Hi everyone! I got a budget PC back in 2019, and it provided a pretty good experience. However, with the onset of C0V1D, home office, and online schooling, I didn't have much time to use the PC. During this period, I upgraded to Win11, which did work just fine because I primarily used Teams or remote desktop for work with no problems. I'm now facing issues with regular tasks like browsing, using Word, working with photos and videos, etc. Strangely, gaming works perfectly fine without any hiccups (playing Metro Exodus and Horizon). When using the PC, my mouse moves fine, but everything else seems frozen, as shown in the video, same with typing, the text apears after several second even a minute after last key stroke. I even did a fresh install of Windows day ago, but the problem persists after few minutes of usage. I only have a few programs installed (OrcaSlicer, Bambulab Studio, Edge, Notepad++). I know one solution could be reverting to Win10, but I'd prefer to find a reasonable fix or maybe even cheap PC upgrade. I uploaded some screenshots of my system below. I did some research and consulted others before reaching out here. There are a few things that could be related: The main issue might be switching to W11 with a CPU that probably lacks TPM or something related. While technically unsupported, the only mentioned reason was TPM, some IT guys described that as "not necessary" but still required by W11. I tried bypassing TPMCheck and SecureBootCheck in the registry and updated to W11. ( Windows 11 supported AMD processors ) Is that really that important? There was a known problem with AMD CPUs Intermittent System Stutter Experienced with fTPM Enabled on Windows® 10 and 11 I'm not sure if it applies to me since I don't have TPM and it woked fine with W10. Would trying the workaround with hardware TPM be a solution? Additionally, I was thining about BIOS update, but the motherboard manufacturer advises against it for my CPU architecture. However, the articles suggest that newer BIOS versions fix the issue with the TPM. Could you offer any suggestions or share your thoughts on this, please? I'm aware that I messed up my PC with that update, but what are my options now? Hi, I'm having issues with my 1600AF. When i benchmark with Cinebench 23 and 20. frequency dont go above 3.2ghz. And because of that i get lower results than stock 1600af. While gaming it dont go above 3.4ghz. I think the temperatures are normal. Does not exceed 65 degrees under load Where is the problem? What should i do about it? Thanks. My point in even making this post is; whats better? I am using a decade old (almost) CPU now, that feels like it's on it's last legs 1.4v for a good 5 years of me owning it has taken it's toll. I don't upgrade that often. Sill using a 240GB Samsung 840EVO SSD that was in the system when I paid my friend £300 for the thing about 5 years ago. What's going to last longer? A Ryzen 3 CPU with a 7nm process or a Ryzen 5 with a 14nm process? I'm still on bloody 32nm. This is a large purchase for me and I really don't want to waste money on it. It'll be paired with a GTX1070 for a good year or more, until I save enough for a new GPU (and when you can actually buy one) and subsequently a new Ultrawide monitor. I'd be aiming for a theoretical RTX4070 I hope, or maybe a 4060Ti, heck, even an RX7700 XT! Other info; Why is there an SSD and a PSU here? Simple answer is, because, I can? Also I want a better storage solution to this old SSD. Maybe it ends up in my GFs system. The PSU is because this one is nearing 7 years old and it's an older OCZ ZT Series unit, which scares me a lot. I've added a 750w unit because I have PSU anxiety so more is better(?) and I feel more comfortable with a higher wattage and having to spend an extra £20 on that. This AsRock B450 motherboard is stated on their site to support Ryzen 5000 series. Once the prices drop in a few years time I'm likely to simply buy a 2nd hand (or old-stock) R7 5800X or R9 5900X and run that setup with a 360mm RAD or NH-D14/15. Also, my current setup is 3 monitors. My Acer is over DVI, the Samsung is over HDMI and the Logik TV uses VGA which uses ASUS's very clever dual iGPU and main GPU system. How would I run all these monitors at once from a new PC without any onboard video from the MoBo/CPU - the TV does have HDMI in but I use that for my Roku streaming box and it would be more a first-world-problem than an actual issue to just unplug and plug in the cables every new and again. Would buying some cheap but very low power Nvidia GPU like a GT210 make sense to just have a VGA port for the TV, or am I being over-complicated for no reason? Hey, First time PC builder that needs some serious help! I recently built my PC for great 1080p gaming have a 144hz gaming monitor that I ordered to put to use when it arrives. Long story short, I was experiencing crashing with a variety of games, but slowly managed to eliminate this (although green screen that crashes my pc still occurs sometimes), but now I am having trouble booting my PC after turning it off over night. I originally had my 5600 XT on the latest vBIOS, but have since flashed back to a more stable version (as advised by gigabyte) to try and eradicate some issues. Specs as follows: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF (friend gifted M9 Plus Cryorig cooler so using that instead of stock) GPU: Gigabyte RX 5600 XT Gaming OC (using f2 BIOs) RAM: 16gb (2x8gb) Team Force Vulcan 3200MHz (these are sitting at default settings, 2400MHz, was having serious crashing issues at XMP profile) MOBO: AsRock B450M Steel Legend Storage: 1TB Crucial P1 NVMe SSD PSU: Cooler Master MWE 650W Gold The issue I am having is that when I turn my PC on first thing in the morning it doesn't boot to windows and freezes on a black screen with 2/3 white dots (as attached). I then hard reset by long holding the power button to turn off then turn back on. What happens next is a recovery screen (also attached) where I click restart and seem to boot into windows no issues. When I was having game crashes I installed "whocrahed" to assess my minidump folder (followed youtube video for this) and I do get errors with TDR (atikmpag.sys), but don't know if this is relevant. I should also mention I have another thread about the green screen crashes mentioned where I have now lowered RAM speed and have seen that this has helped reduce the green screen game crashes, but although rare, these still occur. Further help on what would cause the game crashes is welcomed. Hopefully someone can help me out! Would love to know what the cause is and how I can troubleshoot to find out. Want a stable PC that I can game on with no scares of crashing and will fire up when told. Thanks in advance, - Westy

Anyone think that might happen soon if at all? I personally don't see why anyone who is informed would buy a 1600af at there current price ($135 or more here in US) with the 3100 available for $100 and 3300x for $120. Am I missing something? Thoughts?

Hi everyone. I'm looking for a hint for a question that has been bothering me for some time now about expanding my PC. Currently I have a set: i5 4460, msi z97m gaming board, crucial 32GB ddr3 1600mhz (4x8), RX580 Aorus 4GB, crucial mx500 960gb m2 sata ssd, corsair TX650) The case is microatx Thermaltake Versa H18, but I've fitted it with very good fans, and I have SilentiumPC Spartan 3 LE as cpu cooler (45C/113F in stress). Additionally, I have an RX580 sapphire nitro 8GB in classic mac pro that I can swich with above 4GB version. PC is paired with 32" IIYAMA 63266HS (1080p, VA with freesync, 144Hz). I am not thinking going for 1440p. What I do on PC: - mainly gaming (CS GO, GTA V, Diablo III, Dirt 4, Hitman, PES, ) - sometimes Lightroom / Photoshop / Illustrator and InDesign CC editing with 2GB+ files - rarely Premiere/AE 4k footage editing (note 9 videos) What I want to archive: - Decent 1080p fun with Cyberpunk 2077 - Very playable Battlefield V (dont care about rtx) - Constant freesynced 150fps+ with CS GO (I'm playing 4:3, black bars) - Getting "everything" from RX580 Options that I see: A. Going up with max of socket 1150, so 4790K @ 4.4GHz (~$155) and waiting till 2021 for cheaper AM4 boards. B. Coffelake i5 with some or something like i7-7700 (~$230) C. Making "big switch" to AM4 so new mobo, ram and Ryzen 1600AF ($85) for now with a future plan for Ryzen 3600. I have got already waiting Bequiet cooler - Dark Rock 3 with AM4 mount. If B option is better for now which motherboard would you recommend? (would care about beefy mobos like asrock taichi, maybe 2 nvme slots etc, even E-ATX sized) If C option is better which motherboard would you recommend? Should I get 570 chipset board or cheap B450 and after some time something better? recently the Ryzen 5 1600 AF cpu came out, silently. yet, it still isn't on PCPartPicker, anyone know if this is by design or a diferent issue? this is in light of my build plan, im planning to build a 1600 AF system, and saw that it was missing from PCPP. thanks for your time
