intel I7 7700kasus strix z270E gaming bios version 1302G skill ripjaws 2x8 2133mhzEVGA 500b 80+ bronzeand my boot drive is a WD Blue 1tbI've been unable to get this pc to boot into windows without entering safe mode, otherwise it just turns off as windows boots or just before it. Tried with a single ram stickattempted using other sata ports, i've reformatted the hardrive and reinstalled windows on it and it will boot to windows on other machines without issue but no luck with this one. I went and created a ubuntu bootable on my flash drive and the system starts with no issues. I have been able to get it to boot into safe mode with the hardrive however that's as far as I've gotten, checked the health of the drive through the bios and there seems to be no issue with it. Cpu temps are also well within specany advice or tips on how I can resolve this issue?

Hi all, I'm having a random shut down issue where if i start a game (monster hunter world for example) i'll get between 5 minutes and an hour's play time, and then the computer will instantly shut off, leaving only the rgb lights on the motherboard on. if i try to power on again it won't do so unless i switch the PSU off and on again near the external plug. 1) I discovered this issue when i was playing monster hunter world and it has repeated on project cars, so i figure it's hardware, not game related. 2)i have run msi kombustor and done stress tests, even in 4k, to which there are no issues. CPU temp never went above 55c, and GPU temp never rose above 65. however the top side of the gpu near the mobo was hot to the touch. i've monitored cpu and gpu temperatures using msi afterburner whilst playing the games i mentioned, and again, nothing really abnormal. CPU around 50-60 and GPU never above 70. 3) So i've sort of narrowed it down to the PSU(?) as this seems like the most likely culprit as everything else seems fine to me. i've had it since 2012 and now that i've put a bunch of new bits and a different load on it, it's probably sh*t itself. right? i'm looking at ordering this as it's replacement (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CP-9020102-UK-CX550M-Bronze-Certified/dp/B01C3FFATU/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=psu%2Bmodular&qid=1579128282&sr=8-6&th=1) if this is the case. Specs are as follows: CPU: AMD ryzen 5 3600x (brand new) GPU: Nvidia GTX1070 MOBO: Asus rog strix b450 (brand new) PSU: Aerocool templarius 850w cpu cooler: coolermaster masterliquid 120 cpu cooler (brand new) RAM: 2x8gb corsair ddr4 RGB (brand new) Storage: 2x seagate hdd (1xbrand new), samsung evo ssd (brand new), kingston ssd any help with this problem at all would be really appreciated. such a pain now that i've upgraded that i can't play any good games! Thanks in advance- SuperNova123

Hello, just recently upgraded my rig with a new motherboard, memory, ram, and graphics card. Since then I've been randomly running into the PC hard restarting randomly every now and then and can't seem to find a fix for it. I flashed the bios last night and that had seem to fix the issue until this morning when it did it again. Computer seems to be fine at idle but randomly will restart when playing games. Event viewer has no information about the restarts. The two games I've had it restart on me in are WoW(retail) and PC Building Simulator. The CPU sits at around 50C while gaming, which should mean it's not overheating. I seriously have no idea what's going on with this PC, I believe I've updated all the drivers. If there's any information I'm forgetting please let me know. Hardware: Operating system: Windows 10 Pro 64Bit CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 Stock CPU cooler Memory: 16 GB (2x8GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RGB Pro CMW16GX4M2D3000C16 Motherboard: MSI B450 Gaming Plus Graphics Card: MSI RX 580 ARMOR OC 2 PSU: Corsair RM850x Modular (Yes I know it's overkill when the previous PSU died a year to 2 years ago it was the only option that I could get that day). Running an intel SSD and a segate Harddrive. Software: iCUE Radeon Adrenaline 2020 World of Warcraft(WoW) PC Building Simulator

Hello everyone, I decided that I wanted to change my Ryzen 7 stock cooler to the cooler master LC240E. I have completed this and now when I boot into windows I am open for about 10 seconds and when I click the x to close out team manager for word etc, the pc just immediately shuts off. I can’t figure out what’s happening! I have an rtx 2070 with ryzen 7 2700x on an asus prime x 470 pro mother board. With 2x8 sticks of ram. I am booting off of a Samsung evo ssd with an extra 2tb hdd. All help appreciated!

Hello My PC just powered off (hard drop) while playing Battlefield V on the new island map. It was during a point where a lot of explosions were happening and vehicles were driving around. At this time, the CPU was running above 95% usage and hit 100% quite often. The PC hard powered off and then turned itself back on. I had already disabled ASUS Anti-Surge protection in the UEFI settings. I then opened Prime95 and FurMark and ran them both at the same time. My PC did the same thing and hard powered off after only 30 seconds. I repeated this another 3 times the exact same way all within 10 to 30 seconds of running the 2 stress tests together. I then ran just Prime95 (CPU only) and the PC did not power off at all. I also ran just FurMark (GPU only) and the PC also did not power off at all. I then opened Prime95 and let it run for a few mins, then as soon as I clicked to start the FurMark stress test, the system hard powers off literally as the FurMark window opens - every time. The only thing I can think of is that it is the power supply not being able to handle both CPU and GPU at the same time. I made sure to use separate dedicated PCIe power cables for my GPU instead of sharing one power cable but that did not help. This don't believe that this is a heat issue as my temperatures for CPU, GPU, Motherboard VRMs and GPU VRMs are well under control. Specs: Intel Core i7 6700K AMD Radeon R9 390X 16GB (4x4GB) 3200MHz DDR4 ASUS Z170-DELUXE Motherboard Corsair AX860 (non-i) Power Supply I am thinking of getting a new power supply but I am cautious and thought I would ask here first. Any help is appreciated.

Heyho! I've been having a very annoying issue since the last ~3 Weeks. My PC turns itself on after its shut down. Fully shut down, no sleep mode or anything like that. The time interval is seemingly random. Sometimes it starts up after just seconds, sometimes it waits up to 5 minutes. Sometimes it doesn't do it (Rarely, tho). Mostly If I shut it down and it starts back up, I shut it down again and it starts back up. I think my record was 7 restarts before I lost my mind and shut it down on the power supply (After it was shut down, of course) I'm using Windows 10. Interesting fact: My friend (Using windows 10 as well) has the same thing happening, although not nearly as often as me. All kinds of "Wake by ..." are disabled in my bios. Any Idea? What could there be even active after a PC is shut down? Is part of the operating system still active? Or is it only the bios? If I could at least narrow down where it comes from that would help already...

Good evening to everyone who will read that topic, Well my laptop has a HUGE problem (on a scale of 1 to 10... that's 11). When I play a game named Stormworks with Spotify streaming in the background (window opened, coz I have two screens), my laptop just shuts completely off with a black screen, no blue screen, and no option but to start it again manually (pushing the power button, obvious). However I asked the Discord of the game community and no one have ever had the same issue as I had. So it's coming from something else. I searched on the internet but every website just repeat the same as I scroll through them : - thermal problems, but I already changed the thermal paste to a new one (my laptop is from 2015) ; - memory problems, I upgraded my RAM from 8GB to 12GB recently but it was ultra stable until a few days ; - power supply overheat, it was a little hot but not burning as hell. Then I have another problem (and I think it is linked or the source from the previous one), when I shut my laptop down, my computer just beeps with a ultra-high-pitched very-low-volume sound (I have to stick my ear on the chassis) [when battery is unplugged there is no sound]. I disassembled my laptop trying to search the source of this sound and it seems that's coming from the motherboard but not close to the CPU nor the GPU. So well right now I'm trying things like playing with Spotify and HWMonitor to take a look at the temperature but my CPU doesn't hit the 100°C degrees maximum operating temperature (it hits in fact only 96°C without the black screen crash). So now I don't know what's going on. Hope someone could help me troubleshoot and solve this mystery from my laptop, all my specifications are in my profile description. Please, help me!

Hey Guys, I've got this problem that I lose my internet connection sometimes. It's not a big deal, but after my connection is back my computer shuts down for no reason. I don't know why. If you know why or if you have any solution for this, please write a comment down below. Regards Toasty

Hiya peeps! I have posted regarding this topic previously (previous topic: ) Soo it's back... It all starts with a random shutdown and after that whenever I press the power button, it starts the booting sequence. Everything powers up for maybe half a second (computer does send a video signal to the monitor) but then the boot fails and refuses to react to the power button again. This to me seems peculiar as why it wouldn't react to power button again. Only way to make the power button react is to remove the power cable from the wall that the pc is completely removed from all power, flicking the power supply button isn't enough. At one point this made the os corrupt and had to go to a backup. After re-installing it worked for a while, but it was a short fix. So far I have tried the following: -powering down normally and restarting -disconnecting all the cables -removing the power cable and turning the power button off at the back of the power supply (this resets the whole situation and at that point power button works once again) -removing and re-installing the graphics card -dusting the computer -re-seating all the ram -removing the CMOS battery Somehow this seems like a short circuit somewhere but I have no idea how to diagnose it. I'll try diagnosing it tomorrow afternoon as soon as I get home from work. Any suggestions would be greatly helpful.

I built my first PC two weeks ago. I built the PC originally with a 5700 Sapphire and it worked perfectly fine. I swapped that for a gigabyte 5700xt (3 fan). I OC the 5700xt and it crashed and reboot when I played games after a few minutes. I brought the clocks down and it worked fine after. Yesterday I played Resident evil 2 and Siege for hours and had no problems with the game. I tried to play Frostpunk today and the PC shut itself down after 30min. Granted I kept backing out to main menu and starting over. Any advice on what I could be dealing with?

Okay, this has been a fun one. My computer is crashing during certain higher/prolonged CPU usage sessions. So far I've seen full shutdown during: Assassin's Creed Odyssey (15-20 min in) Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (1 hour + in) OCCT:Linpack stress test (5-10 min in) *this one exhibits odd behavior. Around 5 or 10 minutes into the test, CPU temperatures will completely spike and go from a steady ~upper 60s to touching 90C before either the test stops itself from overheating or a shutdown occurs. Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool (during CPU Load test) Hardware/Software most items are 5 years old now unless called out: Things I've checked so far Other oddities I've noticed recently I'm running out of ideas. Really starting to lean towards either the CPU or Motherboard dying, though other insight could be nice. Might just be time to build a new computer. I do still have an old GPU as well if people think I'm off track and this is a GPU issue at the end of the day.

Hello everyone Forgive me if i get some details wrong here, first time posting. My specs: OS: Windows 10 Cpu:I7-4770 Gpu:Rx580 aorus 8gig Ram:8 gigs of ddr3,dont know the brand Motherboard:its a colorful board (dont know what make) Power supply:730watt So I've been having a very strange problem with my pc for the past month, the problem is wildly inconsistent, where the pc will, this is the best way i can explain it,switch off and come back on,not like a restart but actually shut off and come back on by itself. Now what i mean by wildly inconsistent is that ill be able to,for example, run superposition 1080p high and nothing will happen But if i try open crome it can shut it off like i said Other times i can open file browser, crome, etc and even play a demanding games like MGS TPP on max or Arma3 Other times it will shut off on start up The list just goes on What I've tried to fix it: Replace motherboard Replace ram Replace gpu x2 Replace power supply Replace cpu cooler Reinstall windows about 3-4 times(even tried using windows 7) Check all cables for faults Check if cables are touching metal Check if power pins are fine Check if dust or dirt or something is on/under cpu Unplug every peripheral Unplug every harddrive(besides OS hd) Use different wall socket Use different power cable x2 I'm not sure if this is enough info or not but helpful i can get some help Thank you in advance.

HiI have a laptop ASUS FX502V with Intel i7 7700HQ and Nvidia GTX 1060.When I turn it ON it takes 10 seconds for the display to turn on than the fans start spinning at 100% and it boots to Windows. It works for around 2 minutes with the fans spinning at 100% and then it turns off.I managed to get into BIOS and everything seems normal except that the CPU temperature is showing 0°C. What do you think? There are some pictures of my BIOS.

Hello, in the past month I had a loud fan bearing, it was pretty random when it would start and stop being loud, in the last few days the loud noise would only start few hours after I turn on the system (it doesn't make difference if the PC idles or being used on 90%) and would be noisy for ~6 hours but weirdly, sometimes it goes silent for a few minutes. Last night I was watching a movie, I could hear the fan switching from noisy to quiet quickly, like the bearing catches the right pace (or I don't know how to say it in english) so it would be quiet. Then after an hour of sweet silence the PC shut down. I couldn't turn it on right after it shut down, so I was kind of sure it was overheating, because it was the same behavior when my GPU overheated on demanding games. I waited some time and turned it on again, and after a few minutes it turned off again. I called it a day and finished the movie on my phone. This morning I turned my PC on, it was doing fine for 1-2 hours, the fan was not noisy at all, then the PC shut down again, right after I plugged my usb headset, for a moment I though it was short circuit, but it was just a weird timing, because when I turned the PC on again with only power connected, it turned off in a few minutes. In that 1-2 hours I downloaded hwmonitor, all the fans I could check were working, except for the GPU fan that would only start at 60°C, but that's normal. Temperatures were fine during the whole time. I couldn't see the PSU fan in the program, so I checked it myself, it was woking too. I don't know which fan was being loud, I suspect the PSU, but I can't know that, because there are many fans in the case. Also, I can't hear the bearing anymore, but I don't know if it's because the PC shut downs before it could start, or it's because the bearing gave up. I think the PSU is overheating, because I can't see its temperature while everything else in the PC was normal temperature-wise, but I'm not sure and I don't want to spend money on a better quality PSU just to have it turn out it wasn't the PSU which caused the problem. Some help/advice would be appreciated. edit: the problem was indeed the PSU, works fine since replacement

Playing Warhammer 2 and it will just go from game to desktop with no phasing...just immediately with no warning or 'this happened' from Windows. CPU, Graphics not overclocked....Is it possibly a PSU issue...or maybe having 4 sticks of RAM in the board...Specs are as per my signature below. Is there anything I can check or do to fault find?

Hello guys. At the morning, the PC ran fine. I put it in my car ( very carefully ) and brought it to my original residence. When I turned it on, it was ok at first for 1 minute, but suddenly it started getting really slow and eventually shutting down, after 1-2 minutes. I haven't moved a thing from the components. When I turned it on again, it said that the cpu was overheating. No leaks, no movement on the components. I opened the mail afterburner, and the temps were fine ( sitting to 36 degrees ). What should I look for? Ryzen 1600 with kraken x62

Last Saturday my computer started experiencing unexpected shutdowns, but I was still able to use it. Next day it wouldn’t turn on, and the GPU led (on the mobo) was solid red, while a long beep followed by 3 short beeps sounded. Apparently the GPU was dead so I replaced it with a new (and better) one. I might’ve forced the PCI-e port a bit, because even with the new card sometimes the same error showed up. The partial solution to that was to keep the pc horizontal, so as to reduce the torque applied to the PCI port. The PC started working. Given the context, these are the problems I am facing right now: 1- PC shuts down almost every time I play a game. 2- Sometimes when I turn on the PC, the CPU led on the mobo lights up, solid red, no sounds at all from the time I press the power button. No image at all. I was also facing some drivers issues, which also led to unexpected shutdowns and some blue screens. Because of that I formatted the SSD and reinstalled windows. Things I’ve tried to solve/troubleshoot my situation: 1 – Reinstalled Windows Added a fan next to the southbridge (it was getting hot) 2 – Hold the power button to perform a power drain (works sometimes) Reset the BIOS by reseating the jumper. (always works) My setup: CPU: AMD FX 6300 Mother: Asus M5A97 Evo r2.0 Ram: Corsair 2x4gb 1333Mhz SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 250Gb GPU: ASROCK RX 580 OC 8GB PSU: Sentey Essential 750W 80+Bronze My thoughts: Apart from the GPU, the PSU is the newest component of the setup, which makes me think it’s unlikely to be broken or malfunctioning. Also, I’m 100% sure the CPU requires a thermal paste replacement, which I’ll be performing this evening. I believe the issue relies on the motherboard or the CPU (or maybe both), but there might be other things to do/try before changing those components (here in Argentina we pay more than double for pretty much everything, particularly electronic components/devices) Any help or guide will be appreciated, I´ll upload any other info if required.

I have gotten hold of an older (4th or 3rd gen intel CPU I think) Sager laptop from my dad, as it hasn't been working. It has had a long history of issues, and I ended up gutting the motherboard to see if anything was wrong. Nothing appears wrong on the surface (no corrosion, etc.), and it boots up just fine. But between 30 seconds to 2 minutes after booting up it just randomly shuts down. I managed to run hardware monitor once before it rebooted, and temps looked fine, so I don't think it was overheating. Any help is appreciated.

Hi, my pc has recently had issues with windows 10. When I try to shutdown it will either not shutdown or it will take a long time to shut down. Control alt delete also gets disabled. Then when I turn it on in the morning it takes a million years to load and I get a red light on my mobo, also all of my lighting gets reset (cam) I keep having to turn it off by the psu and I’m affraid it will break
