Hello, I am looking for a 4k monitor 32" inch, for screen recording (to upload videos to youtube in 4k), video editing (Adobe Premiere Pro) and video games. I have an Nvidia Asus Rog RTX 3090 OC graphics card, but I don't have enough money to buy an ASUS PG32UQX monitor. I don't like 27" inch monitors (because they are too small). Kindly, can someone help me and suggest a valid alternative? I am from Italy. Thank you!

I mean, can I see more objects on screen, for example playing total was series, will I see more units on 4K, or this only depends on aspect ratio 16:9 bs 21:9?

Hello, I figured this would be the place to ask. My issue is that my computer has serious issues with playing / decoding 10-bit 4K 4:2:2 HEVC video files, I can tell it's also struggling a little with 1080i files if I try and edit it in Premiere, but it can't even play 2160p in a media player. I have tried all sorts of codecs and media players, however none of them can get the job done, which is why I think it's a hardware issue. My PC doesn't have any issues playing 4K ProRes at around 6-700mbps, so it shouldn't be a hard drive issue either. My setup: CPU: i7-6700 @ 3.40 GHz Motherboard: ASUS B150M-PLUS RAM: 32GB DDR4 (dual) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX1070 MSI 8GB GDDR5 I suspect that the CPU is too old, but I'd still love to get a second opinion before I upgrade my setup. Thanks in advance. Hello, would anyone recommend any good software for upscaling video files to HD (1080p) or 4k (2160p), preferably free or for a decent price? Thank you.

A couple days ago I was watching my cousin play a game at 1440p in a 4k TV, I swear to god we couldn't tell a noticeable difference between that and native. Truth be told, It was a 4K 55" TV standing like 10 ft from us, but our opinion on sharpness didn't change when temporarily looking at it from 5 ft. So I'm confused... why did it look sharp if the 4K TV was displaying 1440p ???

So know that ram speed significantly affects ryzens preformance, however, Im wondering if this still applies (or as much) at 4k, I am probably getting a 3000/3200 mhz kit, But I know a 1600x is better for ram overclocking compared to a 1600, so Im wondering if I should get a 1600 or 1600x for 4k gaming

Hello there fellow forum members. Finally the time has arrived to change my monitor. I'm using an LG IPS277l-bn for at least 5 years, and now I finally decided to move on. The main reason is the "low" pixel density and the ridiculous arm/stand. It's so wobbly and I'm planning to use my monitor on a monitor arm, and the current one is not vesa compatible. I have a very tight budget so only used ones for now and for this reason I won't mention the prices of the contenders. (Lets say they are nearly identical) #1: Samsung SA650. It's still 27" and 1080p but the stand is much more stable and vesa compatible. MVA panel, displayport, dvi, pivot, swiwel and all the "pro stuff" #2: Samsung 305t+. It"s bigger and has better resolution. SPVA panel, only dvi-d, usb hub, swiwel base. I know it's an older model but the price is really nice and the usb hub + the resolution bump is very tempting. But this can be affected by the well known dying t-con panel misery. As for now it's ok. But it can be a pain in the a.. later on. #3: Samsung S28U590D. It's a 4K display, but it's a TN panel and has a terrible stand solution. Nut much of an improvement over the current one except the resolution. The main usage will be browsing, twitch on one side nearly all the time, movie watching (as high resolution as possible, from the couch about 2m away from the display), coding, MS Office workflow and of course gaming. (in 1080p resolution at max!) But as for gaming nothing too demanding as I don't have a beast machine. (specs. in my signature) The games I play are mainly indie games, Team Fortress 2 and Forza Horizon. Not a hardcore gamer as you can see. Could someone point me to the right direction . What to choose? Keep the current one? Other option considering the vesa mount option? Thank you.

Since the Dell UltraSharp 32 8K Monitor (UP3218K) exists, I am sure that it is possible to make a 21:9 2160p monitor with a decent frame rate. So why hasn't anyone?

I want to upgrade from my rx 480 to a gtx 980ti because the rx 480 won't cut it for the Minecraft ultra+ shader mods (btw if you play max setting with ultra+ or extreme shades a 1060 can get utterly destroyed) and I have 1 1080p monitor right now. Would a 4k monitor be worth it or would it look the same, because I want to make the most out of a new card but I don't want to waste money on 4k, so I could play heavy games at 1080p and light ones at 4k, or get a 1440p monitor and use the 1080p one for multitasking all the time? Thanks!

So, i'm running a 3840x2160 LG monitor as my primary, and a 1920x1080 BenQ monitor as my secondary. I have this issue where if i open up a game on my primary monitor with some apps, like discord or firefox on my secondary monitor, those apps will move to my primary monitor. Nothing else happens besides that. All of my apps just move to the opposite monitor. task bars and program icons stay where they're supposed to be. I even switched the primary monitor to 1440p, and it still happens. My friend runs two monitors with different resolutions (1920x1080 monitor + 1600x900 monitor), and doesn't get this problem. Does anyone else have a setup similar to mine? And if so, do you have a solution to this problem?

I play games on a 4k tv (yes, im sorry i play on a tv, it's all i got since my monitor broke) and sometimes I have to turn the resolution down to 1080p, because my GPU can't handle playing at that high of a resolution at 60fps. When I turn it down to 1080p, the game goes over the screen and part of it is cut off. I don't know how to fix this. Can somebody help? Another issue that I have is that if I want to play a game at 1440p, the tv locks it at 30fps. I tried forcing it to run at 60 in the Nvidia Control Panel, but it doesn't work. Thanks if you can help!

I read on another forum that it should be converted to a supported codec ,but the codec of the video is in the supported codec list of the TVs specs. any solution to this ?

Hi, I'm searching for a good, 1440p or 4k monitor between 23" and 28". IPS or equivalent preferred. Only found two, but I need around 3 or 4. I'm in the province of Québec, I'd need it by tomorrow. Best buy, Walmart and The Source are the best bets for the "dead line". Thanks!

Hi all, I currently have a 1060 6GB card and a 24" 1080p monitor. I want to upgrade to a 25/1440p, 27/1440p or 27/2160p monitor. The difference between 1440p an 2160p is about €40 (€250 vs €290) so something tells me I should buy a 4k screen, but I'm afraid even the GPU I want to buy won't be able to play everything at 4k (probably a 2070). So I mostly want to know how bad downscaling 4k to 1440p during gaming actually is, as I have heard very varying stories. Also any recommendations about whether to opt for a 1440p or a 2160p monitor are welcome. Thank you

I have 2 monitors: Acer 1080p 144hz Acer 1440p 165hz G-sync I just tested what resolution both monitors could accept using HDMI and my 1080p monitor could do 1800p at 60hz and the 1440p could do 2160p at 60hz. I didn't try any higher than 2160p and 60hz as this was my goal. I did this testing to see if I could use a playstation 4 pro and play games at 2160p on my 1440p monitor instead of supersampled 1080p on my 1080p monitor. So my questions are: - Can I damage my monitors by playing at the resolutions? - Has anyone done this before with a ps4 pro or xbox one x and knows more about this? - 2160p on my 1440p monitor looked a bit strange, Like there was some blurry anti aa. Will this be the same with a ps4 pro?

Good Day LLT Community, Over the past few days I have been building a new Hyperion 4K Display with over 400 LEDs. I got everything up and running accept, I can't get the Entertainment System to output in 4K. This is due to the lack of HDCP 2.0 and 2160p resolution on my hdmi2AV adapter. I was wondering if anyone had any success in finding either a 2160p@60fps to 1080p hdmi converter, or a 2160p@60fps to Analog. I don't need the super resolution for the LEDs as I won't have more than 135 LED on a side. However, it is important to note that the signal converter needs to support 2160p @ 60fp or else the entire entertainment system with downscale the 4K signal. Any suggestions on a hardware converter for HDMI? By the way, I am familiar with the HDFury Linker, but this is pretty darn expensive.

After i search a little on the internet i found i need a BLURAY Player(with USB port). But which? Hi all i've found my self in a difficult position with having to change my monitor. I am currently using a 4k 42inch LG tv with an IPS and 4.4.4 chroma rating. my panel is 60Hz and all the HDMI 2.0 ports are rated at 10bit. when using my GTX980's in sli i get a continues green flashing lines going down the screen. I have swapped out my GPU's and still no fix so i believe it to be the panel its self. now I wish to change my monitor for one of the following two Asus PG278Q or Acer Predator XB280 now there both Gsync panels but the Predator is 4k which is mainly the resolution I wish to use. I mainly play World of tanks competitively and with my current 4k display I am getting between 60 to 45fps @ 4k. Now I feel im going to be kicking my self with what ever one I choose out of these two wonderful monitor's the drawing points for the Asus is its good looks better than 1080p display and the high refresh rate. the drawing points for the Acer is its 4k res and its the worlds first Gsync 4k monitor now the question id like to no is would I still benefit from Gsync playing world of tanks @ 4k on such a low Fps avarage of 40fps or would I benefit more by losing the extra image quality from 4K and dropping down to 1440p with the swift.

Cut to the chase: What GPU configuration is needed to provide a minimum of 60fps in WoW @ultra settings and 2xMSAA using a 4k monitor? More in depth: In the past, when I played WoW in 1080p, then 1440p I was always able to play at a minimum of 60fps with ultra settings. (Yes there may have been the occasional dip in raids, but it hardly ever happened for me). Now that I have a 4k monitor, it's a different story. Originally I had a EVGA GTX 970 FTW and later returned it for a 980 superclocked. There was an improvement, particularly before patch 6.1 came out, but now I am no longer willing to accept the occasional frame dips, and the fact that I can't play with any AA (yes 4k makes AA less of an issue, but I still see jaggies/shimmer and want to be able to use 2xMSAA). For the most part, I do have 60+fps for 90% of the time so I can play the game using the single 980, but I don't want to. I would really like to hear from those who are able to accomplish what I am trying (if it's even possible @ 4k). Please no “should, supposedly, most likely, etc” scenarios. I know WoW is CPU heavy as well, but I don't believe that is the issue as task manager shows I am only using about 50%. There is a specific area where my frame dips occur in Nagrand just a little bit west down the path of Joz's Rylaks flight path around 60.40, 35.94. If I continue west down the path it gets really choppy with fps usually around 50, but I have seen it dip to the 40's. Every time I head west with the camera looking down the path into the distance my fps would drop (I would go to about 56.44, 37.49). Oddly, heading east between the two points was more or less fine- a solid 60fps. If anyone has the time, I would be very interested if this area gives you problems as well, 4k or not. I am not sure if this area in Nagrand is an anomaly, but it is the perfect example of the minimum frame drops I occasionally get (like in raids) that can be consistently repeated so it should be a good testing area for others. Here are the specs of my computer: i7 3770K (right now at 3.9ghz) 32gb Ram Asus P8Z77V-Pro Crucial M4 SSD 750W PSU GTX 980 SC Using Precision X, it looks like only about 2gb of memory is used on the card in Warcraft so I don't think the problem is related to the “you need more than 4gb for 4k” issue. Nothing seems odd in the rest of the OSD other than the power limit seems to turn off an on- maybe that offers some insight? I know a lot of you have better set ups so I am really hoping someone can give a definitive answer to accomplish what I am going for. All help is appreciated.

Problems with Washed colors above 1440p Chrome YT
ProfoundDisputes posted a topic in Troubleshooting
When I set the quality on Youtube to above 1080p in chrome I can immediately see the video lose color depth. It just looks over all clearer and more pleasing in IE. This only happens in chrome and NOT in IE. This has been bothering me for a while now. I have gone through my settings in Nvidia graphics driver and can't figure out what it could be. Left is Chrome and right is IE. I hope you can see the difference with the compressed file, I can.
