A problem has been bothering me for a year and a half or so. After looking into it on and off for that much time, I turn to the ever wise forums for help again The video on my TV will occasionally quickly fade to black for no obvious reason. I got the TV brand new as a raffle prize at my job, it's an RCA RHOS651SM (65 inch 4K SmarTV). Kind of a crap box, but I effectively paid $8 for 65inch 4k so I can't complain. In all my troobleshooting here's what I've discovered: - The audio does not cut out - The usual "no input" card does not come up, like when the tv is on but the device is off (indicating a black signal being displayed, rather than there being no signal) - The problem is consistent on multiple HDMI inputs and multiple cables. - This behavior is often replicable, with certain screens or games consistently triggering it (i.e. Disney+ on PS4, or the home edit screen in Animal Crossing on Switch, or any part of Donut County on PS4, and one specific location I've found so far in Kentucky Route Zero on PS4). - As a quick fix whenever it happens, I toggle the "HDMI EDID" setting on the TV between "1.4" and "2.0" (none of my devices output at 4k so no real difference for me). This fixes the picture until triggered again. - This behavior has never occurred in the built in Netflix or Youtube apps, even when streaming & displaying 4k content. I have two resonable guesses, but I've mostly explained those away: 1. Because it's a cheap TV, the device and TV aren't 'handshaking' correctly, and "refreshing" the HDMI version picks it back up. I don't know too much about that proccess but I have to guess if that's the problem then there would be no signal to begin with. 2. The display controller is cheap and overheating and activating some kind of failsafe. But it's only processing 1080p signals coming from external devices. And if it's advertised/designed to display 4k then I really doubt that's the issue (not to mention Netflix and Youtube displaying mostly fine (sometimes Youtube will stutter when streaming 4k, but I'd bet that's the onboard CPU being too slow to decode that stream)). I've been observing this behavior for a long time and I am completely out of ideas. so as always, any input is greatly appreciated!

Hey all, I recently moved to a new apartment that has ethernet jacks built in to the unit. I am not too familiar with these as the previous places I have lived have been too old to have them. To my understanding, as long as there are ethernet wires connecting my router to my PC, I should get a wired connection. The first time setting it up, I had a successful connection and was getting my advertised speeds of 400 Mbps. Great, problem solved? Nope, after a little gaming session on my wired connection I shut down my PC. The next day I booted up my PC and was greeted with no wired connection. Running the windows troubleshooting tool prompted a "connect an ethernet cable" solution. I double checked all my cables and restarted my router modem and PC and it solved the issue. I then shut my PC down and tried again a few hours later and was prompted with the same no connection. I attempted to troubleshoot to see if it was my PC but after connecting a long ethernet cord directly from the router to PC, it worked fine. I am asking to see what recommendations anyone has for assistance with this issue. I have attached a couple of pictures and a poorly drawn diagram made in MS Paint. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Note: I know this is the correct "bridged connection" in the "junction box" as this was the connection the couple of times it did work. Made an account to post this here because I thought it was fitting. So my Ps5 controller was fully charged but wouldn't turn on. Tried the reset button and plugging it in my pc(only half the buttons would work). Out of options I threw it kind of hard on to the floor and now it works fine. So dropping things doesn't always break things it could also fix them lol

So, last week I finished setting up my office internet with Spectrum. Currently it is running on an Arris Modem/Router combo, which I know is garbage and I'm planning on replacing it anyway. However, the main problem is the title. Out of the 5 computers connected to the network, my laptop, a Dell Inspiron 15-7577, is the only computer with problems accessing the internet, regardless of being connected through 5G wifi, or ethernet through the phone system. To summarize what is happening is that I can connect to the wifi and have connection for up to 5 minutes at a time, before losing internet access, yet still being connected to the 5G network. Same issue through ethernet, but 5G seems more stable than ethernet, which also doesn't make sense to me. I have tried renewing my ip address (cmd, ipconfig /renew) which didn't help with resolving the problem. I have narrowed the problem down to something with my computer, as the router, while pretty trash, doesn't seem to give the other computers problems. I have included a CMD log that spans some 10-20 minutes ish of me pinging 8.8.8.8 Edit: Just noticed that if I disconnect and reconnect from the wifi after losing internet access, I regain internet access. cmdlog.txt

I've noticed that GTA V for example was released in 2014 but the price doesn't seem to drop beyond the steam sales, why is that? what do you think? i think this is because they use sales instead of lowering the price all together, but im interested if anyone has an idea or speculation i haven't considered.

Hey Guys, this week I bought my new laptop Asus Zenbook 14 UX433FN with Intel Core i7-8565U, 16GB RAM and Nvidia MX150. I don't want to game on this very offen on the highest quality. But I want to some light gaming. Mostly Overwatch and some other light games. So and there is the problem. I know, this GPU isn't powerful for playing games in High settings, but it is powerful enough for 60FPS in Overwatch on FullHD and medium or low settings. Judging by the rewiews, my laptop have no problem with this, but I have problems. I try to play Overwatch on 720p and low settings and where was many FPS drops. It is smoothly for like 1-2 minutes and after that I have FPS drops to 10-15FPS. Same with Mafia II what is 9 years old game. I try: Reinstall graphics drivers Configure Nvidia Graphics Settings to maximum performance and other settings to improve performance Plug laptop diractly to power socket Change some Value in regedit according to some YouTube videos Nothing works. Can you please help me with this? Thanks for every reply.

system: asus b450i - MSI rx580 8GB - ryzen 2600X - 16GB corsair 3200mhz - 512GB Crucial SSD this problem started happening about 2 weeks ago, while playing simple games like Fall Guys and League of legends the framerate will tank for about 1-2 seconds. during this time the CPU is nowhere near full usage but the GPU will plummet down to 0%. i have updated every driver on the system, did a thorough ram test, swapped graphics cards to a gtx 1050, clean install of windows, double checked all temps (none exceeded 75C even while slamming them in Furmark, most were well below) yet nothing has been able to remedy the situation. the stutters are quite common and even occurred while I typed this message. Though they are much more noticeable during game-play. (no Overclocks, though the ram is technically factory overclocked \^.- ) Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Hello I've recently had a lot of trouble with the fps my games had been getting. This has been going on for a while but now its become almost unplayable. I have video but it doesn't show very accurate fps as I was only spectating people play(Rainbow six siege btw) But when I actively engage in any game my Fps plummets from 100+ to around 18-60. Also its super unstable fps. I've also noticed this has been happening with all games so it wasn't because of any patches or updates. I play R6,pubg, overwatch, etc. if you need any more info please ask!! any advice can help specs cpu:i7 920 gpu: amd rx480 1tb 7200 aircooler 9gb with 6 channels. P.S. my gpu drivers are up to date!!

Dunno if this should go in Troubleshooting or Networking. I have the annoying issue that 5 to 10 times a night my internet drops to the point where I get logged out of any games or continuous connection places. Weirdly it happens mainly late when I'd expect there to be low traffic. Are there any tests I could do to find out what's causing these and if there's anything I can do about it? I know jack all about networking; I pretty much know that I have powerline, an ISP (sky, UK), and their basic router, and that's it. I could buy a new router but couldn't use a straight ethernet connection and wifi is possible but painful. Mobo has intel LAN. Also changing ISP would be tough because they give sky tv in a bundle making other ISPs relatively very expensive.

I have a windows 10 home built pc and i use a Netgear N300 wireless usb dongle due to the distance between the router and the pc. (router in bedroom, pc in living room) I keep having a problem where windows will completely disconnect itself from the n300 and not even see it. It will just show that there is no wired network attached. Sometimes it will just drop internet and show "Limited Connection". The only way i have found to fix either problem is to unplug the usb dongle, wait a few seconds, and plug it back in. I have to repeat this atleast every 1/2 hour. I changed the device manager setting so that it doesnt shut it off to save power but nothing changed. Ill be using the Steam Link and it just drops connection on the pc so the Steam Link disconnects. If i try to download anything it will stop the download as well. I have the most up-to-date drivers as well. Anybody know how to fix this?

So you've heard the news as was posted on LTT, AMD & Origin made up but the question is why ? And did Nvidia in fact give Origin money to dump AMD cards ? Turns out it's actually more than that & Origin will be selling AMD GPUs again starting with the 285.... interesting. Here's the story Personal opinion I personally never liked Origin PC, their systems are vastly overpriced and they have no additional value to add like most other botique PC builders they also handled the situation with AMD disastirously they're very lucky AMD didn't sue or resort to some other form of punishment like withholding GPUs which Nvidia actually does to punish board partners that screw up.

New Router: Asus DSL-N55U Old: Netgear DG834G Between dropouts the modem works perfectly and apart from the disconnections and re-connections nothing is reported in the adsl log. I'm currently using the old modem so i don't have the actual logs on me, soz. I'd really appreciate some ideas because I've toggled all the settings trying to find out what the problem is, still have no idea. It's running the latest firmware and i actually RMA'd it got a brand new one and hasn't changed it so probably not falty. At this point i'm planning to change it for a netgear N750 or something. As the old modem never drops out. It's insanely frustrating when you get kicked halfway through games, thanks in advance...
