Built a PC for a friend for game dev and gaming, paired a 7800X with a CoolerMaster 212. Noticed I was getting peak temperature at 95 degrees on the CPU, so i took apart the 212 to remount it when I noticed one of the mounting screws was loose. I started tightening it and the head broke off the screw (picture for reference). I’ve tried superglue to torque it out but I’ve had no luck. Any one have any ideas on how to get this out so I can at least salvage this board?

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 LED TUROO So i decided to change the thermal paste for my CPU, when i opened my CPU Cooler i saw this. This cooler is like an year old only. Now i would like to know after cleaning it with vinegar and salt water, will it be safe to use? Or should i simply buy a new one? Thanks

Yes yes yes, i know i have an old computer and yes im looking in to upgrading when prices go down a bit more. I made my system in late 2015 so i think it was decent at the time. But since i bought it it was always running a bit hotter than i would have liked, my cpu (FX-8350) was regularly running at over 80c when gaming more demanding games with a CoolerMaster 212 EVO. I looked in to the subject a bit and learned that the fx-8350 likes to run hot and that its normal, but looking at much more powerful new cpus from intel and amd i cant imagine that 80c+ temp on an older cpu with a good cooler are normal. I dont have an overclock, i have 4 case fans generating positive air pressure inside the case, room is well ventilated. I'm trying to figure out if my situation is really normal or not, and is there a cheap fix since i dont want to invest in an old system.

My current PC has a fx 8350, i'm looking to sell these parts and buy a six core ryzen cpu later on this year when they launch. I was wondering how much these parts are worth. FX 8350 (still running well hasn't been overclocked at all, owned since october 2015) Gigabyte 970 Gaming Motherboard(brought this recently so it's only it's only 4 months old, still working fine) Coolermaster 212 Evo (brought this at the same time as my CPU, has always kept my CPU at 25-30c idle) Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 2x4GB (brought at the same time as my CPU, still working fine haven't messed about with it) EDIT: In pounds preferably thanks

So, what are the advantages of the 212 PRO over the EVO? Anyone know? Also, is the double fan worth it?

I'm going to be building a Ryzen 5 1500X system in the next couple of months and I want to delve into overclocking for the first time and I'm hoping to get it near max around 3.9/4.0GHz. I currently have the 212 evo but I won't be able to use it for my Ryzen build. I like quiet and I worry about pump noise from an AIO and besides, I like how some big air coolers look. It needs to fit in my S340 case which has a max clearance of 161mm. I quite like the sound and look (no pun intended) of the BeQuiet Dark Rock 3 will fit but the pro version wont. Or even the Dark Rock TF one? Something from another brand? Cryorig H5 Universal? I know Noctua but they look so....ick. Budget doesn't matter too much as I'm getting a new job and I'm treating myself Bottom line I guess is, will any of these be better than the 212?

I just got my i7 4770 to ugrade from my i3 4170 and i have been told that the i7 4770 runs hot. Which one is better out of the 3: H7 Cryorig, BeQuiet! Pure Rock or evo 212?

So i recently upgraded my PC to ryzen 5 from an FX system and now i'm looking to sell my old rig and was wondering how much i should be looking to sell it for. The components are: CPU: FX 8350 (hasn't been overclocked at all) Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo RAM: 16GB Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 Motherboard: Gigabyte GA 970 Gaming (only a few months old in comparison to the rest of the system) GPU: MSI GTX 960 4GB PSU: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Case: Aerocool GT Advance White Edition The system doesn't have any drives as i put them in my new system. it's also just under 2 years old as i built in towards the end of 2015. I live in the UK so price in pounds please

I have the i7 6700k @ 4.6 1.35v and my cooler is the grandis xe1236. I have it at 100% fan speed but when I run any stress test (aida64, OCCT, H.264 test etc) I get crazy high temps like 80+. I have re-seated and re-applied the thermal paste 4 times now. At first I put too much on and I saw a decrease in 6C when I put less on but it's still at 80C and I don't understand why. This cooler is meant to be as good the H5 universal yet even the hyper 212 can do better according to tests I've seen online. Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've recently been overclocking my fx-6300. Surprisingly the stock cooler has held up pretty well, despite numerous posts on forums that it wouldn't be good at all. I've been able to overclock to 3.8GHz stable, 3.9 will boot but crash soon after. My temps could be better, but for a stock cooler, I think they're pretty ok, but I might be wrong. The temps level out at 65C on AIDA64. Voltages I haven't messed with, I've left it at auto; but I suspect it's not actually changing it, which may be why it crashes? I don't really want to mess with the voltage until I have a cooler that can handle the higher temps better. I don't have a lot in the budget right now, so I was looking at the Hyper Evo 212. I want to get at least to 4.0GHz on my PC, I think the 212 should be able to handle that. The question is, can my case handle the cooler? This is my case. I've searched everywhere, but I can't find a definitive answer. Some say yes, some say no. I'd like to hear from somebody who maybe has experience with this case or one of the same width. This would be my first CPU cooler upgrade, so I'm quite the novice in this regard. If it can't be done, I'd like to hear from you guys what cooler might do the trick. I researched the Hyper T2, but I'm just not sure, as I've read some reviews saying the build quality was low and the fan was quite loud. Thanks in advance!

I have all new parts to put into my Area 51 Tower case: Motherboard, CPU, Power Supply, SSD, HD, NVidia GPU. The problem is the side panel won't go on when the Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooler is installed. The Alienware case is so huge it never occurred to me that the 212 EVO would be too tall I have tried looking on Newegg for different coolers but the sizing is all over the map - inches vs mm, but some descriptions say 4.6 x 2 x 6.3 but don't tell what dimensions are which. Can someone recommend a good cooler for overclocking that is 1/2 to an 1" shorter than the Hyper 212 EVO?

Hello everyone. I bought this cheap cooler a few years back with the rest of my pc and has not been a problem until recently, I get a cpu fan error message upon cold starts and have to exit it out of the bios to continue to windows and then it works just as it always does. I did try a small old cpu fan and didn't seem to be a problem, is there anything that could be wrong with the cpu fan or could it be my mother board settings? saying that I haven't changed anything for a long time so I cannot see the settings being the issue. I have already tried changing the thermal paste too, but it does not seem to be anything to do with the problem at hand as temps have always been the same. Asus Maximus VI Gene MATX, LGA1150 Intel 4670K, Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo any help would be appreciated :)

Everybody suggests the hyper 212 and they got a point but is it this popular because it is cheap and good for price/performance or Is it actually that good?

Not just here to gloat, really need some advice: I just won an i7-8086k in the giveaway, and I feel blessed. Gonna replace the 4790k in my gaming rig, but I don't want to be in over my head right away shelling out for an AIO. My question is, how well would the hyper 212 evo I'm using now hold up as a placeholder? I know it's a sin to get a chip designed for awesome overclocking potential and have a dinky budget air cooler slapped on top of it, but I do have 2 fans attached to it, and want to save up for something nice like a good 280 rad somewhere down the line (biggest my case supports.) My budget will allow me to get an Asus Z370-F, 16GB tcorsair vengeance RGB pro (replacing 32GB DDR3,) and an EVGA supernova 650W modular PSU. Will I be able to run stock clocks comfortably? My 4790k gets 4.7 right now at a nice 65 Celsius or so, and I feel like the 8086k will turbo around there safely. Also, no, I'm not exchanging it for a threadripper. No thunderbolt support, and I don't need that many cores, I'm not a content creator. edit: my dad had a computer with an 8086 processor in it a long time ago, so I would love to make something special out of this if there are any suggestions.

My FX-6300 has been struggling to stay cool with the stock cooler. I am thinking of buying a 25-35 USD Cpu Cooler. I've heard about the EVO 212 tons of times.... Is it a good cooler for the price? If not, which cooler would you recommend for me?

when playing overwatch or any other games that are sort of demanding my cpu jumps to like high 60's and low 70's are these normal or is something wrong with my cooler. these temps are also with the cpu at 30% usage most of the time

Hey guys! I'm building my first PC and was wondering whether to buy a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo cooler. I won't be overclocking 1000000% though. If I chose to buy this cooler however, I will have to change my CPU from an i5 6600 down to an i5 6500. Personally I don't think it's worth it but just thought to post it on this forum just in case. Thanks! <3

Will a hyper 212 EVO cool a i5 6600K? Im thinking about OC it to something around 4-4.2Ghz and was just wanting to make sure my CPU fan can cool it enough so it doesn't overheat and dies on me? My full system specs can be seen here: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/partlist/ Thanks for the help

I was thinking of purchasing the hyper 103 as the evo 212 doesnt fit my case, I have run into the problem of can u turn off the blue LEDs or deactivate them by not plugging on a cord for example I have a red colour scheme in my build so I would like red or no LEDs, Thank you.

Before I begin, Specs: Intel I5 4690K 3.5GHz CPU (Not OCed) Gigabyte Z37-D3H MOBO Corsair CS750M PSU (750 Watts) 1TB Seagate HDD 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM Sock Intel CPU cooler No GPU yet (buying this week when I get money). Win 10 x64 I have recently assembled my system and I run into the problem of which aftermarket cooler to use as I find the Stock one to be loud and ineffective compared to others. I was strongly advised by friends that the EVO 212 was the best one for relatively little money (£25-£30/$35-$45) however when looking at the specs I saw that it was far too large for my case, so I was set back to square 1. I have not found anything with as much support as this so I was unsure which to purchase, I saw some decent reviews for the Raijintek Triton and it does looks so HAWT but then others said it cracked and F**ked their whole system so I have no clue. The max CPU cooler size for my case is 150mm. If you wouldn't mind taking a minute or so out of your day to alert me to a possible cooler it would be much appreciated. Looking to spend up to £55 unless it looks awesome . Thank you. (Please alert me if this is wrong thread).

Cooler Master announces MasterAir Maker 8, which will be the first cooler from Cooler Master to use its 3D Vapor Chamber (3DVC) technology. Cooler Master claimed that this technology would improve cooling efficiency by up to 19 percent compared to other CPU coolers. Like essentially all high-end air coolers, in the center of this cooler is a large aluminum heatsink. Attached to the heatsink are two 140 mm fans with red LEDs. Cooler Master also added a few customizable features to the MasterAir Maker 8. On top of the cooler is a replaceable translucent cover. Users are able to design and print their own customized top covers. Source: OC3D. Pricing & Availability: TBA.

Hi, new to the forums so i hope I'm doing this right I have recently built my new Pc, specs are: GPU:Asus Strix GTX 970 CPU:Intel I7 4790K RAM:32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 PSU:Corsair CX600M (Changing soon) Mobo:Asus Z97K Case:Corsair 230T Now, right now I am using the standard intel cooler that came with my CPU, however I am very particular with aesthetics and while it is doing a good job at keeping the CPU at reasonable temperatures, it looks awful in my case haha and I was looking at a 212 Evo as it is within my price range, however I would like to run it without the fan, I have an exhaust fan both directly behind and above the CPU running at max speed as I do not care for quietness too much (noise cancelling headphones) and I was wondering if this would be either equal to or an improvement over the stock cooler in terms of temperatures, thanks! -Carlstone13
