Hello Everyone, This thread is just to post the worst funny/annoying things you've heard from anyone about technology. Mine was this just a few days ago, when i went to a shop and asked price of an i7 6700k and Asrock z170 Extreme 4 motherboard. The shopkeeper told me that i would get both of them in just 234.351 US Dollars Yes! I was totally shocked and next day i went to him to buy it this is what happened Me: Hey! I need the i7 6700k + Asrock z170 EXT 4 motherboard that i asked for yesterday Shopkeeper (by looking at the quotation and prices he gave me yesterday) : For what purpose are you going to use this system Sir. Me: Mostly Rendering. Shopkeeper: Sir, you can't use this Processor for rendering Me: Why! ( i was shocked to hear what comes next) Shopkeeper: Sir this i7 6700k i wrote about is Single Core Single Thread Processor! Hell Yeah! He said that! I was entirely shocked after hearing this. The reason why he said this was he realized that he can't sell me in the price he said. So he told me that i'll need the Quad Core Eight Threads variant of i7 6700k  I was even more shocked when he said that these processors come in three variant, they are: Single Core Single Thread Dual Core Four Threads and Quad Core Eight Threads I just simply walked out of there without saying anything. Technology had just gone in the 1990's and i realized that i'm a total dumb who thought i7 6700k was only Quad core with Eight Threads :'( Time to leave this planet

Hey guys! I've always wanted to get into tech reviews on YouTube, because I've been doing let's plays for about 3 years now... and let's be honest, that's boring. I want to do stuff like UnboxTherapy or Austin Evans or Linus, but how would I ever be able to afford that stuff? if I can't pay for the technology to review, I don't understand how to get started. I guess I can review my own personal Blue Yeti and technology... but how do I get big enough for companies to even want to send me their stuff? Thanks, and please try to help me if you know ANYTHING about YouTube tech reviews. Thanks, -Jordan - By the way, I figured "Tech Reviews" was the best category to put this in. Please don't get mad.

i love the pace on how fast technology is advancing , but for the last 3 years i've been trying to upgrade my PC but haven't actually succeded on it , but looking back now, if i've bought a flagship product at that time whether it be a smartphone or a GPU or a CPU right now it's almost obsolete like right now the GPU or CPU refresh cycle it's coming in quarterly & even newer & better instructions & hardware tweaks architecture advance are applied evrytime when it gets introduced , but from an average consumer perspective if i spend on the best hardware/tech available for a premium price (at that time) 3-6 months later an even better product is simply flushed into the market wiping away the other ones from the performance tier, also this is being systemic routine these days, it might be good , but you understand this right? looking back at your purchase history & seeing a fresh updated products wondering if you had waited a bit you could've had a better piece of the pie & then that gets outdate (in a way) .. take iphone/samsung series as an example i do think they have the technology lined up for the coming years & ready for manufacturing, but they segment it & resource that as the new one & keep the business running, but i think as a consumer it kinda hurts a bit inside when you knew you spend a lot on a premium title products, next day it's not so premium anymore.. So that's something i noticed , what are your thoughts on this ? Post away? *PS: Sorry for the meme at the begining*

The police seem to not like the fact that this app exists for use by the general public it seems. I know its a point of contention that people have access to near instantaneous reports with respect to accidents and speed cameras. I'm of the opinion that the police forces need to spend less time worrying about how to hand out speeding tickets and more time patrolling the roads for actually dangerous drivers. We've had this issue in our city too, the City runs our program and they get awfully butthurt when people challenge their claims about "increasing driver safety" and whatever else to justify the expense of photo radar programs. Then again, they'll do anything to protect their golden parachutes from being plastered with holes. Instead of saying "for the children" they're saying "for the greater good". Excellent improvement, isn't it? http://globalnews.ca/news/1800136/police-expand-concerns-about-waze-app-say-it-interferes-with-speeding-tickets/

So, it's shaping up to be an interesting day. President Obama essentially called out the EU. If you didn't know, the past few years have been a slurry of different regulations from the European Union towards American-based companies. And obviously, he's had enough. "Barack Obama has angered officials in Europe after suggesting that investigations by the European Union into companies like Google and Facebook were "commercially driven." In an interview with Recode, the president claimed that European "service providers who … can’t compete with ours, are essentially trying to set up some roadblocks for our companies to operate effectively there." The truth, however, is more nuanced than this. Obama says: "We have owned the internet. Our companies have created it, expanded it, perfected it in ways that they can’t compete. And oftentimes what is portrayed as high-minded positions on issues sometimes is just designed to carve out some of their commercial interests." Maybe it's me... but being petty about this kind of thing is really not worthwhile when so much bad is going on in the world. The internet is not a country's doing, Mr. Obama. It's the world's doing. It's not for one country to "rule", it's not for one man to oversee. It's the overwhelming sea of knowledge just waiting to be grasped. If you can't grab on without claiming we own(ed) it, then you surely have more to learn. On lynda.com/linus perhaps? The same is true for the EU, so don't think I'm hounding just one. Everyone needs to realize that the internet is bigger than one person... even Potus. Source: The Verge

Found this review quite intersting, Quite often You wont get to see the makings of a motherboards before they're send out to being made pretty for functionality & to ease our eyes into buying the damn thing, This was send out by ASUS to TTL upon request i believe This is a Complety naked Motherboard PCB With literally no fittings on it, just nothing , except the printed circuit region on the board is visible , it's an x99 deluxe motherboard from ASUS & as you know it houses an intel processor with ddr4 support & not even the socket pins are added at this point , it's ground zero , meaning straight out from the assembly line.. Alright Let's begin.. Review Courtesy : OC3DTV/RushKit Reviewer : Tiny Tom Logan MotherBoard : ASUS X99-Deluxe Intel X99 Socket 2011-v3 DDR4 ATX (asus extra pinned version) Picture Time! Okay So this is the Original Layout of the motherboard after the finishing touches, looks gorgeous like Snow white... Alright now to the more interesting stuff, Hang on to your knickers... Initial side by side comparison Magic , PCB dissapeared..(looks like a useless cardboard at this angle) Close up of CPU socket region , MOSFETs, chokes fitting space visible (also those extra cpu pins from ASUS) Close up of RamDim fittings & I/O at top end Blank Chipset fitting surface along with the sata port/memory to it's right (thumb covered) Bottom Half of the Mobo PCIE slot & Audio chipset fitting frame also the bios chip Midway , The belly of the beast..audio & wireless I/O layout can be seen Now on to the backside.. Kinda uninteresting But do note that this exposed regions will be coated, Bottom half behind the back And there she is.. Quite a beauty aint she? This was quite interesting nerd/geek/techie thingy , Hope you found this interesting , Please do post your thoughts & comments right down there & tell me what you think.. PS: like he said would make an AWESOME wall clock outta that blank PCB , sadly i think TTL has to to send this back so ... Source: Full video review : (close to 5 minutes i think unlike his other extended reviews) It's pretty good do chek it out.. Google seems to be working on technology (as according to a recent paper that was published) that can in fact tell you whether OP is full of shit or not. Hopefully. It would be interesting to see how they would implement this into their services (maybe rank sites based off some obscure measure of how "truthful" they are, or whatever else. Certainly a neat idea, thats for sure. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-intersect/wp/2015/03/02/google-has-developed-a-technology-to-tell-whether-facts-on-the-internet-are-true/

Venture Capitalist Says We Have Entered a Tech Bubble Source: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-03-05/this-venture-capitalist-is-willing-to-say-we-re-in-a-tech-bubble It seems we are in a high risk high reward market when it comes to investing in technology companies. I am no expert on the matter but alot of these companies do seem to be inflated for what they offer, service. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next 5 to 10 years. what are your thoughts on this bubble?

Recently the FTC has filed a complaint against AT&T for throttling Data when users pass their allotted bandwidth. If there in a win here we could see a domino effect, plausibly spreading to ISPs that offer "Unlimited" bandwidth (Like mine SuddenLink) that is really just a cap the "average consumer" won't hit. The Federal Trade Commission filed a federal court complaint against AT&T Mobility, LLC, charging that the company has misled millions of its smartphone customers by charging them for “unlimited” data plans while reducing their data speeds, in some cases by nearly 90 percent. The FTC’s complaint alleges that the company failed to adequately disclose to its customers on unlimited data plans that, if they reach a certain amount of data use in a given billing cycle, AT&T reduces – or “throttles” – their data speeds to the point that many common mobile phone applications – like web browsing, GPS navigation and watching streaming video – become difficult or nearly impossible to use. “AT&T promised its customers ‘unlimited’ data, and in many instances, it has failed to deliver on that promise,” said FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramirez. “The issue here is simple: ‘unlimited’ means unlimited.” According to the FTC’s complaint, AT&T’s marketing materials emphasized the “unlimited” amount of data that would be available to consumers who signed up for its unlimited plans. The complaint alleges that, even as unlimited plan consumers renewed their contracts, the company still failed to inform them of the throttling program. When customers canceled their contracts after being throttled, AT&T charged those customers early termination fees, which typically amount to hundreds of dollars. The FTC alleges that AT&T, despite its unequivocal promises of unlimited data, began throttling data speeds in 2011 for its unlimited data plan customers after they used as little as 2 gigabytes of data in a billing period. According to the complaint, the throttling program has been severe, often resulting in speed reductions of 80 to 90 percent for affected users. Thus far, according to the FTC, AT&T has throttled at least 3.5 million unique customers a total of more than 25 million times. According to the FTC’s complaint, consumers in AT&T focus groups strongly objected to the idea of a throttling program and felt “unlimited should mean unlimited.” AT&T documents also showed that the company received thousands of complaints about the slow data speeds under the throttling program. Some consumers quoted the definition of the word “unlimited,” while others called AT&T’s throttling program a “bait and switch.” Many consumers also complained about the effect the throttling program had on their ability to use GPS navigation, watch streaming videos, listen to streaming music and browse the web. The complaint charges that AT&T violated the FTC Act by changing the terms of customers’ unlimited data plans while those customers were still under contract, and by failing to adequately disclose the nature of the throttling program to consumers who renewed their unlimited data plans. FTC staff worked closely on this matter with the staff of the Federal Communications Commission. The Commission vote authorizing the staff to file the complaint was 5-0. The complaint was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, San Francisco Division. NOTE: The Commission files a complaint when it has “reason to believe” that the law has been or is being violated and it appears to the Commission that a proceeding is in the public interest. The case will be decided by the court. The Federal Trade Commission works for consumers to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices and to provide information to help spot, stop, and avoid them. To file a complaint in English or Spanish, visit the FTC’s online Complaint Assistant or call 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357). The FTC enters complaints into Consumer Sentinel, a secure, online database available to more than 2,000 civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad.
