nodejs JS/Express Send a very big string to an express server
Playlogo posted a topic in Programming
What is the best way to send a very big String to a nodeJs express server? I have a Webpage with Codemirror which is able to load files from a express server and load them into Codemirror. But what method is the best to send "the file"(actually it's a string, can be realy big) back to the express api ? -
So, I have this contact form in the website I'm making, I'm using a template I found online that uses ajax to validate that the form is working and the email has been sent, the problem is that this file that validates the form is set to work with PHP I think, so I tried modifying the file that has ajax to make it work with my node app, but I end up with the form loading forever and I get Failed to load resource: net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE in the console. note: the form is working and all and the email gets sent but I just need an indication to the user that it worked. here's the code: validate.js: $.ajax({ method: "POST", url: "/home", data: str, success: function(msg) { if (msg == 'OK') { this_form.find('.loading').slideUp(); this_form.find('.sent-message').slideDown(); this_form.find("input:not(input[type=submit]), textarea").val(''); } else { this_form.find('.loading').slideUp(); this_form.find('.error-message').slideDown().html(msg); } } }) index.js: const express = require("express"), router = express.Router(), nodemailer = require("nodemailer"), mailGun = require("nodemailer-mailgun-transport"); router.get("/home", (req, res) => { res.render("index"); }); router.post("/home", (req, res) => { let { firstName, lastName, email, website, company, message } = req.body; console.log("Data: ", req.body); let mailOptions = { from: email, to: "myemail@email.com", subject: "No Subject", html: "<h3>First Name: " + firstName + "</h3>" + "<h3>Last Name: " + lastName + "</h3>" + "<h3>Email: " + email + "</h3>" + "<h3>Company: " + company + "</h3>" + "<h3>Website: " + website + "</h3>" + "<h3>Message: " + message + "</h3>" } smtpTransport.sendMail(mailOptions, (error, response) => { if (error) { console.log(error) } else { console.log("Successfully sent email.") } }) }); Thanks in advance

Hi LTT, I recently got a M.2 drive that I will be using as a boot drive. I have a Z170 board and it prompted me to disable sata express because it shares PCIe lanes with the M.2 port. I can't find the option anywhere in BIOS to disable it and haven't been able to find anything online. Here is a link to my build on PCPartPicker. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I am in the process of building/upgrading my first pc. I have a HP pavilion streamline 3514.uk with a PCI express 1.0 slot but the graphics cards that I’m looking at have PCI express 3.0 will these be compatible and any other recommendations for upgrading this pre-built

so, I'm trying to link a css file to an ejs file but it's not working, and I think I'm linking them correctly: <head> <title>Acres & Karats Calculator</title> <base href="/"> <link type="text/css" href="css/Acres_and_Karats_Calculator.css"> <link rel="stylesheet" href="https://stackpath.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.4.1/css/bootstrap.min.css" integrity="sha384-HSMxcRTRxnN+Bdg0JdbxYKrThecOKuH5zCYotlSAcp1+c8xmyTe9GYg1l9a69psu" crossorigin="anonymous"> <link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Titillium+Web:400,700&display=swap" rel="stylesheet"> and i specified the public directory to be used in express: let express = require("express"), app = express(); app.use("/public", express.static(__dirname + "/public")); app.get("/", (req, res) => { res.render("Acres and Karats Calculator.ejs") }); app.listen("3000", () => { console.log("Server started!"); }); and there are no errors in the console at all and the css is not loaded file structure: app.js views pubilc css Acres and Karats Calculator.css

Hey y'all. So im in the middle of wall mounting my pc that i ended up realizing that ill need extension cables for both my atx 24 pin cable and 8 pin cable. I have a fsp hexa+ psu with a atx mobo. I can only use aliexpress but i havent ever before. So can some one suggest me 24pin(5 cm) and 8pin (10 cm) extension cablesand also a pcie extension cable (30cm) from aliexpress? I really dont know how to read and judge their reviews since most of them are in broken translated english. Thanks!

So my CPU (i7-4790k) gives 16 lanes and my mobo (ASRock H97M PRO4) offers 1 PCIe 3.0 x16, 1 PCIe 2.0 x16, 2 PCI. My 1080 ti takes up 16 lanes of the PCIe 3.0. Would adding a Thunderbolt 2 AIC which takes up PCIe 2.0 x4 effect the performance of my 1080 ti with its PCIe 3.0 x16? If so, how much of an impact would it have? What if it was Thunderbolt 3 AIC which uses PCIe 3.0 x4? I'm not sure which category this question belongs in, so apologies in advance if I placed it in the wrong one.

Hello! I'm having issues with my motherboard. When I have my graphics card in the PCI Express 3.0 Slot the computer won't recognize it. It gives me a black screen and the keyboard and mouse doesn't work. But when I changed the GPU to the PCI Express 2.0 port, the keyboard and mouse lit up. So now I'm stuck, what can it be that are causing this problem? And do anyone have an idea on how I can fix it? CPU: Ryzen 5 1600GPU: ASUS 1060 Dual 3GB Motherboard: MSI B350 TomahwakThings I have tested: # Reset the bios# Took out the battery.# Check all cables# Removed all ram. # Changed ram slots. Sidenote: I did put an USB 3.0 card in the PCI 2.0 port before this all started. When I did this the GPU was in the 3.0 slot could this have done anything to the system? Edit: PCI_E4 is Working and the PCI_E2 seems to be dead. The card is only running at X4 but I quess that is normal? Thanks in advance

Hello, Recently I bought 2 of the following pci E Capture cards. When i plug the cards individually to both the slots, it works perfectly. But when i plug both cards together it does not work. Device manager shows 2 separate cards as well. But when i try to capture video, it does not show anything (Audio from hdmi is received but not video). Is there any special way to plug 2 cards from the same vendor to the same motherboards? http://www.ebay.com/itm/PCI-E-HDMI-Input-Video-Capture-Card-Grabber-1080P-30HZ-F-Windows-Win8-Blu-Ray-HW-/322114792062?hash=item4aff89aa7e:g:CWQAAOSwEa5XPqPn Thanks you

Hi can I put this... Into this? Flexible PCIe Slots A new flexible PCIe Gen3 x1 slot design that allows users to install add-on cards of all kinds of sizes. * The bandwidth of your devices will be limited to PCIe Gen3 x1.

So NewEgg sent me the "wrong" Motherboard and with the crazyness of Black Friday and CyberMonday around the corner I don't know how much I want to wait on getting this turned around for the right one. I ordered the Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z97 but they sent the Gaming 5 Z97 instead. The Sniper has 6 Sata 6gb/s ports and the Gaming 5 has 2 Sata 6gb/s and 4 sata express. My question is can I run my drives on SATA 3.0 through the SATA Express ports on the Gaming 5 without having to change anything or any hassle? If not I plan on sending the board back for the one I wanted. Just curious about saving myself the return headaches this time of year.

Hey guys I'm looking for a sub based VPN service with good privacy policies and good speeds. Preferably with a HQ outside of USA or Australia but with servers in both. At the moment I've been looking at BufferedVPN, ExpressVPN, Viking VPN and IPVanish. Would anyone be able to share their experiences with any of these or recommend a different one? My current internet is 100mbps down, 2mbps up and would like to achieve at least 75% speed from servers within Australia. Cheers

I am not an expert in the PCI-Express SSD category, so I am reaching to the LTT community for some help. Let's start off with a little background information: One of my uncles is in need of upgrading his SSD storage capacity. At first he was looking into the Samsung 850 EVO or Pro, but is reconsidering the EVO option -- due to the performance degradations problems the 840 EVO posses. I suggested him to go with a PCI-Express based SSD instead as he needs the speed. He needs to have a RAID 1 array because of the data he works with (30+ years as a Mechanical / Automotive Engineer), so he needs to get a pair of them. Given that his system's platform is about 4~5 years old (he simply upgrades the necessary components every 2 years or when needed), I doubt the motherboard has PCI-Express 3.0 support -- only 2.0 and/or 2.1. Given the age of the core components of the system, I don't think M.2 SATA is not an option...unless he upgrades to a newer platform (i.e. X99) -- which he wants to avoid for the time being. The Questions... What PCI-Express SSD would you recommend for this situation? Would it be better to grab a pair of Samsung 850 Pro's instead? Is it possible to set up software or hardware RAID with PCI-E SSD's? Thanks!

I5 4690k have 16 pci e lanes, can I run r9 290(a 16x card) with an asus wireless adapter(1x) with them at their maximum performance. Can the processor handle 17 PCI E lanes?

I just thought of something I really want, but I don't know if it exists. I am looking for a PCIe riser that is an SD card reader. Something similar to the pic attached, but instead of USB ports, it has SD card slots.

Yo LTT, Anyone have any info as to when you can buy the ASUS NFC Express outright (not just when it comes with the deluxe/dual mobo)? I really want to look at getting one since my new build will have a ASUS M-ITX board in it. Thanks guys, ~~Korindo~~

Is it worth waiting for SATA express SSDs or should I just boy 6GB/s SSDs? They seem fast enough though I've heard SATA express will be faster and generally 'better'. though I'm on a budget and won't buy them if they are as expensive as M.2 SSDs. I will either use SATA Express SSDs as boot drives or to cache a hard drive.

I'm assuming that the majority of everyone here has never heard Hitfilm before, but this is an awesome deal that you should not pass up if you want a free editing program. Basically Hitfilm is an affordable alternative to video editing programs like Adobe Premiere/After Effects, Final Cut, and Sony Vegas Pro. Although it is not as good as these professional programs it is way more advanced than your typical editing programs. Personally I have never used the program, but seeing as I only have a student version of Adobe, it doesn't hurt to pick this up especially when it's free ! You will have to make a tweet about this deal, and make Hitfilm account, but that's hardly anything for a $150 program. https://hitfilm.com/express/free I would also like to share Film Riot's video which gave me this info. You should also check out their first impressions of HitFilm.

Hi guys, I know that title doesn't make sense, but hopefully this picture will help. Before I get to that, do note that I did not break them. I removed the bracket to show where it should go VS where it actually goes. I hope that conveys what I'm trying to show you. The motheboard is fully screwed in correctly as the I/O shield fits perfectly. If I move it down to line up the slots to the bracket openings, the I/O shield wouldn't fit. This is the motherboard. This is the add-on card. It's in a 3U server rack case. I don't see how I'm supposed to secure the cards without the brackets. The motherboard is ATX and fits perfectly everywhere else. This confuses me so. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Vitalius

System specs: - Win 7 - Intel Core i5 4670K 4x 3.40GHz So.1150 BOX - 2048MB Gigabyte GeForce GTX 770 Windforce 3x OC - ASRock Z87 Pro3 Intel Z87 So.1150 Dual Channel DDR3 ATX Retail - 650 Watt Super Flower Golden Green HX Non-Modular 80+ Gold - 8GB (2x 4096MB) Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600 All of my hardware is new. Gpu-z reports that my bus interface is running at 4x instead of 16x. Feels like I'm getting more jagged edges and things "popping" on my screen after it changed to 4x. And I noticed a little decrease in benchmark results. And I've noticed that gpu power consumption never goes over 85%. Heaven benchmark uses only about 65% tdp and msi kombustor uses 85%. If I boost my power limit to 111%, power consumption goes to 92% in kombustor. Is it weird that it newer goes to 100%? Things I've tried: - reseated everything (gpu, cpu, memory) - nvidia control panel: prefer maximum performance (power management mode) and single display performance mode. Vsync. Physx settings from autoselect to gpu and cpu. - using different memory slots. - default cpu and gpu clocks - updated bios - updated drivers (also tried older and beta nvidia drivers) - reinstalling windows - 10 passes in memtest86 and 0 errors - installed windows updates - power options: high performance (link state power management: off) - adding 12mv voltage to gpu - increasing power limit (gpu) - checked for visible hardware faults - cleaning pcie slot and gpu golden pins

Hello guys, its been a while posting here... So I was kinda wondering about the performance of my PC.. I just need some little knowledge from you guys so I can clear up my confusion.. Will the performance of the graphics card with pci-express 2.0 decrease with the motherboard with pci-express 3.0? (Or vice versa)? Clearly I just want to know if its true or not.. I am not thinking to upgrade my system at any moment but this thing will surely come handy.. (Cuz I am using Gigabyte GT 630 with PCI-E 2.0 but I am ok with for now) Anyway thanks a lot and you can also put a huge lecture if you want to *cheers*

I was looking at the new Z97 motherboards and noticed one had SATA Express up to 10gbit/s. Where would you benefit with 10gbit/s as opposed to 6gbit/s? Doesn't your drive's speed limit the data transfer rate anyway? How would you use the 10gbit/s speed to its maximum potential? Thanks, Blueprint
