  1. I have an ASRock Z270 Supercarrier and used the Internet Flash utility in UEFI setup to upgrade the BIOS from 1.10 to 1.11. The upgrade process completed successfully and no errors were reported. However, when the computer rebooted with the new BIOS, it just hung with a blackscreen. I have rebooted the system over 20 times, with the same result. The boot process runs for about 15 seconds, the Dr. Debug LED settles on 09 or d0, and remains in that hung state. According to the manual, "after several failed boot attempts, the backup BIOS will take over" -- but this doesn't seem to be happening. It still boots from the active BIOS (BIOS_A_LED is on). I also tried unplugging the computer and depressing the clear CMOS button for over 10 seconds, but that didn't seem to have any affect. Is there any way that I can force a switch to BIOS B, or alternatively, downgrade BIOS A back to 1.10? The motherboard was working fine with 1.10 before I upgraded it to 1.11.
  2. Project „SL5T“ "SL" as you already know from Mercedes Benz, is to make the first impression what this project stands for. Elegance, luxury and simple forms. The MasterCase Maker 5T is used. The interior is as discreetly as possible cleared of all unnecessary elements. The walls are clad with Plexiglas and multi-layered in the design of the mainboard. An elaborate water cooling system is installed which, however, is kept as minimal as possible. A cover is made for the cable area, which provides a window for the PSU and on which the ASROCK logo is placed in case size. The logo is framed with the design of the X99 Gaming I7 as well as I would like the elements of the mainboard to continue the whole case. (The red racing arrows between the lower two PCIe slots) All cables are sleevedin the hardware colors. From the outside the contours of the Maker 5T are emphasized by Plexiglas, where also sponsor logos will be found. So much for the formal part. The Maker5t will be my next Rig, since I have not yet a good portable Gaming PC. So I have now also evasive possibilities when my table times problems and above all I can finally also times my table new hardware miss. Actually, I wanted in this project not so much effort to operate but again will grow the mod again tremendous. Since I now the first time on a separate X99 board change, I dedicate this mod to the ASROCK X99 Gaming I7 And let the whole project be inspired by the mainboard. Hardware Watercooling Sketches In order to bring the project as smoothly as possible, I took this time a bit more time on the computer and already times sketches for the different covers created. The elements are glued together in several different colors. Partially varnished, partially foil and partly (only) polished. For use comes Plexiglas in various colors and thicknesses, aluminum foils and varnishes. Hardware pic´s The majority of all components are already there, but see for yourself: A big thanks goes to all who support me with this project: ASROCK COOLERMASTER BitsPower Blacknoise
  3. Hello world, I have a quick question, will the CORSAIR Vengeance LPX 8GB (2 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3000 (PC4 24000) work in my ASRock Z270M EXTREME 4 LGA 1151 Intel Z270 HDMI motherboard? Here is a link to both of them on newegg. Not exactly sure how the compatibility works just seeing a lot of number and some advice from someone who knows what they are talking about is greatly appreciated https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157743&ignorebbr=1 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233829&ignorebbr=1 THANKS SO MUCH GUYS!
  4. Hi, So on the ASRock website there are like a million different drivers. Should I just download all of them or which one(s) should I download? http://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/Fatal1ty X99 Professional Gaming i7/index.asp#osW1064
  5. Hi guys, I'm fairly new to PCIe land and have a question about something i want to add to my build. I work and study with audio as a profession and was wondering if it is possible to add this card to my build: StarTech.com 2 Port 1394a PCI Express FireWire Card my mobo claims to have these slots: - 1 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 Slot (PCIE1: x16 mode)- 1 x Vertical Half Mini-PCI Express Slot: For WiFi + BT Module Anyone clued up on this?

  7. I had a strange issue happen with my boot SSD (Crucial M4) and I've tried everything I can think of with no solution. I had a perfectly working set up for the last 5 years with not a single issue. Recently, a friend of mine built his PC but had a DOA GPU which we discovered after we installed his GPU (RX480) into my PC for testing (for the testing, all I installed was AMD Radeon 17.6.2 and Unigine Valley). When I came to turn my PC on a couple hours later, I came to discover that my computer no longer recognises my SSD (even at a bios level). The strange issue is that when I plug my SSD into another computer (also in AHCI mode), I am able to read all the data and even boot the install of windows on that drive. In addition, CrystalDisk said it was at 92% health. I have tried every SATA port/cable combination I have as well as power in put for the drive, but this has not changed the result (the port/cable combinations were tried on other HDD's in my system and they worked without issue). I have tried both IDE and AHCI modes as well as flashed my motherboard to the manufacturer's latest BIOS drivers. I have also attempted to rebuild the boot partition in my SSD using command prompts, but this has not resulted in any progress. For note, I have flashed my Crucial M4 to v070H. I am all out of ideas as to what the issue is or how to fix it. Any suggestions? 9. so i have a Asrock G41m-S3 motherboard. i did search google about this but couldnt find a answer.in another forum i asked a question about psu suggestions for running a gtx 1050 and a guy was like, " I've been reading up on cases where the new GPU's have issues with the legacy BIOS of yester years. Even if your PSU could power the system, the motherboard wouldn't allow it to operate and the CPU you own is going to severely bottleneck your GPU if you somehow got the GTX1050 to run on your system. In short it's a lost cause." is this true? wouldnt i be able to run a gtx 1050 in my motherboard?
  10. Good evening everyone, I'm a first time poster here so please be gentle, I'm delicate. I've been messing about with computers for quite a few years ago, cannibalising old hand-me-downs and fixing the computers of people I know. Anyway, the other day I decided to finally build myself my own, decent computer for college work and programming, which brings me too my issue. I bought an ASrock Extreme4 MB, an Intel i3 6100, 1 8GB DIMM of Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400MHz and a Corsair 460X. Upon building my computer yesterday all was well, POST and clean boot first time. However, after wiring it up to my AMP through the rear 3.5MM audio port I found that I had to turn the volume on my AMP and computer up quite drastically to achieve the same volume as before. I'm aware that some MBs don't amplify audio out of the rear I/O so I repeated this on the front panel audio with the same result. I tried both ports with my headphones (Sennheiser HD439s, 32 Ohms Independence) and at full volume I could just about hear what was playing. In addition, I attempted to test the front microphone port but upon inserting the cable there was a large pop from the speakers and my system black screened. I cant fathom what is wrong other than a fault with the board. The panel cable is fully inserted into the header. The most up to date drivers are installed. All volume mixers at max. I tested with a spare front panel I/O to check whether it was my 460X but to no prevail. TL;DR - Low audio amplification out of front and rear I/O on ASrock Extreme4 and black screening upon inserting microphone. I appreciate any help. I just want to check that I'm not being an idiot and forgetting something completely obvious before I RMA this board. Thanks in advance.

  12. Hi, I seem to have a problem with my BIOS with admin password. After logging in the admin password the easy tweak (main menu) is working normally. But as soon as I click on the Advanced Tweak tab (or press F6), everything freezes. The only thing to do then is to press the reset/power button. Logging in with the guest/user password is completely fine, but I can't config anything. It was in read-only mode. I've checked, my bios version is up to date, same version with the latest download on the asrock website: P1.40 (14 Nov 2016). When I tried to flash the firmware from internet it said I have the latest one. I also reset cmos by switching the jumpers but it still had the issue, and the passwords are not cleared. (I couldn't find a password reset jumper tho, only a CLRMOS1, I moved the jumper, left it for ~1 minute then moved it back, before that I unplugged everything as guided by google searches) All of that and the problem is still here. As a noob I don't know what to do and what's causing it. Apart from that everything is working fine. Windows still boot quickly, apps and games still run smoothly.... Since I don't even OC I might as well don't even care... but I really need to enable the "allow to use CPU's GPU" (I want the i7-7700 connects to a second, small monitor so I can chat while I game on fullscreen with my VGA) and to turn off the "Wake-up by USB" or whatever that keeps my keyboard and mouse's LED on even after I turn off my PC. Or if there is a way to do these 2 things above without the need of accessing the BIOS, please tell me. I don't wanna fiddle with it if I can avoid it. Please help. Thanks a lot. P/S: my system: ASRock B250M Pro4 Core i7-7700 RAM Avexir 32GB Ram (profile 1 - bus 2400 on the easy mode bios page) GTX 1080 Gigabyte G1 Gaming
  13. Hello, I need to know if the ASROCK H110M-ITX/ac supports 7th generation processors. On the website it states 6th generation, but I know a lot of companies have been making BIOS updates so that they can support the 7th generation as well. Thanks, Tim
  14. Hi, recently my system has been acting a bit strange lately. Every time I start my system it proceeds to POST but then immediately shuts itself off and then tries again and again until it finally POSTs. I found out that it's something related to my GPU. When it happens, I notice that sometimes the motherboard picks up my GPU in the slot and sometimes it doesn't. I don't think the GPU itself is damaged in anyway because when things do boot, everything is stable, stress test in Furmark without issues, no artifacts, no shutdowns, no overheating, nothing. PSU was also ruled out by testing it with a DMM, the voltages are all within spec of 12v, 5v, and 3.3v at idle and under full load, plus it showed no signs of stability issues completely maxing out the system to draw max power from it. What could cause this problem why it immediately shuts down as its starts (starts then in 3 seconds it shuts off itself)? Motherboard shorting causes this? 15. Hey, I'm choosing between the onboard audio of two motherboards, the MSI B250 Gaming M3 and the ASROCK B250 Gaming K4. I really care about my audio quality but cannot afford to spend more cash on sound cards or external DAC/AMP. I will be using it for a lot of music listening and content creation. I don't mind the more expensive MSI Motherboard but don't know if I will get better audio. I will be using the Audio Technica ATH-M50x headphones. 16. Hello LTT users! I'm hoping to create like a sort of mega thread about the lack of innovation seen on modern motherboards. If this is in any way discouraged, I encourage the moderator team to let me know and I'll adjust the thread accordingly. My main topics of discussion: 1) Quality of the PCB itself (I don't really think this has changed too much) 2) Power delivery systems 3) Onboard cooling solutions (or lack thereof) 4) The lack of many useful changes coming to ATX boards (why do SFF boards get all the attention) 5) The amount of stuff you're getting for the price (sales don't count) To sum up my opinion of the recent market changes, Asus has lost my respect. Why would you only cool half of the MOSFETs? Do the other half just instantly overheat? Now before you say that CPU coolers provide socket airflow, we need to consider that many are using AiO liquid coolers which put a pump at the socket instead of a fan. Even their signature TUF series of boards are lacking proper MOSFET cooling. For $150, you think I'd be getting something better than a piece of aluminum slapped over half the MOSFETs. http://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/k4dFf7,jQqbt6,7BZ2FT,9L2rxr/ http://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/m9X2FT,xwH48d,8GtWGX,z4wqqs/ -Darren
  17. Hello all. I would like to know, if a motherboard has 2 x CPU Fan Connectors (1x4 pin, 1x3 pin), can I use 3 pin to connect a normal case fan (which is also 3 pin) or would that be a bad thing to do? Another question. If I connect a 3 pin fan to 3 pin connector, how do I control it's speed? Via BIOS by decreasing voltage (12V, 7V, 5V) or does motherboard regulate speed itself? (I don't trust her ) Here is the link to some ASrock motherboards I have been looking: http://www.asrock.com/mb/compare.asp?Models=Z270M Pro4,Fatal1ty B250M Performance,B250M Pro4,Z270M Extreme4 Also let's take a look at Z270M Extreme4. It has 1 x Chassis Optional / Water Pump Fan Connector (4-pin)...this can be used for connecting a normal chassis fan right?
  18. hi guys i have being trying to find a gigabyte thunderbolt add-in card for some time now but have given up on finding a gigabyte thunderbolt card, but have seen that both asus and asrock both make thunderbolt add-in cards. has anyone tried or gotten ether of these cards to work in a gigabyte bored. i have two gigabyte boards both support thunderbolt add-in cards. an x99 g1 gaming wifi and a z170mx gaming 5. any help would be great thanks
  19. I made the very grave mistake of trying to update my BIOS when everything is still working fine However, i want to ask for a possible solution anyway. My mobo is the Asrock Z270 Extreme 4, and the story is this: While in Windows, i downloaded and installed the Asmedia SATA and USB controller drivers for the mobo, as well as the 1.31 BIOS from the support page (the new BIOS is to be flashed in Instant Flash), and copied the BIOS file to a USB which i just formatted to FAT32 at the same time as all of the above. After installing the Asmedia drivers, i restarted the PC and entered the BIOS immediately, Instant Flash-ed the BIOS from the USB, waited and there was a "BIOS update successful" message, prompting a reboot. When i rebooted, however, nothing happened (i waited 5 minutes, thinking the mobo is still POST-ing), the monitor was on but showed no splash screens, the keyboard and mouse weren't lit up, while the CPU fans were spinning normally and the system ran on without ever rebooting. I tried everything: removing the GPU, removing all case plugs (except for the power button-power led plugs), removing 1 stick of RAM, used the jumper to reset the CMOS, removing the CMOS battery for 10 minutes, and the problem still persists. I wonder: Did i corrupt the BIOS? Or is there something i can do to fix it myself? If nothing works, i'll just return the mobo and get a replacement. But i'd prefer to know why this happens in the 1st place Note: The board has 2 BIOS chips, i backed up the older, working version into the backup chip, but swapping BIOS chips would void my mobo's warranty, so at least there's one thing i haven't tried yet...
  20. This is not a Brand war, I reapeat this is not a brand war! So I hear a lot that asus is superior to all other mobo companies and I also hear how asrock is kinda like the runt of the pack. But what I'm wondering is which one is better when it comes to features and reliability!
  21. Asrock have shown off (the motherboard for) their deskmini Z270 motherboard and barebones system, and oh my god it's small. At under 3 litres and featuring an MXM slot, it's going to be the most power-dense barebones system that's avalible on the market. For those who don't know, STX is Intel's new SFF board standard, measuring ~5x5 inches. Asrock extended that standard to inclue an MXM slot. WARNING lots of pictures: The board features 4 M.2 slots.. Holy shit 3 of which are PCIe 3.0 x4, and 1 being for a wifi card. Yay it's fully featured on the front and rear The system will be able to accept up to 120W MXM cards, which will be provided with the barebones system (So basically, a GTX 1060 or RX 480/470/460 will be able to be used) but higher powered cards could be used if a more powerful power brick is used. Cooling will be handled by some sort of downdraft cooler, but no other pictures have appeared of it, and therefore we can't really say much about it other than it uses heatpipes and what looks to be a 90mm fan. 22. Asrock motherboards for Intel Kaby Lake processors that runs on socket 1151, same as current Skylake but with a brand new chipset. The boards still comes with your typical gigabit lan, onboard audio, video outputs, USBs, etc. And most importantly Aura RGB lighting! Some models will have more power phases like 12 compare to the rest, support for SLI, CFX, and memory can reach up to DDR4 3866 (oc). http://videocardz.com/64799/kaby-lake-stuff
  23. So, this was a problem I had for a while, My computer goes straight into windows when I turn it on, but when I turn it on and smash delete, nothing happens. My monitor just says "Entering power save mode" and I think that my computer must be in the bios scince when I press the "reset" button it goes straight to windows. If you have any ideas on what might be wrong plz just gimmie your opinions! Thanks!
  24. My question is. I will buy CSX 4GB DDR3 1066MHz CSXA-D3-LO-1066-4GB But im afraid that it wont fit in my mother board ASRock G41C-GS If someone can tell me if its good and it will fix i will be thankful.
  25. I am looking into getting new case fans for my budget 2014 PC. I just recently got a new Corsair CX650M, and now I want to modernize the fan setup. Currently, I have some very cheap fans hooked up on a Molex adapter to the motherboard. I was about to order two Artic fans, one in an 80mm size, and one at 120mm, but I found out that I may have some connector issues. I am using the ASRock H97M Pro4 motherboard, which has one 4-pin chassis fan connector, and another that's a 3-pin. This linked Artic fans are both 4-pin PWM fans. It's important to me to have motherboard fan control on all case fans, so I considered getting a fan controller. I'd really appreciate it if someone could explain to me how I can setup a cooling system with two case fans (an 80mm and 120mm) that both have speed control. I am willing to get a fan controller, but I don't want to spend too much money, and I've never used one, so I may need some guidance. Thanks in advance.
