I'm going to get a pre built but I can't decide on a combo. I'm planning to get a high end cpu for long term, just because it's a pain to switch the out, and once the gpu shortage is done I'm planning to upgrade the gpu. Which one of those combos do you recommend and if you have any other recommendations, please let me know! Also, what about the Ryzen 9 5900x with the Radeon RX 6700x instead? Trying to find a good combo, but one that would let me upgrade my gpu in the future, and let the cpu stay for a good long while. Thank you!

Edit: Never mind. As soon as I posted this, I found out there is a more up-to-date version of the software in question. The website just didn't bother to link directly to it and I only found out from a YT video. Click here for up-to-date Ryzen Controller versions Sorry about that. Overheating is a big issue for me so I was relieved to find out about the Ryzen Controller app so I can undervolt my AMD laptop. The problem? I keep hitting a 404 when I try to install the .exe file. Ryzen Controller on Gitlab So I figure my only option is to compile the source code from the .zip file. The question is how do I do that? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Things I have tried to fix this issue. Reseating CPU, GPU, and RAM. Changing Nvidia control panel settings globally and per game as per numerous online guides. Tried 16 GB of Ram. Tried 32 GB of Ram. Reduced Ram speed to 3000MHz in Bios. Enabled XMP. Disabled XMP. Swapped out Ram and tried 2 x 16 GB of Vengeance LPX 3000. Turned off windows game mode. Turned off Xbox Game Bar. Installed AMD SATA drivers. Removed AMD SATA Drivers. Clean install of Windows. Run games in Full Screen. Run game in Window. Run game Borderless. Turned off Full Screen Optimizations in Properties of game EXE. Set priority of EXE to high. Removed a core from Affinity settings in EXE and reduced core count by 1. I upgraded from an i7 8700k and Aorus X370 Ultra Gamer which gave me no issues with the same GPU and RAM. If someone has fixed this issue please help. This is my last attempt before I RMA the CPU and Board. Update 05/09/2021 Things I have changed since original post RAM changed to GSkill Trident Z 3600 New 650W PSU Artic Liquid Freezer 2 240 (max benchmark temp 72C) Same issues. Used Assassins Creed Odyssey this time as it show more detail. GPU and CPU both spike at the same time. Short of RMA of board and CPU don't know what to do. Put my GTX in my sons PC and it benches fine. Any ideas? Thanks Finchy70

I've been compiling parts for a new PC build and I'm trying to get as much advice as possible before making the next few purchase. So far I've bought a x570 motherboard and Ryzen 9 bundle and a second hand GTX 1080. I've got a 256gb M.2 from an old PC and a 1tb Sata from an old laptop. I'm wanting to go with as much ram as possible... I will be using the PC for some gaming but mostly for CAD, video editing, Adobe stuff... I've only ever had a PC with minimum requirements so I figure that if I'm to build one, I might as well build as much of a monster as I can afford! I've been looking at Ram and I'm not sure whether server ram would be compatible with my Motherboard? It's much cheaper and I'm not bothered about how flashy it looks in my case. I'm pretty certain I want a 80 plus gold power: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08NVNF874/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_CDJTDBH8YKCCKCS3ZQRB Think I'm going to go with this case: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08C76W2WM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_FZWCE3GVKVNWASP3ZE19 Is there anything else that I need to consider? I'm quite a newbie so apologies if some of my terminology is a bit wrong

Budget (including currency): Roughly £3.5k (Sterling/Pounds) Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Adobe Suite, VR, 3D Modelling/Animation etc. Some games that I usually play are: GTA 5, Flight Sim, EuroTruck Sim 2, Minecraft, Beam.NG, Tomb Raider & Half-Life Alyx to name some. Other details Want to be at least at 1440p 144hz, I know some games may not reach that high but it'll also work for graphical work aswell. I have been looking to build a desktop for a while now, I have my list but waiting on GPU prices coming back down. I made a PCPartPicker list of my build, was wondering what anyone thought of this build, should I change something to make it better etc. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/A-Haggsy/saved/#view=CvLTYJ (If i've left anything out, please ask me)

Adobe & Autodesk Hi All, My current MSI laptop is ancient and is overheating dramatically effecting performance with excel barely working :D About time I upgraded. Looking to build my first PC and need help. I have researched and come up with 2 builds, powerful and very powerful PC. I think! As this is my first build I have no clue if I am even on the right path and will it be enough power for required use. Not a gamer so that is not a priority. Preface / Plan: The reasoning behind this is that we run MacBooks and we both miss gaming so my thinking is that we can build a central gaming "server" and run 1 gaming vm each as well as get a central storage solution and game server hosting. The plan is to accumulate parts over time since we are in no rush and GPUs arn't available but i ran in to a small issue / oversight on my part, since the plan is use Proxmox and run GPU passthrough and a Ryzen cpu there is gpu left for Proxmox and the console. My questions to you are the following: 1. Will "GPU 3" be sufficient for console duty? will it work with the limited amount of PCI lanes? 2. Is the PSU sufficient? i know i cant go for the top of the line GPU's from Nvidia because of the power surges and thats not my goal we just want to be able to enjoy games without screaming laptops and lagg. 3. Will i be able to run a m2 boot drive or should i go for SATA since we will be using 3 GPUs? Budget (including currency): 30 000 SEK / 3 000 USD ish Country: Sweden Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Starbound, Civ 6, Cities, minecraft, Proxmox, dev vms Other details : Motherboard: ASUS ProArt B550-CREATOR CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X CPU Cooler: Noctua NHD15 Memory: 64GB Non buffered kingston ECC Case: Corsair Crystal 680X GPU 1: To be decided (leaning towards a 3060 or 6600) GPU 2: AMD RX 580 (we already own this) GPU 3: ASUS GeForce GT710 1GB (for Proxmox) Boot SDD: 250GB Samsung M2 if possible otherwise a samsung 2,5 sata PSU: corsair 1000w should do the trick Mass Storage: 3x Seagate 2TB raid 5 Router: Cisco RV345 Hypervisor: Proxmox VE

Budget (including currency): $2850 Country: United States of America Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Microsoft teams, A lot of webpages, Fall guys, A lot of COD, fortnite, CSGO, Among us Other details I am upgrading from a MacBook with 128 gigs of storage with 40 used with no games on on it because it won't fit any mainstream games. I know my cpu and gpu are hard to get your hands on and I am willing to wait as long as needed as I don't need it now. I want to be able to get 1440p to 4k res with 144hz+refresh rate HERE IS MY PART LIST

I am trying to get a 5900x and pair it with a MSI x570 tomahawk mobo. I have been comparing the G.skill trident Z RGB vs the Crucial Ballistix RGB both are CL16 3600 is there any real difference? Both seem to be on the support memory list

Hello everyone! Today i finally got my Ryzen 9 5900X in. I was very excited to finally receive it, but i'm encountering a few problems. After going through a horrible installation process for the Be quiet Dark Rock 4 and having to redo it twice i finally got it installed. And now i'm having idle temps of 60°C and on load just shy of 80°C with peaks up to 89°C. I suspect these temps aren't very normal. Did i go for a to weak of a cooler for this CPU? I usually use Arctic Silver thermal paste but i lost it so i had to use the included thermal paste. But i doubt this could be the cause for these high temps, right? Many thanks for your help -Wiebe

So I have seen some recent videos where people have undervolted there Ryzen 5000 Series CPU's to get a couple hundred MHz higher all core performance with PBO2. All of the results from the video seem to suggest that it's actually worth doing and gives a nice performance boost along with a few degrees off temperature. Now what would like to know is, What performance is there to be had with say a 5900X overclocked by a certain denominator, lets say 250Mhz. Is it worth it comparatively? for the excess heat load and temperature? Please only reply if you tried this on a 5000 series CPU and either undervolted/Overclocked your CPU!

water cooling Water cooling RTX3080/3090 – radiator size
Czech posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
TL;DR – which radiator for Ryzen 9 3900X + nVidia RTX 3080 open loop and why? This is the cool stuff that EK configurator spat out: ekwb.com/custom-loop-configurator/shared/oW5fefa095a2836 But I'm afraid SE 360 will not cut it. Is PE 360 enough? What if I want to use RTX 3090 or other power-hungry beast in the future? Budget: 15000 PLN (~$4k) for now Country: Poland (EU) Workloads: Programming, 3D design, VR I'm about to build a PC with interesting requirements: It will be under load most of the time (if not 24/7) I'd like to have fun and do custom water cooling No RGB (NULL, nic) – EL Wire instead ;) My initial concept: Asus TUF RTX 3080 Gaming (I can wait until it's available) AMD Ryzen 9 3900X NZXT H710 Black/Red Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE Crucial 2x32-3200-CL16 Ballistix Red Fractal Design Ion+ 760W Samsung 970 Pro 1TB M.2 2280 Am I missing something? I have also tested the RAM on my old build and it boots fine. I've tried a BIOS update through the ez flash does not seem to work (or possibly i have done this incorrectly) i followed directions on the Asus website. BIOS LED on back on case not lit. Hi all. I am at the final part of building my pc. I have a system with ryzen 9 5900x and rtx 3090. I was initially gonna go with an AIO cooler for the cpu but was worried about leakage and other issues. Now I'm looking into heatsink and air cooling. I was wondering whether a corsair a500 is sufficient to cool the ryzen 5900x, and would it affect the gpu negatively at all (considering there is good airflow inside the case). I realise corsair a500 is not the best air cooler and definitely not the best bang for the buck, but there is limited availability where I live, and it seems like one of the few feasible options. Thanks!

Hey guys, I have a small problem with things I read on the internet and I need to be sure. I recently bought a new CPU - the 5900X. I decided to get a good MB for it so I went for the ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (got the Wi-FI edition because the other one was out of stock) BUT the main problem comes with the RAM. I read that the new CPU lineup from AMD performs better with 4000MHz + RAM. Since my MB only has 4 DIMM slots I went for a double-stick GSKILL Ripjaws 4000MHz ( this one: https://www.gskill.com/product/165/184/1562837577/F4-4000C18D-16GVK ) 2x 32GB so I could upgrade in the future if I need to. So my 2 main problems are as follows: First, After I ordered the RAM I noticed that it says that the RAM is optimized for Intel processors. Should I worry about that? Will it be a waste of money? Will I get lower performance since I'll be using it with the 5900X processor? Second, I read somewhere that after the installation my RAM will run on 3200MHz and in order to get it to run full 4000MHz I need to overclock it. Is that true? Is the RAM not OC-ed by default (like the K-series of the Intel processors for example)? I know I have everything I need to do it but I really don't want to mess with these things. My only concern is the RAM since it's the only thing I could switch for something else. I already have all the other parts so please don't tell me to get different ones. Thank you in advance!

So I have been using a Wraith Prism I got off a friend due to budget reasons at the time, But there is a reason the 3950x didn't come with one... So out of all the options out there what are the better ones for the 3950x that are a good balance of price to performance

Hello everyone! Im currently having a issue where my pc keeps randomly crashing and it will instanly reboot afterwards. I already reinstalled windows updated all drivers and updated the Bios. Event logger is issuing some diffrent apic ids though they are as follows: Apic ID 28 Apic ID 29 Intel ethernet controller i225-v I tried Memtest 86 with no issues disabled PBO and ran the ram in D.O.C.P wich worked for a while today but this afternoon it stopped working and it now wont boot with D.O.C.P at 3200mhz and without it it keeps crashing. Specs of the system: MoBo Asus Rog Strix b550 f-gaming CPU Ryzen 9 3900X Ram HyperX fury ddr4 3200mhz 4x8Gb GPU Asus Dual OC RTX 3070 with alphacool waterblock PSU Corsair Rmx 750w SSD Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB HDD 2x4TB Seagate Barracuda drives All Parts are a year old max except the PSU wich is from my old rig wich is 5 years old. Any help would be appreciated since im kinda at the end of my wisdom here.

I'm currently gaming on a system that has a 3070 and a Ryzen 9 5900. Every game runs phenomenally, accept, Assassins creed odyssey which is al I've been playing recently. Its runs at a fun 25 fps. This is on both low and high graphics settings, which made me think it was a CPU bottleneck but there is no way that my 5900 is getting bottlenecked so I'm confused what the problem could be. Some other things to note are that when you press F1 in game it shows you your fps and gpu/cpu consumption. And my cpu has about 70-80 percent, and my gpu is only running at 40-45 percent. Also ive made sure that v and g sync are off in both the game and nvidia control panel. So I'm just confused why this game in particular wont go past 30 fps.

I build a PC with aorus b550pro Ac with ryzen 9 5900x and 3070ti. But it isn't posting when I turn on the power button only ram light lit up. I tried reassembling it but still same issue. I was thinking could be bc of bios so I decided to update it but still nothing. Thanks

I was looking at getting the Be Quiet Dark Rock Slim. Would that be good for the Ryzen 9 5900x or should I look at something else?
