Android 14 comes to pixel devices. Personally the advertised new feature list seems a bit, mild. I am still waiting for manual controls for their camera app https://www.theverge.com/2023/10/4/23900207/android-14-update-download-google-pixel

Hello guys. I am in the thoughs of getting a ultra portable laptop for work and traveling etc.. Have been looking into the used market on ASUS Zephyrus G14, with 1650 or 1660 gpu. I see that the prices on the used marked for these in norway is between 6000-8000NOK, is still a good laptop in 21 ? Light gaming, writing and movies. Not into 15.6" because of traveling the the weight of it. And a new Zephyrus is twice the price of a used one. What do you guys think about it ? Any ideas ?

Hello Everyone, Before starting to my first forum topic in this site, since I'm not a native speaker of English, sorry for my crappy sentences. I've been using my current laptop for 5 years now and it's not functioning properly for my use. I've been thinking for getting a new baby which can function well on both under high workload and games, and lightweight at the same time. Because of the reasons I've stated in my previous sentences, I'm in seesaw between two opinions. What I want from you guys is to state the pros and cons of these two devices to help me making my decision. Here's the amazon links of the models I'm thinking of: MSI GS43VR https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GS43VR-Phantom-Portable-i7-7700HQ/dp/B01N0V9QP3/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1502972178&sr=8-2&keywords=msi+gs43vr ALIENWARE 13 R3 https://www.amazon.com/Alienware-AW13R3-7420SLV-PUS-Gaming-Laptop-Generation/dp/B01NCOOYYX/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8 Your comments will be really helpful to me, thank you all in advance.

Hey guys an interesting question for those who now much more of the ins and outs of Adobe Premiere (and possibly Magix Vegas Pro). For a for about a year I've been using Vegas 14 as my main editing program, but I've recently decided to try out Premiere Pro to see if I can get a reduction in render times. In both cases I used the same one minute 1080p clip @ 30FPS; Both were to render and MP4 using the H.264 Codec, target 10Mbps, with audio sample rate at 48khz and bitrate at 128Khz. Both took advantage of GPU Acceleration. When I timed both, Vegas took a predictable 55 seconds, but on the other hand Premiere took 38 seconds. Could it be that Premiere takes more advantage of my hardware or is it something else on the software side?

Hello fellow nerds! This might be abit TL:DR, but here goes: Im soon getting my tax returns, and I were just notified that im getting a rather pretty sum, around the equivalent of 3500$/Euros/GBPs ... (Norway), and thus im thinking of spening around 1500 or so on a new laptop. My current one is the one im using on gigs (DJing), and this one is of the fruity/vegtable kind (MBP retina 2015), and while I love the quiality of the hardware, I HATE the OS, but replaceing it is not an option, as the DJ software im useing (Serato for thoose who care) is a much better experience in the apple flavour compared to the building material flavour. What I do love with the formentioned computer is the building quality, the screen quality and the trackpad, as well as the scilent operation during light use, and rather quiet during medium use. With light use, I primarily think of web-browsing and watching youtube (in 1080P), and medium use is steam-in-house-game-streaming from my gameing rig (love that stuff!). So, are there any laptops with a similar quality and feel to the build, similar screen quality, and whom do not spin up their fans during youtube playback (I watch to much YT before bedtime, and my wife HATES fan noise). I predict the following usecases: * Consuming webcontent, youtube, twitch, and the similars * Google drive/sheets/similars * Steam in-house game streaming from the gameing rig * Possibly some light movie editing (create movie from holiday pictures and similar), altho this can be done remotely on the gameing rig I also predict I want the following: * Atleast "top of the line" i5, possibly i7, preferably 4C/4T or 4C/8T, with a minimum of 2C/4T, but I guess the more scilent computers are mostly the "U" variant with 2c/4t * 256gig SSD should suffice, preferably of the fast(er) kind, samsung 950 or similar. * 8gigs of ram as a minimum, as 4 is usually to little, but im not sure if i can see a usecase for 16gigs if the forseeable future. * Possibly a medium sort of GPU (1050 or so?), but probably not neccesary * A good screen, picture quality is above resolution, as the formentioned apple has a rather nice screen. some 3200x1800 IPS or something? * Solid build quality. The old DJ-computer (2008 or 2009 MBP) lasted me 6-7 years before i got this one, and it is still in use as a light-controller/DMX-controller on some gigs. * Rather portable, the roughly 13" (12,5 to 14 i guess) is a nice comprimize of size and portability. But I can concider a 15" if its a good and scilent one. Pricepoint? Im looking in the 1500-2000$ range (15-20.000 NOK), but I obviously do not wanna spend more then I actually have to. As I mentioned, fan noise during light work/Youtube watching is of a high priority, with all over "this is a good puter" beeing second Im looking at the following candiates, but it is not limited to them: Dell XPS13 ? HP Spectre 360? link! Something asus? Something Lenovo? Possibly this one? - 7700HQ Microsoft Surface Laptop? link! There is this MSI-laptop, but I _DO_ hate the "gaming look", but the specs are pretty nice, but im worried about fan noise, even at idle/light work. Something Saeger/Clevo? (Branded as Multicom in norway, but same stuff). Something completely different? (No Razers in norway :/) Thanx for any advice! -DJ-

Hello, I am looking to buy a new laptop with these characteristics: - 14" - long lasting (5+ years) - not for gaming but strong enough for basic programming and day to day work - under $1000 - decent design So far I have looked into: - Lenovo (Yoga530, Thinkpad T480 or E480, maybe an Ideapad) - HP (Probook 440 or 640) - Acer (Swift5, Travel Mate P214 or P648) - Asus (ZenBook UX433) I don't have a deep knowledge in the current best laptops out there, which is why I am here. If you know which one of these are worth it, or if you know another model that is better for what Im looking for, I would love your input. Thanks

I bought a razer blade 14" 2015 model second hand recently and i knew it had trouble booting i tried reïnstalling windows etc. I discovered that the bios hadn't been updated since 2014 and i think this may be the cause for my trouble booting because as soon as i updated the fresh windows install it started bsod'ing and not booting properly or at all even. I just want to ask if the laptop I'm planning to buy is worth it for $300. It's an Alienware 14 and here are the specs: 2.4-GHz quad-core Intel i7-4700MQ processor-Geforce GTX 765M 2GB-12 GB RAM -500GB HDD Well its not that powerful these days but it can handle the task I'm planning to run with it. The only problem with it is the LCD. And I'm planning to replace it. Not sure if its the LCD itself or just some problem with the cable. But I can spend around $100 to replace that making it a sum of $400 to make it good again. Is it worth buying? Or do you have any suggestions? Can't really afford to buy a brand new since the brand new priced laptop at that range aren't capable enough for the programs I'm going to use (AutoCad and other engineering softwares) Thanks in advance!

I had recently purchased Vegas Pro 14 Edit when it was on sale for 20$ on HumbleBundle. I have prior knowledge of using the software and am aware of the software crashing when the GPU-Acceleration option is on. I read more about this and learned that the Vegas software from Pro 14 and earlier cannot utilize the modern GPUs as effectively. Is that why the software crashes so often? If not, then why does the software crash so much with the setting on? I was looking at the Vegas Pro website and the current Pro 15 version mentions that the software can utilize the current GPUs. Does that mean there aren't any more crashes on Pro 15? I currently use a GTX 970 and experience a crash when I turn GPU acceleration on. I am planning to upgrade to a 1070 somewhere down in the future.

Amazon: http://geni.us/Nrddm NCIX: http://bit.ly/28KFxuw The Razer Blade - they lowered the price and (mostly) upped the specs... But does it still feel like the best choice for a Windows-based laptop?

Razer seems to be quite tight liped on the panel type of the blade 14, and dosent say anything other than that it has an IGZO element in front of the panel. From my observations, it has too much color shift when viewed off angle to be an ips, but has far less than some of the tn panels I've seen. One thing I noticed as well is that the brightness range on the screen is tiny. The min brightness is far too bright for use in a dim environment, and the max brightness is no where near bright enough for use outside. Is this a result of the igzo element? Motion blur seems to be a bit worse than my ips desktop monitor, however latency seems to be a bit better, so I'm thoroughly confused as to what the panel type could be...

Anyone know when the new Blade 14 is going to be released? They say that it is going ship on March 31, but then when that date neared, they said it would ship on April 25. When that date neared, they changed it now to May 13. The website says "Available for Pre-order. Ships on 13th May 2016". Is this just a big scheme where Razer is just trying to get a bunch of people to preorder and then push the release date back so they have a lot of preorders before they even start its production?

So I've had my blade 14 for nearly a year now, and want to spice it up a little, and cover some of the scratches on it (I got it 2nd hand, so its been used pretty much since its release back in 2014). The obvious places like dbrand (used their skin on my htc one m7, and love it), and skickwraps dont have anything for the blade 14, and I want something less bland than the plain carbon fiber found on amazon. Something like this would be amazing: https://slickwraps.com/villain-series-skin-for-macbook.html

Hi, I am Alex and I am under 16 years old. I love computers and would love to make money off of them. My question is, how do I start building PCs and selling them, but with a budget of 700$. Also, I am from Serbia, Europe. With Serbia being not so computer developed, and high taxes for pc parts, your help about this and your opinions would help me a bunch. Alex

So it's about time i bought a new laptop. I've always had a 15.6" form factor and frankly I'm fed up with it, I find them too big to be carrying around everywhere. So I've been looking for a replacement. The price should be under £1000 but a £100 over does no harm. I had a feasable option on mysn.co.uk (xmg) in the form of their A305, but weirdly i noticed last week it's been taken off the site. I also had an option in the Chillblast defiant mini 3, but now, weirdly thats also disappeared off their website. Currently the only option I have is a model on pcspecialist.co.uk, however when I've finished choosing the parts it adds up to more than £1200 which is a bit too high. The specs I'm looking for are listed below: Screen Size: 13-14" CPU:any i7 GPU: 960M/970M RAM: 8GB Storage: 120GB SSD, 500-1000 GB HDD/SSHD Connectivity: AC WiFi (dual band) OS: Windows 8 I'd appreciate all suggestions thanks
