I recently won an s22 ultra from the DBrand giveaway, I've heard the s22 can't do 8k @30fps. But why? I know the s21 ultra can, why not the s22? Thanks

I need a gpu that is capable of running every game atm(excluding really difficult/unoptimised ones like Mafia 3) at 30fps medium settings or better @ 1080p. Power consumption is a factor, but being cheap outweighs that unless it is a really hot and demanding card (450w psu). it can be used or new, but as cheap as possible. the idea is to not kill a console but perform slighly better with all the benefits of a pc. any suggestions?

I'm not one of those people who consider anything under 60 FPS unplayable. I'm more than happy to trade FPS for higher settings on most games. Hell, I'm running ROTTR with all settings on Ultra with a locked 40 FPS and that suits me just fine, however, while playing around with Rivatuner, I set the FPS cap to 30. Oh lordy, the nausea I got from that! I literally felt ill! I don't suffer from sea or car sickness, but the flicker you get with 30 FPS takes me on a express ride to vomitville. Once I get past 35 FPS the nausea goes away. So I guess that 35 FPS is my bare minimum for gaming. Anyone else has this problem?

I am looking for an indoor wireless IP camera that can do up to 1080p @ 30fps. I plan to use it as a security/pet camera. I want the storage to be local (no subscriptions) and any streaming will be done with a VPN. I have an unraid server where I can store the video feeds and I think blue iris (in a VM) might be a good solution to manage these. I will accept any advice on a camera model that will have stable performance and managing software (the cheaper the better) to go with it.

Hi, i just bought a MSI 2080 ti gaming X trio, and after setting all up for it, overclocking my 1440p monitor at 160Hz, making it detect by the OS and the NVidia control panel and everything...when i fire up BF1, Destiny 2, BF4, FarCry 4 and 5 (those are the titles I tested) the FPS counter never crosses 50 or so, staying always around 35 and 40, with all the above listed games. I have already tried all the different settings in every game, i turned on and off G-sync, both in the display itself and the software, i scaled resolution, i removed FPS caps, and even reinstalled some games...but nothing. I have to say that i have a FX-8320E as CPU, and i know it's a bit old, but it's overclocked at 4GHz without problems and while in game never gets used more than 80%, so i think it can't be the bottleneck...i don't know a ton about the work that te motherboard (is a M5A97 EVO R2.0 by ASUS) is supposed to do in order to feed with data the GPU, may that be the problem, cause the motherboard is 5 years old like the CPU too! There is one more thing to add, i still have windows 7...and i know, before someone criticise me that i had to upgrade all the pc and not only investing 1400$ on the GPU, but that has sense to me because the whole machine will get and upgrade in some months, and i really needed a new GPU cause i'm working with tensorflow and the 2080 ti was really appealing to me cause of it's tensorcores...those are the only things right now which seems to work fine, since the GPU is eating data perfectly...but still i can't game in my spear time! If you need more data let me know! HELP PLEAS...i'm getting mad looking at 30FPS in "2K"!

Has anyone figured out the real reason why cutscenes in almost all games stutter? It doesn't seem like a "lack of hardware performance" related issue. I've seen a post where someone was complaining about this issue even on a TITAN V graphics card. How is it possible game developers don't notice this during beta testing? If it only happens on PC's... can't Nvidia offer a driver based solution? This would be a great topic on for an upcoming Linus Tech Tips.

Hi guys,I game on my laptop and I couldn't overclock the internal monitor.I have spare HD monitor and recently(yesterday) overclocked it from 60hz to 75hz(wont go anymore higher). I don't see much of an improvement(people say higher refresh rate is quite noticeable).I have a low end discrete gpu in my lap and can play latest titles at 30-45 fps @ medium settings.I could play at more than 60fps if I choose Low settings but I don't like playing games at absolute low settings. My question is at 30-45fps range, does higher refresh rate matter? P.S-I played rise of the tomb raider at 75 hz and I usually play with a controller. I think I found aiming and shooting a little bit smoother tbh but i dont really know if it is really became little smooth coz of the refresh rate or my mind playing tricks on me.What I'm saying is It's not a night and day difference. The monitor is definitely running at 75hz.I did the ufo and frame skipping tests.

I have been trying to get my Element E4ST4316H (naturally 4K) TV to display 1080P for my PC. The main reason I want to do this is that it only puts out at 30FPS at 3840 x 2160. I know this is not a limitation on my PC, because I have put out at 60fps at 1920 x 1080 when fullscreen in some games. I have desktop display settings set to 1920 x 1080 and have already checked the NVIDIA control panel. I know its the TV itself, as whenever I go fullscreen in some games, the TV's overlay changes to 1080p/ 60Hz versus the desktop's 3840 x 2160/30Hz. Also, whenever I click on the "Info" button on the remote, it shows the overlay as 3840 x 2160/30Hz. Anyone

I'm looking for a low end laptop that'll do 30fps at low settings and 720p for most games. Any suggestions?

Ok, so how, if the original PS4 was released in late 2013 (essentially 2014) and can only do 1080p 30fps, does sony not three years later release (not released yet, but soon) a console that boasts 4k 30fps at the same price as the original console? What is going on here?

CS:GO locking at 30fps in Win10 annaversairy update
Bananasplit_00 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
So after i upgraded to the windows 10 annaversairy update(the day it dropped because thats when i reinstalled windows on my new SSD lol) i have had ocational problems with CS:GO locking at 30fps but that usiually just required a restart of the game but that has just gotten way worse, i dont know what to do. i have restarted the game several times, i have verified the game cashe and tried varius things in the ingame console and nothing has worked yet, not sure what the problem is but i have heard other people complaining about this and i hope someone has a fix, so what do i do about this? thanks for any replies and any help -

Hi all, Just got (hopefully) a quick question. I plan on recording some footage (using OBS) for YouTube (games and shizzle). The predicament I have is that I'm running at 1360 x 768, (the manufacturers website says the native resolution is 1366 x 768, but windows detects it at 1360 x 768, I'll play about to see if there is a noticeable difference). My question is, (providing there is no noticeable difference in quality) out of 1360 x 768 or 1366 x 768, which would the easiest be to downtscale to 720p (1280 x 720, pretty confident you assumed that already though) at either 25 or 30fps (ideally 30 if my system can handle it, it can play at 60fps stable, but I haven't done a whole lot of testing to see the impact of recording). What software would you suggest to downscale it? Would downscaling it result in weird artefacts, and if so, would it be better to accept some clipping (or 2-3px black bars) to maintain decent aspect ratio? Hopefully I'm making myself clear. I would rather do the downscaling on my side where I have full control rather than letting YouTube run rampant. Thanks, MJBYTTV P.S. Come April 2016 I will be upgrading my computer and monitor so this won't be an issue.

My older brother said that i should get a build with a i7-4690k, two 980 ti's in sli (whatever that is)and 12 gb of ram and a GA-Z97X-gaming. I am new to this pc building thing. i am going to use my tv that i run my xbox 360 on so i don't want it to look to good, otherwise it might brake the tv as it is bad. i just want to be able to run minecraft at 30fps as that is the highest i have ever seen on Minecraft and i heard that eyes dont see above that so iam fine with that. i have money to spare if you dont think this will get to 30fps as the xbox 360 is quite a good console. The rest of the specs my brother said were not important.

Hi guys! I’m a new PC gamer switching from console for like a month. Currently being very satisfied with my 4790k+970 and definitely do not regret joining the PC master race lol. But there are some problems which I cannot understand no matter how hard I google it, its the 30fps battle between console and PC. Yes, 30fps is crap, but when I game on console 30fps it feels a lot smoother than PC cap 30fps, for example, shadow of mordor/GTA….PC 30fps just feel extremely laggy for me. Oh, I run both console gaming on the same monitor, asus mx279h. I heard somebody saying that its the matter of motion blur, I have turned motion blur to the highest yet still a lot lagger than console gaming. I then realized it’s about the monitor refresh rate. For example, I tried running GTA5 in 50fps in both 50hz and 60hz scenarios. 50fps GTA5 feels a lot smoother in 50hz than that of 60hz. I then wonder if 30fps gaming on 60hz monitor feels a lot lagger. While I do not understand how console gaming makes gaming at 30fps smoother because console should not be changing the monitor refresh rate from 60 to 30hz right? I also heard of people praising the godly g-sync technology, they say 30fps gaming on a g-sync monitor as silky smooth. I currently play PC games on my 60hz 1080p asus vx279h and whenever the frame rate drops below 60fps it feels very laggy. Like when the fps drops from 60 to 57 it feels very lag for me. (v-sync is on to prevent screen tearing) Thanks guys! So far being very pleased with PC gaming, gaming at 60fps is irreversible, I am not able to play GTA5 on my ps4 anymore haha. And my english is bad if you guys do not understand at all I will try hard to explain. Cheers guys.

Well, well what do we have here bioshock infinite on a retina macbook pro running at 30 fps or above constant indeed we do cotton, indeed we do note: As for settings texture detail and quality are at ultra. All other settings are running at minimum or off.It sucks but the fps gods demanded sacrifices Anyway, I think you will find that your eyes quite like what they see. it should be noted this running at 720p as opposed to native resolution as the fps gods requested. Here lie proof

So I understand that many games on console are locked to 30fps so why don't they stutter when the lowest refresh rate at TV/monitor will go to is 60Hz. Surely if the monitor is refreshing twice as fast as the console can push why doesn't the game stutter at all? When you play on PC and you drop below the refresh rate of your monitor you get stuttering so why noI on console?

Hey everyone. I just purchased LA Noire after remembering how much I enjoyed it on my xbox and to keep me anticipated for GTA V. I have found something strange and am a bit unsure, would you mind helping me a little? In the settings I have chosen to run everything on max and the resolution at 1920x1080x60 <------- this is one of my problems. I chose the 60 fps option but the game seems to be syncing to 30 fps. I have been looking for an option to disable it but can not find it. Has the game got a v-sync option or is it locked at 30fps? If it is a lock at 30, why is it locked? (I'm sure there is a good reason as I don't think Rockstar would lock it without one) Also, if it is a lock, why give us the option to run the game at 60fps or higher if you choose a lower resolution? Thanks for your help.

i accidentally found these "test" videos on netflix, i just searched 60 and found 3 videos that seem to be for testing 60 fps playback on the windows 8 netflix app.kinda find it funny how it just says "this is a test." over and over again in the description. and it does seems to be 60fps when the video starts to load more which only took me like 10 seconds idk i just found this interesting and though someone else might have thought so too, so ima post screen shots of what i saw

Link: Eurogamer Article on Digital Foundry Case If people want to play at 30FPS, please go right ahead, but if my system handles it, then 60FPS is the way I want to play it! Funny thing is, it's never been easier to recode for PC as the hardware is near identical now, that's why it's so obvious now. Additionally, PCs have been playing games at 60FPS for 20+ years now, the only reason this is a thing now is because two console manufacturers undershot their performance of their hardware and don't want to lose sales. That article from the Digital Foundry is a bunch of BS, regardless of what statistics or tech resources they show about current game design versus hardware. Why should the lowest performance hardware, dictate the highest performance hardware? If your stance is like Sony and M$'s, then all GAMES should limit their graphics to the level of Mobile Phones. Yeah, I didn't think so! This may be the last Gen of Consoles ever. M$ can bleed money, but their investors almost had them to get rid of the console dept before this gen released. If they don't pick it up, that wont happen again. I mean, Head of Xbox Japan "Takashi Sensui" has just resigned thanks to poor Xbox One sales in Japan. As far as Sony, they can't afford to keep losing money every year, the PS4 almost didn't happen, the PS4 also isn't doing as well as PS3 did and probably never will, so don't be surprised if they axe their dept over the next few years either. Nintendo was in hot water, everyone sees them as the ultimate Software only company, while they're doing well again now, they were in dark waters for a while. They will eventually go that route and be successful because they actually focus on 1st party titles and have taken this opportunity to make sales while M$ and Sony keep stacking bad PR. M$ and Sony have slowly got more and more into the tug of war over 3rd party titles, which is why it's bleeding over into the PC market and WE DON'T LIKE IT! If they want to destroy their own markets, that's perfectly fine with me, but they need to stay the hell out of PC Gaming, all they do is stifle technology, as if it wasn't already bad enough!

Basically this Ubisoft dev is saying that it's "too hard" to achieve 60FPS and "you don't gain much" from the higher frame rate. I would recommend reading the whole article, if I put the whole thing here it would be a shameless copy and paste. Source: http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/viva-la-resoluci-n-assassin-s-creed-dev-thinks-industry-is-dropping-60-fps-standard-1268241 There is only one word to describe this guy: fuckwit

"I suspect a lot of people think we may have compromised the gameplay experience by choosing 30fps, but we've spent a huge amount of time minimising the latency between the pad and what happens inside the game so you never feel disconnected." insert facepalm here http://kotaku.com/driveclub-is-30fps-for-the-same-reason-other-games-are-1597731142

Just curious, what would you guys pick? Just vote, and if you have the time tell us what you chose and explain why you chose that. You have 1 choice out of 2... - 720p w/h 60 Frames per second. OR... - 1080p w/h 30 Frames per second.

Apologies if this has been posted, search came up with nothing. http://tinyurl.com/TheCrew30fps (link was extremely long) Quoting from community manager Ubi-Valentin; Hopefully this isn't another NFS:R situation and the physics aren't locked at 30fps. This is just incredibly stupid either way. This is such an backwards way to make games and I'm not sure how developers keep doing this. Glad you're so dedicated to PC gaming, Ubisoft. EDIT: http://tinyurl.com/TheCrewUpdate (thanks killz2much) They're adding a 60fps option! Good on Ubi for responding to the backlash.
