Hi, this is my first post on this forum. I didn't know where this belongs, but I couldn't really find a good place for it(mods move this if that's preferred). Problem: When playing Borderlands 2 the image freezes but audio(music, not effects) are still playing. Further explanation: The game stops. It resumes to normal all from a few seconds to minutes later. This happens so often that the game becomes unplayable. This happens in singleplayer and multiplayer, but the difference is that when it's multiplayer the "world" continues, you can get attacked, but in singleplayer it stops. You fire up MSI Afterburner and you can see that everything seems normal except that the GPU performance fluctuate between 0% and 100%. You try to lower every setting to lowest to see if it helps. It does not. It's time for you to search google for a solution. You find out that reinstalling the game, disabling Physx, running "Borderlands2.exe" instead of "launcher.exe", updating drivers, or even turning your system off and on again doesn't help. what can possibly be the problem? Solution: Windows 10 doesn't cooperate well with DirectX9. You need to run it in compatibility mode. How to fix: Browse local files Go to steam library Right click Borderlands Properties Local files tab "BROWSE LOCAL FILES" button Go to \Binaries\Win32 Right click "Borderlands2.exe" Properties Compatibility tab Check the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"-box Then run it in Windows 7 Now you just have to make a shortcut to "Borderlands2.exe" to run that and not the "launcher.exe" and you're good. Been playing for a couple of days with no freezes at all. I hope this helps.

Hi, I'm based in Australia and looking for people to play some games with. I play mainly Counter-strike: Global Offensive 1600hrs (DMG). Alot of Grand Theft Auto V Online (600 hours, Rank 134), Just a little bit at the moment: Dota (500 Hours) Player Unknown Battlegrounds (played like 11 games so far) Also keen to revisit borderlands 2 and the Pre-sequel. Paladins - I'm liking this more than Overwatch I have Magicka 1 and 2 on steam, been wanting to play these for a while.. Some Wow (5 level 110s, 19 100s, just levelling atm). Killing Floor 2 (got all my perk classes on 25) Saints Row 4 - I've beaten this a while ago, but I want to try the co-op, I have the original version, not the censored Australia version though. and a little bit of Overwatch Just let me if u want my steam. I'll be happy to play any of these games when i'm not at work.

Hey there it's me again I don't know why but every time I put "View Distance" on anything other than "low" my FPS dramatically drop: CPU usage stays at about 30% with Ultra High and GPU usage isn't higher than 70% PC: i7 920 @ Stock 12GB DDR3 Ram GTX 1060 3GB In areas with many objects I get around 10 - 30 FPS with "Ultra High" with "Low" about 50 - 60 FPS An easy fix would be to play on "Low" but that looks like crap.

I'm getting 20-45 frames on Borderlands 2 medium settings at 1080p. My PC settings are only using 25-30% of both the graphics card and CPU... people before were telling me it was a bottleneck with my old rig, but I'm getting the same results on my new rig. If my current hardware cant handle a 6 year old game, then I don't know what to do. I'm not planning on buying a $16,000 rig to run older games, that's for sure. All cores are accounted for in my CPU and are not using max power with the game loaded. There is no overheating - everything is 40-50c. I have unplugged everything twice, and yes, I have the right drivers and reinstalled them once already. I have yet to check bios settings... but could it be anything else? Feel free to answer, as there maybe someone having the same problem in the future. GTX 1070 Ti 8gb 16gb RAM > 2400mhz Intel I7 8700K RDG STRIX Mobo EVGA 700w PSU

Specs are in sig Yes, yes "welcome to the BL2 runs poorly club" so here's the deal: It runs very well most of the time, I'm only having issues in large areas like Thousand Cuts and Tundra Express (and though large, The Highlands run smoothly) (and oddly enough in Sanctuary even though the city is small), so I have another theory: I'm having trouble when there's large areas with lots of stuff happening. Before, I'd have PhysX on, and in Thousand Cuts it would drop in the low 20s, I've since disabled it and performance has improved, it drops to 45 now but still not perfect. I've also disabled the cell shading which also boosted the performance by a lot, however I'm still getting these drops, which makes me suspect it's a CPU bottleneck. I tried fondling around in the config files tweaking every single setting I could think of, but still did not have much success. So I've come to the conclusion that this may very well be a CPU bottleneck at this point, even though my CPU is way beyond the recommended settings.

I realize this thread is rather old, but it's sadly one of the newest posts I could find so far relating to this topic. I've been having the same problem as the original post mentions but changing compatibility is not having an effect on the issue. I've tried everything the original post mentioned as well: reinstall of game, checking local file integrity, monitoring hardware, etc. I've run this game better in the past on the same hardware but something has changed. Whatever it is doesn't seem to have an effect on my other games. I'm able to run DOOM on full settings in both 1080 (over 150fps avg) and 4K (over 80 fps avg). Any ideas would be appreciated. I can't believe this is a simple matter of tech getting too far away from original design of game hardware compatibility. Hey everyone, I have recently been enjoying Borderlands 2 and have been playing it through with my cousin. Currently I am playing as Zero and am level 25 and am still playing through the campaign. The reason I'm posting is because my cousin is only on for limited times as his PC is at his mums house hence he isn't able to play while he is at his dads. So I'm just looking for around 1-3 people (Not including me) to play through borderlands from the start. It would involve starting out another character from level 0 (or 1 idk) and just playing through, grinding out the game. If anyone is interested, feel free to add me on steam: steamcommunity.com/id/deadeyekozi Just leave a comment on my profile saying "BL2" or something so I know that the add is from this. Also, I'm from Australia and am in the timezone GMT +10, and am available to play from 3:00pm-11:00pm Sunday-Thursday and 6:00am-1:00am Friday-Saturday. Thanks

So my specs are... FX-6100 at 4GHz, 8GB 1333 ram, R9 270x 2GB at 1100/1450MHz. I used to have a GTX280 and it was pretty nice in Borderlands 2. A 9800GT ECO by BFG has come into my possesion after I did a computer job for a friend. Would it be a decent improvement if I added the 9800GT as a dedicated physx card since when I try to override to physx on high, it's lag city indoors. Im also playing at 1600x900 btw and using a 750W psu. I should have some leg room for this card.

I just downloaded Borderlands 2, and found that i have to turn down all the settings to even get 30-40 fps at 1080p, with a 970 strix and fx 8350. am i being unreasonable wanting to play this at high details at 1080p with this set up or is something wrong? thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! I have an issue with my computer, while playing borderlands 2, I noticed that when there were a lot of enemies, the framerate dropped and my CPU usage climbed all the way to 100%. I know that this game is kind of old (2012) and I think that I might be CPU limited. My CPU is an intel i5 650, my graphics card is a GeForce GTX 760. What do you think?

Hello. I've been getting some strange GPU usage graphs in borderlands 2. My gpu is the 380x, cpu i5-4460 and OS Win10. I sometimes get small fps drops, but never under 40. Is this normal? Happens also with Skyrim with V-sync (blaming it) on, but the fps never gets under 60. Usually not in other games.

Borderlands 2, it's expansions, and most of the other DLC only $7.99 today at GameStop. It's a digital download, but for some reason GameStop restricts that to US customers only. Borderlands 2: Game of the Year Edition (Steam) — $7.99 (list $40)

Borderlands 2: Complete Bundle is $12.50/€12.50/£10.00 right now on GameAgent. The site is made for Mac games but it is a steam key, so it will work on Windows and Linux as well. Complete Bundle includes "Borderlands 2: GOTY Edition", "Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2" and all the "Headhunter" DLCs. It's basically "the real GOTY Edition, since the GOTY Edition only includes 4 out of 9 DLCs. The only thing you don't get in this bundle is the extra 30 character skins. https://www.gameagent.com/games/borderlands-2-complete-bundle

Hello, I know this topic might not interest many members, however i thought i would upload this topic anyway in case someone was interested. I am constantly annoyed at the fact that many PC games don't support the local co-op feature - unlike consoles, PC gamers majority of the time have to have two computers connected to play a LAN game with a friend. This constantly happens to me and as my friends are console gamers we have to resort to playing FIFA 15 or Dynasty Warriors all night when they come round... Alas, this is no longer the case!! Below are the forums to refer too if you want split screen on PC: http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=151660 http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2943265 I have also uploaded pictures of it working on my computer. Happy gaming

Valve have announced that BL2 and BL the Pre Sequel are coming to steam OS. I think that this is great and will help to move people over to steam OS. Even if I'm still going to stick to windows, I'm still very interested in steam OS and where it will be in the future. http://store.steampowered.com/news/14548/ original post from valve http://www.computerandvideogames.com/477901/steamos-gets-borderlands-2-borderlands-the-pre-sequel/ Article -Billy

Hi, I have been planning to build my girlfriend a low-budget pc for a while now, for us to play borderlands 2 together, due to her fascination towards this game. I live in Canada. Pc: -lowest price possible -should run borderlands 2 with decent to good graphics on one monitor with stable 60fps I already have: SSD, Borderlands 2 and gaming peripherals And I was thinking that 4GB Ram should be enough, if not, please let me know. My landlord gave me an old pc with an intel pentium 4, without harddrive and ram, I sadly cannot find the mobos name. (It still uses the thin and wide "sata" cables and has a floppy disk reader what is a sign to upgrade..) I can definetly use it as a case since it must be a mini-atx tower. It has a built in PSU with 300W output what i think is sufficient and if it breaks ill simply replace it. I will also get a decent graphics card from craigslist like a gtx260 or something similar, should be nvidia though since PhysX is awesome in Borderlands 2. I was looking at the Amd A4-6300 processor for a while now since its integrated graphics are not the worst and with its 2 cores and 3.7 GhZ it shows enough power for 50CA$. The question is: should i get a different cpu? FM2+ Mobos are also not very expensive, i found decent one from AsRock for 40CA$.. Please help me build a super low budget pc for borderlands 2. Thank you
