Hi all, sorry to bother you all for such a stupid, queston/request. I just learned that my girlfriend was pregnant (Hourray, congrats etc ...) but it was a huge surprise on our side, so nothing is ready Since I am an « old/still there » hard gamer and pc builder, my question is if any other t-shirts/polo are available - other then the ones onlines ? I am living in Luxembourg (yeah it is a country - middle of Germany, France and belgium) so the sending fee are of 50$, so I wanted to know if something more « personnel » would be possible if payed for ? (Love the behind of Linus office, pictures/3D of pc material) Sorry for all the mistakes, and if this question doesn’t belong here, didn’t saw any other place to ask this ? good day

Good Afternoon/Morning Just an Idea for a series of Tech Tips video's i'd like to see as I imagine Linus and his sense of humour would really make this fun to watch. Could you make a series of video's of each Version of Microsoft windows installing it onto a system that only just meets the minimum requirements, as lets face it there's no way they'd run nicely. I hope this reaches Linus and the team, I'd like to here your thoughts on this and if you think this would be quite funny. Cheers Jim Dawson

Some may recall that about a month ago, I believe, Linus and Alex tackled a custom case built in pyramidal shape, which was proven to be a horrible idea. Well, a AZZA took notice and thought to themselves that it was a GREAT idea to do the same exact thing. Here i present the AZZA Pyramidal case, for the cheap price of 300 US pennies. https://www.newegg.com/black-azza-pyramid-804v-atx-mid-tower/p/2AM-004W-00016?item=2AM-004W-00016&source=region&nm_mc=bac-gdr-ca-pc&cm_mmc=bac-gdr-ca-pc-_-dyn-_-cases+(computer+cases+-+atx+form)-_-2AM-004W-00016&gclid=CjwKCAjwwab7BRBAEiwAapqpTIcACWO9bFgUkzRuWYrR76HXw_7WW6FPmTH39Oygw60cNaIxlgiR2xoCUHAQAvD_BwE Great stuff really.

So I'm not exactly old being only 22, regardless of the fact I feel like a 90 year old on dialysis... But I remember growing up in the wave of consoles, from the N64 to XB360 during which time I was a kid, and being a kid was a bit of a dick for my parents to look after. But I always had a console, and would play games whenever I could thus my parents decided to start limiting my time on my consoles until I was older, and was dumb enough to be accountable for my own mistakes. If I didn't want to come of my console my parents took that shit away, no matter how much I screamed or tantrumed about it, it was taken away, I wasn't allowed it again for a day or two. End of story. So this article about a 9y/o addicted to Fortnite, to me personally sounds more like shitty parenting rather than an addictive game. If she had been told NO, like some of us where, like a parent should do when their child is a little shit, she would probably have never had this sort of thing happen I would just like to hear some other opinions about this article, and the whole video game addiction situation that is now starting to become a thing http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5826465/Girl-nine-rehab-addicted-Fortnite-video-game-wet-herself.html

hp What can I do to fix HP's stupidity?
Chaos Network posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
What can I do to fix HP's stupidity on this laptop? Does it have a 2.5" drive bay that i could put something in? HP Notebook - 14-an012nr (ENERGY STAR) That is the model. It has 32GB of storage, of which I can only use 7 because of system reserved and Windows.Old. I am trying to just use it to play GMOD on because it will be better than my 2011 MacBook Air with 4GB of RAM and a dual core i5 clocked at 1.5 GHz. But i go to join the server i want to play on and I have enough space to download most of the resources for the server, until I need to download the map, then it runs out. Can i put a 2.5 inch drive in this to fix this problem? -
well i thought id get an up grade for my pc and bought a 1050 ti card just to find out its a sideways upgrade 5% in performance so i've been told in power in fact the only thing i can see that's better than my old gtx 960 4gb is its usese less power so ill call it a green upgrade so can anyone tell me after ive saved up again what card i should be looking at and what sort of performance boost i can expect can expect i know i'm a tit i fell for the bigger number should be better doh!! just call me homer

Well, it's kinda stupid for a Maxwell card, but I did it. I got my GTX 960 up to 1.5Ghz! (And yes, it's stable) Any thoughts?

This is just..... beyond stupid. Source: https://kotaku.com/ubisoft-accidentally-releases-assassin-s-creed-origins-1822135300 Not much more to this. Ubisoft is just f**king stupid to do this in my opinion. You made a mistake, okay, just leave it out and let everyone play. What friggin difference does a week make? I'm sure it has something to do with marketing and contracts and making the marketing team feel like they actually do something important beyond needlessly increasing the overhead of making games. I just.... I do not understand how this company is successful with all the dumb shit they pull. You are now free to post your digging memes. Edit: My tone could probably have been better here. I am more laughing at Ubisoft over what I see as a comical mistake, followed up by an even more comical boneheaded move. Not actually angry at them. Edit the second: I'm also kind of shocked because I've never heard of a company accidentally releasing a product early, much less unreleasing it especially when people were buying it anyways.

Hello. So, three days ago, my LG G4 suddenly started to shut down. Every time I've tried to start it up, it just locks itself at the "Life's Good" and logo, what usually comes up right before I get into log-in screen. I don't know what might have caused this. Should I factory reset my phone?

Hi guys, I'm a complete beginner when it comes to pc building, I've researched enough about reviews of components and used pcpart picker to check compatability with my parts, and ordered them, but I'm unsure as to if they will fit/work together regardless. I tried to spend more to avoid skimping on important parts(I have no idea!) Here's the build: Case: bequiet Dark Base 700 CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 Mobo: MSI b450 gaming pro carbon ac GPU: XFX Radeon 5700 XT Thicc III Ultra 8 GB RAM: Corsair vengeance RGB Pro 16gb(2x8) 3200C16 Cooler: Cooler Master ML360r liquid cooler SSD: Samsung evo 860 1TB SATA PSU: Corsair rm650 Gold Fully modular 650W OS: Windows 10 home USB As a noob I have a few questions, please bear with me!: 1. Obvious and a bit late since I've ordered, but will all the parts actually work with each other? Lol (pcpartpicker doesnt say anything, but its sketchy because it doesnt have the exact component name for some of the parts) 2. I've checked the dimensions of the case and my GPU, since it looks so bloody big I'm not sure if it will fit? The dimensions are confusing, or I'm just blind.... 3. Everyone seems to be talking about thermal paste, and since I'm stupid and went with the complicated liquid cooling idk if I should use the one that comes with the cooler or buy another one? If CM provides one. 4. Do I need to buy anything else? I have the peripherals(mouse, monitor and keyboard), but do I need any extra screws/cables? I read about magnetic screwdrivers and some anti static stuff for building, what do you guys reccomend? 5. As I've never built before, how would I go about installing the water cooler(before I mount the mobo?) Most guides I've seen don't cover water cooling. 6. Finally, if anyone would be able to estimate the avg performance/thermals my setup should normally produce(so I know if I need to return anything for warranty). Can I/should I overclock? I'd only use this to play games. Not sure if I should get a 2k or 4k monitor, can my setup support either? 7. General building tips for a complete beginner? Anything! Thanks so much, I'm just really worried as I spent what I think is a lot on a pc, and being stupid don't know what I'm getting myself into. Any help appreciated! :)

Look Linus, you face trolls. But when your ENTIRE twitch chat is calling for you to redo the beginning, maybe you should listen. The beginning of your show today was completely missed, and you still went on. @LinusTech@Slick

Hello everybody hope you are in for a good laugh at my stupidity. So I hate Windows 10 mostly for the fact that it is spying on me, cant stand it, want it gone. But alas I need it to play all of my pc games and vr games on. So I have the crazy idea to stuff windows into a tiny little cage of a vm and only use it to launch steam, gog, and oculus. The rest of my computing will be done through linux. I'm sure it would be easier to use to separate pc's plugged into one monitor but where is the fun in that? I want an aio type solution here! that also means only one m/k set (that's where synergy comes in). Anyway the list of parts I plan on using is as follows: intel 5820K (4 threads for linux and 8 for windows) -amd 490x (for windows) (maybe 2 in crossfire if unraid will let me) -2x nvidea 710s (one for unraid and one for linux) --Getting the evga 710s because they will look nice -32gb RAM (16 per vm, got to love chrome) -2x 240gb ssds -~3tb hdd storage -other parts I haven't decided on yet So tell me what yall think guys. Am I stupid or do you think I can pull it off? thanks for the feedback, its appreciated.

So first off, I apologize for being somewhat vague on the finer details (there will be a build log starting in a few days), but suffice to say that I have run into clearance issues using any sort of reservoir in a new system I am playing with and wanted to know how feasible it would be to fill a hard loop without a reservoir - assuming I had a T-Junction and could temporarily fit a small res at the top of the loop for filling purposes? In addition, bleeding is going to cause me a few headaches so wanted to know if anyone had done something stupid like this previously and was it even moderately successful?

First, I'm all for good rated psu, because it's one of the important components when you want to a good and stable system. Them on the other hand, their psu criteria is getting too damn high. Out of their current list there is 6 Platinum ,3 Titanium, and 7 Gold, but not a single Bronze. Well for some people on a budget, gold might be out of reach, so a Bronze will do, but when you use their list to buy your psu, you can't cause there is no bronze and you have no idea what to get. And who in their mind will spend over $100 on a 650w psu, just because it's Platinum rated? Looking at their psu requirements, it won't be long when they update their best psu list to include only platinum and titanium rated ones and gold will be left on the side like the bronze. This is why LTT's PSU suggestions are better, it's more down to Earth with wide ranges of prices that can be afforded by everyone, even those on a tight budget. In the past, they only accept dual rad aio as the only ones you should get, while single rad are all crap, imo that was just ridiculous. So no surprise here when it comes to their best psu list. This one of the psu they recommended it EVGA 650W Platinum http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438055&ignorebbr=1 For the exact same price, you can grab a higher wattage psu, that's just as efficient as that Platinum rated one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438017&ignorebbr=1 http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-psus,4229.html

Infinite booting screen on my Toshiba Satellite C50A-03F... I started to have a long booting time and I tried testing the hard disk but it was fine. I have no malware or viruses on it but it just decided "Nope! No retro gaming here kid" and quit on me. I tried booting in safe mode and booting from an external disk but the thing is just dead. I literally cleaned my logitech keyboard before it booted. I took off every single key and took a 12 minute jog and nothing. After a few hours it finally booted and that was the last time I would see my desktop for 5 days. Its just murdered by its own OS. Help?

Hey guys! I decided to try and mess with a cheapo USB Microscope from China. http://www.ebay.com/itm/50-500X-2MP-USB-8-LED-Light-Digital-Microscope-Endoscope-Camera-Magnifier-/161914847580 Few bucks and it arrived home, now here's the fun part. It has an adjustable LED ring around the webcam which I can turn brighter or dimmer with a little wheel on the cable, works fine. HOWEVER, this stupid camera just pumps up the gain or turns it lower once you mess with the light. This totally makes the thing obsolete. Now, this would produce a proper image if it wasn't for the fact that I need to stitch the pictures together in Photoshop, and the changing light conditions (which the bloody thing does itself) mess up the image. I tried finding software that allowed me to turn off Auto Iris and stuff, but no luck. It is recognized in Skype as a normal webcam and I do get settings which I can mess with, I can even turn off Gain alltogether, but it still pumps up the brightness regardless. I found some guy on Mac which did get it working, but obviously that little line of code doesnt work on Windows. Anything I can try to make this thing listen to me? Thanks in advance!

I'm doing L'Hospital's Rule and there are three problems I'm stuck on and I just absolutely can't figure them out... even when using Google. :p So here they are: 1) lim(x->0) (1/x - 1/ln(1+x)) I'm getting 2 for this but WolframAlpha is telling me I should be getting -1/2 2) lim(x->1) x^(1/(x-1)) I haven't gotten an answer for this but I'm stuck in a product/quotient rule process that seems to be getting infinitely messy, and usually the rule of this class thus far has been "if it gets messy you're doing something wrong or there's a better way to do it" 3) lim(x->0+) x^tanx This one I'm honestly just lost on getting set up to use L'Hospital's in the first place Thanks for any help

Hi, so i have just updated my windows 10 and for whatever reason it has created a windows.old folder (i already had windows 10 before updating). And now that pesky folder will not delete. okay, so here is what i have tried: 1. Changing permission to gain access to the folder and the underlying files and folders. Did not work, it says i need permission from myself, which doesnt make sense. 2. Using IObit unlucker. No luck, same dialouge as above. 3. Using Unlocker to delete the folder. No luck, same dialouge that i need permission from myself again. 4. Using MoveOnBoot. No friggin luck, it says that there are 5 files in "windows.old" that i dont have access to, i have tried manually to change the permissions, that i was able to. But when i came to the last 2 files i said i need to change permission for, it was 2 files that was not present, i was not able to find them. I'm pretty frustrated at this point, as it is taking up around 12gb's of my ssd and that is pretty annoying, i have tried anything, i have browsed forums and articles, i am blank. Any help is extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance! (Im going to class soon so i wont be able to reply, but i will return as fast as i get home)

EDIT: on windows 8.1 I have 8gb of ram it never used to do this. With just a couple chrome tabs, steam, and spotify open, task manager says my memory usage is 93% right now.. When I try to play a game it's around 97 or higher. I think it's affecting in game performance also. Task manager isn't showing anything taking up so much memory. Right now it says google chrome is using the most at 65 MB. So something in the background is using all the memory constantly... Any ideas for what's wrong or how I can fix it? Thanks
