I'm in college and cannot use my current laptop for more then 2 hrs before it dies. I am trying to find a tablet or laptop that has great battery life and works with a pen so i can actually write my notes instead of typing them. I looked at the new Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and S8+ but they are pricey and don't know if there is a better option that isn't Apple.

Hello, So i was wondering if it's possible to attach a 30 pin connector of the LCD monitor to the 40 pin socket of the Dell Inspiron 15 5558. Since my monitor of the laptop broke and i don't need a touchscreen for it, an LCD would suffice. So im curious if it would work connecting it this way. Or if i would need to pay double for a replacement touchscreen instead of a normal LCD.

So.. in the case of having two screen, one of them being a little touchscreen, how do you stop the touch input from repositioning the mouse cursor? At the moment, if I do anything at all with the touchscreen then I need to then move the cursor back on to the main monitor (which isn't a touchscreen). I really want them working independently. Is there some Windows setting that let's you do this? I'm on Windows 11 here.

Hello! I'm trying to use OBS Multiview as a scene switcher, by displaying it in full screen on a spacedesk screen on a tablet. But everytime i touch the screen to switch scenes, the mouse moves to the touched location. I then have to move it back to my main display before i can continue with whatever i'm doing. Is there any way to tell the mouse to just stay where it was and still activate the scene? Thanks for your help, mistermodcreator

Greetings specialists, so the other day I got a request of finding hardware with the following requirements. Note: no apple product. - it has to run Adobe products (especially Photoshop and AfterEffects), with the possibility to work on high quality frame-by-frame animations - it has to have a touchscreen and be convertible, to work on things like this outdoors (at a café or while in a meeting) - able to run some youtube videos - able to run some games at normal/medium quality, with the words mentioned "at least it shouldn't lag, it's fine if it is ugly". What tags I've already tried to look for: - convertible - high Adobe RGB coverage - 2-in-1 laptops And because of the recommended Adobe requirements, also: -16 Gigs of RAM - 512 gigs of harddrive as a minimum (or at least 256 gigs with microSSD option) But with everything said, I cannot find the perfect fit to complete the request. Sometimes its the screen or the laptop just has no convertible option. Especially my knowledge about Intel Graphics-cards (Intel UHD, Intel Iris) kills me over and over again. So after 20 hours of pain, I decided to ask you! Please help me! (max. ~1500€, cheaper is always welcome EU, Germany)

hi guys, i'm trying to fix a weird problem with this zenbook touch screen, i've just installed a CLEAN windows 10 since i bought this convertible laptop used, i'm experiencing a super weird driver/software issue with the touchscreen, without clibrating the touchscreen the X axis is inverted even though THE WHOLE SCREEN works fine, when i get to calibrate the touchscreen about 2/3 of the screen works, and somehow going above 3/4 of the X axis from top to bottom as if i was going to "select" the whole desktop the selection ratio looks like if the whole screen was "18:9" plus, when i'm trying to tap on the screen the actual tap is shifted a couple centimers on the right from where i give the touch imput. - windows 10 is fully updated - all drivers are updated using driverscloud.com utility - tried many times to uninstall the drivers manually via device manager and refresh in for windows to install the default drivers, nothing changes. i've tried many times today to fix this issue by myself but i can't find a way, someone on the microsoft forum says that issue is from intel side and that updating the graphic drivers works, but even if i manually update the drivers downloading them from intel using the intel driver utility everything remains the same with no changes. another problem is that when i try to install Asus FlipLock it doesn't work at all in a clean windows 10 and i'm stuck with the keyboard and touchpad always on when it's flipped over. Screen rotation though works more then fine. anyone has a clue about this touch issue? it would help A LOT cause at least i would be able to manually triggher the tablet mode and keyboard and mouse should (hopefully) be blocked. thanks a lot!

I turn on my laptop (Lenovo Yoga Y520) like usual but somehow the touchscreen doesnt work but the pen does, so I go ahead disable the driver and enable it again but that doesnt work, So I uninstall the driver hoping the window will reinstall it with a fresh driver and that also doesnt work too. So what should do next? I'm thinking a bios update and hoping it will work again. I have tried to update the touchscreen filmware from lenovo official website, but when I install the filmware it says target device not found. Also the display flicker like when the driver is being installed but after the flicker another problem came in, there is a square artifact on the display. I didn't open anything yet im just on the desktop and there is a smal square artifact. The artifact size is about 1 inch x 1 inch. So does anyone know how to fix it? Soon I will do a fresh windows install if the methods on the internet doesnt work. Any response will be helpful Thank you

Hey everyone, I hope you have a nice weekend I would love to get your recommendations for some new hardware. I already have a pretty beefy PC for development at home but I would love to get a new laptop with touch input for concepting and planning. I am a huge fan of concepting/scribbling with a pen on touchscreens. Do you have any recommendations for laptops with touch? I am currently looking at the Microsoft Surface Pro 7 and the Lenovo Ideapad FLex 5. I put then on comparison list here: https://skinflint.co.uk/?cmp=2430333&cmp=2150577

I have an HTC U Play which is around 3 years old now (as i remember) and Im having this touchscreen issue with it where sometimes its taking the inputs from the wrong places of the screen, sometimes it swipes back on forth between pages on its own and sometimes it doesnt take any input at all. The reason I say its strange is because I have never dropped this phone, so I can ensure theres no physical damage atleast. And the issue goes away when I press the power button and unlock it again, sometimes goes away for few hours, sometimes for a couple of minutes and sometimes it doesnt fix at all. Sometimes the phone requires one or more restarts to get the touchscreen to respond properly again. I thought something from the software side was corrupted so I reset the phone and with no apps installed, it still had the issue. I tried updating the phone as well and that didnt help either. I also noticed that the Issue has a greater tendency of happening when trying to use the phone while plugged into the charger. What could be the problem? Is the touchscreen in my phone giving away?

My brother dropped my dad's Chromebook, breaking its screen. So, we bought a replacement panel on eBay from a seller with good ratings. The model number of the listing matched the broken panel (I checked it 3 times); the eBay listing very clearly says it is a touch screen panel. When the panel arrived, I performed a swap. When I powered it on, the image worked fine. However, it registered no touch. To troubleshoot, I swapped back to the first, broken panel (about 1/4 of it is still usable). It registered my touch inputs fine, so I know the rest of the laptop isn't damaged. I assumed that the eBay seller sent me a defective panel, so I got a free replacement from them. I performed the swap again and got the same results. I did the same troubleshooting steps, and the broken panel still registered touch. Could there be differences in the panels I didn't notice? I see the H/W thing, does that matter enough? Is there some calibration step I need to do? Attached are pictures of the panels as well as the laptop.

Hi! I have a 7 inch touchscreen model MPI7001 that I bought a long time ago for a raspi project but it's just laying around now. I was wondering if there is a piece of software that could help me transform it into some kind of homemade StreamDeck. So I could have tiles with images and subfolders just like the deck but with a touchscreen. I can't really have another keyboard for macros and it would look nice on my desk. If anyone knows about something that could do something like that I would be really thankfull. Thanks!

Hey all, I've come for my Linux Tech Tips. So I've got this question that should actually be common, but my Google-fu didn't turn up a solution. I've got two 24" Dell P2418HT touchscreen monitors connected to a PC running X.org on CentOS 7, with MATE desktop. I've got the desktop extended across the two monitors as configured within MATE, one is left, the other is right. The problem I have is that the touch input is not scaled right, motion on one touchscreen causes 2x horizontal movement across both monitors. I suspect this is due to the fact that it thinks that the input device controls the entire desktop space, rather than within the limits of a single monitor. The touchscreens are connected to USB.What is the approach for configuring a particular touchscreen to move pointer only within bounds of it's own monitor? I believe the term is "mapping".Machine specs are as follows:Shuttle DH370 barebonei5-8400Intel UHD Graphics 630Monitors connected via DPResolution is 1920x1080 on eachCentOS 7.6.1810 (per /etc/redhat-release)I'm not sure where to start looking in terms of configuring the touchscreen inputs and bounds. This machine is intended to be used without mouse or keyboard.Help is much appreciated.

Hello Guys, I have been struggling to find a driver for the touchscreen for ASUS Transformer Book Flip TP300LA. There's nothing on Asus website and I thought that Windows would deal with it automatically after installation but it hasn't and I don't know what else to do or where else to look for it. Laptop works fine just touchscreen isn't. Any tips appreciated, cheers

Articles: The Verge, Android Central, 9to5Google, XDA Developers, Android Police, Android Headlines, and Stadia Source Reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stadia/comments/f8e33w/touchstadia_you_can_now_play_stadia_on_android/ Hi folks! I recently got TouchStadia working for Android, and it seems that many people are enjoying being able to play Stadia with on-screen controls! I think that TouchStadia works pretty well, though I am obviously biased as the developer. I hope that you're able to give it a shot if you have a Stadia account, and to draw your own conclusions about it! Here's a video of TouchStadia working on Android: Here are some quotes from the linked articles: The Verge: 9to5Google: XDA Developers: I hope posting content created by myself is appropriate in this forum! Cheers!

Here's the thing, I bought a little 8 inch windows 10 tablet and I wanna use it for old games and one of those games is "midtown madness 2" but it needs a mouse to start otherwise it crashes, and I don't really need a mouse since the tablet is touchscreen and I don't really want to have a USB stick out of it just to connect a mouseSo is there any way possible to add like a "fake" non existent mouse to the device manager just to trick the game to start? (something that would appear in the device manager as an HID-compliant mouse without actually having it?)

Got a project at work, and I am looking to getting 1-2 touchscreen TV's that either use a thin-client, or built in computer - Windows 10 OS. Any suggestions, or what's the ones y'all use? The use will be to either run a simple program of machine monitoring, and running a couple excel sheets (that can get very complex)

Hello So I have an Acer Chromebook R11 lying around with Chrome OS on it (obviously). I was wondering if I installed Windows 10 on it using the various online guides, if the touchscreen functionality would still work. Does Windows have the necessary drivers or are there drivers that can be intsalled for this specific model? Or are there other ways in which i could get windows 10 software to run natively? Many thanks

Ok. So i have a Zephyrus G i take with me to uni for notes and this and that. But the thing is it obviously doesnt have a touch screen meaning i cant write any notes on it. Now there is this device called the AirBar : I figured if i got this thing and paired it with a stylus i could have a machine that could easily take hand written notes too now. But its a $100 in Canada and stylus not included. yall have any thoughts on the matter or other options, alternatives? Just curious.

Hi! For my gaming PC, I only have one screen and I encounter problems when I want to do a quick research while playing, and some games won't let me open other apps while playing. I was thinking of getting a little touchscreen monitor, like around 8", between 50-100$ CAD, supporting HDMI. Is this a good idea? And if so, do you have any recommendations? Thanks! P.S: I have a Gigabyte RX 570 Gaming OC 4GB, and my actual monitor is a Lenovo T2454PA (24" Full HD)
