Summary GEICO the second largest auto insurer in the united states, recently announced a third party data leak that has effected its 40,000 employees. The company notified employees that the MOVEit system was compromised "outside of GEICO's internal systems". GEICO uses MOVEit to send data via API to Delta Dental, Cinigia, and many other companies for employee benefits. Several employees have come forward saying that personal information such as Social Security Numbers, Address, Phone, Email, and Address have been found from credit searches on the Dark Web. Several individuals in the r/geico subreddit have claimed that GEICO neglected to protect the data in transit. The company has advised employees to freeze credit. Quotes My thoughts This raises several questions about data security in the industry. Does this matter? In todays age 1 in 4 people will have some kind of identity theft happen. Is it reasonable to assume that all data is already compromised, if so should a company be held responsible at all? Is a company responsible for ensuring the partners they share data with are following proper security standards? Should GEICO be held responsible for sharing employee data with a company not following proper standards? What rights/say should employees have when it comes to who a company shares data with? If a data is compromised in anyway, should employees be able to sue an employer for compensation? Hi everyone During the covid lockdown i've decided to finish an old project of mine i started during my education, but never finished due it is so large and abstract, that even the teachers said 'That will never work'. Now that it soon has all the basic features it's current state, i was then wondering if it's actually relevant or not these days due technology moves so quickly. Eitherway, it was really fun to create and a pain in a..., and would sit nice on my portfolio. What i'm seeking now, is to to hear some oppinons on the solution / idea, and what also could be nice to have in such application or general workflows people seek to shorten in daily day that people miss or wished existed. Disclaimer I'm not a pro, or trying to make advertisement for the product, but general interested in the software solution, potential and ideas for improvements if any. Why did i make this software? A friend of mine had an issue at work, where he had to involve many steps and different tools, solutions, and data sources. The process was long from exporting data from different databases based on request, having different applications, filter the data recieved, combine it with some files from a client and filter it again with a script which he had to write himself, before the result came to live. I've managed to shorten this process to few minutes and saved him some work for repeatable tasks as this.. Intro video website What is this software? The software is a datamanagement tool, to merge data from different data sources together. It allows you to connect all your favorit databases in one single application and fetch data from them and combine them if not converting it inbetween the different databases. The application also support's the typical REST, SOAP (ASMX, SVC) and OData API's and soon WZDL files import. The API's has the same use-case as the database connections with few options also known from the POSTMAN if an database connection is not exposed or you simply don't want to work with an databases in general. When having all the data from either API's, and databases, files can be involved in the progress and merged with different connections to an unique export. If in doubt of files, content or verse versa, a simple comparing tool inbetween files vs files, files vs tables etc can be used. Hi all, I recently started learning Flutter & the video I was watching used the Notion API to get records from the database. However, I was wondering if anyone has added records to the database using the API? As I want to have my expenses app add records to the Notion Database. Hi, for the past 3 or so years i have been fighting with my fans I have 3 original phanteks fans and 2 corsair h100i fans my mobo has 5 fanheaders but i need my aio plugged into 1 of the slots however my h100i allows plugging in 2 fans into it (great ! (not really...)) my current setup is: 3 phanteks fans plugged into asus motherboard controlled using AI Suite 3 2 corsair fans plugged into h100i aio watercooler my issues: coirsair fans are LOUD coirsair software is a piece of **** it never respects my profiles, randomly does random stuff like ramping up and down for no reason (I have stable rpm untill like 80C so it shouldn't) asus software is not terrible... but could be better i want more control fixes: get new fans add more fans to motherboard so i don't have to use h100i and iCUE use https://github.com/Rem0o/FanControl.Releases instead of AI Suite 3 write custom software to make custom event based fan curves or use software above now comes my question and followup, is there something that (preferably open source) can allow me to add let's say 2 or 3 more fans i don't mean a splitter or commander or whatever they are called, i mean a way to add FAN1 FAN2 with their own (different) events/fan curves? just like a motherboard supports i looked up for corsair, they have an API for iCUE which is great, but WHY can't i have custom fan speed, their api only supports colors?? im desperate enough to make my own board/hardware if nothing is available? would create new thread on that, as i have some questions for example my device manager lists "ACPI-Lüfter" (Lüfter = Fan) is there easy way to add more fans to windows/device manager? let's say im lacking in the driver department making a board that can control 10 fans via pwm and writing some software in whatever using serial (better choice?) is pretty easy, software is where stuff is harder but probably borrowing some code from hwmonitor should make it easier, again would make new thread maybe some peeps would get on the board (open source hardware and software, because im tired of iCUE) i tried googling and didn't find a product that can do this pretty easy task let me know what you think !

Oh god I don’t know if this is the right place for this but I really value the info that I get from the Linus Media Group team on YouTube. I work in engineering in a TV/Film post production facility where we rely heavily on Davinci Resolve. We operate over 30 resolve systems across windows, centOS7, and macOS. Our primary workstations are windows. They cooperate better than any other OS with our network storage (NVMe, Isilon) so we put the most effort into windows. That said, we don’t have prores rendering capabilities in windows but many clients require prores deliverables. Our macs are crap and are on their way out, they can’t run the kind of jobs that are coming out of our color suites. so we are relying on remote rendering with Linux and prores resolve licenses. The problem we have is sending jobs from multiple places to headless remote resolve systems, is kind of a basic workflow. We need to have some sort of job queue management or central monitoring window. blackmagic design’s dev team says it’s all possible with the API tools built into resolve 17. It looks promising for sure. But we don’t have anyone who’s confident with python. I can only run basic one liners. There is nothing online or in technical documentation that outlines the practical use of these modules included with resolve, the only thing I could find was a few YouTube videos talking about useless console commands. short of hiring someone experienced in python, is there somewhere to go to learn from the ground up? Or better yet, is there anyone out there reading this that has experience with the Resolve API scripting modules that is willing to have their brain picked a bit? my python experience is basically mindstorms lego 101. That’s it. ive reached out on Reddit and BMD forums but there isn’t anything on the internet about this specific request. Remote render monitoring, or job queue management. Is there any way to access the data from the LTT reviews? I specifically want the data for the Ryzen 7000 review for my stats class, because I find this an interesting topic. Is there any way to access this? I know LTT Labs will soon have a website and data will be available there, but I've been looking around and there are no resources that I can see.

Hello, I have got a small facebook classifieds group with about a hundred users regularly posting items for sale. It has reached some popularity among the locals and it is quite active now. All kinds of items are posted in it and its a bit messy now as the only way to sort the items would be through the keywords you enter in the search. So I had a thought to make a shopping website for having a more organized representation of the items in this group by separating them to different categories. I want the items to be fetched and displayed directly from facebook to my website so I do not have to store them with me and they will be taken out when the publisher deletes it from facebook. I have not attempted something like this before, so im not sure where I should start. I had a look into Facebook's developer tools Graph API. The documentation didnt explain anything on how to go inside a group and search for items. It only shows how to search for group names. Found this other third party API called Facebook4J and that also shows similar examples to that of Graph API. I also saw other options like using an RSS to grab the information but then again I saw comments on them that they do not work anymore as Facebook has changed their policy. What do u think is the best way to achieve this process? Your suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks.

Hey All, I'm trying to build a finance product with python, but to do so I need an API with access to live pricing, TTM EPS and Balance Sheet on global equities markets. So far I've been unable to find one that can do this. 'yfinance' constantly breaks, returning empty dataframes, iexfinance doesn't offer global products etc. etc. Do you guys have a fix to the yfinance problem, or an alternative API for me? I'm a old school C++/Python/Asm programer (started coding back in 86), and I want to write a custom web ui frontend for a python command line backend which handles a renderfarm VM management system. For all the web programmers out there, I have 2 questions: 1. what would you recommend as "best" to write responsive web UIs with dinamic stuff, like Trello/Weekan style drag-and-drop and popups, for example? For "best", I mean the "best visuals" VS "simple and fast to do"! The learning curve and visuals, I think, is the most important for me since right now since I need something that would give me a professional look, and doesn't take days to learn! (I have a lot of stuff to do already... lol...) I'm very used to the way PyQT works for UI's, so if there's a similar framework out there, or even simpler, that would be the best! 2. do you guys known of a simple and fast to write API/Framework for user authenticated (OAUTH) database setup? Basically, I would love to have something that could be easily tied to the UI so it would store the UI Data created by the user automatically. 8P I really hate to deal with SQL/Database queries, so ideally something that would show an OAUTH authentication dialog, and then would store whatever is done in the UI, so the next time the user logins in, the UI is retrieved on the same state, with the same data. Then for the backend, I just need to be able to use Python to easily retrieve the user list and the UI data from each user! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ That's it! Since I'm an old school guy (aka "old man" as my boy calls me! I'm making fetch post requests from the backend of my wix site to the spotify api. it works perfectly in the editor and the api returns an access token, but when I publish the site and try and use it on the live site I get an invalid_grant invalid authorization key error instead. Why might this be? I already verified my permissions are set to allow anyone to call functions from the backend.
