So when I play witcher 3 for about an hour the screen freezes but I can still play the game. I have update it to 1.03 but still not fixed. I got curios and checked event viewer and found this: "Application witcher3.exe has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware." Event ID 4109. I have tried reinstalling the drivers, downclock, overclock, reinstalling Net Framework and nothing helped. If you have any suggestions i would be glad to hear them. My rig: 14 GB of RAM Gainward Phantom GTX 770 2GB Asus ROG Maximus V Gene 120GB Kingston SSD 1TB WD HDD Windows 8.1

I have an HD 7950 right now which works pretty well, but is starting to show its age on a lot of new games. I'm pumped for the witcher 3's release next month and was wondering if it's worth buying a GTX 970 or 980 in order to take advantage of their current promo. Would either of those two cards be a sensible upgrade? Ideally, I'd wait for the r9 390x, but they keep delaying it to the point where I feel it's just going to flop. Thanks

Earlier today, Microsoft uploaded a gameplay video for Witcher 3, an upcoming role-playing game from CD Projekt Red. Although it was announced that the Witcher 3 will play in 900p, and locked at 30fps on XBox One, because the video can be played in 1080p, 60fps on youtube, some questioned whether this is footage captured from XBox One. The video in question Kotaku reported that they got confirmation from a representative of CD Projekt Red, that the video footage is indeed from the PC version. In the comment section of the video some called Microsoft liars, or saying this is false advertisement because of this. Gamespot received a statement from Microsoft, saying they never intended to misrepresent the visual fidelity of the Xbox One version of The Witcher 3, and apologizing for this confusion... Because of GTA V and Witcher 3 I bought a GTX 960, upgrade from 560Ti I'm thinking to buy a new CPU Currently I have: FX 6100 with Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO msi gtx 960 2GB motherboard GA-970A-D3 8GB DDR3 source aurum series 500W gold 400 gigabytes old HDD 2x SSD What would you advise me upgrade for optimal system, new FX CPU would have made any difference in those games? I'm buying a card to replace a GTX 550Ti and i'm still a bit unsure about what to take. I have around a 200 euros budget and here's what i found: Sapphire R9 280X Vapor-X : 220Euros MSI GTX 960 : 220Euros + Witcher 3 (Basically 170 Euros) The Witcher 3 is quite an attractive offer to me. Yet i fear the 960 to be a bit too thin for the upcomming years. So I might pass on the game for the raw amount of horse power from the 280X. I don't know what to expect from the 280X once overclocked, the 960 looked quite potent on that side, so they might still trade blows. I never took the AMD route before, and i heard the 280X was a rebranded card, so either way i don't know what to expect.

I have Witcher 3 and it crashes about 5 mins into the game on WIN7 I'm trying to diagnose this. One thing it points to is not enough RAM. I currantly have 8GB with about 5 left for the game. The minimum requirement is 6 so my question is: Is that requrement an overall system number or how much the game wants? Also any tips to avoid crashing also are Appreciated

Hey guys I just bougt the witcher 3. And somehow, my game lags even with everything on low, in 1080p I have a GTX 780 And a i5 4690k none of them are overclocked. I don't understand what the issue is. I have my graphics diver updated. I recently discovered that all my games lag. Like allot. I don't understand why, since i have a good pc. But my SSD and my HDD are about to run put of space, is that the problem? Please help regards Soren

So after taking a break from The Witcher 3 (Which I loved in general and sunk many hours into) I came back today to finish it all off, thought it would be a good time to do so due to the new update. I got to the Imlerith boss fight at the top of the mountain, everything was looking good, was looking forward to a hard fight, but then I managed to defeat him on the hardest difficulty without taking a bit of damage, and all I needed to use was the Quen sign and 1 skill... Literally all I did at first was roll twice when he started to attack, he did his same 2 attacks he always does, my rolls landed me behind him just before his 2nd attack was over, I did a couple of fast attacks, rinsed and repeated until he went beast mode dropped his shield, then I thought finally shit's going down right? But no, alas all he did was attack more often, then the game gave me a wide open opportunity every 4/5 attacks where he recovered from a strong attack, which would have been okay, if I didn't have the dodge skill that makes you take 0 dmg while dodging... I didn't even know I had it on, I was just waiting to die and I used Quen a couple times because I thought I would, because my dodges weren't timed well (because he attacks so quickly and consistently) then I realised after that I survived because of that skill <_< I was even trying to make it a little harder for myself by not using a decoctions (Which can be so OP) but it was still over so fast, it felt like a God of War boss fight :unsure: (Although they were awesome) So yeah overall the fight took no time at all and was over way too quickly and easily which was disappointing... Was anyone else disappointed by the boss fights in this game? I think it's best to not do all available side quests before going to do the main story, because things become way too easy, I went into the fight at lv 29 (Although only had my enhanced feline gear on, and superior swords, because ever since lv 25 I haven't been allowed to fast tele to go craft the gear! Been stuck with the main quest aha) I loved pretty much every part of this game (especially Gwent) but I just wish it was a decent bit more difficult at the higher difficulty settings!

My poor R9 280 struggles with the Witcher 3 with Ultra settings despite being overclocked. I got it running with all on Ultra except for water (high), foliage distance (high) and Hairworks (off). Even so, I was dropping to about 24 FPS in forest areas. So I turned down the resolution to 900p, but frankly it looked like arse. I went back to 1080p. Out of sheer desperation I decided to OC my card even further. I turned the clock from 1100Mhz to 1175Mhz. Of course, this did not make much difference (about 1 FPS). So here comes the weird bit. I increased the VRAM clock from 1250 to 1425. My minimum FPS jumped from 24 to 31 and keeping over 40FPS 99.9% of the time! Benchmarks (valley and Heaven) only show a 5% improvement, but my minimum on the Witcher 3 jumped by about 30%! This is the only game where I've seen such a dramatic improvement. How is it that this game is so susceptible to VRAM speeds? Has anyone seen this before?
