I'm playing Dark Souls 3 and I notice vertical, white dotted lines flickering on the screen. It didn't last long and I carried on playing for another 10-15 minutes with no more symptoms. Haven't noticed this in other games, but haven't tested many. Considering what I said, what are the most likely culprits? Note: I haven't dusted my PC in a couple of years, so that's the first thing which came to mind. Any help is appreciated

Introduction: I always wanted to mount my GPU vertically ever since I first saw people do it. However, I already bought my case by then and was not going to upgrade anytime soon. I couldn't find any vertical mounts online so when I got a 3D printer last Christmas 2017 I decided to make my own. The mount works and is strong enough to hold my GPU. Printing: Prints in 3 parts. Part one - 20% infill, scaffolding. Part two - 100% infill, scaffolding. Part three - 100% infill, scaffolding. Notes: READ ME! You will need the following; 1x PCIE riser, 2x screws (holds gpu in place, no need to actually tighten anything), 90 degree upward DisplayPort or HDMI adapters. Ignore some of the random lines on the models, they shouldn't affect anything. They're just extra vertices from slicing/joining faces together. This was designed specifically for my PC. The important parts for this mod are as follows; Case: Corsair Graphite Series 760T GPU: ASUS Strix 980ti OC RAM: Corsair Vengeance LED MOBO: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 6 AIO: Corsair H100i v2 Wi-Fi Adapter: ASUS PCE-AC88 Pictures: License: Personal use only, No derivatives, Non-commercial (I don't want to see anyone selling my work) I say no derivatives but if it doesn't fit your PC then obviously I won't hold it against you. Only part that I will allow changing is part three, put your own logo or design on it. Give proper credit please, I spent a long time on this. If you printed this, and it works post pictures Vertical GPU Mount Part 1.stl Vertical GPU Mount Part 2.stl Vertical GPU Mount Part 3.stl

So I am plannig to mod a 460x for a vertical GPU mount. Was wondering if anyone here has done this before. I be gratefull if you guy could give me some tips. If possible id like to do it in way so the regular mounts stay useable. Will the mesh part next to the mounts be wide enougth to fit a beefy 2-slot card?

Alright, so I have a dilemma. I wanna mount a 27-inch monitor to place it next to the monitor in the picture. I want to use a C-clamp, but the desk in the picture to the right is too thick at a little over 4". I cannot drill into or damage anything except for that white drawer thing as it is all property of the university. I could make a small shelf to hang off of that wooden backboard and use c-clamp a mount on that. Any suggestions?

Hello once again friends, So I purchase this case for my new build. I was surprised to learn that it has some sort of Vertical GPU mount that it came with. My question is will this gpu mount support a 1080ti strix? or is it just for watercooled gpus? below are some links to pictures. Gallery: http://www.thermaltake.com/Chassis/Full_Tower_/Core/C_00002998/Core_X71_Tempered_Glass_Edition/Gallery.htm Picture of gpu mount (scroll down): http://www.thermaltake.com/Chassis/Full_Tower_/Core/C_00002998/Core_X71_Tempered_Glass_Edition/Design.htm EDIT: So it looks like on the case you can just thumb screw it in vertically? that with the pci extender will that be enough to support a full gpu with heatsink?

So my old, square, 1280x1024p monitor just broke on me, and now I'm stuck with one monitor again. My desk isn't big enough to support 2 monitors oriented in landscape mode, so I need one that can be rotated vertically. Any suggestions? If it is under $100, that would be ideal. Should I buy it online (ebay, amazon, craigslist) or just go looking in thrift stores for some old shitty monitors that I can get for cheap?

Hello I am looking to build my first water cooled build but am still unsure of which case to get. I need E-ATX support, which many cases provide, but I also would like a vertical gpu mount because the water cooled ekwb gpu blocks look so nice with liquid in them i would like the ability to see the front of it. I use this PC for gaming and video editing and want it to outlive me so my budget is pretty large. Any suggestions are good ones! Regards Kit

I currently have a 1440p 144hz dell display with 1440p 60hz dell displays on either side. I tend to use the left monitor more than the right and feel it is "wasted" space much of the time. If I turned it 90 degrees I would be able to see it better and maximize space on my currently cramped desk. Any thoughts from someone who has used a monitor in portrait mode? Attached is a picture of my current setup. I was also considering moving my desktop to sit behind my left monitor so it's not drawing in so much dust and cat hair off of the floor.

Hi, I want to mount a gpu inside a T710 dell but it won’t fit... I wanted to mount it vertically but the pcie express slot is on the upper part of the case, so every vertical bracket seems to be wrong for my case. Do they work anyway or there is a specific gpu vertical mount for this “contrary” scenario?

So i am starting a new Build that i was saving up for quite some time. But i'm really bad at finding the stuff i want. The Search for a proper Case has been especially annoying to me, so i'm searching for help in a more experienced audience. The Outlines of what i'm searching for: Case should be somewhat cubic or at least have a low center of mass. ROOOOOOOM. I mean seriously. i have fat hands ( i really don't; i'm just incredibly clumsy ). that's why i was initially looking for flat out cubes BUT i would like the mainboard to be mounted vertically, which most regular Cube Cases don't seem to do. I like the idea of PSU Compartments / Basements. so they are +1 Removable side-panels are must, Bonus Points for Door Panels Bonus Points for Glass but absolutely at the bottom of my priorities; the perfect side-panel would open with these car door knobs (don't know what they're called but you'll know what i mean) and a wide glass panel inside the frame. Bonus Points for Hotswap'able Drive Cages + Bonus Bonus if they're embedded in the case front. (but also really low priority, regular drive cages in the average Case are pretty good nowadays so that shouldn't be the breaking point) Mandatory USB 3.1 USB 3.0 (Bonus Points for 3.1), Bonus for Front Audio MUST be compatible with ATX Mobo and leave comfortable room for teh Cablemania. MUST be able to fit 2 full size GPUs of the current gen dimensions without making me break my pinkies and leave room for 1-2 AddIn Cards [this is more of a Mobo issue i guess but if its a case issue i felt the info shouldn't be absent]. MUST fit H100i-esque Cooling (preferably in the top at least not the bottom.) dust-filters are a big +2 please keep me from making terrible buying decisions Thanks in Advance everybody (even if you have no help for me; thanks for reading)

Hey guys, so I'm running into trouble with my GPU, but before that here's my specs: Core i5-4460 Gigabyte H97 Gigabyte R9 280x Corsair GS600 OK, so I've been having this vertical lines crashes with my GPU since last month, I thinkg it's common in AMD gpus. It always happen when in games that use GPU, not necessarily GPU intensive games, I've tried: GTA V : not a problem Witcher 3: not a problem Payday 2: less than an hour Guild Wars 2: less than an hour Furmark: almost immediately Temp is normal (below 72C), and airflow is really good. A couple days back I uninstalled all amd drivers and reinstalls it, I think I fixed it unitl yesterday the crashes occured again, tried the same method thsi time and it doesn't work like the last.

Hi fellow techies, I was wondering if there is a monitor arm/stacker plate that I can screw onto a monitor. The arm/stacker would have a pole attached to the vesa plate that I can screw another monitor onto. Something like a cheap, dual vertical monitor arm would also work BUT my desk depth is very limited and wall mounting is not an option. Anything like this? If not maybe a good alternative? Horizontal monitors is not an option (again, limited desk space) For all the smarta$$es, buying a new desk is NOT an option. Hope you can help - ReThorb_

So I've been looking around for quite a while now for a case with two vertical PCIe slots, that also stands upright, but the best I could find is a single vertical PCIe slot such as on the cooler master cosmos 2 (see image for vertical pcie slot, it's on the back right side of the case) Seeing how essentially all high end GPUs are double slot cards, they won't quite fit a single pcie slot.. Taking this sound card as an example (or at least what I assume is a sound card), it sits in the case vertically, imagine if you could do the same with your GPU, that way the side that I'd call the front (The side with the fans) is facing out towards the window, instead of down where it will never be seen. Has anyone here attempted something like this? If so, how did it work out? how did you try to do it?" I'd likely end up trying it with a case such as the Corsair Air 540, or maybe the Fractal Design Define R5, as they have a fair amount of space between the tops of the current PCIe slots, and the case sidepanel. I know that I'd be able to make a single vertical PCIe slot work if I had a single slot GPU, though high end single slot gpus typically require custom watercooling, which is something I do not have the money for. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sub £10 Monitor Mod Introduction I've been after a vertical monitor stand for a while, but the cheap ones just bolt on to your desk, which I'm not a fan of, the others? They're a little more expensive and times are hard at the moment. So, why not make my own!? Until today, I'd never really thought about doing it myself, perhaps the office refurb I've been actively taking part in got the DIY flowing in me. So I set out to to make my monitor vertical. I first unscrewed the monitor stand to see how it attaches and funny enough, it had 2 screws going through a bracket, easy! Next, how can I make this stand fit onto the VESA mount? Well why not use a small cut of Ply or MDF right? Sure it's not the most sleek solution, but it works... and it's cheap, that fits my criteria! What do I actually need to achieve this? A drill. An off cut of Ply or MDF, I measured 13cm x 19cm to be the ft for me. 6 bolts, long enough to clear the board and have a decent thread length into the monitor. 6 washers, I however I used 10. Ruler or long measuring device... Paint, completely optional. The Mod I've listed the parts above and they came in very cheap, infact under £10, the MDF was an off-cut, 50p and was cut to size for free! As for the bolts, nuts and washers they were a few quid, all sourced from B&Q (UK). However I'm sure this could come in cheaper, or at no cost if you have some bolts that fit kicking around and a spare off cut at home.

Vertical tear on main monitor when my tv is connected
I0nicAvenger posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Whenever i plug mt tv into my video card (MSI gtx 970) the picture comes up clear and just fine on the tv, but on my main monitor i will have vertical tear while playing games, watching youtube, etc... The tv is connected via VGA cable with an adapter. The monitor is using a DVI cable. Can anyone help? -
I want to be able to stack them vertically. They have to support 2 29" monitors. I want to be able to tilt the upper monitor so that it is facing down slightly.

Hello. So... I was playing Skyrim with mods, after like 30 min in game everything stopped and some green vertical lines appeared (as in attachment) on the whole screen. I couldn't do anything, not even ctrl-alt-del , so i restarted my pc from the button. What do you think it is? I think this is my graphics card , but i don't know. (If this is not the right thread for asking this, I beg your pardon)

Hey everyone, I was recently looking at a Build Log http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=221316 and noticed the vertical card showing the waterblock nicely. I did some further looking into this andnfound something called a "Riser Card" http://www.ameri-rack.com/PCI-EXPRESS.htm A frustratingly bad website with little information. I was wondering if anyone knew of something like this. A pci express 3.0 extention cable. Thanks!

Hi guys, I think this is actually the first time in my years of building and using PC's that I've had to start a topic for help with something technical. Anyway, here's the problem - I got a 7970 at the start of last year and ran into some really annoying (maybe a little more than annoying) issues. The main thing was that I'd get strange vertical stripes down both of my screens, that's the only thing you could see on them and you could only restart the machine. At first I thought this was maybe overheating or this and that, but the issue would happen regardless of where I was. I could be playing a game, browsing the net or I'd even be away from the thing and it would still happen. I was about to RMA it but AMD released new drivers and the problem magically went away, never got it again. Since then I'm not too sure if I have ever updated my drivers (surely I must have), but I did update them to the 13.12 drivers and oh here's the vertical stripes again. I'm also getting any game using a controller drop frames from say 100fps down to 15fps after a few minutes. If I move my mouse or hit a key on my keyboard, it will jump back up to 100fps for another minute before it happens again. I'm going to try some older drivers now (I've been Driver Sweeping each time), and hopefully the issue will be gone. But I don't really want to be afraid of updating my drivers all the time and not being able to get all the latest optimisations for games. Any help would be appreciated.
