(obviously, i know i l need to update the BIOS, but will it work fine and without compatibility issues?) Also, any suggestions for new PC case? -
Hello, i have question about BIOS update, if i update my motherboard (B450 tomahawk MAX) to a last stable version of BIOS(7C02v3B) which have support for 5000-series processors, can I run my 1500x on it? Hello. I am soon to build my new gaming pc, and for my motherboard I will be getting a MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX II, from NEWEGG. The new one costs $114.99 and you will get a $10 prepaid card back. So the end price will be $104.99 + tax. The refurbished one costs $91.99 and you will get a $30 prepaid card back. So the end price will be $61.99 + tax. Is it worth buying it refurbished? Or should I buy it new for the extra money? I was thinking I can get either the new one with a r5 3600, or I can use the money I save from buying it refurbished to get a r5 3600XT instead. What should I do? thanks for any help!

so i am in severe need for rgb as my upcoming build has zero rgb in it. i think i need 2 400mm strips - one at the top one at the bottom, both near the tempered glass to iluminate the insides gently. i have like a $70 budget for rgb pls reccomend me a compatible one. my case is phanteks p300a and has an rgb front panel connector but im not sure if it should plug in into the motherboard(msi b450 tomahawk max) or directly to the led strips. i also do not really understand the different rgb softwares(mystic light, aura sync...) Do i need a software to control the rgb? preferrably available on newegg

Hi, I currently have a B450 tomahawk max, but i have bent/broke the pin on usb header (ID) when originally installing it in my old case that seemed to have a dodgy case connector. I am donoring this board to my sons build, and was looking at getting a new board for myself. My new case (phanteks p600) has a usb c 3.2 front connector, but last time i asked it doesnt look like many boards currently support this, and if they do, are closer, or over £200. If i get a new board without this, i can always use the other two usb 3 A ports on the front. So, i only need a board for the 3700x, that will support the new rtx 3000 series when they come out, can i just get another B450 tomahawk for £110? I see the tomahwak x570 will be released next month, retailing at £220, is that best all round, meaning i could also upgrade to ryzen 4000s? Latest i would need to purchase is 3rd week in June, sons birthday is 6th of july, Thank, jim -
My build: Ryzen 5 3600 B450 Tomahawk Max 2x8 G.Skill Ripjaws V 3600 250gb Kingston SSD 650w Corsair CX PSU GTX 1060/1080 (Been swapping them to make sure its not a graphics failure, same results) Images: https://imgur.com/gallery/nTuIgUQ I've posted this on reddit and no one (could or did offer help). This is my last resort. Everything is brand new parts. I believe everything is seated in properly. I got my motherboard replaced, I seated and unseated cables, graphics card, CPU, RAM. Reset CMOS, flashed BIOS. I don't know what to do anymore.

Hi everyone, I want to build a PC with Ryzen 7 3700x and NVidia 2060 Super. I am in a search of a good but not overpriced motherboard and I don't need PCIe nor SLI, so I'm going for B450. I know that MSI B450 Tomahawk Max is one of the best choices, but I was wondering, what about MSI B450-A pro max? It is cheaper, but is it worse than Tomahawk Max and how much? Any other alternative? And please, compare it with Tomahawk Max.

So about a year ago I bought me a gaming pc from Cyber power PC that had Old spec: i5 8400 B360m Bazooka Team group Ram 1x8 Rx580 4 gig 1tb HDD Corsair 600w Psu And since been upgrading it bit by bit Started off With Ram and I bought another stick. Ended with me buying a new CPU And MOBO. >MY PROBLEM is that when I turn on my XMP with same RAM I used to have before the swap its running at 2400 and it used to run at 2777. I thought if anything I was going to be able to clock it higher. Every time I turn on the XMP or Turn up the frequency the PC gets black screen on reset. Extra details: The Team group Ram in there looks the same but I bought 1 of em off Amazon while the other came with the computer. Hey guys, im planning to build a pc for gaming. I want a strong enough pc but I'm on a budget, I would like my pc to be future proof so that I can upgrade to a ryzen 7 3rd gen in the future. My current specs list is Ryzen 5 3600 Inno3d GTX 1650 super 16 gb ddr4 3200mhz (8×2) Corsair Vs450 Wd green 240gb m.2 ssd Ant eSports pc case For the motherboard I'm confused as to which b450 board I should get. Im currently confused between the Msi b450 tomahawk max, msi b450m pro vdh max, gigabyte b450m ds3h, Asrock b450 steel legend or the gigabyte b450 aurus elite. Please help me decide. Also if you think I need some changes in my build please go ahead and leave your suggestions as this is going to be my first pc build Thanks in advance

Hello I built new pc and it didnt post, no hdmi1 found on monitor, looked on MOBO cpu light was on. Specs: MOBO: B450 TOMAHAWK MAX CPU: RYZEN 5 3600 RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE LPX 16GB 3000MZH GPU: MSI RTX 2060 VENTUS XS PSU: CORSAIR RM650X 650W SSD: 1TB KINGSTON KC600 CASE: DEEPCOOL MATREXX 55 V3 ADD-RGB 3F Everything is plugged in, fans work, usb ports kinda work(only my keyboard does not work only when i turn on and off psu for a sec), took out ram tested it in every chanel it worked fine, removed ssd, removed gpu nothing. Removed cpu to see if pins are broken they are not. Updated bios with flash, cleared CMOS nothing. At start for ~0.5sec boot light is on then off then cpu light turns on for ~3-4 sec then it turns off for ~3-4sec then it turns on again and MOBO leds at the back turn red. Sorry for bad english

(This May sound dumb) I’m looking at building my first pc and not sure which motherboard to go either the msi b450 tomahawk max or msi b50 gaming pro carbon ac motherboard. the tomahawk supports the 3600MHz Corsair ram I have chosen (just looking at the specs) where as the pro only goes to 3466MHz, I know I can probably overclock this but don’t want to yet, but does it matter if the ram is just that bit higher? I am also going with the amd ryzen 5 3600 and gigabyte GeForce gtx 1660 super OC 6GB. i like the look of both but fancy the wifi capability of the gaming pro so I don’t have an Ethernet cable running through the house, I may end up getting a powerline adapter kit.

As this is my first pc build I am not too sure if I did this right so I’ll write what iv done so far, as my pc parts arrived today, a b450 tomahawk max and a amd ryzen 7 3700x. so I put my ddr4 ram in the mobo a2 and b2 slot as manual says. Then I inserted the cpu it had no physical damage and slotted in with no issues, then I insert my gtx 1660ti pny oc xlr8 fan, as I turn the power on it wouldn’t boot and shown the red cpu led on the motherboard, I have no idea what iv done wrong or what to do if anyone has any idea please mention. Thank you!

So my build comprises of an RTX 2070 super ventus oc which will be overclocked, 16 gigs of Trident Z ddr4 which will be ran at 3600mhz, Ryzen 5 3600X which will be overclocked to 4.4ghz, On a b450 tomahawk Max, also powered will be a Cooler Master liquid 240 radiator and some fans and an ssd and hdd, thanks guys! **EDIT** so I’ve been told the 3600x and 3600 are basically the same meaning I could allocate the price difference towards a better cpu, I was thinking now of a Ryzen 7 3700X? -

There is a lot of popping, and in-game objects regularly appear and/or disappear as I approach or distance myself from them. Hello guys please I need help I just buy the b450 tomahawk max I have gskill trident z RGB evga 550 power supply gtx 1060 and a ryzen 7 1700. Only the motherboard is new I just open it today and it was the first time it boot I have one problem it doesn't detect the one dim of my rams I have 2x8 total 16 and it doesn't detect it the 1 it goes inside the bios and says that I have 8gb but you can see that it detect my dim on the motherboard. I try to change it 2-4 1-3 I try the opposite way I remove battery nothing I boot into bios with a ssd of my secondary pc to see and it says I have 16gb but the usage is 8 what I can do please help me. (I have the latest bios ) From my experience I think the problem is the cpu the memory controller from the cpu I have test on intel system 8700k my rams and is working what do you think ? Help me please thanks and have a nice day

Hi guys, Building a PC soon but I have no idea what ram should I buy for the system below. I would like to keep the costs low but any rgb is welcome. Cpu: R5 2600/3600 or R7 2700x - does this matter which one i get and can you give recommendations for each of it does matter. Cooler : wraith prism stock cooler Motherboard : MSI b450 tomahawk max GPU: Gtx 1070 or Rx 580 8gb This pc will be mostly used for gaming or pc work. Hey I built a pc a few weeks ago and moved it today to a different spot and now it won’t boot. The error LED says it has to do with “VGA” but I tried reconnecting graphics card and it still shows same message. Here’s the specs of the Pc https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DTqbMc . I disconnected and reconnected everything a few times but still no fix. Just looking for general advice before I drive it over to microcenter to see if they can fix it.

The color transitions on mono and case fans are sudden, not smooth as cpu fan. Hi all! I have a ryzen 7 3700x on a b450 tomahawk max running at 4.3 ghz with 1.1250 volts until recently it wouldn't turn on. Right now I'm running at stock speeds to figure out what's wrong with it. I built my rig last April 2020 and was always running at those speeds not until today that my monitor would just be black screen and my mouse and keyboard don't respond. I've already resetted the CMOS in order to turn on with default speeds. Anything I should do or try to fix this issue? All help and tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks!
