This is my cable https://www.amazon.se/Nätverkskabel-Ethernet-kabel-Höghastighets-Internetkabel-kabelklämmor/dp/B0B5QLQT1G/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=Snowkids%2BCat%2B8%2BEthernet%2BCable&sr=8-5&th=1 It got in this vacuumcleaner from dyson (the vacuumcleaner basically tried to suck it in but it couldn't) Is this enough to cause some sort of damage to the cables inside the protective rubber?

(Sorry in advace for my bad grammar) This is more of question of monitor durability. so this was the problem, I once have a Viewsonic XG2431 240hz monitor, being a 240 then of course i change it to using 240 hz in windows. and i use it for a couple months not even a year. sometimes the monitor brightness starts to dimming itself then back to normal. It happens maybe 2 times then the next day it goes back fine, so i didn't think much about it. then one day when i turn my pc back on, there was many lines in the display and shadows like on the attachment. i never drop the monitor never pour liquid on it, it just stand there being a monitor nothing much and it did that. Because its still on warranty i tell viewsonic about it and they gave me a new monitor. then i also have 2019 razer blade advance model with a 240 hz display. it works fine too until one day a big line appear on the side of the screen and the display are turning on and off. I can confirm that other component are still fine since playing on an external monitor was fine. But being a laptop it is, i still need the display to work so i can bring it anywhere. then i search google and found out that changing refresh rate to lower may help. then i do that using steamlink to access the windows 11 setting and change the display refresh rate to 60, and surpisingly it work. (the display are in on off state, the display are black more often then showing image, thats why i use steamlink to access the setting, doing it via external monitor won't do either, since windows save setings for each duplicate/extend/show only in display 1/2. so i need to change it only in show only in display 1). the lines and the glitch in my display laptop are gone. so after that these question poped up in my mind. Was the XG2431 broken because of setting the refresh rate at its max? will it be fixed once i lower the refresh rate? Does the lifespan on a higher refresh rate monitor shorter then a standard 60hz monitor? Ive multiple standard monitor that are still working properly even from 2010. Or all this was just because im unlucky? because all this i wonder if there is someone that try to review monitor from its durability and reliability standpoint, instead of display performance haha

So... recentely I've got a Logitech G305 mouse and upon searching on the web these mice have issues with either signal or double clicking. I am just wandering how reliable are these mice really? Will they last just one year or they are an investment that you can carry with your PC over to the next platform? Does anyone have any idea or experience with them?

I was trying to inspect the back of my motherboard with my smartphone's flashlight when I accidentally came too close to it and my hair bangs (I have oily hair) touched the mobo. I don't know where it touched, but It was very near the CPU back plate. Can the oil from my hair cause damage to the motherboard in the long run? If it touched the back of the CPU socket, can that be problematic? I am a bit paranoid, because I recently changed my i5 8400 CPU to a 9700k without changing my almost 3-year-and-a-half-old motherboard, and I want my motherboard to last as long as I can.

Hi there, I am looking into buying a monitor since my laptops monitor is 15.6inches which is waay to small for me. The screen is okay but I would prefer better. What I want:: IPS or similiar. Fine viewing angles. 20+ inches. under 130 dollars/euros/pounds. Slim bezels to then upgrade for a dual/triple monitor setup. Durable and will last 2+ years. What I found: BenQ GW2283 This monitor has all the specs I need and theres no bad reviews on it whilst there is on any other monitor I have found around 120 pounds or less. My questions: Is there a similiar monitor like this but cheaper/more durable? Am I being trolled and this monitor is bad and wont last long? Anyways once again thanks for reading and hopefully you guys can help me out. Btw I am in Europe so buying from china/US is not an option.

Sennheiser Momentum "In-Ears" or Shure SE215s Planning on using the earbuds for more than 2 years. Not at all going to buy replacement parts (obsoleting the removable cables feature of the SE215s). I'm going to frequently stuff the earbuds in my pant's pocket, consequently pull them out frequently, putting a lot of strain on the cable. Taking all those things into mind, which is more likely to survive a longer time?

So my headphones just broke, and It didn't last very long (just over a year), so I'm looking for a new 7.1 head set. I wanted to ask any of you who owned a hyper x cloud or cloud 2 for a while (2 years plus), how well has it lasted over time? I just want to make sure the next head set I buy will last and not brake in a year. If you had a 7.1 headset that is around the same price and lasted this long as well, I would be glad to know as well. Thanks

I have my gaming rig and all my other stuff in rack mount cases. I currently am cooling my 6600k with a Noctua NH-D9L and a pair of NF-A9 PWM Fans. I MAY have clearance for SOME 120mm tower coolers if I remove my internal cross/ add in card brace. but I wont do that. Ive looked into it and have heard some okay reviews and some not so happy reviews about the Phononics HEX2.0 cooler. I do realize that the software that is downloaded for it is still a bit janky and not really the greatest but I can get temp feedback from the CPU and other sensors so no big deal there as long as it will allow me to control the level of cooling (which it does). Has ANYONE had personal experience with this 92mm cooler and my big question... IS IT DURABLE. Is the pelt plate of quality and will it last? I know if you buy Amazon or eBay peltiers they are usually of questionable quality and burn out fairly quick even with proper heat removale via heatsink or water block. It's expensive but would be perfect in my situation as I do NOT want to put water in this case.

I'm looking for a performance NVMe and HDD to finally complete the gaming rig I'm building, and I'm not sure what to choose. It seems like a lot of benchmark websites don't include "generic" drives like those found on Amazon. For example, I found this Silicon Power drive that looks really promising, because it has a 2,000,000 MTBF and 1,665 TBW, which I haven't seen often. And the performance looks good too: https://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-Gen3x4-000MB-SU001TBP34A80M28AB/dp/B07L6GF81L/ I was thinking of just getting a WD Black 4TB drive for the HDD, but any help would be greatly appreciated in that regard as well. What do you guys recommend? Does cache matter that much for HDDs in performance/gaming? Thanks!

I've read many reviews of the thinkpad X230 and X240, stumbled upon archaic tech forums, watched youtube reviews and it's comment section. The general consensus I got was that it's pretty popular, very modular and open (removable ram, battery, storage, multiple types of dock and multiple capacity of battery), inexpensive, and VERY durable. I stumbled upon a forum in which a user said that he left said series of thinkpad in the snow, and then later on, found out that it still working minus bluetooth. (Could be lying but that's pretty specific and hard to believe) So, any extreme experiences with said series of ThinkPad?

Hi guys, this is my first post here. Well, I'm looking for a new laptop for my dad. Let's start with what we have. He's been using a Lenovo Business laptop (forgot the model, can tell later, but it costed around 550$ back then) since early 2007. And it really is a very impressive laptop. Sure, it still runs windows XP and some other outdated softwares, but it's 4gb ram is still "Okay" for web browsing, E-mailing and document typing. Through this 11+ years, we've never encountered any hardware issues with it. Just some scuffs on the plastic. The display, trackpad and keyboard are still in very usable condition. But now I am looking for a performance upgrade to that. So can anyone please recommend some 7th or 8th gen laptop which have good build quality costing 500 to 700 US Dollars? Is Lenovo still a good option?

Here’s a quick question - how durable are the passive radiators in JBL Bluetooth speakers? Will lightly touching them as music is playing damage them? What about throwing the speaker in backpack with other items in it? Thanks.

It seems most phones with AMOLED I have seen does not appear to have external damage after dropped, yet they fail! So are AMOLED less durable against drops than a LCD? In most cases with LCDs they actually most be cracked before a failure seems to happen. So what is up with that? Is this a thing or just by chance? O3O

Hello, I'm thinking about getting a controller for Gamecube emulated games and things like the Telltale game series and the Batman Arkham series. I've been looking at the Xbox One controller with the wired USB connection (I'm still on Windows 8.1 and Amazon UK don't stock the 2016 bluetooth version) so the USB connection is my only option. The Xbox One controller is £40 whereas the wired version of the 360 is £60, hence my decision to go for the Xbox One (alonside it's improved build quality and better triggers). I was wondering if anybody had any experience with the durability of the connection as I've read online about many usb ports breaking or becoming loose. If anybody has any insight into this, or personal experience with the controller I'd be very grateful! Thanks!

Hi everyone, I'm in search of a solution that is not very common nowadays. I currently posses a OnePlus One which I've had for 3 years now ( got it in December 2015), and I just wanted to swap the battery which was slowly dying. I intended to keep the phone for a very long time but I bought a replacement battery and it is crap, it's currently having 2000mAH instead of the original 3100mAH. This is far worse than my aging 3 year OEM battery. It seems impossible to acquire OEM battery after this long a time since the manufacturing of the OPO batteries stopped a while ago, which is fair I guess... So i'm considering my options here. There is no way to have a good replacement for my battery, so how can I insure that I will be able to use my next phone for a very long time ? I do not want to buy overpriced phones, I do not need monstruous power or anything, I use my phone extensively for calling, texting, whatsapp, messenger and small applications/web. Ofc if it can be really reactive it's nice (I'm happy with my OPO as a reference). I know apple or samsung have service centers which should cover me (I'm okay to pay less than a 100$ for a replacement in 2/3 years for a IP67 device), but come on the price is nuts ! Any advice ? Thanks !

Hello everyone! I've been searching online for a 240GB/250GB SSD and I tend to notice a few things. For raw cost per gigabyte, PNY and Kingston SSDs tend to be on the cheaper end for storage, ADATA and Transcend and OWC SSDs tend to be moderately priced, and Samsung and Intel (and lately SanDisk with it's ExtremePro) SSDs tend to be very expensive for the same amount of storage. I've wondered why this is. I don't think differences in market success and marketing add up to make this huge price difference. So I am wondering this: are Intel and Samsung (and the SanDisk ExtremePro) SSDs more durable? Do they include more features? Do they include better warranties? Do they include better support? If it is due to durability, please inform me and other forum users about why these drives are more durable? If the price difference is due to features (TRIM, etc.), please include those in your answers. Warranties, same deal. Support, same deal. Thank you to everyone who puts the time to answer this earnestly!

I decided at some point that I was going to build my second PC sometime in the last 6 months, but I was torn over a few things. I want this thing to be running at least 10 years from the day I built it, but I also want performance. 1. Sealed liquid cooling or air cooling for CPU? I know liquid cooling is better in the cooling aspect of things, but from what I've heard, it may not last as long as old fashioned air. It would help a lot if you could also tell me what model cooler I should use. 2. NZXT or Corsair? (Cool looks vs. sturdy, reliable, I think) 3. SSD or Hard Drive? If SSD, what will last longest and still give me a fast boot up time? My part list on PCPartPicker is here.

Hi guys, so i am going to purchase a 980ti within 2 weeks at most, The one i am currently interested in due to specs and noise is the waterforce by Gigabyte. I have never used an AIO before only air, i am currently using a 460v2 which i got shortly after its release, its still going strong on air and just now i am starting to hearing coil wine when i game, I am worried that if i go with the waterforce that while temps and the noise will be exactly what i want along with performance, the fear of a part failure or leak is worrisome and since i am the type of person that runs his Pc 24/7 durability matters alot, I want to jump on the W/C scene with my gpu first and later my cpu, but its this worry that gets me. ps. (I will ultimately have a skylake machine within 2 or 3 months max and will add the psu, 212, & 980ti to that new build) 1. How long are these AIO rated to last? I have stuck with air for this reason but if the change is safe and i can get say 4+ years with the card i would be happy with the AIO. 2. If i have a failure a year after use will they warranty it? (assuming no fault on my side obviously.) 3. Is this card supported by any aftermarket vendors for a custom loop? Thanks in advance for all your assistance, LTT longevity My system CPU: Intel 2500k Ram: 8gb Patriot sector 5 Mobo: Asus P8P67 Le rev 3 GPU: 460v2 Nvidia Cooler: 212 hyper evo SSD: 250gb Os loaded Samsung 850 PSU: 500w antec >>>>>>>>OTW from newegg 1000w corsair hxi HDD: 6 tb of drives

Hello guys, So I've generally only used crappy earbuds like the samsung or apple ones, and those tend to get destroyed within a couple of months. I always listen to music while walking (adds up to around a couple of hours or more a day) and this time I've gone insane by crappy earbuds. What I want to know, is if any of you guys have used the Bose QC20s for a long time (preferably someone who walks a lot) and could comment on the durability of them. Also, if you recommend me NOT to buy these, please let me know why. Thanks in advance

So, I'm in the market for a new computer chair. My current chair is.....falling apart. The leather on the cushion is completely torn up, something underneath is breaking because every time I sit down the chair will rock in ways it isn't meant to and make terrible noises. So I find myself wondering, how long do desk/computer chairs last for everyone else? I'm a heavy guy, about 250lbs, and I tend to "plop" down in a chair rather than ease myself into it like you skinny people. I keep looking at chairs on Amazon, but I've no idea what will be a durable chair. I want something where the fabric won't tear at the seams after a year, and where the cushion foam won't collapse over time and end up being a flat platform on top of a piece of particle board. So, what do you recommend for less than $200? And how long do your chairs normally last?

I'm experimenting with servers using ubuntu on a 2nd PC. It's over 12 years old, really slow, and it has its problems... Once in a while, strange errors and issues occur and I have to reinstall Ubuntu Desktop for it to fix. Now I'm wondering if I'm better off using ubuntu in virtualbox on my main PC instead. 1) I'm wondering about the hardware wear on the main PC. People say servers destroy hardware. And also, having 2 operating systems running. My main PC is not necessarily fast / durable. 2) I'm wondering about the power usage of an older PC. 3) It's just not a nice way of working with this crappy old PC. But I'd rather destroy that than my other. It's not that good either but I don't have anything better. Main PC: Intel® Core™ i5-3350P CPU @ 3.10GHz 8GB RAM GeForce GTX 650 64-bit 2nd PC: Intel® Celeron® D CPU @ 3.20 GHz 1,5 GB RAM Gallium 0.4 on NV4A (night vision?) 32-bit (Another option is to just get hosting but I'm not ready to put up anything finished yet and I'm not sure if I want to go that route) Thanks
