Hi! Building a new PC here and am stuck between these two: Ryzen 5 2600 vs 1600. I'm kinda tight on budget and I'll be using it for casual gaming and light photo editing. I'm from India and choosing the 2600 would cost me an upward of Rs. 6000 ( about 86 USD) due to the motherboard upgrade and the processor itself. Is it worth going for the 2600, owning to future proofing or will 1600 suffice? Is the performance difference enough?

I recently received a Gigabyte AORUS XTREME RTX 2070 as a pretty big upgrade to my existing Radeon RX 570. My question is do I need to upgrade my PSU to support it? If I do, what should I get? I'm currently running a pretty budget friendly EVGA 500w bronze unit paired with a moderately overclocked ryzen 5 1600 and a bunch of RGB components. Thank you!

Hello, i would like to ask if im bottlenecked as my pc struggles to maintain 100+fps on COD warzone. I play on 1080p, all low graphic settings to maximize the use of my 144hz monitor. Setting the graphics to ultra only sets me back about 10-20 fps. My pc specs are: Ryzen 1600 b450 Gtx 1080ti 16 gb 3200mhz ram

Sorry this is so long... Hi I have 2 systems, one a Ryzen 5 3600 on a Gigabyte Aorus Pro B450i motherboard, and a Radeon RX 5700xt. The second is a Ryzen 5 1600 on a MSI B450i Gaming Plus ac, and a Radeon R9 Nano. I just built both, first one is a friend's, the second is mine. All stock, using AMD 20.7.2 drivers. Whenever I run Unigine Heaven, or try to start say Final Fantasy XV, the computer black screens and restarts. All temps are good, and I can't find any information online. It started with the first system a few weeks ago when I built it, and thought maybe I got a bad 5700xt, but now that it has happened to a second system with different hardware, I'm at a loss and don't know where to turn. Please help if you can, let me know if there is anything I can provide to give you more context. I would also be willing to mail my system to you if it's something that might make good content. I'm desperate! Thank you and you're team for everything you all do for the Tech Community, and keep the videos coming!!!

Hi, I have recently upgraded my pc and bought gtx 1080. I have 24" 1080p g-sync monitor from AOC. Nowadays I am thinking about buying 27" 1440p monitor with g-sync, but I am not sure if the experience will be as enjoyable as it is on 1080p monitor. From what I have heard, it is amazing. But is it as big of a deal as it is changing from 60hz to 144hz ? As that was life-changing experience. I am not ultra setting freak and I mostly play competetive shooters and AAA titles from time to time which I am ok to play without having stuff maxed. Will I be satisfied by the change in quality more then bugged by loss of 30-40 fps ? Also , are there any upcoming monitors that are worth waiting for ? as I am looking at Dell S271DG atm and it is below 500euros which is pretty good price here (Slovakia). Current PC - Ryzen 1600, GTX 1080, 16GB RAM ... (feel free to ask about rest if needed) Thanks a lot

I was planning for getting a new build and was wondering what CPU to pick. I'll mainly use it for gaming but I'll need it for editing and rendering sometimes. The Ryzen will save me enough to buy an SSD with it plus it has the ability to overclock (even though I don't plan on overclocking for the foreseeable future unless I need to). The i7 seems better for when I need it for rendering. I checked some benchmarks online and the difference in performance doesn't seem too large but I was wondering if that really is the case. I'm also planning on getting a GTX 1060 6GB so I was wondering which one would be more suitable for it if it'll even make a difference. I checked the Ryzen 7 1700 too but it seems weaker for gaming so I'm not thinking of getting it.

I'm trying to build about a 700-800$ build and am in the final stages of choosing everything... The only problem is, Ryzen 2600 comes out mid april and that's 200$ compared to Ryzen 1600's 150ish (includes with rebate). If I go for the Ryzen 1600, I could probably manage to get a GTX 1060, however if I go for the the 2600, I'll be able to max out at a 1050Ti if I'm lucky. What should I go for?

Hi. I have a ryzen system that no longer shows all my cores and is not preforming as it should be. For a while now my cpu has not shown all its cores on windows. I'm unsure what has caused this to happen. I doubt it was a bios update since i had not updated until I found out about the security issue that was going around not too long ago. When I first put my system together it consisted of: Ryzen 1600 ASUS B350 Plus 1 x crucial 4gb DDR4 2333mhz 1 x Asus gtx 1050 (non TI) 550w corsair psu (bronze) Un-activated Win 10 (which I'm still using) When I tested this setup in cinebench I had a multi cpu score of around 1000. That has now dropped to half with my latest score coming back at about 540-560 The system has not been overclocked. Upgrades made later on: 2 x Corsair Vengence LPX 8GB 2400mhz 1 x ASUS GTX 1060 6gb Just noticed that cinebench seems to think I'm running windows 8... No changes to the bios have also been made. I would appreciate any assistance. Thanks.

Hello, I've been putting together some money and Have decided to get these items - - Ryzen 1600 w/ H100iV2 watercooling solution - NZXT S350 Mid ATX Tower (glossy white steel ) - G.Skill DDr4 Ram @ 3200 Mhz (2x8gb) 16gb worth - All Atop a B350- plus Motherboard AM4 _____________________________________________ What Im upgrading from - -FX 8350 watercooled single 120mm radiator runs at a constant 4.34 Ghz - m5a99fx pro r2.0 - other stuff that is so old i dont even feel the need to go on about it. The reason for this post is that, as you may have noticed; I haven't included any gpu specs. That's because I've been using an 8Gb R9 390 for gaming, and paired with my FX 8350 8 core i've been using it does quite well, around 140+ FPS mostly maxxed out in 1080p. The reason I haven't included any specs until now about my gpu is because I really really want this free-sync monitor that is 2k and 144hz. The Acer XG270HU Red 27' 144hz free sync. It looks pretty neat. The fact of the matter is that I will have kind of an odd ball PC. I doubt anyone would have ever ran this card in 2k with the Ryzen 1600 or 1600x and if anyone on this forum has, please, let me know how it does! Because If I get this monitor and It require me to upgrade GPU's im just going to get a 1080ti and call it quits., but Of course that will take some saving up and I'd like to know ahead of time what I should do about this monitor. and the Question is, get it or not ? This is my first post, so be nice, and everything is up for discussion as I have decided to hold out buying anything until i know what I should do about this dilemma. Thanks

Hello everyone. So I recently got a gaming pc with an i3-3220@3.30GHz and was looking for a 100-200 good processor so I stumbled upon the i5-7600K and the Ryzen-1600 and was wondering which one was worth the purchase since they're both in the ~price. I'm running a PC with 8GB of ram, and a GTX 1050 Ti, since my i3 is limiting my GPU performance, oh and btw this PC was just a HP workstation but with an added GTX 1050 ti... Thanks!

My specs are: Ryzen 1600 @3.7ghz, 1.375v DDR4 16GB Corsair 2666Mhz 16-18-18-35 GTX1060 6GB. I have never had any problems gaming but when I do the Steam VR performance test I have a super high number of cpu bound frames and I don't know what's causing it. No one else with the same processor seems to have this even if there's is running at a lower clock speed then mine. I have an Oculus rift on the way and am wondering if this will cause problems and if so can I fix it. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I'm on a fresh install of windows and it's still happening.

So after watching a video here (from Hardware Canucks), I'm not convinced I should buy a 2600 over the 1600 and a B350 motherboard. I feel like the differences in real world performance are so minimal there isn't much of a point, especially with an 800-900$ budget. I won't be able to get that good of a GPU if I go with the 2600 because of the price bumps from the the 1600. So my question is, should I get the 1600/1600X with a better GPU than I could have gotten if I got a 2600 and maybe upgrade to Zen 2/Ryzen 3 next year or should I get the 2600 now and just wait like 2 years before upgrading? I'm kinda feeling the 1600 + better GPU and upgrade in 1 year. In all honesty, the clock speeds and the performance in games that the 1600 gives is something that I'm fine with and is still a tremendous upgrade over what I've been using for sometime, so I really wouldn't mind waiting like an extra 30 seconds for a video to render rather then the huge times I deal with now.

Specs: ryzen 1600 CPU With box cooler Asrock AB350 mATX mobo g.skill DDR4 3200 2x8gb ram evga g3 550w PSU Asus Dual RX 580 GPU Samsung 960 Evo m.2 SSD First build, very excited, test built my system on my mobo box and I turn on the power but the system won’t post. Even if I leave the power on for 20+ minutes nothing happens but my screen telling me there is no signal and it enters power saving mode. Power LED says that there is power - the hard drive LED flickers a few times when I first turn on the power but then nothing though it does flicker each time I mash F2. Please advise! Is it my CPU? Or my mobo? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!

Hiya, On my build I am getting audio glitches. Very short, I guess more like a stutter. It doesn't matter where the audio comes from. It could be Spotify, YouTube or just game sound. This happens maybe once or twice an hour. I've got no clue what it is that's causing it. Both my CPU and my RAM are OC'd (3.8GHz and 2400-> 2667MHz). So I assume that one of those is the culprit. I can't see any issues with extensive stress tests and there's no spikes in any graph on a variety of monitoring tools. I suspect it's to do with the RAM but I am unsure and wanted to get a second opinion! Cheers!

Hey, hopefully someone can help a friend and myself out troubleshoot his new PC. Any help or suggestions much appreciated thanks for reading. So my friend just built up a new PC specs are as follows: Mobo: Asus strix b350f RAM: Gskill trident z rgb 16gb (2x8) 3200mhz GPU: Asus strix gtx 1080 CPU: Ryzen 5 1600 PSU: EVGA supernova 80+ gold 750w psu OS: Windows 10 home 64bit unactivated Now he got it all together, updated the bios to the latest version, have not overclocked the cpu or even switched the memory from the default 2133mhz. The PC boots to windows without issue, but after sometime on the desktop the PC just blue screens and shuts down once you start trying to do any updates or downloads etc.. So we tried using a DOCP profile for the memory which it shows 2400,2933,3200 etc so we tried those but still the same issue.. It seems to be quite random sometimes it stays on for longer periods.. Should we try manually typing in the timings for his memory? Could it be his windows install? Lack of drivers for the higher end hardware windows base drivers are just not cutting it? We are both kind of lost any help is appreciated. Cheers!

Hi All! First time builder here - https://pcpartpicker.com/user/drew6700/saved/zzpD8d I have some specific questions about the build itself. (Sub 1000 USD pls) 1.) Will I need more RAM or higher speeds to play AAA games at 1080p? 2.) Is every mobo the same when posting, or does the B350M have its own quirks? 3.) How strong is the WiFi adapter that I've selected? 4.) Is there anything else I need to reach the aforementioned 1080p for AAA games? Nice to see a consistently helpful community!

Sooooo... I decided to build my first NAS/Plex server/Steam cache storage thing and i need help. The goal is to have a NAS where i can put my files like photos, videos, ecc; Plex server that is capable of streaming 1-2 1080p videos; Steam cache library so i dont need to redownload games every time i want to play older games, and if possible use the same concept for other game platforms and windows updates. This is the hardware that i have laying around: CPU: Ryzen 1600 Mobo: MSI Pc-Mate b350 HDD: external 3.5TB seagate hdd (i'm planning to shred the enclosure and just use it as an internal hdd) PSU: idk which brand is it (maybe LC Power?) but it's 600w (the 120mm fan make some noise but i'm going to replace it) GPU: i've got an asus 270x 2gb, a gigabyte 260x or 265 (i dont remember) windforce3 2gb(?), and a powercolor 5750 768mb I'm planning to buy: 1x Seagate BarraCuda ST2000DM008 2TB 7200 RPM 256MB (i dont have much to spend right now, i'll buy more later/as needed) 1x Ballistix Sport LT Gray 4GB DDR4-2400mhz (it costs 20€ and it gets the system running) 1x Corsair Carbide 100R (it costs 50€, it's small enough to fit where i wnt to put the system, it has 4x3.5/2.5 and 2x5.25 and most impontartly my atx mobo fits inside) Potential Build: CPU: Ryzen 1600 MOBO: MSI Pc-Mate b350 RAM: 1x 4GB Ballistix Sport LT DDR4-2400mhz HDD: 1x 3.5TB seagate hdd 1x Seagate BarraCuda 2TB PSU: LC Power(?) 600w +fan mod CASE: Corsair Carbide 100R GPU: Asus 270x 2GB Direct CU2 Top Questions: 1) What do you think about the hardware ? 2) I wanted to use the 270x to help plex media transcoding but i've read somewhere that amd gpus arent that stable/do not perform well with plex, can someone confirm this ? 3) I'm thinking to use ubuntu/ubuntu server as OS, any other OS i should consider ? (keep in mind that i basically dont know anything about GNU/linux) 4) Is it possible to have the entire storage shown as a single drive without having to set up a raid ? 5) How does steam cache file management works ? I mean can it put games on different drives or i just point a folder and all the games get stored there ? 6) Down the line i'll be upgrading this NAS with more hdd, is there a method to have a raid 5 or raid 1 and add more drives to that raid ? Thanks for the help

My current build has a Ryzen 1600 that I got when it was released, paired with a GTX 1070 Ti. I play First person shooters; CSGO, Apex legends etc. I really don't care for high graphics and have most games on Low settings to get high fps. For CSGO I get 220fps+, Issue is Apex legends I have lowered the game settings way down and still get 110fps~ and can't hit my monitors 144hz. I know I will get more fps but I wanna know how much.. Is it enough I won't need an upgrade for a few years? I also wanted to stream but 1600 couldn't handle 1280x720res @3600Kbps. I apologize if this post was worded weirdly my current time is 4:20 so :). Thanks, Mak.
