So long story short I went back to my parents place for Thanksgiving and took my PC, set it up on my old desk by the door, turned it on to watch twitch while unpacking. My sister's cat decides to walk into the door and sniff the pet crate(she's very skittish about my room for some reason but not me) but I try to go an walk over/around her to leave but she freaks out under my feet and somehow I pulled my PC right off the desk (I swear my hands went straight to the door frame but whatever) and it fell feet first on the carpet knocking all the side panels and top panel off. Fortunately the only "fatal" victim of this mess was my M50xBT's, but that's when it started. After I picked up my computer, put the side panels back on and turned it back on to check if it was alright. It seemed fine but I learned my trusty cans were dead, until my PC froze. All the RGB in my case was frozen mid-animation, my twitch stream was frozen with no buffer screen, Explorer was fully frozen, but my Chatterino app was flying past my face. I turned it off and turned it back on and the freezes changed so that videos freeze, browser pages work, windows will freeze if I try to minimize or move it, the internal RGB still freezes, I can popup task bar options but they won't close after i make my selection, and Chatterino still works. I reseated everything from cables, to my cpu, gpu, ram, and hard drives to no avail. I checked my CPU pins and they all were still attached and seemed straight. I've checked the integrity of my drives and they appear perfectly fine. So I'm not quite sure could be causing these crashes. My gut tells me it's a hardware issue but by wallet begs for it to be software

I built my new PC 1 month ago and I was very excited to dive into my favorite games without the lag I was having with my previous build. Soon after playing a couple of games I found out that every time I Alt+Tab out of the game (I have tried it on League of Legends and Farming Simulator only for now) and then come back to it my fps drastically drops almost like the game is running as a background app and the PC isn't acknowledging that that's the Tab that I am using in the current moment. I tried to update my GPU drivers but it does not seem to work, the only thing that fixes is to change window mode to Borderless and then back to Full Screen but if I Alt+Tab again I have to do it all over and that happens every time. I don't know what to do at this point and I would love it if someone here could give me a fix for this problem. My setup: Ryzen 5 5600x GTX 1050 Ti RAM 32GB 3200mHz MSI B550-A Pro PSU EVGA 750W Bronze Samsung EVO 970 500GB HDD Barracuda 8TB

Crazy stupid idea... like all the best ones... It starts with the Startech 35SAT225S3R, which is already unusual. It is a 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch sata RAID adapter. That's right it takes 2 sata 2.5 inch drives and uses an internal RAID controller to connect them to your computer but installed into a single 3.5 inch bay. Nice... make those SSD's and it should have pretty good performance... except for that SATA bottleneck, but who's counting? BUT THAT'S NOT ALL Next comes Startech's 25SAT22MSAT, which is a msata to 2.5 inch sata adapter... and again... it is a dual drive RAID controller... now you see where I am heading. You take 4 mSATA drives and install them into 2 of the mSATA to SATA adapters... both in RAID 0... then.... then you install both of your mSATA adapters into the 3.5 inch RAID adapter.... you now have 4 separate mSATA SSD's installed in dual RAID 0 inside of 1 3.5 inch enclosure... and put that in RAID 0 as well Now benchmark it I am willing to bet you will see a massive improvement of 0% over just a single SSD on SATA. But hey, whoever said computers were about performance. This is about being the first, the one, the only person to ever install 4 SSD's on 1 single SATA connector..... Here is where stupid pays off... the startech adapters are $50 each... you can get 4 mSATA TC-SUNBOW M3 1TB drives for $100 each. So for $550 you can have a 4TB 3.5 inch SSD... that is the exact same price as the WD Blue 4TB 2.5 inch SATA SSD. BUT this one has RAID!!! Hey Linus... I think I found a stupid video... and you can drop this one too

Don't hate me but I like RGB. I hate the unicorn puke rainbow crap but I like to have a solid color usually always blue. I play games at night and I just like the way the light looks shining through the legends. I am thinking of pre-ordering the GMMK pro that is going to ship q1 of next year. However, so I'm not sold on south-facing LEDs and probably only going to use OEM keycaps. My question is how dim will the legends look if the LeDs are self-facing and the legends on the keycaps are up near the top AKA North facing I guess? The barebones GMMK pro will be $120. Other options: Is the Drop CTRL barebones (on sale $130) worth the price increase compared to the GMMK bare bones (usb c version, $69)? Between these three options I'm really stuck. I know North facing switches have compatibility with Cherry keycaps and all that crap but I don't see myself using those so it doesn't really matter to me.

Just built a new high end rig and I am getting some serious and very frequent FPS drops while playing warzone and its making the game almost completely unplayable. I'll be getting steady 120-150fps and then it will drop to about 30fps for a split second, multiple times a round. This is super annoying and I really would like some help fixing this!! Hey! I've got this problem where when I stream (in-game, or not) my stream's FPS drops from 60 to 10-20 FPS for a few seconds. BUT I do NOT get any DROPPED FRAMES in the Streamlabs troubleshoot section! I can only see the FPS counter on the bottom right corner going from 60 to 10-15 when it happens. I use Streamlabs OBS, because it's pretty helpful and easier ot use than OBS, I've tried the normal OBS and I still have the same problem. This problem occurs every 10-15 seconds when I'm live and people tend to get annoyed by it, saying they're like scrolling Google Images and leave the stream, obviously... This ''lag'' is only on my stream, I feel nothing when I'm in a League game for example. I play with 144 fps steadily on a 144Hz Monitor, while my stream lags every few seconds. I've tried different stream settings, for example lowering my bitrate, lowering the video quality of my stream. lowering the video quality of my games, changing from NVENC to x264, nothing works!? If anyone has a solution, I'd be glad to hear it out! Here are my PC's specs: Motherboard: MSI Z170I Gaming Pro AC CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 HDD: Random 1TB hard disk SSD: Samsung 120GB This is my old computer which I use here in my hometown when I come back every now and then. I've streamed from it for a couple of years back in like 2016 till 2018 and I never had any of these problems. My guess is that the PC is just old?

So i have an HP Omen 15-dh0138TX with i7-9750H, 16 gigs of ram and an rtx 2070 max q. Based on those specs i should be getting above 60fps in gta 5 constantly yet i don't, and my gpu isn't even using itself fully. Its usually at 30-50% usage and temps are at around 70 degrees. Its not being bottlenecked cuz my cpu is also at 30-40% while playing the game. In certain closed areas i get around 100fps at times, but as soon as i go out my fps drops to 40-50. My settings are: -textures on very high and everything else on high. -Fxaa is on and msaa is at x2. -No reflection msaa and water quality is at normal. -extended distance scaling is at 50%. Pls help and thanks

I was looking for options around 15 inches in length for a full size keyboard. I was interested in the DROP Shift Mechanical keyboard, but I think it's only available in the grey aluminum color. I would much prefer it being black but the layout of the board looks perfect to me. My other option I found was the GMMK2 which is a 96% keyboard but there's zero space between the arrow keys and numpad which the DROP Shift had, and I really like that. Is there any alternatives to the DROP Shift? I know there are plenty of full size keyboard but what i'm looking for is one around 15 inches, every full size keyboard I see is around 17 inches.

After finishing my new PC i realy was looking into playing DSP agian. But as soon as i loaded a big Dyson-Sphere Blueprint the fps dropped to 7 and the GPU showed realy odd behaviour: (I know big Spheres are heavy on the system and the fps is just fine if the rendering is turned off or if you're just in another solar system) (all drivers are up-to-date) At the main "resolution" (UWQHD = 3440x1440) i get 60+ fps (GPU is at max load) At 2560x1080 i get 110+ fps (at 1920x1080 => 150 fps) (GPU is at max load) BUT as soon as i turn on the rendering for the Dyson Sphere (building in progress) somthing odd happens: 1. The usage is all over the place, power dropps from 100W to just 25W (GPU). 2. The Game slows down and i can only get 7 fps no matter what the "resulution" is set to. (Screenshot of Afterburner and HWM) My friend has the same problem with his PC (GPU: 2070 Super) - So it's not a AMD thing. I read that this could be a multithreading problem... Adding a mod (DSPOptimizations) helped go get 1-2 more fps so now the game runns at 9 fps (woohoo)... Another post i saw mentiond that the game needs to do lots of "floating point calculating"... To sum it up my question is: - can somone who got this game and a high-end GPU confirm this behaviour? (max radius Dyson-Sphere) -is there anything i can do (is it possible this could be a multithreading problem)? (if it is what would you suggest) -or is it just not programmed good enough?

I've have had two computers now and they seem to have the same problem. Let me give you an overview now. This all started with my last computer after i had used it for about 2 years. I had a GTX 1060, an I5-6600, and 8GB of ram. I updateted my drivers and cleaned my parts but nothing seemed to work so i bought a brand new computer 3 months ago. Everything seemed great until about a month ago when the same thing started happening. I see noticeable spikes in the CPU usage, GPU usage, Power%. Right now i have an RTX 2060, Ryzen 2600X, 8GB of ram, 450W PSU, MSI A320M PRO-E mobo, 64 bit Windows. I have cleaned my computer and updateted my drivers but no hope. Any help will be much appreciated.

As of April 17, 2020, the linear amplifier Drop + THX AAA 789 has dropped in price from USD400 to USD300. For anyone in the market for a new standalone amplifier (no built in DAC), this may be your go to now. Crystal clear sound, with power to drive any headphone in the market. It really offers a fantastic value for what you get, and it would be the next tier after the likes of Schiit Magni Heresy and JDS Atom (similar sound signature, but cleaner). Product page: https://drop.com/buy/drop-thx-aaa-789-linear-amplifier/talk Although my opinion is that you should care less about measurements and more about how things sound to your personal tastes, here you can see how it performs objectively: https://www.audiosciencereview.com/forum/index.php?threads/review-and-measurements-of-massdrop-thx-aaa-789-amp.5001/ Tip of the decade, free of charge: DO NOT cheap out on your DAC, especially when going with the Drop 789. Based on personal experience, I can say that its clean nature easily allows you to tell the difference between good and bad sources. DACs are not only about giving you multi-functionality, but also making the sound be more accurate. You will, however, get more functions when spending big bucks, with the ADI-2 being my recommendation in that category, especially considering the price (not cheap, but a good value nonetheless).

I was cleaning my pc of dust today and while i was looking at the gpu (palit stormx 4gb 1050 ti) i tried blowing on it but i spitted a little bit. So i cleaned it up made sure its dry and i assembled my pc. I lost 2 standoffs for my thermaltake cooler so i just put 2 diagonally. gravity pushes it down so i dont think i should get higher temperatures. When i booted on the pc i played a match of csgo and my fps was 10 or 5 lower than usual and it would stutter. Is this because my cooler is missing 2 standoffs or because i spitted on my gpu and are there any possible fixes. cpu cooler is thermaltake contac 16.

Hey forum, I have been experiencing an issue in many of my games, most recently in Payday 2, where I get constant frame drops. It will run completely smooth at 60fps, then drop to around 20, then spring back to 60. My CPUs clock speed is stable and runs around 45 degrees. The GPU also is not throttling. What could be causing an issue like this? Specs are listed below. Thanks in advance for any help.

There's been a lot of talk about price drops in response to competition from new Ryzen chips. I'm sure many of you are waiting to pull the trigger on major purchases, in case prices continue to drop. Just how much of a drop are we talking about, and when will we start seeing them?
