I was just wondering tonight, what would you use your tablet for ? I mean, I don't have one right now, and I'm not planning on buying one, because I find this pretty much useless :/ I kind of see why it is useful for some persons that are constantly travelling, but for others, and at home ? Just explain it to me, I don't get it

Hey, one question regarding binning of GPU's. I have 4 R9 270X cards that currently reside in my altcoin mining rig. However, due to absurd energy prices in SoCal, mining may soon be irrelevant, and so I am planning on converting the mining rig into a gaming rig for myself. So, my question, is it possible to personally bin/check which GPU is the better binned of the 4, as I can only run 2 of them in Crossfire, and would like to use the best 2 of the 4 cards in my personal rig. Any and all help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was chatting away in Google's live stream chat box, and a captcha showed up. I'm fine with that. Anything to reduce spam in the chat is good. But it's soooo broken... First the visuals are completely mashed up, and I cannot put my cursor in the text box to respond. That means I cannot chat anymore! This is at 1080p, with 100% scale. *facepalm* Why Google? Why?

Source: Wired I know it seems gross, but filtering out the byproducts of the endocrine system makes urine into water with some harmless salts and sugars. It's similar to the process by which the water main filters sewage, but leaves certain salts and sugars in the solution. And yes, it's an older article. But it's fascinating.

So I recently bought a Blue Yeti. When I plugged it into my pc it the mic light up but when i go to sound setting the yeti isn't there. So I went into the control panel and then devices and the blue yeti was under the tab ''unspecified''. It said that it can't install the drivers and there for it is not working. Even tho the Blue yeti doesn't need drivers. I tried plugging it into my ps3 and that worked fine. Any ideas??

Why? I've installed Infinality, and see no notable difference. Especially in Chrome (and any other browser, really), no matter what font configuration I use, they just looks crap. Even Windows is better than this, and OSX is far and beyond anything else I've seen. This is one of the big things that keeps turning me away from Linux every time I install it. What default fonts and font tweaks are you using?

Personally I put together my first rig with the total intention of adding a ton of crap later down the road. I bought a huge roomy case-$$$-and barely filled it with the minimum. (Oh and I went with the n00b move and made it look like a green freakin space tank from outer space. Yep...$$$-Now Fractal Design is looking pretty sweet) I bought a fancy 990fx mobo for overclocking and SLI-$$$-I am still using my fx6300 with a stock cooler and 1 GPU I bought my GTX 760 with 4GBs of memory for higher resolutions-$$$-still using 1080p, turns out (good)1440p is expensive as balls Worst of all I'm now thinking of trashing 90% of my build just to make a small Intel Mini ITX system. My drives and GPU would be the only thing spared. Anyone else do this before? Please share any fun, albeit shameful, stories of purchase histories or mess ups.

I play a lot of CS:GO and Battlefield 4. I really enjoy the game, but most good players use 144hz monitors. Now I know higher the refresh rate is better, so is it worth me getting the BenQ XL2420Z? http://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-XL2420Z-inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B00HZF2MPE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398638640&sr=8-1&keywords=benq+xl2420z I really like the look of the monitor and its at a good price. I already have 2 IPS displays but these are not the best for gaming. Thanks, Alfie.

So I did a poll once, S5 vs M8, and saw other polls too, and even though the post put "EXPLAIN WHY" in caps and bold or whatever, people happily just say "M8 because of the build quality" Now I love the Metal Body of the M8, it is fantastic for what it is, but people be rational, you do know, Metal gets dents way more easily? It also gets scratches more easily making it ugly after awhile making the build quality feel go away with time, if it is scratched up and dented. I mean look at other companies, LG, Motorola, Apple(5C), Sony, OnePlus, Oppo, do they make Metal phones? DO THEY?! So please, enough with your M8 cause of build quality, Yes it is beautiful in all aspects and should be adopted by others, but if you look at the other phone companies, they also don't really make Metal Phones either. I mean if I had ever had to buy a iPhone for build quality, I would go with the 5C, because for it feels natural and just more enjoyable to use. So all in all, please stop with this build quality nonsense, in the tech world is does have relevance yes, but does that mean, you could have the best Build Quality, but limited Functionality? Or phone that has good functionality but just not such a great build quality. Sorry if you did not like the rant, I have not been sleeping lately due to exams, so I just wanted to rant about this, thanks for reading, and remember, if someone asks why one phone over the other, don't just say one thing and post, they need your help, that is why they ask. /rant A song to listen too if you want to read this post: Or this, Original one:

I was thinking about it and I thougt lets make a topic Sorry for my english!! When I download A program and Im sure its safe. My antivirus always complains about thats its not safe or something. Like, My GTA sa CD was broken and I wanted to play it so i downloaded an no-cd crack. Everytime I reboot my pc its gone because my virus scanner is removing it. I hate those things so much. and every free crap antivirus has so many ads. I dont care anymore if I get an virus. Im not using my bank account on that pc and all my game save files and school files are saved on a 64 GB usb. I use windows defender (I dont know how its called in windows 8) My friends thinks im stupid but I dont know. What do you think about it????

Hi there folks. I've been finalising the parts list to the new mid-high end PC which I am hoping to get within six months. Please keep in mind that I live in Australia and the prices are often higher than in the US. I want you guys to go through this list and see if you can improve upon it in any way. The catch? I want you to be as nit-picky as possible and if needed suggest alternate components and explain why. So here is the list: Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro [AU$115] -- Looks good, it's also pretty much the most fully featured case in that price range. PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W Gold [AU$239] -- Good enough to power any single GPU system. However, I don't really like the red PCIe cables. If the SuperNOVA G2 750W was in Australia I would pick that instead because of the all black cables and higher wattage. I also considered the Corsair RM550/RM650 because of the very low noise but chose not to use it because of the inferior cables. Motherboard: ASUS Maximus VII Ranger [AU$225] -- There are cheaper options out there but I chose this one mostly because of Fan Xpert 3 and because of ASUS's generally good warranty. CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K [AU$269] -- Most likely to change this to the 4690K because why not. RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 2x4GB DDR3 1600 [$99] -- Not the greatest performance, but it's cheap and looks better than any of the other similarly priced RAM. (RAM in Aus is much more expensive than in the US) GPU: Gigabyte Radeon R9 290 Windforce 4GB [AU$449] -- Pretty cheap for a 290. SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB [AU$179] -- I will also be using a 1TB HDD from my current PC CPU Cooler: NZXT Havik 140 [AU$69] -- This particular CPU cooler seems to be overlooked but from the reviews that I've seen it performs very well, especially considering its price. Total: AU$1554 I would greatly appreciate any suggested changes, as long as you can explain why. I would also like to keep the total cost under AU$1600

there once was a similar topic but that is long dead, i decided to bring is back to see if i could fetch some more contributions, this thread is mainly made with boinc in mind but folders can drop by aswell, i'm just curious if there is any particular reasoning or interest that makes you donate the otherwise probably mostly unused processing power to the projects you are, share how you stumbled upon boinc or folding if you feel like it. doesn't have to be anything grand, maybe you just trust one project over the other to get anything useful out of the data.

Regardless if it's home made, made from someone else or re-heated fast food. Of all the things that gets reheated (and we're not even talking lazy tier microwave reheating), I have the worst luck with burger patties to the point of wanting to barf. Anyone else shares this experience with some foods being inedible after being heated back to life?

So, my question is simple. Wired, or wireless, and why? Just curious different peoples opinions, and why they made the choices they did. My opinion, would be a wired keyboard, and a wireless mouse. Reasoning would be, because I want the best keyboard possible, which as far as I can find, means a wired keyboard. However, for mice, the wire gets in my way a lot of the times. This is my opinion, share yours :D

Sup guys, this is my version of a ghetto shield. Made out of 2 PCI slot covers and some electrical tape. Using Kainy, I can stream at 480x800 (my phone's resolution) from all the way across my house with extremely low latency at high image/sound quality. I use the Sixaxis Controller app to connect my controller to my phone. I took these pictures with my phone, so I can't get any pictures with my phone in the contraption. I'll try to find another phone to do that (I might take a video to show off the latency, too)

I just saw that page http://www.cleverbot.com and I played a little bit with it. Then i wanned to here its thoughts on XBOX ONE and it said the following: NOTE: I don't want to kick of a "Tis c0ns0le is wAy better tahn teh other pice of ßöü$&"$%äöü!Ü$*Ö%!$Ä&Ö!Ü$Ö&" discusion. If you like the XBOX ONE better than PS4 thats fine. I'm a PC gamer anyway.

I just built a system (the APU builds for Build-a-thon, working on that btw) and it won't POST. The Keyboard/Mouse won't come on. The fans spin up. Everything is installed correctly, I checked thrice (three times). I re-seated the RAM DIMMs and tried each of the two separately as well as together in different slots. Nothing. Not sure what to do now. RMA?

I have a server with an 8 core Opteron and 32GB of ECC RAM. This is what Speccy reports: The RAM is 4x8GB. The OS also only reports 16GB of RAM. I'm confused as to how it can know there is 32GB of RAM, but only 16 available. That leads me to believe it's an OS issue, rather than a hardware issue, but I'm not sure. Any ideas guys?

My eyes are playing tricks on me: Link to purchase: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?SID=G57TopdsEeOriSas14OV6Q0_gXIy3_0_0_0&AID=10440897&PID=1225267&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-cables-_-na-_-na&ItemList=Combo.1569658&cm_sp= Please keep in mind it is a mail in rebate, so you have to take the time for that. In order to get the $60 rebate, you have to activate that internet security thingy online and then after that, you have to do click on the "cancel automatic renewal", so that they don't charge your credit card the year after. Here are the instructions from a user on slickdeals: After receipt, activate online [totaldefense.com] or by installing. You card will not be charged but there will be a $1 authorization. During this process you will sign up for their automatic renewal service. Use the link on your account page to "Cancel Automatic Renewal Service" [totaldefense.com]. Doing this will not impact your rebate. You may receive an error if you try to cancel immediately after activation; try again in 10 minutes. Sometimes it may take up to a couple days for the error to clear up. Several users have had issues when trying to cancel with Internet Explorer. If the "Processing Request" message hangs for more than a few seconds, try another browser such as FireFox. Submit rebate Double check your activation code when filling out the registration form. They do not validate the code at this point and a typo may cause your rebate to be denied. As requested, submit your Newegg invoice, not the packing slip, order confirmation, or anything from a third-party payment processor "Proof of purchase of Qualifying Bundle purchase" is your invoice showing both items. Avoid taping over the print on the Total Defense UPC. Acrylic tape can cause thermal labels like the Total Defense UPC to fade. Hot melt tapes Scotch brand packing tapes (except "moving & storage") do not cause this problem. Not needed for these offers, but not deleting as this wiki gets copied around: "Proof of purchase of Qualifying Bundle purchase" is your invoice showing both items. Track your rebate: You can use the "Check Rebate Status" link in the email titled "Rebate Registration Confirmation". You can also enter your information for the $60 rebate at totaldefense.4myrebate.com [4myrebate.com], but not at www.4myrebate.com. Your documentation should be received within a few weeks. If not you need to follow up ASAP. Receive rebate Cancel Automatic Renewal Service if not already done. One year from activation: subscription automatically expires without additional charges.
