I currently run a 9600k on a z390 mb, and 16g of 3200, that i overcooked to 3600. A friend gifted me he's old ram, after updating. after some experience i can make it run 3000. Is it worth going 32g on 3000, or stay 16g on 3600? Mostly game on the pc

Availability for these RAM sticks are pretty shit where I'm from but basically I have a choice between 3200 mhz cl16 ( Part Number CMG8GX4M1E3200C16 ) and 3600 mhz cl18 ( Part Number CMW16GX4M2D3600C18 ). FYI I'm running a 5700x and still not sure Exactly what to get. Assistance is appreciated

Hi, i just wanted to ask a few questions before i overclock and reconfig my ram, Currently im using G-skill 3600 cl17, i just wanted to ask if its safe to change the CL on my ram and if it will void my warranty, ive already overclocked the ram to 3666 but have been getting very bad fps drops in satisfactory on high or max graphics, going from 140 to sometimes 60 with a 3070 (never used to happen when i 1st started playing the game) and i think this is due to the ram so i wanted to change the latency of my ram and ask if its safe and will improve the performance. Thanks

I bought a second ram kit and it was 3200mhz and I had a 3600mhz kit already so I overclocked then to 3600mhz with 18-22-22-42 timings and it glitches my graphics card driver and crashes it to a black screen then it goes back to normal. It crashes any 3d application that is on screen. Youtube, twitch, a game, anything that needs a graphic drivers. I for now have clocked the ram to 3200mhz at the same timing's and they work completely fine no crashes. I would like my ram to be at the 3600mhz if anyone knows whats wrong with my system.

DDR4-3600MHz CL16-18-19-37-55 vs DDR4-3800MHz CL18-19-19-38-57 Its quite safe to say the 3600MHz is faster but the 3800MHz will gain more from FCLK so what would work better?

So I have been having problems with my XMP settings, I recently upgrading my GPU and memory, memory from 16gb Adata 2666mhz ram to 32gb 3600mhz corsair vengeance, This corsair vengeance ram is my second pair because the first pair that I bought was faulty and broke windows every time I tried to boot it up so I went to the store and got a free replacement and it was good from there. The thing is every time I turn on XMP it breaks windows and says "Your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart, we'll restart for you" and goes into a diagnosing your pc loop, luckily I created a system restore point so I was able to fix it but I have tried many different solutions to try and enable XMP and nothing worked. It seems that my memory doesn't go above 2133mhz, My motherboard is Gigabyte Aorus b450 Pro motherboard and I realise that the motherboard can only support 3466mhz but I though that if I turn on XMP it will automatically downscale to 3466mhz. I tried to set it manually with 3466mhz and tighter timing and 1.35 volts but it didn't work, my old ram was comfortably able to work at 2666mhz but this ram can only go 2133mhz. I have tried looking for solution everywhere and nothing worked. I am not that great with computers so if you told me to slowly rise speed with looser timings, I wouldn't know what I'm doing. I don't know if this information helps but I have a Ryzen 5 2600. i hope someone out there can give me a good rundown on how to fix this issue because I bought 3600mhz ram and I can't even use it to it's full potential. I hope I gave enough information and I will provide more information if necessary. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this and I hope I can get this problem fixed!

Hi, I have 5600X and thinking to upgrade my Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3200mhz C16 to G.Skill Trident Z 3600mhz C18? I know both latencies will be similar but will extra frequency add value? thanks.

Recently built first pc and had issues now VGA red light on and won’t boot PC: 5800x corsair lpx 32gb 3600mhz c18 palit 3080 gamingpro corsair rm850w gold psu msi mag b550 tomahawk cooler scythe fuma 2 kingston a200 1tb ssd all issues: 1.got small amount of thermal paste on cpu pins wiped some off with kitchen roll, thermal paste was non conductive 2.stupidly tried to boot pc without cou cooler on for only a few seconds 3.RAM running at 2666mhz instead of rated 3600mhz a. tried a-xmp profile 1 & 2: didn’t work b. tried setting d-ram frequency to 3600mhz: wouldn’t boot windows just returned to bios at 2666mhz tried different settings such as memory try it with 3600mhz and same timings as a-xmp: didn’t work reset to 3600mhz weeks later i attempted this again i slowly increased the d-ram frequency gradually (with everything else set to auto) only booting into bios not windows and it was working this way, when i reached 3600mhz it wouldn’t boot into windows so i lowered it to 3300mhz and it booted into windows (not sure if placebo but seemed like opening tabs and apps seemed slower) this worked alright until i tried to load valorant launcher and it turned off, turned my pc back on and tried again then computer started to make siren noise and screen went black but could still hear yt video i was watching in background, i turned the pc off with the power button and rebooted into bios and RAM was reset to 2666mhz. booted into windows fine all seemed good but pc crashed when left idle and entered sleep mode finally bringing us to today. played some games with relatives and all seemed good, ran userbenchmark and my pc crashed. rebooted and re ran it filming the operating it crashed once again and i saw it was as soon as it began to benchmark my gpu. rebooted pc and loaded into battlefield 4 and had no issues was running as expected msi afterburned showed gpu usage not getting above 75 ish %, closed bf4 opened internet browser and started watching yt and had msi afterburner up on second monitor which showed gpu usage at 0% during video after 10 mins of this i pressed my spacebar to pause video and the screen went black. tried to turn pc back on but wouldn’t boot with the gpu fans spinning but the vga red light on. re seated gpu and same situation. thank you if you made it this far im sorry for my immense stupidity and seeming lack of care i don’t know why i do the stupid things i do but please if anyone can help me i would be eternally great full. absolutely any help would amazing

TeamGroup 8pack vs Crucial Ballistix Help?!
CriSis_ posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hey, I put a thread out earlier loosely talking about these memory kits as I cannot decide between the two or find another kit besides them. I am pairing the memory with a 5900x and b550-e and have a budget of £200. Initially I was going for Trident Z Neo but due to the UKs lack of stock and extreme pricing they are out of my reach. Also, to clarify, I already have the rest of my pc components and this is the final piece to complete the build. I also do require 32gb due to my workload and am aware of the memory sweet spot when it comes to Ryzen https://www.overclockers.co.uk/team-group-8pack-edition-32gb-2x16gb-ddr4-pc4-28800c16-3600mhz-dual-channel-kit-my-002-8p.html https://uk.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/bl2k16g36c16u4wl I already know that the crucial kit is decent but I will have to play a lottery when it comes to getting a dual rank kit (not to be mistaken with dual channel) and so I took one last look and found the TeamGroup kit. Does anybody have first hand experience with this kit? Or even another kit they could recommend? Or perhaps I play the lottery and buy the crucial? Sorry for posting a similar thing again but I believe the way I worded my previous thread lead to some confusion , Thanks for the help in advance, Stay safe, Lex. -
Hey guys, I recently decided to upgrade my system, so I bought motherboard, memory, m.2 nvme ssd and used cpu. Everything seems to be working well, but I can't enable XMP on my new memory. Everytime I play with the frequencies or timings I get blue screen or memory errors. My hardware: CPU: Ryzen 3900XT (Used) RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX Black DDR4-RAM 3600 MHz 2x 16 GB 64GB in total (Brand new) Motherboard: MSI MEG B550 UNIFY Gaming Motherboard ATX-AMD AM4 Ryzen 5000 Ready (Brand new) SSD: Sabrent 2TB Rocket NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 Internal SSD (Brand new) GPU: MSI ARMOR GTX 1060 (From old system) PSU: Corsair RM750 (From old system) Cooler: AIO Corsair H100i V2 (From old system) Things I tried to fix this problem: Update BIOS. Tried 2 different BIOS versions. Tried to use XMP1 and XMP2 profiles. Tried to manualy tune the memory using DRAM calculator. System didn't boot after that, had to use CMOS Tried to lower the frequency, I could boot at 3200Mhz but the system wasn't stable. Memtest showed some errors. Is it normal that XMP profiles doesn't work? Do I need to buy better memory or is it my motherboard causing all those problems? Thanks for your help! References:

Hey, It's been 20+ years since I last build and used a desktop so rusty AF. Regardless I'd like to get every bit of performance out of the CPU. i9-11900K Gigabyte Vision D Z590 Rev 0.0 Gigabyte RTX 3070 Vision G. Skill F4-3600C14Q-32GTZNA 1.45v Corsair H150i Capellix 360mm AIO Corsair RM850x PSU That's about covers the important tidbits, but now what? Anyone with this board and/or CPU that did some OC? Going to need a step by step guide. So hopefully there are people that actually want to help as I want to give it my all but have to start all over since it's been too long. No memory and GPU oc, only the CPU. Regards,

Hello there , My motherboard is Asrock Z490 Taichi with Core I9-10900K So yesterday i bought Thermaltake Toughram 3600mhz DDR4 (8x4GB) ram but unfortunately its out of stock for corona pandemic in my country. So they gave me two options either refund or take the Gigabyte Aorus 3600mhz (8x4GB) ram but its not my Motherboard QVL list. Should i go for Aorus 3600mhz ? I don't know their quality. Thanks for helping.

After being stuck for years now with dual-core Haswell/Broadwell laptops, I finally want to upgrade to a decent Workstation (Software Development and occasionally some CPU+RAM intensive image processing tasks). I've laid my eyes on Zen3, specifically a Ryzen 5900X. For reliability and peace-of-mind reasons, I want to spend the extra money for ECC UDIMMs. Just a small problem: that Processor would very much prefer 3600 MHz RAM. I failed searching for sold-as-3600-MHz ECC UDIMMs. I hope to find some suggestions that are better than "take cheap ECC UDIMM sticks, transplant memory chips from binned 3600 MHz gaming non-ECC UDIMMs". I theoretically would be able to handle/organize the necessary reballing, but I'd much prefer to just OC some known-suitable factory-fresh ECC UDIMMs, or buy binned ones if there is a decent source. I was hoping to get a pair of 32 GiB sticks at first, and buy a second pair in a few months if RAM ever got tight. The rest of the system should get watercooling, and I'm not picky for asthetics. I'd consider coating everything but the black top of the dies and the edge contacts that go into the socket with conformal coating, and just flow water around the sticks (with direct contact to where the heat spreader of gaming RAM would contact the memory chips). Does a 5900X actually handle 64 or even 128 GiB RAM at 3600 MHz? I was hoping/wishing for CL16, but CL18 would be an option if the price difference signficantly surpasses the performance difference. I know overclocking and maximum reliability don't really combine, but that just means I won't push the infinity fabric too hard and keep an eye out for ECC errors (in case I need to relax timings/frequency or increase voltage). If 3600 MHz CL16 is too much for a 5900X if one cares about reliability, please let me know.

Hello guys, I was wondering about which RAM should I get. I was thinking about G. Skill Trident Z Neo 2x8gb 3600Mhz cl16 or Patriot Viper Steel 2x8gb 4000MHz. Is it worth to buy Patriot 4000MHz B - die and OC it? What's your thoughts? I'm curently waiting black friday, because I wanted to buy 3700x or 5600x with B550 Tomahawk. Because there is no 5600x in stock and and it won't be for the black friday should I get 3700x because it will be on discount for sure or wait for the 5600x to get in the stock? Help :d

Hi, I still need to get RAM for my Ryzen 3600, I will use either B550 MSI Carbon Gaming Wifi or B550 Asus ROG Strix E-Gaming. I got a Noctua nh-d15s from my friend and its huge, would like to use it with 2 fans if I upgrade to ryzen 3900x/5900 later on. I would like to get 32GB and later on upgrade to 64GB, I do alot of RAW editing/photoshopping. My options from 3600MHz 1.Kingston 32GB (2 x 16GB) HyperX FURY DDR4, 3600MHz, CL18, 1.35V (HX436C18FB4K2/32) 2.Corsair 32GB (2 x 16GB) Vengeance LPX, DDR4 3600MHz, CL18, 1.35V (CMK32GX4M2D3600C18) OR (CMK32GX4M2Z3600C18) 3.Kingston 32 GB (2 x 16GB) HyperX Predator, DDR4 3600MHz, CL17, 1.35V (HX436C17PB3K2/32) I've narrowed G.Skill Ripjaws and some G.Skills out because they are higher, and might not work with noctua with dual fans.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @ 4.9GHz CPU Cooler: Corsair iCUE H100i RGB Pro XT Motherboard: ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (4x8gb) GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT SE Sapphire NITRO+ 16GB Here are my steps I have taken: - Enabled the default D.O.C.P. profile [PC Fails to Boot] - Did the above BUT manually set it to 3600MHz [PC Fails to Boot] - Disabled D.O.C.P. putting to "Auto" and Manually adjust memory speed to 3600MHz [PC Fails to Boot] - Updated BIOS to lasted BIOS [Same issue still occurs. Conclusion: I cannot get my RAM to reach 3600MHz or Higher no matter what I do. Everything MUST RUN on Auto or it doesn't work at all. I am not understanding what I am doing wrong or what could be the problem. My computer runs like a dream, but the memory not running 3600MHz bugs me.

Help! I originally had Corsair Vengence Pro - 2x8gb/3600Mh i added 2 more sticks of ram - same specks. so now I have 32gb/3600mh (4x8) I keep getting BSOD unless I turn of D.O.C.P and don’t run it at 3600 so now I’m stuck running at 2133 or something. MOBO - ROG X570-F CPU - AMD 5800X GPU - MSI Suprim X 3080 PSU - H1000X RAM - 32gb (4 x 8) 3600Mhrz I’ve had many error codes so I honestly don’t remember them but they change each time and the system doesn’t stay running for longer than 5mins and the Windows “encounters a problem and needs to restart” but it just ends up being in a loop doing this until I turned of DOCP and just had it running Auto at 2133. did I do something wrong? I honestly though it was just a “slot in and go” situation

Been running my 9700k with 3600 mhz memory with XMP enabled. I thought that setting it would be a plug & play thing (which is what I did for almost a year) but doing a bit of research i've come to know that my motherboard (Asus Prime Z370-a) raised the VCCIO and VCCSA voltage to pretty high levels which is not recommended. What the heck Asus? are you trying to kill my cpu? I hope this hasn't degraded my cpu lifespan significantly. Here are the voltage numbers:

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if its just a different unit of measurement im not as familiar with or is my ram super slow for some reason. Ive enabled X.M.P and speeds are set to 3600 did I potentially do something wrong or is there more I need to do? My system still seems to run great just want to get the full potential of my hardware that I can. Cam software is showing all 4 sticks as: G.Skill F4-3600oc18-8gtzrx DDR4 Frequency: 1066mhz Type: ddr4 Timings: 15 - 15 - 15 - 36

Greetings LTT Forum, This is my first post here on the forum so I'm sorry if it's not in the right caregory but i think this should be the right one. Anyhow, to my question: I'm mostly playing Rust and i know it's a game that isn't optimized at it's finest, but I'm only getting avg 60-80fps and my duo I'm playing with is getting avg 80-110fps when we are on the same server, same position looking at the same direction. To my knowledge (Maybe I'm wrong idk) we should have around the same performance? So I'm wondering, what could i do to make my computer push slightly higher frames? I coudn't help noticing that almost every TimeSpy test with similar spec is running faster ram, from 3200 to 4200Mhz. Could my computer get a slight boost if i purchase something like Kingston 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL17. I don't think i need the 32GB that i have right now since I'm only gaming and I'm running maximum of 10 tabs on chrome when browsing hence why I'm looking for faster 16gb sticks. Iam willing to spend anything for a slight performance boost or is my CPU just old and outdated and i need to swap everything? And no, I'm not limited by thermals and i keep the computer free from dust at all times. My Timespy test: https://www.3dmark.com/spy/27345191 Comparison: https://www.3dmark.com/compare/spy/27345191/spy/24784404/spy/22999205/spy/23116898/spy/25941686/spy/25570781# My friends spec: Ryzen 5 5600X, RX 6700 XT, Corsair DDR4 3600MHz. My spec: i9 9900K, RTX 3070 LHR, Corsair DDR4 2666MHz. Thanks in advance Sincerely, Ice
