So my pc out of no where, a i5 haswell, with GTX 770, started making weird noises and very very loud fan noise, i still haven't opened the case to diagnose it and stuff, but i used gpu-z, and this happened wut NOTE: i just restarted pc and everything went fine, make sure to restart your pc every 2-3 days, mine kept on for 2 weeks...

Alright, I hate coming to forums for potential malware/virus/etc. stuff, but I'm not finding anything useful online. I haven't gotten a "virus" or any sort of infection in like 3 years now. Common Sense + MalwareBytes + Web of Trust + BootUSB a/v scanning every couple of months has worked out great for me. Well last weekend when I was changing Wordpress themes on my website. I lost access to it. Any time I go to it, I get "ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT" - still happens. I finally yelled at my host and they said it's not a service outage. I had a couple of friends try it - and sure as can be, they can load the site and load it fine. (And I can load it via 4G on my phone.) I've emailed them to try to work it out, figured my IP was blacklisted somehow - we had to fix that for FTP connections a while back. Well then today I tried loading something and I got redirected to a few places before it automatically took me to where I was going. (A subreddit.) I couldn't get exact URLs, and I haven't been able to re-create it, but it was a pretty obvious browser hijack experience that I've seen quite a few times, only I still landed on my destination. I also had a few sites load w/o CSS until I refreshed a few times, and then they wouldn't load and I'd get a DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN, and one other. I went to incognito mode to try and it somehow seemed worse. It also interrupted my Lynda.com video playback, threw and error and I had to reload after all this was over for it to work. Things are loading okay now, but only after my router manually rebooted during this whole process. I haven't visited any shady sites afaik, haven't downloaded anything bad, and I went ahead and removed a few Chrome extensions, but no shady extensions or processes that I noticed, and MalwareBytes & Avira Free scans are showing up clean. I also changed my ethernet adapter's DNS servers to Google's DNS servers, that didn't seem to have any effect. I've also run "ipconfig /flushdns" a few times since this weekend. No matter how much sites wouldn't load, Skype and non-browser things seemingly stayed connected fine (other than during the router reboot, of course.) Things seem to be okay now, but all this is very concerning. This affected two different Chrome profiles, and the timeout for my domain affects every device on my network. My ISP is TWC, I have a Motorola SBG6580 router - which doesn't appear to have any adjustable DNS settings on the router itself. Any ideas? --- Edit/Update: Checked the proxy settings and there was an old VPN connection set up from my usenet provider, but I don't think it was active. Removed it anyway. Didn't help.

Hello all, I have a reference GTX 960 with a blower style cooler, and a couple days ago it recommended me to download and update some driver which I did. However yesterday and today I have noticed in my tool bar or whatever you call it something quite odd. Like what would happen if I ejected it, would my graphics card still work? and is it a bug?

Ok, so the problem I'm running into is that after a recent windows 10 update, Windows reports a higher cpu usage amount than it's actually using. The math doesn't add up. Notice in the image above that it's reporting 32% cpu utilization although, when ranking all applications from highest to lowest cpu usage, it actually adds up to about 7-10%. This is constant, I don't know what's causing it, I don't know what it affects, but I have noticed slightly lower performance. Preface: I recently re-installed windows 10 about a month ago while installing a new Samsung 850 Evo SSD. I like to keep my system optimized and clean using some trusted, automated tools that include registry cleaners. I also have similar tools that notify me of any updated drivers, which I used to update the drivers. All windows updates are installed Bios seems to be updated Specs and Versions: LTT Build Page PC Part Picker Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CurrentBuildNumber 10240 I would post a system summary, but I don't know how to do it in windows 10 I'll try to respond to any questions as soon as I can, but I'm going to bed soon. bought a headphone splitter today from poundland haha, got the headphone splitter but also got another splitter thing but can't work out what it is? it's a 2 3.5mm mono input to aux output? curious as to what it is and what it's used for? hahah featured on the right of the photo below

So I don't know what I did but all of a sudden my CPU is maxing out and my RAM is going way up. Specs: Windows 10 64 bit. Intel 15-4690k 3.5Ghz 18Gb Ram Msi mini-itx 760 GIGABYTE GA-Z97-HD3 (rev. 2.0) LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel MotherboardTask1=CPU Task2=RAM Note: I did restart it and it seem to work and then when I got home from work today, it was like this. Also, I know I could close the razer software but it never does that so I left it running just to show everyone. (Couldn't open up the snipper tool because the window button won't even work, so excuse the dual monitor thing there.) If I need to fix some info, let me know, first timer

Hi everyone i've been thinking of this for a while and i was thinking you could put two or more of the tall Cooler Master: HAF stacker 935 and i was wondering if you could link up one motherboard in each stacker then over kill it with one motherboard with a core i7 with sound cards and some HDD's then another the same but with graphics cards then the other one with video cards but i have no idea if it is possible i honestly hope it is. So my cards have been working like crap for about 1 day, and when I looked in I saw that the were tilted. How do I fix this? I cant find any gpu holer, so, can someone link me to them? Tilted in that they we're not fitting right in the PCI Slot because they were too heavy.

So my Antec 650 water cooler broke today, with idle temps reaching 70 degrees on my fx 6300 at 4.2 Ghz. Before this, I used to get an idle temp of 30 C and load of 65 C, however, i replaced it with my deep cool 20$ CAD air cooler that I bought 1 year ago with my full build. Now i oc'ed to 4.5 ghz at 1.45 volts, and idle is 25 C and load is 44 C. Im never using AIO liquid cooling again, il just buy air coolers as the water cooler's maintenance and installing was not even worth it.

So for my first system I want a z97 whitch has a 1150 socket in but I am a bit low on budget so should I buy a £30 celeron and then upgrade to the i5-4690k later or save up for the i5-4690k.

So finally after about 2 and a half weeks of waiting for my parts, i got everything including the case. Was really excited to finally get to build my first PC but lo and behold, the f***ing accessory box for the R5 wasn't there. I tried to google to see if this had happened to anyone else and could literally only find one case of this happening before.. Has this ever happened to one of you? I'm just really pissed off at the moment.

Well, why? The GTS 450 used to be good, 6 years ago. But, Does it still add up today? Short Answer: NO! But let's see how it does! 1st question, And most important. Will it run crysis? Kinda... just kinda... Crysis 3 gets about 35 fps Crysis 2 Gets 60 fps on medium Crysis Warhead gets 85 FPS on low. Well, IT kinda runs it! Assassin's creed.... Oh my. Unity was bloody unplayable 10-15 fps while looking at the sky. Bluescreen at normal view! Syndicate!!!! Holy shite! It actually runs! be it 720p Low console level, BUT IT FACKING RUNS! And I GOT TO 34% OF THE STORY! Far Cry: Yes, Yes it does, I beat all far Cries. GTA V Yep, 45FPS low 1080P Minesweeper Nope. Want any more benchmarks? leave a comment.

I am debating between two TVs at the moment. After going to ABT and looking at them, I am looking at the following.... It just rubs me the right way. What is the ClearMotion Rate? Both of these are 240, but there were others that were 960 or 1200. I've read that its the motion blur, so is that a good or bad thing? Do I want this or no? I tend to watch alot of sports (baseball, hockey, football, basketball) and movies. I am NOT planning to game on this TV. Thanks for the help LTT community! Not gonna bother writing this one all perfect so here's what happened: "Bitlocker" a program that I've never used before just popped up on my PC and was like "I'm gonna set all your files to read only unless you send us bitcoin." "You have *some amount of time* to do this." "Do not attempt to look for this program or the files doing so will automatically lock the files." So me being "lul fake viruz" shut down my PC and upon rebooting it realized that all my files were locked and this program is no where to be found. I need help, I have some very important and sensitive information in my DropBox that I can no longer access!!! Please! -
Hey all, Me and my friend are skyping right now and he had a weird virus. Yesterday night my friend downloaded a game (5 nights at freddys) and in all the sudden his PC is really slow, So i looked at it with him and we found multiple windows called SVHost.exe, He opened one and we found a log file that explains he has been hacked, and the hacker is located in germany and that german used my friend his CPU for Mining. How can we fix this?

The home LTT page gives a blank white page that says this after initially totally blocking it: No data received ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE What? BTW, I pretty much copypasta'd what the warning said. The URL shouldn't even work because it was so long it ended in "...". EDIT I clicked on the hyper link the forum formating created. I get even more avast warnings and blocks. lol What? Where does that even go? Tread softly. -

After passing a "religious freedom" bill which allows businesses to discriminate against anyone for religious reasons, it should be no surprise that Indiana is the first state to ever sentence a woman to prison for having a miscarriage. Patel claims to have given birth to a stillborn while the prosecution argued that she ordered abortion pills online. Toxicology reports show no evidence of abortion-inducing medication. Even the prosecution admits that death occurred almost instantaneously, so I'm not sure why she is being held responsible for this. Given that any number of problems can occur during a pregnancy, it doesn't make any sense. I have people in my family who have miscarried, so this whole situation is just incredibly sad to me. So i have a i7-4790K and a gtx 970 strix and yeah... i have PC lag on LoL. Its no temps (50 on both) but idk if my GPU is working ok, the clock and memory speeds while playing lol are soooo low, and when the lag atacks the speeds go up and then down again. Any ideas?
