Samsung Gear S2 Review The Samsung Gear S2 is a smartwatch that obviously is made by Samsung and is only compatible with a few devices (listed on their website) The box is nice and round and it has alot of signs, and some text... heres something interesting I found on the box: "Use only with smartphone running Android 4.4 or higher & RAM 1.5GB or higher", apparently you need 1.5 gb ram for this, interesting. Box aside, we dig in and find the actual watch! It's way tinier than what I expected (which is good) and its incredibly good looking, put it on my wrist and now I look more... "samsung" (im sorry I don't have a sense of humour and im unfunny) the bezel rotates and its clicky and satisfying, its easy to use and I can see myself using it! (I made myself a watchface btw.) After a week or two I feel like the bezel has loosen but it might be me (or my fingers getting stronger by rotating the bezel, finger workout for sure (ok im stopping now)) Everyone I show this to is impressed and would love to touch it, so its a definitive attention bringer, it runs Tizen OS which is cool, it runs smooth and the buttons are just right, It has a feature to save battery, whenever it detects its not on a set position the screen is off but once you look at the watch (like you would look at a normal analog watch) the screen automatically turns on! Talking about battery, the battery in my experience takes 2 and a half days in not-so-much use and 2 days in medium use. There is an appstore for this watch where you can download watchfaces and apps like Uber, or Nokia's snake...don't ask. I completely love this watch, its classy, it delivers, it has alot of functions, and it can tell jokes! So yeah, that was all. dont judge me this is my first review thanks xoxoxo

Hello, I have an android phone and would like purchasing a smartwatch, but don't have much experience with them. I need a smartwatch for running tracking and for general smartwatch purposes. I have looked at the Gear S3, and can anyone with the bluetooth Gear S3 Model please tell me how the gps running tracking is? If you have another watch you recommend, please tell me. Thanks

I just scored a cheap (20£) original pebble smartwatch. Considering the thing has been out for 4 years, someone ought to have some recommendations for some apps.

I'm just curious as to how the LTT community thinks of Samsung's latest iteration of their smartwatch. There's got to be at least one other person than me who wants to upgrade to this watch. Personally, it seems poised to be a step ahead above the Apple Watch, any Android Wear watch, or the Pebble 2 / Pebble Time 2. The cross-platform compatibility with iOS and other Android phones, along with onboard storage, a speakerphone and mic, and NFC and MST for Samsung Pay make this a contender for best smartwatch of 2016. However, the proprietary Tizen OS still needs improvement, as third-party app support is near non-existent (from what I have heard; correct me if I am wrong). Opinions? Leave them below; I'm curious to see what you guys have to say!

So, at a recent reunion of mine and my sister's university buddies, our mate was working on this modular smartwatch https://www.chooseblocks.com/ Thought you guys might wanna look at it or ask for a reviewer's sample etc. I did mention them to you but they were quite drunk at the time. Hell, we all werem but the idea of it being modular rather than a one for all seemed interesting. Couldn't find a wearables or smartwatch topic so I assumed that it falls on everything in between tablets and smartphones? If not do not flail me please.

I've had a Sony Smartwatch 3 for a long time and it's starting to fail the band is almost broken and the battery is dying (most days it just dies quickly and then can't be used that day). I really love the smartwatch experience, so I'm looking to get an upgrade, but there doesn't seem to be much innovation in the market. The Smartwatch 3 is waterproof and has a great battery, but I don't see many watches that would be a straight upgrade. I'm looking for something under $200 preferably and currently at the moto 360 since it isn't too expensive and the roundness seems cool. Does anyone have any advice on which watch to get these days?

Hey - I am looking for some simple but useful smartwatch. I dont want any fancy fitness tracking and other features i wont use. I want something with always on display, SMS notifications and ability to hang the call. Thats pretty much it. Long battery life would be appreciated - something around 2 days. I was using Sony smartwatch 2, but now I cracked the display and I can't find something similar in the new body. I was looking at LG Watch style, but it is unfortunately not available in my country (all Europe). So any suggestions for me? Thanks and cheers

I've worn a regular cheap digital watch for years and couldn't live without one. It just died and I'm looking at maybe getting a smartwatch. I really don't want to spend much, and all I need it to do is notifications and media controls for Spotify, and obviously display the time. I also have rather dainty wrists so I don't want anything really huge. What are my options?

And another incident of the industry flooding the market with cheapo devices without thinking the security road through fully. This time it's really frightening, because it endangers children. Some parents give their offspring smart, gps trackable devices to monitor their whereabouts. Although there is discussion about whether that's a good or bad thing, it definitely gets much, much worse when these devices are smarter than they need to be and not secure at all. Norwegian security researchers analyzed such GPS-enabled smartwatches, and the results are bad: A summary: https://www.mnemonic.no/news/2017/watchout/ Article from the researchers: https://www.forbrukerradet.no/side/significant-security-flaws-in-smartwatches-for-children Both webpages include demonstrational videos of the findings. (The german website where I stumbled upon this topic first: https://www.golem.de/news/gps-tracking-kindersmartwatches-sind-ein-datenschutz-desaster-1710-130818.html) The Forbrukerradet article says: Some of the failings are: Better turn off those devices for now until the manufactures provide secure firmware. And hope, that they will do this at all. P.S.: I do not know, whether these devices are also sold in North America, but I assume, that the devices that are available there might have similar flaws. Maybe somebody should check them up as well.

Hi, I was planning on buying a samsung gear s3 frontier in a few weeks to use with my s8+. I know they're fully compatible but if I was to buy an iPhone X next year when demand dies down would the gear s3 work with the iPhone? Notifications and music control are really all I need it to do. I'm still not sold on the iPhone X and waiting for reviews so that's why I'm not just buying an apple watch. Thanks for the help guys

Ok so i really want to get a pixel 2 xl, wanted the first pixel but waited till the second gen and had to get an iphone 7+ to tie me over as my 6 actually melted itself. Anyways, i have an apple watch and I love it, best smartwatch/fitness tracker ive ever had, but not compatable with android. Anyone have any suggestions for a smartwatch for android, So far the only one that would work for me in the garmin vivoactive 3. Many watches dont work for me as i have very small wrists. I have the 38mm apple watch, anyone have any suggestions, it needs to have a relatively accurate HR sensor as well as i must be able to swim with it (just in the pool)

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S8, and I want to get a good smartwatch to go with it. I have looked at the gear s3, but it seems like it doesn't have many apps, the fitness tracking is bad, and I despise those bubbly-looking icons on Samsung devices. I've looked at a few others, but they all seem to have a few glaring issues. I'm looking for a decent watch that looks nice and performs nicely. Any suggestions?

Smartwatches and other wearables have seen an increase in popularity though sales aren't as high as the manufacturers have wanted to see. One of the companies to lead the way of introducing these gadgets is Google with its software Android Wear present in most of the smartwatches in the market. An interview by The Verge with Jeff Chang has revealed more about the company's plan to release a flagship smartwatch It should be noted that the smartwatches will not have Google's name nor will it be part of its Pixel line. The watches will instead have the branding of the manufacturer which has yet to be named by Google. It will however have the latest updates and will probably release with Android Wear 2.0 which will come out the same time as the smartwatch's release date. The action seems to be Google's way of expanding its reach in the market given that the top smartwatch manufacturers are Apple and Samsung whom both have their own proprietary software running on their watches namely iOS and Tizen. I would personally like to see what Google and the manufacturer they had chosen has to offer especially considering that the market has been mostly ruled by Apple and Samsung and with Fitbit's acquisition of Pebble being a blow to people looking for a smartwatch on a budget. I'm curious to see whom Google picked to manufacture the device though it would most likely be a company that already worked with them on a Nexus or Pixel device. Source: The Verge

So I recently purchased myself an Asus zenwatch 2 on Amazon and I also got a Samsung Galaxy S7 for Christmas and I've been using the S health app. The watch doesn't arrive for a week or so now and I was wondering if I can sync the S health app on the Zenwatch 2 or if I'll have to start using Google fit

So I have decided that I want to get a smartwatch but am having trouble finding the right one. I have an LG V10. I have been looking at the Samsung S2 / S3 as well as the TomTom Spark3. Here are my requirements. 1) Must play music (Bluetooth headset) without another device - ie. smartphone or mp3 player. 2) Must be water resistant (I sweat a lot and would like to swim with it) 3) Would prefer to have GPS function to track running distance. 4) My budget is dependent on the quality to price ratio. So after reading this, would any of you have a better suggestion than the Samsung or TomTom watches listed above? If so...why? Thank you for your time in advance!

Hi Guys, I’ve been watching the smartwatch market for some time and to date nothing has inspired me to take the leap into the world of having to charge another device daily. I have recently come across the Nixon Mission however (http://www.nixon.com/nz/en/smart) and for the first time I am actually excited about buying a Smartwatch. I’d like to know if any of you have heard, seen or touched this Smartwatch yet (I realize it’s not officially released but perhaps some of you are part of the chosen few). Do you think this is something worth getting? Bear in mind I am an incredibly sporty individual who Snowboards every winter and Surfs when I can. I LOVE the durability and amazing suite of features that this watch apparently possesses. What should I look out for? Do you think there is a catch? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Cheers, Brandon

I am interested in buying my first smartwatch, and I would like some recommendations. I really like the design of the Skagen Falster 2, but it has an older chip so I don't know if it would be slow or not... I really like the bezel on the Galaxy Watch, but it seems a bit too large. The fossil sport looks nice as well... If anyone owns any of these devices or has any recommendations, help would be greatly appreciated.

i accidentally turned on dual screen on my kospet optimus pro smartwatch through the developer options, does anyone know how to factory reset or fix this as i set it to 4k simulated second screen and the whole screen became unresponsive. how do i factory reset without the settings menu?

Firstly i would like to say i know this is not about phones or tablets but about a smartwatch since there is no category for smartwatches I recently bought a Armani exchange connected Gen 4, the default watch faces are ok at best, i downloaded the Armani Emporio watch faces app, but when i tried to apply its watch faces it gave me only the app logo instead of the watch faces. I did some research and found out that u can install emporio watch faces on exchange connected models. Has anyone figured out or found out a method to use those watch faces please tell.

Hi everyone... Is there a smartwatch with -good look, nothing too bulky... (like Huawei watch GT) -long battery-life (like Huawei watch GT) -that is more oriented towards sports activities -can interact and share datas with everything...Apple Health, S Helath... Strava (The closest maybe are fitbit and Garmin even though they are just multi-platform app...) -basicly detect your activity without the need of setting manually everything (like Apple watch or Fitbit) -give training advice, i don't know VO2, resting time... (like Garmin) ????? I was looking for quite some time at sportwatch in general like Garmin and at a certain point i ended up looking at the Huawei watch GT and i thought it was awesome... i'm the king of guy which doesn't care about messages on my watch and a lot of other features that 90% of the time results just in a battery drain... I just want a watch that keep track of my activities and last quite a lot more than one day...and maybe has a good look. So you wuold think that with the Huawei watch GT i'm fine... WRONG! because for example i use a garmin edge 520 with my bike for keeping tracks with strava (not supported by Huawei GT). And also what i don't like of smartbands in general is that if you use one of them than you can't migrate datas of your previus hystory to another tracking app... so if you've been using a smartband for some time you are basicly stuck with that or obliged to discard all of your previous hystory. Do you think there's/there will be anything like this on the market?

Most of the data on fitness trackers/smartwatches seems to point towards cramming more media functionality or high-end outdoors functions. However, I am looking for essentially the notification screen on my wrist, plus time, weather, stopwatch, and a heartbeat sensor. Must have 24 hours + of battery life, decently durable, and under $200 (apple watch, you are out). Anything extra is nice, but does anyone here have any thoughts on smartwatches or fitness trackers from a notifications perspective? Note that I do not need to be able to reply, just view. Currently looking at the Fitbit Charge 3, but the reviews aren't stellar. Let me know if there are other questions.
