Hi, I recently buy and build a new PC. PC parts: I7 12700K ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A Gaming WIFI D4 Corsair 32GB KIT Vengeance RGB PRO SL 3600Mhz CL18 DDR4 Corsair iCUE H170i ELITE Capellix EVGA SuperNOVA 1300G+ Nvidia GTX 1080 EVGA superclocked 2 Corsair iCUE 7000X RGB Samsung 980 PRO 1TB (OS drive) Samsung 850 EVO 500GB (programs drive) Samsung 860 PRO 1TB (Games drive) ASUS XG-C100C (network card) Windows 10 PRO (latest version) and ACTIVATED PC start lagging after 2 to 3 hours of playing games (like Satisfactory, snowrunner, GTA V, and more..) GPU utilization drops from 95%-100% to 5%-10% CPU load is on 10-30% all time Mouse starts lagging, audio and mic start cutting RGB on my fans and AIO starts lagging Troubleshooting that I've already try: 1. logged the temps and CPU never hits above 65 C and GPU is on 60-70 C 2. reseeded RAM, runed it in dual channel, tryed gaming on that RAM on other computer... no lags... so RAM seems good 3. reinstalled all my SW and HW drivers 4. tried different GPU (Gigabyte Xtreme gaming GTX 1070) 5. uninstalled iCUE (some people report lagging when iCUE is running) 6. uninstalled ASUS CRATE (some MBO program... idk...) 7. reinstalled Windows 4x 8. created another WIN 10 boot drive (I asumed that my usb was corupted... so I create another boot drive) and install from it like 2x ... so 6. reinstalld of the OS 9. bought another ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A Gaming WIFI D4 board... replaced it with mine... so now I have 2 MBOs :D 10. unpluged all my 5 monitors and run it with just one 24" benq 11. runned my pc with and without OC (CPU-5.3GHZ) (RAM-XMP 2 3600MHz) I don't know what to do next... I'm considerring returning this PC and building another at this point.... I can't turn on HDR in games on my Asus M7600QC it is Enabele in widnows display settings but wean i go in game (Sekro, RE2 Remake) The option is all ways garyed out Winver 21H2 (19044.1415) Specs AMD 5700H RTX3050 16 GB 3200Mhz I ran DisplayHDRTest And it worked fine Also Windows wont show me the auto HDR Toggole

Just a few weeks ago i decided to upgrade my rig which was starting to seriously lack in about every aspect. Looking at budget options, I've picked up: • AMD's Ryzen 5 1600 AF • Gigabyte B450 Gaming X (1.1v) AM4 • 2x 4GB Kingston DDR4 2666Hz • Chieftec A-80 750W 85% eff. With that in mind i did decide to try and use my old: - AMD Radeon HD 7770 GHz 2048Mb edition. I've been trying to figure out the problem for a while now, but every time I try to install the Driver for the GPU my PC attempts a restart after the first few screen flickers of the installation then crashes as the restart fails to boot properly where the windows logo will indeed show up, but then the screen goes black for about 10-15 seconds. Followed by yet another restart where it continuously fails to even post. For a good week or so I've been searching for a way to fix it, I've disabled windows updates and background driver installation, I've tried DDU and other console fixes both trough CMD and on Automatic Repair console. I've checked a lot of things using the safe mode after the driver installation attempts yet the problem persists, both on old and new installations of Windows 10 64x With my wallet empty as i just bought most of the upgrades, i really don't want to try and get a different GPU. I'm happy to try any suggestions at this point as it's probably the last option i have before giving in and buying a new GPU. I will post the ntbtlog.txt file if needed. -
Hi guys I have a problem with my laptop. Wake from sleep is not working for integrated trackpad and keyboard. I will attach screenshots of device manager showing that power management tab is missing from integrated keyboard and mouse. And a screenshot of power settings in bios. So here is the problem. I can wake laptop with opening the lid, and with press of a power button. I can also wake it from external usb mouse or keyboard, but i cannot wake it with integrated keyboard or trackpad. I have tried updating bios and it is still the same. I changed all power settings in bios and no luck. Can someone help me get power management tab back to trackpad and keyboard so i can wake up my laptop with integrated peripherals? I updated every driver i could find. Oh, and the laptop is HP ProBook 470 G3 I5-6200U 4GB RAM Intel HD Graphics 520 AMD Radeon R7 M340 Win 10 Pro - Version 19044.1503 BIOS version N78 Ver. 01.53

Hey all, My computer crashes when I play any games at all. I've checked memory, reinstalled it, mem health, etc--that's not the problem. Putting the PC under CPU load doesn't do anything. However, if the GPU gets a heavy load like any gaming my PC just goes black and starts restarting. SPECS: MOB: ASRock B450M/ac CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 GPU: PNY RTX 2060 Super Dual Fan 8gb RAM: Oloy 8gb x2 3000 PSU: Thermaltake Smart series 500Watt SSD: Barracuda 500GB Everything above is about a year or so old from when I got it at least. My CPU (idle) is around 50-55deg. Under load it's 80-85deg. My GPU (idle) is around 45deg. Under load it's 75deg. Also, I caught this (imgbb link) from HWINFO on my phone just before one of the crashes, I was opening up PC Building Simulator on my other monitor. Side Note: My GPU when attached to the backplate looks like this (imgbb link). I don't think this should really affect anything, but I might be wrong, should I fix that?

Hello there, it was time for a new PC and as graphics card prices are still horrible, i decided to get the AMD Ryzen 5600G. However then things started to go wrong... Whenever i try to install any AMD Graphics driver, Windows 10 crashes with the infamous blue screen Every time I try to restart the Blue screen is there immediately. Compatibility Mode works fine (with bad resolution). Here is the Setup: CPU:AMD Ryzen 5600G Mainboard: MSI B550M Pro-VDH (without Wifi) RAM: 2x 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4-3600 CL18-22-22-42 Kit Graphics card: - PSU: Seasonic Focus PX 80+ Platinum 550W Display: Viewsonic 32" 1440p 144Hz How I got there: After buying and assembling the PC, it didn't boot - As expected. I flashed the newest stable Bios via USB and Mainboard Flash button. When i then went into the Bios, the RAM was running at 2100MHz insted of the advertised 3600MHz... I toyed around with some XMP settings and got Windows 10 to run at 3333MHz (Higher didn't work). Then I installed the recent Chipset drivers and AMD graphics driver and started work. After a few minuted while doing some MS Word stuff, Image errors started to appear (see picture). Those space invader things got more and more and the screen randomely went black for 2 seconds before going back into space invader mode. I then restarted the PC, put the RAM back to 2100MHz and reinstalled the newest AMD Graphics driver - A fatal mistake... The PC crashed and can't load into Windows. It's just immediate blue screen every time... Compatibility Mode does start, but is no solution for the long run. After reinstalling Win 10 (without installing any AMD drivers) it got better. There were still sporadic 1-2 second black screens and some space invader shenanigans, but only after a few hours of work. And a quick restart fixed the issue for another few hours. However, after a few days i just wanted to get this damn thing to work and installed the latest AMD drivers (they released new ones in the meantime). Boom - Blue screen and can't load into Windows... Conclusion: I really need help. Is there anything I have missed? Any RAM incompatibility, or older drivers that might work? At this moment I am thinking about returning the hardware... but I don'T even know what part is causing my problems... or is it really just the Software? Any help is appreciated

Warning: Long post ahead. So I’ve got a new NVME drive for my system to replace my almost full 256 sata ssd. Most of my programs and files are located on a separate HD and another sata ssd (the HDD and the System Drive are dynamic disks for some reason). Before trying to install Windows onto the new NVME drive, I disconnected the system drive in case I’ll screw up the installation. Booting up from my usb stick, the installation went fine, after leaving for about a minute I’ve seen a message on screen that I have two OSs installed. Not knowing which one is the new drive, it went for the first option by itself, and it failed to boot. Having no time to deal with it, after tinkering with it for a while I decided to revert back. I replugged the system drive and changed boot priority. When I booted back my HDD was missing, and I’ve ended up spending half an hour to get it back. So my question is, what is the correct way to install windows on the new NVME drive while not screwing up the data on the other drives? I have no idea if it matters but the HDD and the System Drive are dynamic disks for some reason, and as far as I know I don’t have any raid setup. I’ve seen this topic about transferring HDDs to a different PC should I do that before reinstalling? I’ll be very thankful if someone can provide me with a step by step way to do this correctly, Incl. when to change boot priority if possible. The current state of Disk Manager sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance.

Hi i have a problem where my dekstop fans all start going full speed(quite noisy) when my desktop goes to sleep. As soon as the pc is awaken(if thats what it's called) all the fans go back to their silent operation. Anybody have an idea what the cause might be and how i can change it? Its been going on for quite some time now. Thanks in advance! Regards

Hello, I just built my PC and was trying to install windows 10 on my 980 pro ssd, it is detected in my bios but it's not detected in the drives when i am trying to install windows, i am using a b550 creator motherboard and it has two m.2 slots tried in both but the bios is able to detect the drive but windows can't, i have another m.2 ssd 970 evo plus, that was being detected in the drives, but my 980 pro is not detected, should I send it for rma? -
Hi, I just reinstall Window 10 yesterday, and I realised the MS store is no longer bundled with the installation. Does anyone have the same experience? I did this on 2 different machine several times, so I don't think it is any wrong with my installation. If this is true, it would be hilarious, because you can't even open a photo on Win10 out of the box. Anyway, in case it is a regionally thing, I am in the UK right now. Also, I am on a Ryzen 5 5600X and a RX6800.

Hey LTT friends, I cloned PC-A drives which was on Win7 and I want to put these cloned drives on PC-B which is a fresh install. Does PC-B absolutely have to be Win7 to be able to accept the cloned drives or can my PC-B be Win10 and have no issues? I hope I'm making sense... I have a key for win10 so it would be a waste to not use it but before I do anything and possibly lose all my data, I wanted to know if this was possible. Thanks for any help/advice, I greatly appreciate you all and what you do!

I'm slowly losing my mind with this. Got a 2nd hand comp with an rx570 for my sister and her family. Had a few issues at the beginning until I realised it was used for mining and using an old set of AMD drivers worked fine. Worked fine for ages 6 months down the line when having to do a bunch of system cleaning and updating to it, I had forgotten all this and updated the Radeon software and the GPU stopped working. (Black screen constantly, have to connect to the onboard graphics to see anything). Rolling back didn't work so I (obviously stupidly decided to try to flash an original bios onto it to try to fix the issue. Wouldn't work. Contacted the manufacturer of the card and got their original bios but it just complains about the p/n not matching. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Just about to build my first PC and i searched around for Win10 Pro keys and stumbled onto a site called Keysoff.com through this post on Toms Hardware (https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/get-windows-10-free-or-cheap,5717.html) Was wondering if anyone had any experiance with this particular site or if anyone knows of any good place to buy a Win10 Key? (saddly can't pirate or not activate the key, as its going to be my work computer and i need a recipt of where i bought the software, even if it is from a sketchy sight)

found out about this error because i was selected for the halo infinite testing and ofc, I'm excited to play. went to the Microsoft store to download the Xbox insider hub, and got this error, didn't know what the error code was so i said fuck it, and thought id upgrade to win 11 and then see if it worked or not. Guess what, cant do that either. now here's the weird part, this wasn't always an issue, I have downloaded things from the Microsoft store before, and i have upgraded to win 11 through the dev channel before( came back because i didn't like the general aesthetic) and I've install stuff from the Microsoft store After coming back to win 10, and I have done all that very recently, its not even been a month since i built my PC. So like any other fixes i googled some fixes, and one of them have worked. I tried doing the command prompt thingy a site suggested, I've tried doing the 'w10-wuauserv' thingy multiple times, I've even used the windows installation media tool to repair windows. Not once. Twice. nothing worked, please help me figure out what's wrong and how to fix it guys, and i hope there's a fix for this other than a straight reinstall of windows. Ever since the win update that effect x570 motherboards, I have been try to keep my system from forgetting c drive. And now all my drives have the, "drive doesn't have space error," while forgetting where the os is installed at. My pc specs X570 aorus master wifi Ryzen 9 3900 16 gb ram 3 1TB m.2 drives ssd (os on m.2a slot) 2 1TB 2.5 drives ssd 1 10TB 3.5 drive hdd $1300 of drives now paperweights. This system was a b-day gift to me, after my previous system had a motherboard failure with the fx-6300 processor. With a 6-7 months gap between from one failure to the next system built.

Hello peeps, I recently upgraded from a ROG z270 to a ROG z490, I remember enabling XMP on my Z270 and it did work with a 6600K to boost the memory frequency to 3200Mhz however motherboard died after some times and its 95% because of the XMP. (mobo goes into infinite boot loop red led then orange and again). Now with my Z490-F, I can't even go higher than 2133 Mhz. After enabling XMP the board turns off and on TWICE then goes into the same cycle as the Z270 for at least 4-5 times then sends me to bios and the screen before that telling me i booted into safe mode and have to press F1. I never manually overclocked because I don't know how and would rather use the pre set profile just so I don't burn anything. Can anyone help me fix this? Hey everyone, I got a laptop recently, and its been having some issues. one of which, is that window desktop manager is drawing far too much RAM. After I turned off most 'pretty things'' in the performance options (all but smooth edges) it is drawing 3.7gb of RAM. Before that, it was drawing up to 12 gigabytes of RAM during a game, 12gb just for that application, not the game, and 8gb when idling. Anyone got a solution? I already set my background image to basic.

Hello fellow geeks! I am looking for some guidance, as i want to swap to Linux from Win10! The swap is not because of Win11, but because i am fed up with annoying bugs/missing features. Some of my issues are: Can't use the win search for anything anymore, have to reinstall after some windows updates because of BSOD(occurs less frequently now), escaping strings while programming, setting %path variables requires 1-3 reboots for magic reasons, 15 desktops needs to be setup from scratch whenever i reboot and the list goes on.. The software i must have available: Discord Photoshop (it is fine if it can run okay'ish on a VM as i am not using any of their performance functions) Google Filestream (might just be called a mounted/mapped Google Drive now) Hardware concerns: Bose QC 35 II - How is Bluetooth support in Linux now? Tried Mint 3 years ago and took me a long time to get Bluetooth running properly. Current system: Ryzen 3700x 64 GB RAM (2x32 GB 3600MHz) Gigabyte X570 I AORUS PRO WIFI Gigabyte RTX 2060 2TB Gen4 SSD From looking at different Linux distros i am a bit taken with Manjaro, not sure why.. I would love some advice! I am not a total noob in regards to Linux, have been using Debian(for servers) and Raspian for many years. However, i have never been happy/satisfied with the amount of trouble that has come with Linux desktop environments and this might have been influenced by trying to get docking stations and other non-standard devices to work. Luckily i don't work on a laptop with "special" requirements anymore and i think that will make the transition better =) -

Alright, I've got myself a new SSD a few months ago, a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500 GB to be precise and installed Windows 10 on it. The installation went flawlessly and I set all my stuff up again, which took quite a while since I use my PC for all sorts of things. A few weeks ago my Windows started taking quite long to load my profile and once I get in, explorer.exe is frozen. No icons in my taskbar and I can't interact with anything. I usually fix it by spam clicking the taskbar, and after about 5 seconds everything will be reloaded and working fine. Now this isn't much of an issue, but I would still like to get rid of it. This also occurs in safe mode, there's no difference. Hello, I recently built my first PC, but when I tried to boot Windows 10 from an USB drive, it gets stuck on the logo along with some graphics glitches (see attachment). Now, I don't know if it is a faulty configuration or if I made a mistake when building the PC - which is likely, since it was my first time doing it. I am by no means an expert, but to me it looks like everything is working as I see all the components in the BIOS. I also tried using different USBs but all had the same outcome. I created them with the Windows Media Creation Tool. Here are the specifics for the PC: AMD Ryzen 7 5800x CPU GTX GeForce 3070 GPU Corsair Force MP510 Kingston A400 MSI MPG B550 GAMING CARBON WIFI I think those are the most important ones.

Hello guys I have samsung evo 970 m. 2 drive I addition to 2x 2b sshd firecuda Every thing was fine and working perfectly One of my sshds health was very low and i replaced it with newer one After removing dead sshd and connecting new sshd system suddenly not booting even when i connected old sshd back remove all drives and kept the m.2 only connect still system Keep redirecting me to bios over and over tried all legacy ,uefi , csm enabled nothing , csm disable all drives disappear from boot menu updated bios still no progress connected old SSD with windows installed on it the system boot perfectly and m.2 visible with all data on it Mb. Z390 aorus master

Hello dear friends. I have "Genesis Thor 210 RGB" keyboard. it was working perfectly fine but since i changed my motherboard none of my computers or laptop detects this keyboard as should. RGB is not working anymore, software for this keyboard cannot detect it as well and PC instead of saying that i have plugged in "Genesis thor 210" is saying "USB Keyboard". please if anyone can help me with fixing it ill appreciate. thanks in advance.

When I plug in a audiodivice in the back of my mainboard, Win 10 recognizes it and I hit 'OK' after I specify if it as either headphones or speakers. The volume shows 100%, however I am not able to hear anything until I restart the PC. Mainboard: MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Bios: A.40 OS: Windows 10 Home 20H2 The problem seemed to have come out of nowhere. 2 days ago it worked just fine: I unplug my headphones, plug the speakers in and specify them as speakers in the Windows popup menu and they worked without restarting the system. Any ideas what I can do?

Hey guys, I've been trying to install ryzen master (downloaded from the amd site) and once I run it, even with admin privileges, it crashes. It initially says "Extracting: AMD ryzenmaster.msi" and crashes on the next window in about 1 second which says "Preparing to install". No error codes are given. My specs: R5 2600 RX580 (drivers updated to current) b450 tomahawk 16GB DDR4 W10 pro version 20H2 build 19042.685 I am also using the AMD balanced power settings and the last time I updated my BIOS was after Zen 2 came out Any idea of what it might be?

CVE-2020-117087 is a zero-day discovered by Google's Project Zero, which can use buffer flow for privilege escalation. Google Project Zero discloses vulnerabilities publicly after 90 days. However, this is known to be actively exploited, so it is on a 7-day disclosure. Microsoft gave a generic sounding response when it went public: The vulnerability was expected to be patched on November 10th. It has also been confirmed that this is not suspected of being election-related. The bug has apparently existed since Windows 7, and still exists in Windows 10 1903 (64-bit), so be sure to update! Details further details on the exploit's workings: IOCTL is an abbreviation of input/output control. The actively used part of the exploit relied on a previous Chrome flaw, CVE-2020-117087, an issue in FreeType, which was fixed It was also featured on Techlinked. My thoughts It is important to keep devices on a secure, up to date version for this reason. Especially since there is evidence of it being actively exploited. If you have not updated after the FreeType flaw, you should ASAP.
