Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Cyberpunk 2077, Starfield, VR games (Valve Index), and media. I don't play any competitive games nor fast paced FPS's Other details: My current PC is a Lenovo P72 laptop. CPU: Xeon E-2176M RAM: 128GB (4*32GB DDR4 SDRAM PC4-21300) GFX: Quadro P4200 with Max-Q Design I have a Razer Core X Chroma on the way and I'm planning on purchasing a graphics card to use with it for now and eventually to put into a tower I'll be assembling next year. The laptop has a 4K display but my only current external "monitors" are a couple TV's. One is a 47" Toshiba 47L6200 (1080P) and the other is a Samsung UN58NU7100 (4K). I'm fine with gaming at 1080P but I'm tired of the occasional slideshow that is Starfield when running at 720P and all low settings. I'd be targeting 60 hz/fps since that's the max to my current monitors although I may get a proper gaming monitor in the future with a higher refresh rate. I'd like to be able to use the graphics card for a few years with medium quality settings. I'd really like to have some nice eye candy with ray tracing so I'm picking Nvidia over AMD. My current options for graphics cards are: $600 CAD - used EVGA 3080 FTW3 (unknown background) $750 CAD - used EVGA 3080 Ti FTW3 Ultra. used to mine Ethereum for 6 months in a professional set up, utilizing server cases and high end room temperature control. Temperatures of cards were closely monitored. Upgraded thermal pads professionally installed. $845 CAD - new Gigabyte Windforce 4070 Given I'm in British Columbia I'm not overly concerned about the cost of electricity but I do like the efficiency of the 4070 just for using it within the Razer Core X Chroma. Should I get the new card and avoid any issues due to being used for mining? I can afford all of these cards but I've been unable to determine what the real hazards are due to cards being used for crypto mining and the comparisons I've found put all three cards in pretty similar spots.

Hello, I'm having a few issues with an ebay 3080ti. The temps seem way too high even with the side panel off, the card becomes very hot very quickly. On top of this there are quite a lot of crashes in several games. Hogwarts, Last of us and Cyberpunk crash quite often, Last of us is a buggy game but Hogwarts and cyberpunk used to run with out issues. I tried Dying Light 2 and this is what gave the temps below, this was from gaming around 10 mins so not very long. This is coming from a 3070, it seems quite unstable on the 3080ti. My power supply is fine a Corsair 850W. From what I have been told it wasn't a mining card but just used on regular games etc. At this point is it worth just returning it?

I might just be too head deep in looking around and trying to compare cards at this point that I'd appreciate some help/advice. My situation is that I'm playing to get a Bigscreen Beyond VR headset and my current graphics card (GTX 1080 Ti) is too old as it doesn't have DSC. So I've been looking into newer 3000 and 4000 RTX cards. For VRAM I know I'm looking at at minimum 10GB, as 8GB just doesn't cut it these days. Here's my current spec for context: Current Parts: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700G 8core ~3.8GHz GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti 11GB VRAM, 8GB Shared memory RAM: 8x2 DDR4 Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B550-F Gaming (no wifi) PSU: EVGA 650 GQ 80+ Gold Currently my 1080 Ti is able to keep up surprisingly well with my current VR headset, the Valve Index (1440x1600 per eye at up to 144Hz). games such as Half-Life: Alyx, VRChat, Boneworks, Skyrim VR, and Into the Radius all run at, at worst acceptably, and usually/best without a problem, with only the occasional classic VRChat lag experience here or there. The only reason why I am getting a new card is due to the hardware constraint of the 1000 series cards not supporting DSC(Display Stream Compression). Hopefully if everything doesn't go terribly wrong I'll be able to resell the 1080 Ti to make up for some costs. But that's beside the point. Question 1: I have searched for so many places to find reliable GPU comparison places. All that I have been able to find before I just got burnt out has been the advice that userbenchmark.com is not to be trusted. Which is half of an answer, if there isn't a site to be trusted, is there one that is at least somewhat useful? Or am I better off going to forums like here to get help and feedback? Which brings me to my second question. Question 2: MSI's RTX 3060 Ventus 3x 12GB GPU (newegg link) has caught my eye because of the 12GB of VRAM and the starting price of $300 USD new. I've checked and my PSU is compatible with the card, I am slightly unsure on the PCI Express 4.0 spec of the GPU when compared to the motherboard which when you look at the specs on Asus's website or its Amazon page (the exact page I ordered it from at the time) I believe that the top PCI slot (in sliver) is compatible at 4.0. But I have heard mixed messages on its performance in VR. Especially when factoring in the spec of the Beyond headset (5120x2560 per eye at up to 90Hz), would this 3060 be able to keep up with the headset and the games I'll be using for it? I have been also looking around the 3080 Ti series level as well since I've heard that line get decent praise, but at over twice the price (newegg link with a sweaty amount of filters applied) of the 3060's I'm finding, these 3080 Ti's are starting lowest at $730 USD, refurbished at that. I am very open to other cards that people suggest, I however would prefer to stay with an Nvidia card for the sake of better compatibility with VR headsets and less niche troubleshooting. tl;dr: Question 1: Any good sites to compare GPU's? Or is here/reddit better? Question 2: Would the RTX 3060 12GB be powerful enough to do VR with a Bigscreen Beyond VR headset? Would the 3080 Ti be better, even when factoring in the +2x price jump? I am very open to other card suggestions as well, although I would prefer to stay with Nvidia for compatibility reasons with the Index and Beyond headsets.

Hi LTT forums I'm still trying to think of what might have started this, but nothing comes to mind. Within the past 30 days, my computer has started having programs crash more and more frequently. At first I just thought it was Chrome being weird, because I often had a stream chat website open that was buggy. But that issue stopped and I started to close Chrome before entering games -- no luck. Fortnite is very irregular with the crashes, sometimes I don't make it to the lobby and other times I can play until I'm bored. Minecraft crashes too. I updated my drivers and ran Windows update, I followed advice from a few articles and did sfc /scannow which found a number of errors and fixed them. I thought the issue might just be Fortnite at one point, but since Minecraft has started to crash I no longer believe that is the case. I haven't changed my hardware recently, but I'm using a 2600X @ 4GHz with 32GB of RAM (ddr4 3200, passed all checks I ran), 500gb samsung ssd, 2TB + 6TB hdds, 3080 Ti and Windows 11. I plan on building a new PC soon, but that's a month or two out. It's probably just my install of Windows 11 going to trash, but any thoughts are appreciated.

Summary An alarming amount of user reports have emerged on Reddit and the Blizzard forums, claiming that the Diablo IV beta is bricking the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. The Diablo 4 team are investigating these reports of RTX 3080 Ti graphics cards crashing or dying while playing the game's closed beta. Customer support says Blizzard is "working closely with NVIDIA to identify affected hardware configurations and gather as many data points as possible to assist in the investigation." Quotes My thoughts It appears this is another New World killing RTX 3090 GPU scenario. Although, in the case of New World, EVGA claimed it was poor soldering on a batch of cards and when running at extremely high frame rates; is what was resulting in card failures. So it's possible in the case of Diablo IV bricking or killing GPUs, it's a similar sequence of events; where the game is simply exposing a weakness that may have already been present in the affected cards. JayzTwoCents reported on this first, making a video about it yesterday. He took to Twitter, where he said "If you were denied a @GIGABYTEUSA warranty for your 30 series GPU failure please reach out to me at jayztwocents@gmail.com so we can start putting together data. Thanks!" He doesn't mention what he plans to do with the data, however, this tweet was only made today in the afternoon. It seems since then a few more news outlets have picked up the story. According to PC Gamer, Blizzard is working with NVIDIA to diagnose the issue and hopefully prevent it from happening in the future. As of now, according to data published by Tom's Hardware, a total of 18 cards have been affected by this issue. If you plan on playing the open Beta, maybe hold off until more info is given. I know the beta is only for 3 days, however, it seems that other people besides 3080 Ti owners have also been affected. Therefore, it's better to be cautious in the mean time. I will update this thread as more info comes along. In the mean time, you can simply Google "Diablo IV Killing 3080 Ti" or "Diablo IV Bricking 3080 Ti" to see all the threads posted on various forums regarding this. Hello ! Recently I received my new graphics card, but notice that I do not have the performance that I should have. I had them, for like, 1 day, then problem of start on problem of start, I updated my pc to windows 11 thinking of solving the problem (a clean DDU driver reinstal did not work). I feel like my card is stuck. If it is used at almost 100% on the benchmarks, I am only at 30/35 max in games. I know what you are going to tell me: a game does not use the GPU at 100%. True, but I have 90/100 fps on overwatch, 120 fps maximum on ghostrunner without rtx on, and there is more example. (on the other hand i have 4889 of score on Unigine heaven Benchmark, with ultra settings and 2560x1080, bcs i'm on 21:9) My config : - rtx 3080 ti suprim x - i7 9700k - 32 Go DDR4 corsair vengeance 4300 MHz - AS Rock z390 Pro4 Thx for the future help.

So my current gpu (RTX 2070 Super Founders Edition) is starting to have issues and I’ve been wanting to upgrade for a while now so I’m finally pulling the trigger. However I cannot decide which gpu to get. I play at 1080p. I will be buying from a scalper because I don’t really have a choice. My two options are an RTX 3070 Ti Founders Edition for $900 cash, or an EVGA FTW3 Ultra Gaming RTX 3080 Ti for $1700. I can afford the 3080 Ti but I’m having a hard time justifying spending that much on a graphics card. I do want to point out that the MSRP of the EVGA card is $1430 so it’s a $270 markup, and the 3070 Ti is $600 so it would be a $300 markup. What are your guys thoughts on which one I should get?

Running New world has been in particular sketchy with high power draw cards. Most of the cards that have died seem to be the high end nVidia aftermarket cards with 3 PCI-e 8-pin power connectors. I received my 3080 Ti MSI Suprim X earlier this month and my intention is to play New World with it. I logically was quite uneasy after hearing the reports of similar cards being fried by high power spikes blowing out the power stages. With this in mind I have gone to the steps of undervolting the card. Now, I don't know how undervolting or how the voltage applied to the GPU really works. I have, after reading guides on how to undervolt been able to set a voltage of .850 and a clock of 1940. This seems to run fine, but I am still worried. The wattage still looks to hover around 400W on heavy load. Can I in good faith run the card like this? Will limiting the Voltage also limit the potential for high power spikes? Hoping to have a discussion about this.

Hi everyone! If anyone here owns the ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 3080 Ti LC OC, how well does it perform for you? Like: 1. what clockspeeds are you getting at stock 2. how warm is the GPU and VRAM 3. if overclocking or undervolting, what are your results 4. how is your case configured in terms of airflow, cooling, placement of GPU AIO etc Seems like this 3080 Ti model isn't so popular but ey - maybe someone on here owns it Thanks

Open For Changes or ideas as I'm not the smartest individual 1. Budget & Location Budget: It cost what It cost, nah but really don't really have a set budget. Location: Sweden. 2. Aim The system Is mainly going to be used to play games and maybe be used to streaming or YouTube If I get into that. 3. Monitors 240hz 1440p Like the Ide of having an ultrawide for the main gaming like the g9 neo due to Its colours and lighting zones as i want a good monitor that will have good blacks and I only find 144hz monitor Oled and I don't like the risk of burn In nor 144hz. I will use my old monitor for like discord and other small stuff but I can go for more monitors as long as they look good 4. Peripherals Only need a new keyboard due to the current one is a budget one. 5. Why are you upgrading? Reason I'm upgrading to this insane level Is due to that my pc is old af and I'm annoyed at always playing games at low frames and lowest quality, and I'm building a high end one due to not need to upgrade in a while so I can keep the pc for a few years and It still be able to play games with good frames and looks. Hi, So I have a system with 3 GPU's not counting the I-gpu in the 6700k. The 3080 ti and the 2 6800 xt cards. Now my 3080 ti is used for gaming, and when not in use for mining. The 2 x 6800xt cards are at this point used purely for mining. Now the display cables are connected directly to my 3080ti and nothing else. However, AoE 4 seems to want to start on the 6800xt, and not the 3080ti. I have tried to force the default graphics card to be the 3080, in the graphics setting window (screenshot attached). But it does not care about that. When the game launches it only wants to work on the 6800 xt. I have looked around and there does not seem to be a way to change the default card on the system other than this "Graphics Settings" screen. Which appears to do nothing. Is there somewhere in the windows settings that I can tell it, use this card for video only.. I am stumped. There must be a way to get the game to use the graphics card I want.

I recently got a 3080 ti through newegg shuffle a couple of weeks ago. Upon installing it and updating the drivers, my frames were terrible. I am currently running a 1080p monitor but I plan to upgrade very very soon especially with the new card. Max settings in Destiny 2 I was getting 100% cpu usage and ony 7% gpu usage resulting in 53 fps with dips as low as 17. With my 3070 I was averaging 150 fps with identical settings. I was just wondering if any components are causing such a severe bottleneck. I am currently running a 5600x, asus rog strix x570, 32 gb ddr4 corsair vengance at 3600 mgh, and a 850 watt 80 plus gold psu from corsair. Any help and feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hey all, I am running a vertically mounted EVGA XC3 Ultra 3080 Ti in an NR200P w/ TG panel (needless to say it gets rather hot and heavy @87°C under load #ChokeMeDaddy). In an attempt to try to combat these outrageous temps, I've adjust my GPU and case fan speeds, but I'm also trying to undervolt my GPU using MSI Afterburner. However, everytime I adjust the max frequency to a lower/stable voltage my GPU idle temps go up 10° from 53° to around 63°. Is this normal for Afterburner, or am I doing something wrong? My max temps under load have dropped between 78° and 80°, which is "better" but should I be worried about the increase at idle?*** ***UPDATE: I figured out that the reason is idle 2as so high was because I "locked" the voltage on MSI AB. Now that I unlocked (shift-L'd) the undervolt, and tweaked the fan curves of my case and the GPU, I am pushing 0.825mV@1800MHz w/ 37°C at idle and an average 77°C at load. Needless to say a 10° decrease is SWEET! LOL

Hi! Kinda at a loss at this point. I have a new 3080 ti that I am trying to watercool with a EK waterblock. When I have the waterblock on I get little to know performance from the GPU and boot issues. When I have the stock cooler on, everything runs completely normal. My gut tells me its either a short from the block or the card not recognizing the fans and throttling speed. Has anyone else run into this issue? This is my first watercooling build so maybe there is something I need to change in bios? I reached out to EK before purchasing this block and I was told at the time that it was compatible. Here are the specific parts - EKWB EK-Quantum Vector RE RTX 3080/3090 GPU Water Block, Revision 2, Digital-RGB, Nickel/Plexi - ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3080 Ti AMP Holo

Aorus RTX 3080 non TI "Extreme" card has bigger power limit as well as additional 8 pin connector then "Master" version card And now I'm wondering what advantages do Aorus RTX 3080 TI "Extreme" has over "Master"? Other than additional 60 Mhz of core clock, since the current difference between this cards are ~£250 and paying that much just for Aorus figure & +60mhz (which can be done manually) would be pretty stupid... Like, does it overclock better, or is there better die's picked for extreme version? Since currently the only difference I can see is additional 60 Mhz & a Aorus figure thing Aorus RTX 3080 TI Xtreme: https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N308TAORUS-X-12GD/sp#sp Aorus RTX 3080 TI Master: https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N308TAORUS-M-12GD/sp#sp

I've been scrolling through Twitter recently and I've gotten reports and several tweets saying that Amazon's new MMO game is apparently killing 3080 ti's/3090s and other high end cards. Even AMD is affected as what Jaytwocentz said regarding this matter. But for those who have installed the Beta. How many of you bricked your card? I'd like to know because I was just about to download this. Thanks.

Hello everyone, I am having a bit of an issue with the Gigabyte Eagle 3080 Ti. The first one I got would corrupt my windows install when I installed the drivers for it. I was able to RMA it but now this second card is also having issues. The performance in games is absolutely terrible. At 2560x1080, I am getting <5 fps in Cyberpunk, ~15 fps in the MENU of Risk of Rain 2. <10 fps in unigine heaven on ultra. In contrast, my ROG Strix RX Vega 64 was able to run these fine. Here are my specs: Ryzen 5 5800x Gigabyte Eagle RTX 3080 Ti Asus ROG STRIX X570-I 2 x 32GB Corsair Vengeance 3200 Seagate Firecuda 520 2TB CoolerMaster V850 SFX Gold Some things I have tried already: Updated my BIOS Reinstalled the NVidia drivers Uninstalled the old graphics drivers Turned on/off Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling Select "High Performance" in the Power Options of Windows Control Panel Thank you

So by some extreme luck, I was able to acquire an ROG Strix 3080 ti at about twice the msrp. While overclocking, I noticed that my card would go as far as 2130 MHz with max power and thermal target. The cooler was able to keep it under 80C whle running, but the clocks were achieved when the card was not in full load. So far it seems that the cooler handles well under a constant ~440W power, petition to Asus to increase the power to maybe 480W? Asus GPU Tweak II also does not work well with the card. Although the overclock scanner works well, the card would actually perform worse in games rather than synthetic benchmarks with the oc scanner applied. We are talking less than 60 fps in 4K league of legends when msi afterburner does over 240 with max settings. Not an amazing tool to test game performance, but seeing how it does decently in 3D mark firestrike extreme really makes me think that either the card or the software is still not optimized enough.

I am considering waiting for the RTX 3080 Ti 20GB (allegedly) with more VRAM and cancelling my RTX 3080 10GB order that won't be arriving until April... However, I have never seen a game go over 8GB VRAM. Albeit, I have only ever played in 1080p but I am switching to 1440p (240Hz), but not sure if resolution affects VRAM? Are there any games that can hit 10GB+ VRAM on Ultra settings?
