSI Z97I AC Fans: 5x Phanteks PH-F140SP NZXT Grid fan hub/splitter Fans plugged into Grid, Grid powered by PSU molex and also connected to the motherboard's SYS_FAN header. I mean sure, I could get an actual fan controller and find a place to stash it in my case, but I've read dozens of reviews of the NZXT Grid saying that they're able to adjust the fan speeds as long as the Grid is connected to the motherboard.

Hello, I'm upgrading my cases air cooling system at the moment, but i have ran out of fan headers. I have three 4pin chassis fan headers and one cpu fan header on the motherboard, which is a Asus M5a97 R2.0. Once all my part arrive I will be using one 4pin headers for rear exhaust, one 4pin for front intake, the CPU header and then I have one remaining 4pin for two top exhaust fans. So should I get a splitter for the final 4pin connector to run my two Corsair 120mm AF fans? The fans have 3pin plugs on them so can I get 4pin splitter and leave one pin unused? If so can can anyone recommend a splitter that will work for me... I found this on Amazon, is this correct? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005FWXWPS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE Thank you James

I am using the NZXT h440 case which includes a 10-fan slitter, powered by molex. I put a 7v low noise adapter on the input, will this allow each fan connected to be lowered, of do I need to get separate adapters for every fan connected separately? Any help is appreciated.

I am falling short of fan headers on my motherboard, so I need to make some 4-pin pwm fan y splitters using which it will be easier to manage all the fans and pumps in my system and also control them. Could anyone please let me know how can I make them on own, what parts u would be needing. Thank You!

So i didnt expect fans to really be THIS confusing, but i want to place my 6 fans in my build with which i only have 2 fan headers. so i look up a splitter for them to have them all running and people say its bad to have so many fans running on a motherboard..then i hear talk of running it through the Power Supply Unit...so do i power it through the PSU or am i putting the splitter on the MB to take power from that..or if you get a fan controller does it all plug into that instead? First time builder...and i want everything done right. (also i am still in the buying process, not building yet) Specs: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/htmsxr

I'm aircooling my PC right now and am slowly upgrading it to water cooling. So, I picked up some of the fans I'm interested in using. The only issue is the Corsair 780t built in fan controller runs them way too loud on the lowest fan setting. I believe the controller sends 5v on the low setting. So, is there a splitter or fan controller that is safe to run these on without blowing out a header. I'll probably have about 15 of these in the case when I'm done, with 12 on radiators. I'll probably need to pickup two controllers or splitters. I did notice on Noctua's website they suggest against using most common fan controllers with these. Anyone know how to safely manage the speed of these fans? They're just unbearably loud right now.

I just received a 4 way fan splitter but I noticed that only 1 of the 4 connectors has a 3 pin connector while the other 3 connectors only has 2 pin. I am just wondering will the motherboard still be able to control the fan speed of the fans connected to the 2 pin connectors? I do not want them running at full speed all the time.

Hello LTT community, i have one quick question. This is a picture of my newest PC related purchase, its a very unusual brand of fan brand call Alpenföhn. these fans come with a built in fansplitter, same as the first header its 4pin and i wonder how many of these i can daisy chain before i am frying the fanheader on mah motherboard ?.
